It's2019

>it's2019
>not a single fucking game has surpassed SM64's movement

idk I remember sunshine being bretty good desu

Odyssey arguably managed to.

It didn't even come close.

this. i still like 64 more as a game, but odyssey's movement was pretty damn good.

Sly Cooper had great movement, it just didn't do enough with it.

>needs the hat gimmick to even come close
lol no
>fludd
nope

I always liked the movement in the Jak games. It's quite weighty though so is slower than Mario and also lacks walljumps etc .

Definitely did. Long jump into rolling as a ball down a hill is quite fun.

Not at all. It depends too much on that stupid hat and motions controls. Diving in the air requires the crouch button while in the air? And then throwing the hat and shit? It's very limited and overly complicated compared to Mario 64. It is a huge disappointment

>that absolutely gimped walljump
try again retard

Longjumping defeated most of the puzzles without effort. Way overpowered

beautiful

>Arguably

thats a game design problem not a movement problem

beautiful

>that walljump

once again, try again retard. absolutely embarrassing.

At this point I've just accepted that we're never gonna get games with good physics ever again

all of that shit is piss easy to do and has no feeling of weight or power.

>retards unironically think odyssey has better movement than 64

Attached: ttm100.webm (640x480, 1.71M)

nobody said that in this thread silly

the only thing odysseys movement has over 64 is the camera, and that's not even movement. it just makes movement easier.

How is the "hat gimmick" not considered a part of the games mobility?

Maybe in your series Sonicuck.

sm64 does more with less.

It's a shame. It's sad that the 3D Sonic game with the best physics was 21 years ago.

Is that a joke?

>fludd gimping every platforming section
fuck off

it actually does more with more, most of odyssey movement just gives off the illusion of depth while being binary as fuck.

Doesn't change the fact that SMS has vastly superior movement tech.

>What is Sunshine/Galaxy/Odyssey

I thought he was going to dive for the star and get it while he was in the air
I feel so blueballed

*ahem*
Fuck Italians and fuck wahoos
*kersplat*

he's doing the 100 coin star simultaneous with reds, so he has to grab the blue coin on the ground there and the 100c star before grabbing the reds star.

>want to learn 120 route
>these two fucking stars and Tick Tock Clock

I'm one of the other 2 people who likes Croc on Yea Forums but dem tank controls are shit for platforming.

Games that focus more on gimmicks than having fluid movement?

It's insane. How did the very first real 3D paltformer manage to rape the fuck out of every game that was to come the next 20 years?
It shouldn't have been more than a barely functional techdemo.

How can you even have that opinion?
Have you even played SM64

>mario game
>overly complicated
You must be retarded or close to it.

>Galaxy
>better movement than anything
lmao

Banjo-Kazooie is also a video game.

Except that it was surpassed in 2002 by Super Mario Sunshine you autistic nostalgianigger

Melee comes to mind when discussing movement.

>a glitch that is an ass to use is what people consider good movement.

Melee has amazing movement, but it's weird to compare it so SM64 because they both function well in completely different contexts.

>wavedashing
>an ass to use
maybe if you have arthritis

>less moves
>less movement

>"BU-BUT SU-SUNSHINE!?!?!"

Go sucks some cocks dry, faggot.
