SPEAK UP
ʸᵉˢ ᵍᵉnᵉʳᵃˡ
I REMEMBER THE SHIPS
fuck the Iridonians and fuck the Republic, those damn weaklings
based mandos
what were the Mandalorians doing that was so bad that some of the Jedi felt the need to get involved BUT then Revan essentially created another Mandalore and asked him to reform the Mandalorian military?
did they commit loads of war crimes or something?
Mandalorians would just slaughter civilians and started an unprovoked galactic war just because they could. Mandalorians are a threat to the galaxy due to their stupid culture.
Based comfy KotOR II thread poster
They were committing numerous war crimes to force Republic to use more drastic methods and to bait Jedi into the war. Kotor Jedi were utterly retarded though, the way Bioware portrayed them and Obsidian expanded upon. If they didn't decide to act, mandos would just enter their temples and start slaughtering them anyway leaving galaxy free to take for the Sith. They had to either act or die.
>I HAVE COME FOR THE JEDI
YOUR LUCKS RUN OUT
>The one that travels with you will destroy you, as she did me. I can end it before it begins.
>She clings to hope that perhaps she can train one as great as her first. She is a fool that escaped death once, she will not do so again!
>But you don't know her as I do. You have not survived her teachings as I have. And you have not bested her in battle as I have. You are nothing. Yet still she walks with you! Is willing to sacrifice herself for you!
>You are her apprentice in name only, I AM THE MASTER.
>You should not have come to Malachor. She will break you, your mind, your body, you will be lost. Return to the surface, let the planet claim you, as it claimed other Jedi. There is no reason for you to suffer at her hands.
>It is no mercy. She will break you, as she did me, and you will no longer know yourself.
>I cannot. If you pass, you shall not return as you are now
>There is no life without the force! Force is a blade, without it one is defenseless.
>If you go before her, you will be broken. If killing you will spare you what lies ahead, then kill you I must
>There is truth in your words, but there is nothing left for me except for my master.
>Why.. why did she choose you?
>It... It was not. No matter how many I killed there was no end to the pain... the blades Force tore through my flesh
>Kreia, she will try to break you, to teach you how far someone can fall.
>I'm glad to leave this place at last
Sion was too pure for this world
please tell me she doesn't die when Malak bombs Dantooine
user...
>Powersource malfunctions
>Drops arm
Who is this snowflake whom couldn't just get a mechanical arm?
More like BaoDULL
>You were at Serroco, when they turned the Stereb cities into glass craters. At Duro, when Basilisk war droids rained like meteors onto the orbiting cities, and when the Mandalorians set fire to the Xoxin plains on Eres III—the fires that burn still.
Being huge jerks.
tell me the truth
She probably gets turned into one of his force feed bags.
it's not fair...
>tfw she unknowingly got dicked by THE sith lord
>ywn play this
>You are a crude thing, murderer, but you have your uses
The only thing I absolutely hate about Kotor 2 is redesign of Basilisks
moddb.com
Maybe he will bother to do space battles one day. Though bf2 space battles are boring anyway.
Would you charge up her boarding ramp?
Faster than you could say "Pure Pazaak"
Did she and Kavar fugg? He was almost based.
Unfortunate.
to be fair the original designs while absolutely metal are also completely fuckin retarded even by the already lax standards of a series like Star Wars
>all those sw games
>still no way to romance and fuck twilek
Luke's Jedi Academy at least was full of scantily dressed twilek and zabrak sluts.
I still have yet to play either kotor as the force focused class.
Give me the best planet order for the most kino dark side experience
And that's kinda how the Jedi fell, because the felt they we're above it all and refused to act when it needed them to.
>Why have you approached me?
I WANT TO HAND YOUR MAIDENS
I mean hi!
I want to pump that goth sith with so much light side she wears a pastel sundress.
Still mad the only twilek we get is a loli. Mission was great as a lil sister though
i want an tomboy gf will you be my tomboy gf
What about c-beams?
IMAGINE
Sion was strangely a really alright dude. I felt bad for him.
We don't KNOW it happens. There's always a chance she escaped with the other surviving Jedi. But only your heart can tell you what you truly believe became of her.
Unironically, I think KotOR II has a better story and characters than anything Lucas ever came up with.
TORtanic of all things scratches that itch. Vette is bestte. Though sadly she's not the gay option so you have to pick between your edgy apprentice or the Cute Potato.
Visas Marr was best girl
Wait, you can redeem her? I thought you end up killing her in the tomb regardless?
More nuanced, to be sure, but I don't think you can just ignore how fucking hard Lucas knocked it out of the park with Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. Literally the faces of the cinematic definitions of villain, hero and good-hearted rogue for going on 50 years.
No, you can redeem her, but you don't get that option if you go full madman and pull the quadruple cross on her and the master at the same time.
you have to talk to her more and have enough persuasion
>See Darth Sion for the first time
>"Oh gee another generic edgy villain."
>After killing him
>;_;
Damn. Light side Revan was so chad he redeemed a hot twi'lek and the long dead ghost of one of the first sith lords.
No wonder Kreia couldn’t Hear him
kek
I would argue that it's principally the presentation of those characters that is striking. If it wasn't for the action scenes and the lasers and the cool Vader mask and voice then the characters themselves aren't nearly as amazing. And it's hard to believe that Lucas was in direct control of all of that.
Not that I know though. Maybe he really was a genius to begin with and then immediately developed advanced dementia for the rest of the series.
you can't romance vette or jaesa as a female, unless they changed things
ALL HAIL LORD REVAN
ALL HAIL LORD REVAN
My heart tells me that she escaped and then we met and married and lived happily ever after
ALL THE PEOPLE
LIVING FOR TODAY
He’s not even a real person and I wish I could follow Revan into battle.
You know how you lost all your companions at the start of that one expansion? When the Sith warrior finally gets Jaesa back, if they're playing a female LS Jaesa confesses she's fallen in love with them and they get the option to fug her. Something similar happens with DS Jaesa but I haven't seen it so I don't know the particulars. Consulars get a similar cutscene with that white haired padawan.
>is capable and has destroyed entire planets by draining them of the force
>is considered an unstoppable force of nature
>dies in under a minute
and if Revan was a girl?
I would follow her into battle
NEVER CALL ME GENERAL EVER AGAIN OR YOU'LL LOSE YOUR HAND AGAIN
I dunno about dark side but I always do Nar Shaddaa, Dxun, Dantooine, Onderon then Korriban.
I just did this exact order in my own dark side playthrough. It's good because you get all the dark side characters pretty early on.
Yeah it covers a lot
>Jedi Jesus
>Silver lightsaber left behind on Coruscant
>Loved Atris but chose duty and Revan above her
>Never believes through the game that he is still a Jedi, just insists he's nothing but a washed-up old man
>Still can't help his compassion from getting the best of him, trains all possible companions in the Force, never says he's making them Jedi but there is an implication he wants them to make the Jedi into something better than he and the other old relics were.
>Romances the Handmaiden, not because she's like Atris but because she's unlike her and strong enough to stand on her own
>Forges a new, green lightsaber but sticks to blasters and only uses it when fighting the Sith.
Is this the correct way to play?
a fellow man of culture as well i see
Fem Imperial Agent or Male?Dark or light?
Light Jedi Knight or dark?
Absolute kino. Though I'm a fag that uses blue lightsabers rather than green.
>not making her the leader of the academy without killing her
Male Agent but only because female has DOGSHIT romance options. I prefer LS full-patriot that works to protect the Empire both from the Republic and from the selfish machinations of power-hungry Sith and Moffs.
JK is best as Light but only because all the dark side options are so needlessly edgy it feels stupid.
shouldn't have given the SUCC to a guy that is void of the force
Exile is a wound in the force, which is his kryptonite
Has everyone on Yea Forums read that Let's Play of KotOR 2 or what?
