Haven't gotten the chance to play this because I'm waiting for PC release. What other fighting games is the gameplay similar to? I'm new to fighting games and from what I've seen this looks a little simpler than Tekken and Street Fighter.

I'm also not really familiar with fighting games, but FGC friends have let me know there's nothing really like Samsho. Best thing you can do to try it outside seeing if you can play someone else's copy is to play other Samsho games on Fightcade or something

Tekken is a bad comparison even for saying it looks different. 2d fighters and 3d fighters are so fundamentally different that it's meaningless to put them together.
Anyway samsho is most like super sf2 turbo. Big on reads and neutral, short combos, big damage.

I play both pad and stick and play 4 button games on pad, including this and KoF13. What you say is not true and there is no fumbling involved. Some games are better on stick and some are better on pad, though it is preference. People saying the pad is holding them back are just making excuses unless they are doing something retarded like playing on the analog or a 360 pad dpad.

The whole OST of new Samsho is probably the best I've heard in 2019 among all videogames. Amazing to hear individually, fits the atmosphere and actually not intrusive to hear ingame (sans Yashamaru's theme probably)

the game is definitely very interesting but i don't see it ever breaking into the tekken/SF tier of popularity due to it being less flashy and slower paced

It is good, but I find some of it to be stuff I wouldn't want to listen to for too long. If I played Tam Tam I wouldn't be too happy about having to hear his theme every match. I wish you could just choose what song is playing instead of it being out of your control, and the default could just be as it is now.
