try getting better faggot
solution: get good.
>being a no skill faggot
M8, he's my best character
git gud. Breaking new records last night.
He's the only character worth playing as lel
What's the problem OP? We can help out.
Maybe if you are a sloth with like 40apm
You know what I'm gonna say it
The motorcycle weapon is fucking stupid and not fun to use
His moveset can be overwhelming for beginners.
It's one of the best weapons in the game.
Hard to learn, harder to master, VERY satisfying when you figure out how to play him.
I wouldn't even know where to begin
I can get Nero and V down (I can even comfortably use all the different breakers and often MAX Act with Nero) but I just can't wrap my head around Dante, there's just too much shit to keep up with.
ROADKILL
CRAAAAAZEH
Try equiping only 2 weapons at first and learn playing with them, add other weapons once you feel comfortable.
Take him one weapon set at a time (one melee and one ranged). Like, stick with just DSD and E&I for a while. Try switching just between Swordmaster and Trickster at first. Use Trickster to close distance, use Swordmaster to actually attack. Uppercut enemies into the air, use Trickster to "jump" up to them; the only time you should actually jump as Dante is when jump cancelling, though that's a more advanced technique that you shouldn't do yet, seeing as how you're starting out as Dante. Take it slow.
dante devil sword makes him a bit easier since he gets swordmaster moveset for in air so you can focus on gunslinger/trickster more
its definitely the least fun weapon imo, but it looks great and gosh darn is it powerful
What kind of boots are they
>FULL THROTTLE
>YOU LIKE JUGGLIN'?
most of the fun shit is in swordmaster mode.
Please don't tell me you think you could wear those and not look like a fucking fool.
I disagree. It's very unique in a way that you can switch moves from different combo chains and it also requires correct timings to get most damage and style points out of its attacks.
All the extra stuff might confuse you but theres no need to use everything. Try limiting yourself by only using certain styles and weapons and then work your way up as you get used to dante's arsenal.
hold down the attack button as the motorcycle hits for extra damage. Idk about you but I love the sound and feeling of chainsawing demons with it as I hold down the button.
Maybe I want to look like a fool?
You don't need special boots for that, trust me.
My problem with motorcycle is that it's slow. It feels very alien for Dante.
Seeing as this DMCV thread is active, should I buy it for $20 despite never playing a DMC before? It looks fun as fuck but I'm not sure how replayable it is
It's very replayable just like any dmc before it, higher difficulties don't just make enemies deal more damage and have higher health, but they also get new attacks, become more aggresive and their placements differ. You can start with this one without playing previous games just fine, there's 5 minute video in main menu that recaps plot of previous games.
>20$
Absolutely, user
Obviously he has 4 others games get on with it
Yes, and it's very replayable. You probably won't even unlock all moves your first time through, and the harder difficulties (and their rewards like Super skins) can only be unlocked through replaying the game. It's all about improving how you play. This isn't really a game you beat in the traditional sense. It's very worth $20.
where the fuck you getting it for 20 bones?
i kinda want to get it for pc after playing on ps4.
capcom should've introduced dante's moveset at a slower pace. Maybe have the other styles as unlockables
You already start missing loads of shit
And this is the third title with modern dante
thats what the void is for
>It looks fun as fuck but I'm not sure how replayable it is
Its one of the most replayable games I ever replayed. dmc is the only AAA action game I can ever replay over and over again usually its just indie rogue-likes
They sort of did it in dmc 3, but at this point people except more from the start.
Just choose 2 styles to master, only crazy people can do all 4.
Has DMC1 aged well? I bought the collection and I’m thinking about playing them in order.
The camera in the Urizen 3 fight sucks and makes me think they expect you to fight him on the ground
>they made E&I Gunslinger basically unusable unless you faceroll the buttons
but why
i only use it for rainstorm hehe
What really clinched it for me was getting rid of the MJ hat. I know people like it, and it's a gas, but dual Kalina Anns, Coyote, and E&I are all I need, and I REALLY started making headway at handling him when I removed that fucking hat.
Also it goes without saying, but he really comes together when you have access to all of his moves. So buy everything.
You're fucking nuts, man.
It's clunky to me but it's really short and well worth play through.
It has some gimmick sections but it has good core gameplay and decent enemy design.
The Void you dummy.
BaSSSed, its not a useful move but damn it looks so cool. I love using it. DmC's slowass version of it is laugable
I like the one where he stands in place and rapid fires, it just looks so cool
Finished replaying it recently and has aged pretty well. The only glaring flaw is the camera at some points but it's not that bad. A lot of the story elements in 1 play a part in 5 too so it's also worth it for that.