Imagine that the entire universe is your food, and instead of all that food you try to eat a box labeled "Poison"
>you will not erode my will
>you have eroded sion's will
OH NO NO NO NO NO SITHBROS I THOUGHT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE STRONGEST
I don't know what LP you're referring to, but that is a pretty popular way to play the Exile, since "old tired hero trying to carry on" has a natural appeal to it.
Revan understood snacks.
>Literally lives with the power of pure anger
>dies when he finally calms down
What a great concept for a SW character
>Romances Handmaiden
It's good but I've found Visas to make more sense. Shes the only one outside of Kriea who could ever understand your pain completely. How your wound in the force echoes with the death of an entire planet. Also its a classic trope of saving the bad girl through your dick.
Damn.
JK story worth playing through or all good stories on Empire side?
bombin every living thing on a planet without asking for surrender
just killing stuff for the sake of honorfully killing stuff in the most unhonorful ways possible
One day, the Exile will help me become a pretzel.
PRETZELS ARE WEAK
It's worth playing through for a couple of the companions, and establishes some lore that is relevant to future expansions you don't get the whole story on as other classes. Plus since most classes converge later on you may just like the voice for JK better than others. General consensus is that Agent is the best story by far, with LS Sith Warrior in second, DS SW in third, and Inquisitor and Consular tussling for a distant fourth.
Pretzels lie. They manipulate.
kek
>swtor niggers invade a comfy kotor thread
>again
Nigger nobody's saying to play it and ESPECIALLY not to pay for it. It just exists, and sometimes it comes up.
>tfw want to double saber for style but dual saber gives double the buffs
He seems to have a boner for ancient evil
Peragus is one of the worst, most boring tutorials/prologues in the history of vidya
"Observation: I am a droid, master, with programming. Even if I did not enjoy killing, I would have no choice. Thankfully, I enjoy it very much." - HK-47
I don't think that's for the best. I know that Lucas hated it but the more I realized it, the more that I think he was right to say that SW is always simple fairy tale stories made for kids about good and evil. I always respected KOTOR 2 but its existences is as bizarre as a mature side story about Thomas the tank engine.
In my 10+ playthroughs I've never done this. Give me other build ideas
Lucas is greatly talented and creative, even the prequels at their worse still had cool concepts, sights and a general structure that was mostly fine. I also think that's the problem though, he's a nerd first, writer second. The original trilogy was straightforward and simple, had a much younger Lucas on it and had great folks backing him up so there's less chance of the ship leaking. You really notice it with the prequel setting in general, works based off it are great and they're still using all his characters, concepts and story.
>It just exists
Unfortunately.
Fuck sake
I wish Avellone could finish the trilogy
>go single saber for Duelling
>the +3 attack/defence bonus rapidly gets outclassed by the extra attack per round from double bladed lightsaber
>dual sabers gives the same extra attack per round but can use twice as many lightsaber crystals, and even uses the same passives as double bladed
>Mockery: OH MASTER I DO NOT TRUST YOU, I CANNOT TRUST YOU OR ANYONE ELSE EVER AGAIN!
I wouldn't say it's the worst. The story in Peragus is quite interesting when playing for the first time, but when replaying and you already know the story, I agree it's drags on for too long
>Playing as a female in video games.
Absolutely trans.
To be fair Carth had a good reason to be that way. His whole life was suffering.
Honestly Paragus isn't that bad on your second run. Since you know what is going on, you start picking up all the little hints. Fuck going through it after that.
It sucks. The other saber styles are only viable in the first game.
He was replying to a post listing Jaesa as a gay option you illiterate fucking nigger.
Oh I agree, but I absolutely love that HK-47 conversation. Getting the real voice actors to say those lines made my sides leave the orbit
>fucking nigger
Absolutely trans.
installing now
downloading this game right now, loved to play dark side in kotor 1
is it as redeeming in kotor 2?
>not prioritizing style over everything else
I bet you faggots haven't even mastered pazaak.
It doesn't matter. Playing as Jedi Jesus is always the correct way to play
>loved to play dark side in kotor 1
Why, it's stupidly cartoony
I almost always go double-bladed anyway, but it still hurts to not be able to powergame with it.
What companions should I bring to each planet? e.g Atton to Nar Shaddaa
HK and Kreia
all of them
Bao Dur to Dantooine
I always wanted to play a swashbuckler type of guy that duel wielded a saber and a blaster, but the game won't let you, it's gay.
>but the game won't let you
Yeah, because that's dumb.
That's what weapon swaps are for
Atton and Visas for Korriban
>Why, it's stupidly cartoony
because i like being edgy? it's just what the game offers user i like it
Unless if you were abusing force speed or willing to spam medkits you'd just end up throwing grenades at everything like a fucking mook if you didn't take advantage of how broken double and dual sabers are.
quick recap of kotor1 before playing the 2nd part user?
Then you're at home with 2. Almost the whole game is edgy.
You're dumb.
It's not the same. I want to shoot a guy while stabbing him.
nice
You literally don't need it, and the game is better without it. Kotor2 made up 99% of the lore it refers to.
ok this is kino
Revan is a cool guy and everyone got buttmad at him for styling on the republic then he fucked off
>game crashes when alt tabbing
i hate pre 2010 games....
should i even bother with that one fan patch which restores countless shit?
You don't really need to know what went on in 1 if you're going to play 2, though you should play 1 first just because imo it's overall a better experience, and the first couple hours of 2 are a giant fucking slog. It's a completely different story, but it references 1 a few times and usually in a manner that explains why the reference itself is relevant, like when people are talking about Revan or some shit.
>his son was supposed to show up in KotOR2 as a crazed Jedi from the visions in one of Korriban's tombs
you were revan in kotor 1 right? mind force fucked to forget you were once some sith lord? something star forge early death star shit too right?
hmm i see, i fainlty remember the first hour of the game being really really boring and thus quitting
SW is for kids meme is overblown. Kotor 2 isn't that much different in tone from Episode V and Episode 3 and Republic Commando with Battlefront 2 are darker as well. Only TPM feels like for kids because of kid Anakin and Jar Jar and Ewok's parts in Episode VI. Episode IV is generic space opera. Most of the EU stuff including games is pretty neutral territory, even lending themselves to darker tones and being serious for most part. And Kotor 2 has shitton of comic relief moments like movies anyway, more so than Kotor 1 even. Basically every part where you are controlling droids is lighthearted. Hk factory, T3-M4 or B4-D4 consist almost entirely of jokes.
It's a quite popular LP from LParchive. Mainly because it's pretty in depth on explaning the point of the game and details of it.
>should i even bother with that one fan patch which restores countless shit?
yes, its essential
even if i'm playing in german
What mods should I use, besides TSLCRM
I wish you could increase combat difficulty without literally doubling skill requirements for everything. Total nonsense.
Reminder that male Revan/female Exile is canon.
Reminder that the series is fucking dead and male Revan/Space Jesus Exile is the new canon
>hmm i see, i fainlty remember the first hour of the game being really really boring and thus quitting
1 kind of has the same problem 2 does with the 1st planet being kind of fucking boring, and sticking you with Carth, but the mining facility or whatever in 2 is awful and the tutorial planet isn't much better, it's the worst part about 2. They both pick up after the first hour or two.
But what are their canon classes? Scout/Guardian makes the most sense for Revan, and Sentinel makes the most sense for the Exile.
Female Exile is cute and has a cute dynamic with Atton, therefore she's my canon.
invisible headgear
>"I hate you because you crawl within my head as she does, but your presence holds no thoughts, no teachings, you are just…there. Unspoken."
>"I hate you because you are...beautiful to me. And in that weakness lies death."
> You have eroded Sion's will. He now has penalties on will saves.
