The right one is the way it is because the console they had to make the game on has shitty hardware. The concept of the switch in a fantastic one but of course Nintendo fucked it up by giving it less power than a mobile phone.
As for the lack of classic Pokemon and other missing features, that was just GameFreak being lazy.