Be prepared for how shit 2 is afterwards though, and I'd advise not skipping it because it really makes you appreciate 3 that much more after it.
>Launch enemy
>Hold him in place with the rapid fire+single shot
Fucking love this game. I don't think the game spells it out, but you can aim at multiple targets doing it, too. Provided you have Gunslinger on.
i haven't found many uses for most of the guns besides kalina ann honestly. so i jsut roll with e&i+kalina. slowly i tried to bring in the shotgun but haven't found something worthy for it.
been mostly playing nero after learning jump canceling honestly.
fun shit to do with nero and tomboy is get some major height jump canceling and doing the tomboy attack and you will shred the fucker all the way down forever.
Style, m8.
>Get the hog with two tongues to low health
>Charge up Coyote to max
>"Man...I'm bored...
>BOOM
The best way to learn Dante is to get a favorite style, like Swordmaster or Trickster and play with only that! When you feel comfortable with it you train a second and switch between only those two, and so on
How the fuck do I master RG is my question. When I make it to Goliath in BP, I cannot reliably parry him despite his enormously telegraphed attacks. I can't reliably parry anyone, it's ridiculous. I only switch between G, T, and S as a result, ignoring RG entirely.
source for artist
you mean he's the only one worth playing as
No, OP, this guy is
how do i get this good at video games
I hate that Nero has the better theme. It's addicting and incredibly satisfying to hear
>BANG, BANG, BANG
Each time you reach S.
Jump then immediately RG
It overlaps the Iframes of jump immediately into RG
Other than that just practice, goliath is kind of slow. But RG is really good vs urizen3 and vergil
I also suck really bad with RG, my only way to play in a decent way is by spending DT meter on my guards instead of trying for the perfect parries
>Tomboy
A man after my own heart. Helter Skelter is overrated.
yeah dante's theme gets a bit meh since i have grew out of metal now. i change it to vergil 2 now.
what sucks though is most of the levels have their own battle theme.
though i haven't messed with bloody palace since its release because i got distracted by sekiro, so maybe it works there mostly. but yeah nero's theme is so damn catchy
Can't you config the game to play Devil Trigger on all 3 characters?
Nero is worth playing since you can do dumb shit with him
Maybe you already do that, but don't tap block button, always hold it for a bit.
Then don't. I literally beat the game on normal using only balog. And I really only use swordmaster and trickster, that got me through son of sparda. Just pick what you like and hardcore train with it until you know all about it and itll carry you
It does, Two-some Time.
>not putting Nelo's theme on V
Small time.
bilibili.com
Nero-time has come
V-ultra violet
Dante- devils never cry
Best setup
5's original music is lackluster
Other way around for me. I keep telling myself to go back to Sekiro, but BP is super addicting.
>5 overtures explosion on the boss
>that long spinning tomboy descend
this. he's incredibly fun to fuck around with especially post-game
honestly sekiro was just not my jam. i got stuck at a part and just didn't have the motivation to keep playing it so i feel robbed.
It's an intense game, but the inherent difficulty has no doubt stopped many players.
Does Dante's super costume give you infinite Sin DT?
This. It's basically a shit Salamandra that's ten times slower and only really exists for filler hits.
Nero feels like a caveman when you gey good with him because how fucking strong he is with everything stacked
>charged shot/color up/summoned sword if dt
>max act
>knuckle
>buster
Can uunga buunga everything to death
i'm all for challenge but that game just didn't feel rewarding and more of like an annoyance
>that finisher
Technically no but infinite DT lets you fill the sin bar instantly
Its swordmaster moves are 10/10 especiall the aerial ones
Especially while dt'd
Agree, it's just more stupid CURAZZZYY shit, it's what happens when devs like the fans dictate the tone of the franchise rather than the writers
I love everything about it except actually using it
it's so slow and not in a good way
You can combo into the spinny move from the swordmaster moves. Fucking nuts.
Git gud.
They wanted to put it in DMC3 (the game that spawned the CURAZZZZYYY reputation) but they couldn't
Same with punchline i think, since Dante rides both a motorbike and a rocket in dmc3
I like Nero's theme, but that's the only one I keep on.
I can't really decide on what I like for Dante, I switch it up between a couple.