Honestly one of the most memorable SW moments I've had.
Only good prequel is The Phantom Menace because it has that distinct vibe and atmosphere. EII and EIII are generic shit also how he handled the transformation of Anakin to Darth Vader is embarassing also that casting flop with Hayden.
>sucks life of entire planets
>gets sucked by Visas
hmmmm
This
He was also right after all. But an insufferable faggot nonetheless.
I'd want to fuck one of those ones that Anakins apprentice in the clone wars was.
To be fair, he WAS tricked into doing it. It's like the label said "DELICIOUS CANDY" instead.
How is playing a Guardian? I want to play a Chad with a lightsaber over a nerd using the force as a crutch.
I can get behind most of this but why the last bit about sticking to blasters?
Significantly better single target damage at the expense of AOE. Force Jump is great quality of life too.
Literally the last character I played, except I romanced Visas and my lightsaber was viridian
best class to play as a sith?
I want to breed Handmaiden. Mira can get the fuck out though, she a shit.
The original KOToR with the Bastila lesbian mod is better than Sith Lords.
Yep. That’s how I always do it too.
Marauder is good because the damage is broken
But Sith Lord is fun if you want to corrupt all your companions with your presence
Whoa wait. You wan't to tell me there are people outside who give a fuck about Star Wars universe because anything other than games especially KOTOR 1&2? Bullshit. Everybody knows SW universe without games is abysmal dogshit.
>Why, it's stupidly cartoony
You say that like kotor 2 was any better in terms of dark side options.
so...which jedi starting class then?
>SW is for kids meme is overblown.
>Luke sees his foster parents' charred corpses unceremoniously strewn about
>Luke gets his fucking hand cut off while Space Hitler reveals he's Luke's father
>A princess is basically turned into a sex slave by a giant jew slug monster
>Casual genocide as an entire planet is destroyed
>Casual genocide again as an entire moon-sized space station is destroyed
>Casual genocide for a 3rd fucking time as an entire, even bigger, moon-sized space station is destroyed
>A dude gets his fucking head cut off during a political subterfuge betrayal scene
>A dude gets his hand cut off
>Another dude gets his arm cut off and shot out of a window with lightning and falls to his death
>Another dude gets his head cut off in front of his own son
>An immature man kills his own father
>A dude gets cut in half
>A guy gets most of his limbs chopped off by his former friend and then suffers 4th degree burns all over his body from falling into a lava river
>A guy kills his own wife in an emotional and psychotic outburst
>Casual genocide for the 4th time as 5 or 6 planets all blow up simultaneously
>Casual genocide for the 5th and probably not last time as an entire, even bigger, planet-sized space station is destroyed
This is just off the top of my head and what's shown in the movies. Anyone who thinks SW is for kids never actually watched the shit.
Because the Exile is lying to himself that he left the life of a Jedi behind and has no desire to return to it, and he only takes up his lightsaber once it becomes clear the galaxy needs him to retake the life he'd abandoned.
Are we having daily comfy Kotor threads now?
This should be canon, except swap handmaiden for Visas
>KOTOR
>better than TSL
Gameplay wise sure but the story and writing is fucking horrible in 1
Depends what build you want
Doesnt really matter, but if you want to max out one specific build type then go with the correlating class (guardian/marauder for example)
I like having a bit of fun and going consular into marauder sometimes for a hybrid
>But Sith Lord is fun if you want to corrupt all your companions with your presence
I thought this happened normally if you had high charisma and were deep into the dark or light side.
I once ate a pretzel and it made me choke now I crush pretzels into dust
>Gameplay wise sure
how? KotOR 2 is objectively better in gameplay.
god I hope so
post more kotor art
Kids weren't wusses in the 70s. It's only recently that scaring children is taboo.
No yuricuck.
Jedi gunslinger is fun. Also fits because Exile had to learn to not rely on force powers and being a Jedi and it's what Kreia wants.
Those stupid pretzels are probably joyriding through someone else's throat right now, laughing us... laughing at ME.
Its a mess of bugs crashes and total imbalance
KOTOR was at least balanced and somewhat stable
I love the idea that this creature who is nothing but rage, hate, and pain and the will to survive falls in love. And the concept is so alien, such an anthithesis to everything he is he can do nothing but try to kill the source of it.
First to free himself of it, then to save it from what he see's as worse than death, to have what he loves "ruined" like he was ruined. So he stops being this force of destruction and starts to see himself as flawed because love has revealed to him that he is still a human being.
His final act being finally giving up on an existence he's grown to despise because of fucking love is such an amazing way to end a villain. He didn't even redeem himself, he just let go of all the shit that was keeping him going, because he decided that he had faith in the woman he loved.
Honestly Sion is such a fantastic character, one of my favourite in all of Star Wars.
>Visacucks mad it mentions handmaiden instead
lel enjoy your damaged goods.
Deaths are basic ingredient for fairy tales user. They're just stories with knights and dragons but in space. Just because it's for kids, doesn't mean it can't have some cool ass kills.
Hensel and Gretel, a popular fairy tale, is literally about a cannibalistic pedo who kidnap kids.
NO NO NO NO NO
FUCK OFF YOU STUPID FAGGOT
>worst party members are forced on you
>story and writing is horrible in 1
Avellone is not a good writer. Stop sucking his cock.
>balanced
Flurry literally broke the whole balance
>Its a mess of bugs crashes and total imbalance
It's not 2004 anymore, kotor 2 got a huge update that fixed those problems. Except for the imbalance since that's inherent to the kotor series itself.
What?
you can in SWTOR but nobody played that game lol
The vast majority of iterations of Hansel and Gretel don't go through painstaking effort to describe the witch slowly being cooked alive in her own oven.
This
I will, thank you, and I hope you enjoy your Handmaiden.
But his post sounds more like he uses a blaster all the time until a Sith enemy shows up, then he switches to his lightsaber, not taking it out when the it's clear someone needs to step up and do something about the Sith.
guess I'm installing again
Gonna replay Kotor 2 with the restored content and droid planet mod. Gonna use kungfu Bao Dur. Can I make him dark side, and if so will he stop being a pissy bitch? If not I’ll just dump him for the classic Mandalore/Hanharr dream team
Basically my go to run, only the saber he leaves behind of Coruscant was orange and the one he picks up later is Cyan/Silver. Did gold once or twice too.
Also not a fan of blasters, though I appreciate that they work better thematically for the character.
Fuck off, Drew. You couldn’t write to save your life.
Y-You too.
I'd say the best point to take it out indefinitely is when Nihilus attacks Telos
>old ass game topic
>boomers come out
>easily one of the best threads on v
Big think
It's still about kids trying to kill a witch with an oven
I played a duel wielding consular for kotor 1 and I don't feel like doing that again for 2. Should I roll guardian or sentinel? I want to go with a one handed lightsaber either way because it's the most aesthetic.
>Avellone is not a good writer. Stop sucking his cock.
Where did I mention Avellone you autist? KOTOR 1's writing is fucking dogshit, worse than dogshit
The only good things is the side characters and the plot twist
Everything else is awful
Revans dialogue is horrifically cringe and Malak is the worst villain of all time
KOTOR 2 still has multiple bugs that cannot be fixed even with mods. Missing textures that cant be replaced without the game permanently crashing, dialogue skipping bug that cant be fixed, memory leak issues with saves that eventually cause a crash if you play for long periods, the game is a mess. Thats even with the latest patch and the unofficial bugfix.
I'd like to play KOTOR 2 as an RPG fan, i really would, but I can't bring myself to do it cause I hate Star Trek spin of content just too damn much. It's almost as bad as LOTR spinoff content, none of which I've ever played either.
