It's not a bad game though, it's the best when it comes to simulating the feel of being a space pilot even if the metagame surrounding it feels barebones.

No, that's not all it needs to be a good game. >The gameplay is extremely repetitive, hollow, and pointless and it doesn't take long to notice.

You played for so long exactly because the core of the game (flying around) is great but you are focusing on the side metagaming of it and bringing up things that have zero bearing on the gameplay too.

No it isn't, it's the perfect game for people that want a more interactive Space Engine or Truck Simulator with lasers for example, it has 10/10 audio and no space game comes close to its immersive detail, you posted exactly this post in other words.