>Not liking crazy
Whatever fag
Here’s how I increased my Dante ability with very low effort:
>canned long moves such as Dance Macabre, the longass Cerberus moves
>Trickster to teleport right next to enemies
>when enemies attack, I jump up and Rainstorm
>a super basic air combo is Gunslinger->Dual Kalina Ann circle button->Rainstorm
>Honeycomb Fire until it stops raising my style rank
>Revolver / Long Revolver with Cerberus to close distances pretty safely
>Ice Age for defense
>Cavaliere for crowd control against easy enemies; also great in the air with Swordmaster Style
>Coyote-A against flying enemies (I hate the bats)
>SDT to obliterate things I don’t want to fight. Make sure to end every SDT with Judgement
>tfw free ride only in 3
>nero does a variation of it in 4 during a cutscene
>still not in 5
Biggest letdown
I have an easier time with him than Nero
>yfw no Vergil DLC
Nero is EZ mode once you’re good at staying in the air. I try to barely touch the ground with Nero, and it’s incredibly safe. Calibre and Gerbera offer great air mobility, as well as the third jump and air taunt, and if all else fails you can snatch the enemy back up into the air. You can jc all of his Exceed attacks pretty easily and stay out of harm’s way. The exceptions are big enemies, which require more careful JCing, and Furies, which suck donkey dick.
Does DMC3 have some sort of hidden damage boost with weapon usage? I feel Rebellion has gotten way more powerful than it was at the start, even the standard combos.
same
i have my days where thats true. other days i'm just fucked with dante and can only nero.
maybe its the fact that you ping pong with characters especially with V in the mix during the main game.
It has elemental weaknesses, and I think Move2 versions do more damage than Move1.
They won't waste a chance to shell out a Special Edtion one year or more later, Capcom will re-relese anything that sells past 2 million copies. Might even be a chance to cashgrab an early PS5 / Scarlett title without putting too much effort.
We wil probably get a DMC5:SE to the new generation, just don't expect to come out soon
I just hope they make a proper expansion to Vergil with new moves, new mechanics, new plot, new scenario and new maps.
>Nero is EZ mode once you’re good at staying in the air.
I feel that. Especially with a 3rd jump, and the extended range of his devil bringer/breaker bring most enemies directly to him
Oh sure everyone gets all up in arms about blackface, but he can do redface just fine!
The Cavaliere-R's Redline move is one of the most fun and useful moves in the game and essentially gives Dante a fuck-huge air stinger.
WOHOOO-YEAHAH
GUNSLI-
TRICKSTER
ROYALGU-
GUNSLIN-
SWORDMAS-
TRICKSTER
That's clearly orange and worse, making fun of the now endangered newjersians.
>ROYALGU-
only happens when my finger slips
You could have just said "I'm a filthy casual point at me and ;laugh" and saved us all time
You're supposed to do that yourself by focusing on one sword/one gun and slowly including the rest of his moveset
Is it even possible to S rank DMD without Royal Guard?
>it's been over a whole year already
>It's been a whole year since we last met. Where does the time go?
go slow
do 2/2 weapons and stick to trickster and swordmaster and practice further for how much you want to achieve with him
the good thing about him being so stupidly deep is that you can tinker him to your own personal style
>DMC5 Dante
>Hard
They made him waaaay more managable in this game compared to DMC4.
>DSD now has air combos outside of swordmaster
>No Dark Slayer style that forces you to remember which style is currently equipped
>Weapons can be de-equipped if you find his entire arsenal too much
>Gunslinger and Trickster got buffed
>Royal Guard got massively buffed
You kids got it easy.
The concept for a motorcycle weapon goes as far back as DMC2 when an artist came up with the idea and Itsuno loved it.
Don't kid yourself, like all SE's they will make one new cutscene and just call it a day, Vergil and possibly Trish & Lady will just retread Dante/Nero/V's campaign, again.
why do you want to be inferior?
i hope they add those guys in and work further on their 4SE designs, especially Lady since the character action game genre needs more variety beyond melee focused characters
>The concept for a motorcycle weapon goes as far back as DMC2 when an artist came up
How the fuck did DMC2 end up with
>sword
>thin sword
>wide sword
Royal Guard is ridicously useful in DMC5 even if you're a shitter.
You can literally eliminate timing out of equation completely by willingly eating DT on hits and using Royal Revenge.
get fucking good
its not even that slow
Because the game was scrambled together in a few months after the previous director completely dropped the ball. The idea was then partly used in DMC3 but they couldn't get it to work in gameplay due to the PS2's limited hardware.
Itsuno became director of dmc 2 like few months before release. Before he came in, game was probably uplayable.
DMC5 gameplay is waaay more friendly if compared to DMC4, when I played the beta I noticed how easy was to perform jc and make air combos when compared to 4, and the EX-act is easier now.
Dante's whole arsenal is a complete improvement when compared to 4, not only every style is useful even when in casual hands but also they have way better synegy with each other. And don't let me start on SDT, this is just pure kino.
I hope if we get Vergil, he gets a massive improvement over DMC4 Vergil, like Dante and Nero got.
Doesn't hurt to dream.