Yeah you can turn him into a dark Jedi, he becomes less bitchy after that id say. He also gets cool Darth Maul tattoos when he starts going dark side
>droid planet mod
don't fucking do it. you've been warned
>Star Trek
Anyone else find it weird that all of the romance options are like 15 years younger than the Exile?
sentinel for the skills
*blocks your path*
>can you spare a few credits, user?
wat do?
I’ve beaten the games so many times that I can only justify a new playthrough if I have both. Is it so bad that it isn’t worth s playthrough?
Showing isn't the same thing as telling, or implying, user!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck off or die
>influence gained: Kreia
It's hard to resist space jesus charm. Also he's able to connect with people through the force whether they want too or not. Its canon.
Never use anything on any character you didn't personally craft at a workbench
Based normalfag has never heard of two adults falling in love
Sure
I can't see myself playing through this game, not for faults of the game but I'll probably just backlog it forever. Would this LP be a miniscule substitute?
Downloading KOTOR 2 now. Should I go male or female, light side or dark side, what gives the best experience? It's the only Avellone game I've yet to play.
K, what benefits does Guardian get anyway? And I'm assuming Sentinels are a kind of Jack of all trades class compared to the other two?
Dark side space Jesus playthrough of Kotor 2 is still the most kino RPG experience I’ve ever had. There was nothing better than discussing the mandalorian wars with atton and turning him dark side. Nothing better than the Dantooine mercenaries showing up on telos to help you fight Nihilus and his men. Nothing better than going marauder and tearing enemies apart next to your fully dominated hanharr. Absolutely amazing
No shit. Old fairy tales sucks because it doesn't have cool CGs like Star Wars.
>dominate mind to make him jump in the pit
Why would a powerful, successful man not go for young and pretty women? Because 40 year old roasties would get mad?
Male dark side is absolutely amazing, but I admit I haven’t had a ton of experience with other play throughs. Whatever you do, obviously remember to install the restored content mod first
>hanharr
and you lost me, hanharr a fucking shit
Because 4000 year old roasties would get mad.
Gameplaywise they're both pretty much the same, but light side gives you a kino Kreia speech.
The dialogue skipping bug is in 1 too, it's a problem with the engine, and I've never heard of the missing textures before, or in fact encountered a point in my many playthroughs where said missing textures were even apparent, and the memory leak bug is again present in both games. It's an issue with the game engine, though I've personally never encountered it myself.
Pretty much? It covers the majority of the game, while trying to be entertaining and informative.
Also the whole thing aren't videos, they're text with pictures.
oh it's absolutely dreadful, your playthrough will be ruined no doubt. seriously it's straight up atrocious, imagine the worst imaginable piece of fan made content and it's worse than that.
He’s definitely an acquired taste, but there was so much satisfaction when you finally break him to your will after so much effort. He also gets mega stats boosts after that if I remember, he can one hit most normal enemies
>he kills the jedi doing a dark side run
What age is he suppose to be? Mid to late 30's?
Male light side for Kreia and Atris
You don't have a choice if you want to help Vaklu
Male light. Exile is a Chad compared to Revan.
What's this about crashes? I never had that happen while playing it on my Xbox.
>dark jedi jesus
>"red as a laigreks eye"
>fuck that schutta Atri, fuck the Republic, fuck the Jedi, and fuck the Sith for not being as hardcore as me
>views everyone as disposable to his aims including Kreia
>trains them to be dark jedi
>turns Atton into his personal force sensitive assassin
>corrupts goth handmaiden and fucks her ass on the cargo bay floor as she submits to the will of jesus
>dual weilds blasters as main weapons, but also carries dual short orange sabers for close range combat
Don't care about gameplay, want to have the best story experience/most content.
So far consensus I'm seeing is male light side. Cool, looking forward to romancing the Handmaiden or that blind girl people keep posting.
Yeah the first one is buggy as hell too. I remembered that it crashes multiple times and sometimes it doesn't play scripted events correctly, to the point that I had to redo the entire game because the bug on Kashyyyk. KOTOR 1 was the game that taught me that I should make multiple saves while playing a western RPG.
Guardian gets force jump and better health per level
Thays about it
Sentinels get way more skills, and skills are important if you want to do everything you can in a playthrough
>>Also the whole thing aren't videos, they're text with pictures.
While probably interesting and informative, this isn't comfy enough for me to go through bit by bit on a pad in bed. What a shame.

Its not in 1, I just recently finished 1 and never encountered it once
In 2 I encounter it every time I load the game, after about an hour of playing it happens and I need to restart the game to fix it
I've looked it up and its a common issue for K2 and there is no known fix
>the story and writing is fucking horrible in 1
>has the most iconic twist in video games history
You always this dense?
I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than playing Dark Side. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are conquering, betraying, and warring for at least 18 years solely so you can go and get usurped by another Sith. All the hard work you put into your dynasty - reading ancient holocrins, playing pure pazaak, making sure the Republic is stabilized, educating Briana to betray her oaths, corrupting your friends. All of it has one simple result: your power base is more enjoyable for every man who poisons you in your sleep and becomes the newest Dark Lord.
Raised the perfect Empire? Great. Who benefits? If you're lucky, Hanharr. He gets to rape Mira's tight pussy every night. He gets the benefits of her vicious and cruel personality because of the way you corrupted her.
As a man who turns to the Dark Side, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least 20 years of your life simply to raise an empire for another man to enjoy. It is the ULTIMATE AND FINAL cuck. Think about it logically
Atris is the only for Exile anyway
>In The New Essential Guide to Droids (2006) the Exile is light-sided and female
>In The Knights of the Old Republic Campaign Guide (2008) the Exile is light-sided and female
>In Star Wars Miniatures: Jedi Academy (2009) the Exile is light-sided and female
>In The Old Republic: Revan (2011) the Exile is light-sided and female
>In Star Wars: The Old Republic (2011) the Exile is light-sided and female
I'm sorry my man..
>start kotor 2 in 2016
>enjoyed the fuck out of it
>got through half the game really quickly
>had changes in my life like starting college and other things which made my time for vidya very limited
>forgot about kotor 2 for years
>weather in my country suddenly turned to a fucking Auschwitz oven yesterday night
>couldn't sleep and decided to play kotor 2
>played for like 5 hours straight
>tfw took me like 45 minutes alone to kill those 3 Sith in the tomb of freedon nadd
Such a good game. The problem is if they make a kotor 3 it will be shit because it'll be all cinematic cutscene galore which goes against the original formula of the game which had very few of those and in general the game is clunky however if they decide to make it like the originals by making it clunky and have the semi turn based combat it will also be shit because it's not what you'd expect from a 2019 game. It would be extremely hard to satisfy the fans of the originals so I think they should just not make it. Look at dragon age inquisition as an example.
More or less my build besides the blasters. Good taste.
>tfw we will never lead an army of sith apprentice companions and mandalorians into the unknown regions to rescue revan
Hopefully you will change your mind because it's still excellent, but I understand you
Who cares? You play whatever you enjoy. If you let """external""" """""canon""""" dictate how you play, you're a weak excuse for a faggot anyhow.
Even if female Exile IS the best choice.
Feats and better BAB progression.
One of the most popular mods for KOTOR is a mod that fixes the horrible dialogue
So no I am not dense you're just a nostalgiafag who doesnt remember who terrible everything aside from the twist is
I love the game as much as anyone but Revan literally cackling like a sunday cartoon villain in the dark side route and Malak being about the same is incredibly cringeworthy
Take notice that if you talk too much to the blind girl and gain influence the handmaiden will straight up stop talking with you
I’ll say it again, Dark side male is absolutely kino, but it’s gonna be a good experience regardless. Might be better for a second playthrough. Having a mini army of dark side apprentices and a Wookiee bounty hunter with you is pretty cool
>WHYWOULDYOUDOSUCHATHING
Because fuck you, that's how
those black bars sure take their time popping int....
>Influence lost: Kreia
>Influence gained: Kreia
>hanharr
Fucking yuck
Get the Mira dark side mod ASAP
I never use that worthless dogman
So there's no way to romance Visas without irrevocably ruining my relationship with Handmaiden?
That’s fair, next DS playthrough I’ll do that for sure. Never seen Mira go dark before
There's something really satisfying about turning your living "hole in the force" into a force-powered nuclear bomb desu.
Shes basically female Atton but way easier to corrupt
Compare the pathos here to the dialogue of the Last Jedi. I was truly foolish for even thinking Disney's fortunes would be used to hire people who truly got Star Wars. Of course a megacorporation is blind and deaf to what gives something soul. So they pick bootlickers and politickers like Kennedy and Johnson instead.
This is the worst timeline.
>Kreia
It was viable, historically. Not just with pirates, but skirmishing units, even into WW1, where they were often called assault troops, who stormed trenches.
Sorry, no change
user, TOR is KotOR 3.
First of all there is a fix for the it, you just have to close out of the game and than go back in, and it is in 1, like I said it's a problem with the engine both games use. It happens when you play for extended periods of time, though it is more common in 2. But I've had it happen to me in 1 a couple of times.
I've also had very strange bugs happen in 1, for example when fighting Malak he'll turn into a non-hostile NPC(blue instead of red health) and just stand still and do nothing, forcing you to reload a previous save. I've also had all my companions turn into Zalbarr clones on the Xbox version of the game(which is considered more stable than the pc version) years ago.
I wish both kotors would get a THQ Nordic-tier remaster though, they need it.
>If they didn't decide to act, mandos would just enter their temples and start slaughtering them anyway leaving galaxy free to take for the Sith. They had to either act or die.
And by refusing to act, the Jedi Council essentially alienated the younger half of the jedi order that demanded action.
Revan essentially became like Caesar/Napoleon and gained an army that had personal loyalty to him and then used that army against the Council/Republic.
korriban is kino
Mira is fucking useless, even though Hanharr is awful. Getting niether would've been a nice choice to have.
After the end of the Mandalorian and Jedi Civil War weren't there like 20 different planets that were as badly destroyed as Telos was?
Just talk to her and learn about her before you do the same with visas
She has boobs and has some funny dialogue with handmaiden and HK-47
Plus she can be a jedi
FFS every time i initate combat i cant move
aaaaaaah
I like to play a pragmatic jedi who rediscovering the force delves deep into the dark side to channel the powers of it but it slowly affects him more and more.
Early on you can still choose to do the right thing, especially in bigger moments but the smaller moments of cruelty become more and more prevalent until all you know is hate, and death.
seriously though, walking into a room casting force wave to knock everyone to the ground and then dumping force storm to obliterate everyone while they're trying to get up is super satisfying
Is this what Kreia looked like when she was younger?
I CANT FUCKING MOVE AFTER BATTLE GUYS!?
>you will never show young Kreia how far a jedi can fall down her throat
It's just not fair.
Best cantina?
youtube.com
swtor is great, the lore is good, the art style is good, everything about it is good except the wow gameplay. I hope they make a sequel.
Turn on vsync.
i did didnt fix it
You posted it. I really like the swoop/pazaak area in that one. Onderon's one would be nice if I didn't hate it by association with its quest line.
>swtor is great, the lore is good, the art style is good,
>the lore is good
>THE LORE IS GOOD
absolutely BASED and redpilled Republic Commando poster. Incredibly redpilled picture. Incredibly redpilled taste.
Iziz easily
Best theme
"No"
Hopefully.
>Still can't help his compassion from getting the best of him, trains all possible companions in the Force, never says he's making them Jedi but there is an implication he wants them to make the Jedi into something better than he and the other old relics were.
The best part of this is that Kreia more or less outright states that the exile's companions were better than the Old Jedi Council ever could be.
That is pretty damn high praise especially considering how she spent most of the game belittling them.
>the lore is bad
>muh ancient sith
>muh revan
who fucking cares lol
swtor (in its entirety) is a highlight of the old republic era, without question. The world is a better place because of its existence.
Are you running the game above 60 fps? I know that's what cusses that problem because the engine shits itself running at any fps above is 80fps.
You might need to limit the fps in the nvidia control panel, or amd radeon settings.
yeah running it at 144hz ill try that then
>the lore is good
>who fucking cares lol
Fans of the series?
youtube.com
Is there a more kino scene than this?
You spend the entire game searching for the masters to find answers, only to have the crushing realization that they have none.
>all these typos
Why do I even bother posting on my tablet.
Everything from Dantooine to the very end at Malachor is pure kino
And it sucks because Avellone actually had more planned for Malachor but they had to rush it
>the lore is good,
It literally ruined all of KOTOR lore.
Kreia's voice actress did an absolutely incredible job during that scene in particular. I've done countless playthroughs and it still gives me goosebumps.
im a zoomer
>no Korriban Tomb Raider vidya
And let's not forget the biggest joke of Kotor 2: Bao-Dur.
Is this the one where you can give tips to a twilek trying out for a job as a dancer? One of the tips is to run around in circles and quack like a duck or some shit. She does it without question.
force speed is so broken in this game, you can 1 shot almost everything
You need water to live, but being submerged in it long enough can kill you.
Now is not the time for jesting, General.
Why is kreia against space jesus having kids with visas again??
>lore is good
They shat over every cool idea KOTOR had.
Hell, even when they had their own cool ideas, they fucked those up too, like Malgus.
KotoR II is non canon now so that shit doesn't matter, but it never really did
>implying she is
>taking anything Kreia says at face value
>implying she doesn't provoke you into fucking Visas by telling you that you can't
>Revans dialogue is horrifically cringe
Please don't remind me user.
I'm remembering how after the Revan reveal you can go around saying "I'm Lord Revan, Bow before me!" and its physically hurting me.
Please don't say that, user. It makes me sad.
the Mouse would utterly ruin the Old Republic Era with leftist identity politics, be happy that KotoR is non canon and let it rest in peace
I agree about malgus, what a waste. I liked his personality and goals.
That's Bioware "canon" which contradicts with the second game. Space Jesus is the canon Exile if you want to actually enjoy the game.
It's for the best. Bioware was so assblasted that KotoR II was better, they retconned 98% of it and turned the exile into a shitty Revan fan girl who dies. Best to let it all just wash away.
>the Mouse would utterly ruin the Old Republic Era with leftist identity politics, be happy that KotoR is non canon and let it rest in peace
Aren't those two fuckwits that worked on Game of Thrones doing a Kotor adaptation?
I almost want to see how they fuck it up more than TOR did.
>Aren't those two fuckwits that worked on Game of Thrones doing a Kotor adaptation?
No, even worse. The writer for Terminator Genisys (Laeta Kalogridis) is working on it.
TOR was pretty problematic all things considered, 2011 was still a different time
all the gay npcs in the game were quarantined on one planet (Makeb). The community dubbed it "the gay planet"
I can believe they fucking killed T3-M4. Little guy was just as much Exile's droid as HK-47 was Revan's.
Bioware has a serious bee in their bonnet about Obsidian now. They're not going to let them use any of their IP's because everytime they do they blow BW out.
Which sucks because if Obsidian got the go ahead to make a new SW's game, or a trilogy, and were given the time and resources to finish I genuinely think they could reengage the fanbase in SW games.
>implying she doesn't provoke you into fucking Visas by telling you that you can't
Pretty much.
Doesn't she do something similar with the exile training the handmaiden to be a jedi?
Tells you not to do, you do it, and then uses the opportunity to fuck with Atris's paranoid mind afterwards?
>and droid planet mod
I implore you to reconsider.
you faggots just made me download the game and replay it for the hundredth time,I also don't really like star wars as a whole but Kotor games are great
>Bioware retconned Kriea from being a character to WOOOOOOOAH CRAZY EBIL DRIVEN MAD BY SITH HOLOCRONS!!!!!!
Maybe old Obsidian. Nu-Obsidian has lived long enough to see themselves become Bioware. These are sad times.
>can't
I'm doing a dark side playthrough. Should I kill the Jedi Masters or not?
pretty kino but I don't like using blasters
they are so uncivilized
small steps corrupt
Depends on how you feel about the republic.
My last hope for them is Outer Worlds. After that, yeah I got nothing
Absolutely based post.
What?
Obsidian still puts out good games, they just had the business savvy to stick to smaller titles because every time they waded out into the big leagues they either got buried by companies with more money to throw into the games/advertising or held back by bigger company's holding IP's to ransom. We saw that culture chew up and kill a lot of the smaller studios but Obsidian played it safe and are still kicking if of weaker cultural import than they were a decade ago.
Seems like they made Outer Worlds without that sweet Microsoft money, so it won't look fantastic, but as long as it's still got that creative flair and attention to detail in it's storytelling I won't mind.
What will be the real test will be there next game. Whether they can maintain their quality with Microsoft breathing down their necks. Hope so though.
Never kill the jedi masters, you gain nothing from doing it, and you miss out on the kino kreia scene.
I think the Republic is WEAK
I recently finished a LS Guardian playthrough. Each master taught me something, so if I kill them I don't learn new lightsaber and force forms?
My Padawan Can't Possibly Be This Cute
>and you miss out on the kino kreia scene.
To be fair, the dark side version is still pretty kino where Kreia lays out the exact reasons that you are a piece of shit.
>You have failed me, Completely and utterly.
If you want to free Onderon from the republic, you will have to kill the masters. Think you get the same shit when you kill them, maybe a fp buff too.
>Romance Brianna
>Train her as a Jedi
>Get to watch Atris flip her shit that the Handmaiden betrayed her oaths AND stole her man
>And is a more powerful Jedi to boot
Kreia had to be at least a LITTLE proud of her daughter after all of that.
So siding with General Vaklu means killing Master Kavar? And if you kill one Jedi Master then the others attack you on Dantooine?
Yes, even if you're a lightside paragon man and spared all of the other masters
I think the Jedi Masters on Dantooine attack you no matter what(?), and if you chose not to fight Kreia kills them for you.
Too bad. In my LS playthrough I sided with the Queen but that General did sound pretty based
He almost was, but he wound up completely drinking the Sith's kool-aid and would have been their brainless puppet if he took charge.
>tfw enjoy being the 'hero' in RPGs
>tfw can't do 'villain' choices aside from blatant shit like dabbing on Kai Leng
Will I enjoy kotor as a near-exclusive light side fag?
Yes, the majority of lightside choices are completely reasonable and work out well for you.
Kotor 1 - yes
Kotor 2 - if you go full LS, prepare for endless nagging from Kreia
This But it's worth mentioning that the game also encourages being a good person - just not a brainless moralfag.
dabbing on Kai Leng IS the hero choice
Yes and no. Following light side gives you somewhat of a standard Star Wars story, with hints of something different going on. You will piss of Kreia, losing a ton of good story in the process, but whats left is still a good story.
The real good shit from KotoR II comes from mixing it up a bit. Light and Dark in the right combination.
she wants you to fuck her daughter in the echani way
>Kreia is the mother of the handmaiden
Is this confirmed?
Not officially, but it doesn't matter anyway since the game is non-canon anyway. So many fans just consider it true to the games story.
>dabbing on Kai Leng
>villain
This just might be the dumbest post on the board right now.
Never explicitly, but the clues have been pieced together enough over the years that the playerbase is pretty much convinced of it, and Avellone has accepted it as "valid" at least once or twice. It's one of those mysteries that doesn't have a real relevance to the plot, just a background detail that people picked up on.
It's ambiguous and not outright stated in the game. But the details of both their lives match to a degree that it was obvious where a sequel would go.
giving kai a omnitool necktie is a (((renegade))) prompt so Teckneckly
People who still asking this question needs to read this
lparchive.org
I read your post and liked it. I wanted it give you a (you). I just wish that those aspects were actually more focused on and explored. A game about the failings, successes and passions of characters would be really great. If only the industry today would allow such investments to be made.
Is there any other game that has choices like kotor2?
Nigger what? Dantooine should be after Nar Shadaa
>voice actor whispers all his lines
I used to think they were giant easter island heads with funny haircuts when I played this game as a kid.
I feel that HK-47 was kind of shoehorned into KOTOR 2.
I mean you already have so many great companions that throwing someone who has a completely different objective that goes nowhere is awful.
>the art is good
>posts a creature that looks like elmer fudd
That got a hearthy chuckle out of me, have a (you).
Why?
>Kai Leng
What in the flying fuck were they thinking. I still can't comprehend it. When I saw him,it threw me out of game completely. He is straight out of deviantart.
>Agree to do something about the sith when you talk to them one-on-one
>Decide to go back into hiding as a group
What was their fucking problem?
>I never asked for this
They genocided the Cathar
they were afraid
It was the republic's fault for basing thier military in civilian sectors
I can fully understand your pain. Not to mention that movies and games have become huge investments that are not allowed fail so we will get watered down products that follow very carefully crafted formulas to appeal to main stream media addicts and Chinese people. It will not get better friend. We will not see a movie with the writing of KotoR in our lifetime.
Based and lightpilled
N
user was asking about bad things the mandolorians did
how would Kreia react if exile said the n-word?
yea. Serocco got it the worst literally nuked into oblivion
It's one thing to genocide a people, but to boil them all in the sea is a bit much
>they were afraid
But of what?
Yes, if your persuasion is high enough and you pick the right options. She flees to Dantooine and you can meet here there, where she tells you she met up with her old master who broke into tears upon seeing her return
>Play as a saint
>Talk to Krei and explore her conversation conceding points to her
>Suddenly I'm the bad guy
It was a different time
>play as "saint"
>concede points to a literal fucking Sith Lord
lmao @ your entire life cuck
I don't think the Cathar genocide ever happened.
Died in childbirth or something...
Good. You opened this message. This is actually asari military command. We're busy tending to what's left of our planet. So you survived fight on Thessia. You're not as weak as we thought. Now an entire planet is dying because of the Reapers. The legend of Shepard needs to be written. I hope I'm there for the last chapter. It ends with your triumph.
>But of what?
Of change
Of what the exile represented
Of confronting the Sith and dying without accomplishing anything
Of being responsible for the pain of the wars
But despite being a sith, she was correct, from a certain point of view
Remember back to your early teachings, all who gain power are afraid to lose it. Even the Jedi.
from a sith point of view
>What age is he suppose to be? Mid to late 30's?
Likely late 30s. Canonically the Exile is exactly a decade older than Bastila.
kek
>Revanchist conspiracy
I actually contemplated that, but there's not enough evidence either way
>The Jedi Council are crippled into inaction out of fear
>The Jedi Exile survives Malachor V because of fear
I'm not even kidding, that is pure Pottery.
>Likely late 30s. Canonically the Exile is exactly a decade older than Bastila.
Yeah, Mira says something along the lines that the exile isn't physically old, but spiritually is.
The exile saw some real shit during the war.
youtube.com
one of my favorite scenes, and I'm not even sure why
No, thats Taris in KotOR 1. Telos has a twilek dancer who's been sold into dance slavery to pay off her boyfriend's pazaak gambling debt, you can free her or keep her enslaved and take her profits for yourself.
Losing the Force. Probably the scariest thing for a Jedi
>one of my favorite scenes, and I'm not even sure why
I love it because it is the first hint you get that Atton is more than just an expy of Han Solo.
>Have you come with questions?
To this day the dark side scene is one of my favourite in vidya. Just started a female Sith Marauder who dual weilds blasters. What's the fastest way to get HK?
youtube.com
Not a fan of that video. The scene loses a little impact when you cut out the exile's responses.
It’s randomized with RCM. But Nar Shaddaa first is your best bet
How do I be neutral?
How do you make Bao-Dur a Jedi? He stopped having anything to say early on into the game.
They're older than that
Atris and Exile are around the same age and Atris was already a Jedi Historian 40 years before the game takes place
Dark side + all masters spared is the GOAT way to play it. After like 20 playthroughs the last one was this method and I believe it's the best way to finish this game.
Please, no more.
You can fuck a Togruta in TOR as a Sith Inquisitor
>Atris and Exile are around the same age and Atris was already a Jedi Historian 40 years before the game takes place
When is all of that mentioned?
>not playing KOTOR on your phone
>"I hate you because you are...beautiful to me. And in that weakness lies death."
wtf i love sion now.
Getting influence by curing the guy in the Refugee Sector, fixing the speeder, and getting the atmospheric sensors on Dantooine
he's just saying it so he can believe it
>You will piss of Kreia, losing a ton of good story in the process
It pisses me off that some people still don't know having a negative influence score can also unlock the exclusive dialogue options
>Atris was already a Jedi Historian 40 years before the game takes place
Atris isn't that old user.
Kreia fits that criteria more.
read it
I did a Jedi Jesus playthrough, but didn't finish my FemExile run. All these constant threads is making me want to go back.
I think the most impact the scene ever had was when I replayed the game after several years and it came out of the blue. I hadn't gone on a killing spree, I had just sided with Vaklu on the first planet and things went on from there
Go away
>After the end of the Great Sith War that was started by the Sith Lords Exar Kun and Ulic Qel-Droma, the Jedi historian Atris attempted to revise the broken system of Jedi apprenticeship.
>The Great Sith War, also known as the Sith War, the First Sith War, the Exar Kun War and the Great Shadow Crusade to the Mandalorians, was a galaxy-wide conflict which took place in 3996 BBY.
>3976 BBY - The Mandalorian Wars begin with the Battle of Althir. The Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders begin conquering independent worlds along the Outer Rim.
>3951 BBY - The Peragus Mining Facility is destroyed.
Jedi Dark Side Hanharr is true mans choice. Also when I first played through I did only duel blasters and just rapid fired through both games
To have the Jedi Masters brought low by such a failure, there is no victory in that.
>your lightsaber wasn't red, was it?
>"ACTUALLY"
>playing KotOR on your phone
Reminder that "canon" in role-playing games is just an unnecessary rule for autists who can't pick their own adventure.
Kotor2 is actually pretty flexible with whatever you did on the first game and you can choose Revan's gender and alignment.
>not playing kotor at every possible moment
It really is summer huh
That feels completely unimmersive. Why would I want to play rpg on small screen, in public, with all those people walking and talking around and world being noisy in general. There is no pleasure in that, you can barely focus on game in such environment.
Sion is the one reason why I'd be okay with a movie adaptation making the Exile female
>not roleplaying as a scoundrel who isn’t cartoonishly evil, but not interested in anything unless it earns him a profit
>not taking the Jedi training as an excuse to be even more able to trick marks into giving you money, abusing mind trick, and lying to the council about all the light side bullshit
>not slowly coming to terms with your responsibility as you fall in love with Bastilla and realize the consequences of your actions as she shows concerns about falling to the dark side
>not making a slow transition into a selfless hero who occasionally has to struggle with his impulses
>you continually keep killing them and the next one is progressively afraid you'll kill them
Always hilarious.
>he can't visualize the entire game in his mind
>massively gimping yourself because muh han solo
Looked like Dooku was wearing this shirt while at the beach in the thumbnail.
Confirmed by who? The connections are very obvious writing wise. The fact that Echanni look like their parents is a clear way to show how Kreia looked in her youth. Atton even partially references this when he says that she must have looked good at one point in her life.
>caring about minmaxing in a fucking bioware game
Why are red lightsabers so synonymous with the Sith and being evil? How come there isn't a single Sith that has a non-red light saber, and no non-Sith that has a red light saber? Does no one in the SW universe pick their lightsaber crystal based on color preference, or if they do does everyone who like red just happen to be evil? For that matter, why the hell is every Sith so psychotic and evil, they're all fucking ridiculous stereotypes, there's never any Sith who's just kind of a dick but doesn't get a hard on for murdering orphans or whatever.
Best droid.
>needing to consciously remember the game
Kavarr was pretty based. He actually went and fought the Mandolorians in the early years but left when he couldn't handle the brutality of the war. He felt himself slipping to the dark side. He wasn't strong enough to walk the Exile's path.
Every question you asked is wrong in some critical way that suggests you never even attempted to look for the answers.
If you play video games in public you're almost certainly a faggot unless maybe you're doing it on the subway or at the DMV. You put games on your phone for some late night in bed gaming for when you're too cheap to buy a handheld for a single game.
Why is anonymous so synonymous with being a faggot?
It's because it's multi-purposed. It's the first hints you have that Kreia is manipulative and deeper than her stick-up-her-ass royal attitude. The fact that they're separated by a cage yet Kreia uses both her wits and Force powers to bind Atton to the party makes it great.
There's several scenes that are my favorite, like when Kreia stares into Atton and goes 'and the why.... AH.... and there is its heart'. The *ah* sound still gives me goosebumbs. Like, fucking hell.
It's great background party banter that doesn't usually get attention. Also the part where Kreia goes: 'you will not find blind obedience a difficult Master.... you chose it once. You will learn to embrace it again', really nail how deep Kreia got to fucking with Atton.
And when you come back to see Kreia, it's hilarious
>oh what happened to Atton
>hmmm, I dunno, I guess he was tired
>huh, okay then
The narrative doesn't even make you question it further even though the audience was present.
>playing on easy
lmao
Brianna's haircut really ruins it for me.
>honest solider on Taris
>struggling padawan on dantooine
>reasonable jedi on tatooine, kashyyk and manaan
>shaken by Karath's revelation that you're revan
>increasingly ruthless on koriban without Bastilla
>straight up fall to the dark side on rakata prime
>have zaalbar kill mission and then kill zaalbar
>conquer the galaxy with the star forge and battle meditation
Because red is the colour of danger. And Lucas was very adamant about evil being represented in that color. In the behind the scenes of Attack of the Clones documentary, he spells it out to Samuel L Jackson that 'that's just how it is'.
>Why are red lightsabers so synonymous with the Sith and being evil?
Red lightsaber crystals are exceedingly rare in nature, but artificial crystals made in a lab turn red by nature of the process. Sith never had access to natural sources of these crystals, so their artificial red crystals became eponymous with them. Plus, you can strengthen (in certain ways) an artificial crystal so Sith took pride in believing their red crystals were better than the Jedi's.
>How come there isn't a single Sith that has a non-red light saber, and no non-Sith that has a red light saber?
Exar Kun, Darth Bane, and most versions of Darth Revan had non-red lightsabers, just off the top of my head. Purple was a somewhat common color among unorthodox Sith. Jedi rarely had red lightsabers for the reason above: there are almost no natural red crystals, and the harvesting of a crystal in nature is a critical step in a Jedi's training.
>Does no one in the SW universe pick their lightsaber crystal based on color preference, or if they do does everyone who like red just happen to be evil?
Some Jedi DO pick based on color, but for most their crystal actually harmonizes with the Force within them, they choose the crystal that calls out to them. Blue and green are most common, yellow and purple are rarer. Red is basically an anomaly.
>For that matter, why the hell is every Sith so psychotic and evil, they're all fucking ridiculous stereotypes, there's never any Sith who's just kind of a dick but doesn't get a hard on for murdering orphans or whatever.
There were a fucking ton, the issue is that the dickheaded Sith would constantly usurp and assassinate them for power-grabbing purposes. The Sith as an order were flawed because they were self-defeating and could never be truly unified, instead squabbling with one another and murdering their best and brightest out of fear they'd gain power.
>did they commit loads of war crimes or something?
Yes.
ALLEGEDLY
Allegedly by fucking themselves. They tell you as much in both KotOR games, that they did as many heinous things as they could think of to try and goad the Jedi into a full-scale war.
>Red is basically an anomaly.
Huh, interesting. Just like the Sith are the imbalance and an anomaly that needs to be corrected, it's reflected with their lightsaber color.
>roleplaying in KOTOR 1
Literally how
oh and it worked beautifully
>we'll just keep nuking planets
Darth Revan literally uses a purple lightsaber
Mind you, that's the Legends canon. I don't know what dumb shit Disney has tried to implement but I've heard something retarded that they torture lightsaber crystals to make them "bleed" and turn red. Why they would do this, I have no fucking clue.
Purple AND red. Never forget that the combination of both is important to his character.
I always regarded Revan as female, with Jedi Jesus as the Exile. Just seemed to click right with me.
>Just like the Sith are the imbalance and an anomaly that needs to be corrected,
What sense does that make, Anakin was supposed to bring balance to the force and he did it by reviving the Sith and basically executing every Jedi. The force isn't supposed to be just light side jedi.
>Why are red lightsabers so synonymous with the Sith and being evil?
The old explanation is that red sabers are created by a type of synthetic crystal that Sith use. Before Shev the Jedi had access to a planet full of natural crystals so they had mostly blues and greens.
>How come there isn't a single Sith that has a non-red light saber
There are plenty, usually fallen jedi that have kept their old saber.
> For that matter, why the hell is every Sith so psychotic and evil, they're all fucking ridiculous stereotypes, there's never any Sith who's just kind of a dick but doesn't get a hard on for murdering orphans or whatever.
Because the dark side is fucking evil. There is no "light side" of the force. There's the force and the twisted dark perversion of the force used by evil people to do evil things.
Well the bleeding, as far as I've red it, implies a sense of corruption. So while dumb as fuck, it at least still works to convey that the Sith are an imbalance and corruptive force that need to be removed. Like cancer.
I partially think that it's more symbolic than 'oh red is just rare' because with the bleed shit, there is no red. You have to deliberately corrupt shit for it to exist.
He sure as fuck didn't when I played him.
I liked the over the top edge warrior apprentice. Girls talking about brutally murdering people turns me on.
stfu lightcuck
You're only looking at Revenge of the Sith like every idiot that thinks balance is an equilibrium by looking at the word 'balance'. Balance always means a return to the status quo by destroying evil. Anakin fucked shit by choosing the Sith over the Jedi by cutting down Windu. But he ultimately fulfilled the prophecy by sacrificing himself and killing Palpatine in Return of the Jedi (the Jedi that returns is him, as well as the Jedi as a whole).
The Force is not a dualistic force, it's a single entity that the Jedi become in tune with by being zen but it has a negative side effect (a dark side) where if you use it selfishly with your passions as a tool, you become corrupted. As much as The Last Jedi is shit, it correctly made the case that the Jedi dying would not end the Force. The Jedi are servants of the Force and only exist to not use the Force selfishly and kill any Dark Jedi or Sith that do use the Force selfishly.
>The force isn't supposed to be just light side jedi.
A) There is no light side
B) Jedi are supposed to live in harmony with the Force
C) The dark side is to the Force what cancer is to your body
>dude just live in balance with the cancer by having an equal number of cancer cells as non-cancer cells
Same.
>spends an entire shore leave in a drunken fit of murder and sex and sexy murder and murderous sex
>Do so many war crimes that they need to try creating a star-powered fleet builder
>Do so many war crimes to power and build the fucking thing that it gains sentience and absorbs the lifeforce of anything around it
It's stupid because in disney canon they have to either be a former Jedi or can only get crystal by killing Jedi so they have incredibly small chance of getting a lightsaber. Also it is not possible for dark side user to use anything else than red which is gay. Old explanation was better and less limiting imo.
You must really suck at the game. Did the baby need a guide?
>A) There is no light side
>B) Jedi are supposed to live in harmony with the Force
>C) The dark side is to the Force what cancer is to your body
This guy gets it. I honestly hate this whole 'light side of the Force'. There is no light side because it implies that the Force is dualistic like some yin-yang shit. If it were, good and evil would exist side by side in harmony, when that's not the case. In Star Wars, evil is clearly presented as an anomaly that must be destroyed for peace to return. Good always wins, but evil always returns and must be continually defeated.
That was the Rakata though
I agree that it's weirdly limiting for no reason but it's partially ironic by making the Sith rely on the Jedi that they despise. I think it's also better since having a Dark Side user have a blue lightsaber would be gayer. No more morally grey shit. You're evil and that's all you're ever be.
So what happens if you use force lightning to kill someone who you'd otherwise kill with a lightsaber or force pushing them off a ledge or something? Does this make you an evil cancer anime villain just because, or what? The Jedi kill people all the time in the name of "good," so what would happen if you used a Force power normally attributed to the dark side for good? If I force choked Palpatine to death instead of throwing him into a reactor or cutting him in half would that be evil and wrong and bring me closer to the dark side? Are dark side powers inherently evil and corrupting on their own, or is it their typical use that draws one deeper to the dark side and into further corruption?
Brainlet here. Was she right? Is it even possible to follow her teaching?
>Want to have the greatest war in all of history
>Revan breaks them so hard that they slowly become extinct as a culture afterwards
Fuck the Mandalorians, they got what they fucking deserved.
>so what would happen if you used a Force power normally attributed to the dark side for good?
Force powers having alignment is mostly stuff done only for the sake of gameplay. Luke uses force choke just fine in Ep VI.
>Anakin was supposed to bring balance to the force and he did it by reviving the Sith and basically executing every Jedi.
He did it by killing Palpatine and himself
youtube.com
yes
no
>o what happens if you use force lightning to kill someone who you'd otherwise kill with a lightsaber or force pushing them off a ledge or something?
+Dark Side points. There's a reason why powers are classified as 'light', 'neutral' and 'dark'. Light Side powers are only self-defense powers, neutral powers are those that reinforce the self, and Dark Side powers are those that intentionally harm others. I personally don't like Force Lightning as an example because every idiot points to that one electric lightning power that's used by one Jedi and it fucks things up.
So let's use Force Push (can only be used for self-defense purposes) and Force Choke. If you just Force push someone, you're not killing them unless you're intentionally causing their death. The exception to this is when someone tries to kill you. Jedi are basically pseudo-pacifist that never kill unless someone tries to kill them. So there's nothing wrong with Force pushing Palpatine down the reactor chaft, but Force choke tens to only be used in an aggressive manner, never in self-defense. It's why Anakin used it in Revenge of the Sith on Padme to show his corruption.
The Jedi never kill anyone with murderous intent, only in self-defense which is a weird contradiction but that's just how it works. It's all about the intent as to whether you're using your powers selfishly or not, and whether it's in self-defense.
Yes.
Yes but people are too weak
They did WHAT?
Yep. She basically texts Atris that her handmaiden betrayed her.
Kavar fucks the queen, of course he wants your head if you aid the rebellion.
>Kavar fucks the queen, of course he wants your head if you aid the rebellion.
What happens on Dantooine if you side with all the Jedi but then end up killing Kavar because you sided with Vaklu?
>let the force act through you
>not dark side
>twist the force for whatever purpose, even one that is seemingly good
>dark side
