Kamuro might be a shitty part of town but its my part of town. After 12 years of playing games in this place i dont think i know any video game streets better than these ones. Feels like home.

Fuck kabukicho. A bunch of filthy niggers trying to scam you into their titty bars and salaryman passed out with vomit all over themselves. Tokyo is a hellhole.
>t. Kansai literally who
>reusing assets for 12 years
it's ok when japan does it
Are we having a judgement thread? Let's hope so because the last two or so died somewhat abruptly, which isn't really surprising considering the niche nature of the game.
Anyways, has anyone had that happen to them? Am I supposed to progress the main story for these two side cases to unlock or what?
Yakuza's had the same map for like ten years and people lap this shit up
After spending 1 month in kabukicho yakuza games are too boring. I literally killed the magic
Shinjuku is so big and Kabukicho is so backalley that I've only entered Kabukicho for Toho cinema
I lived in Kansai for two years and have currently been living in Tokyo for 2. Kansai is so much better than shitty fucking Tokyo, it’s not even close
Yeah not to worry had the same thing happen on my game for the panty thief story. Just progress a little bit and it'll activate.
I honestly worry this game will kill localisation of the franchise again. Only serious fans will know its ties to Yakuza, and the PC crowd may wait out their purchace resulting in less sales and by extension, possibly no PC port at all.
it was just a in game joke bro. Kansai thugs always coming into Kamuro starting trouble?
Same.
You worry to much. All is fine in the yakuza world.
The thing is, the city here is a character unto itself. I have literally watched these streets change since 2007
I really would like our Y3,4 & 5 ports to PS4 though. It would be cool to have the entire saga in one place. Where are those at?
Sorry friend. Tokyo is poisoning my mind and making me a bad person.
are there cute girls where you at? Never had a Japanese lady and id like to run my fingers through some of that famous pussy hair just once.
I agree but how would i know where they are at? Disnt 5 remaster literally just release in Japan? I would expect them to release it as a trilogy set over here instead of individual releases. I think if we dont hear about it at from Sega at TGS this year then it isnt coming.
>I honestly worry this game will kill localisation of the franchise again.
It might kill the voiced localization for the future products, but not the localization of Yakuza games in general. Also Kiryu's games were never voiced in english to begin with apart from the original.
I still think Ichiban's game might get a full localization as a sort of a last ditch effort
AYO BLAP BLAP BLAP WHERE IT AT OFFICE GIRLS
Is judgement out already? I thought it was way off
lmao who the fuck is playing Judgement in anything but the original Japanese dub??
>is judgement out
sure is.
I don't blame you since Sega dropped the ball with the marketing pretty hard with this one.
>tfw learning tiger drop
Huh, bravo sega you did zero marketing overseas. I might buy it today if its as good as yakuza
Brehs... but literally nothing will ever touch 1980's Reina holy shit Kiryu and Nishki had shit taste, like holy shit.
30 mins of playing yakuza games make me want to go search up Japanese facial compilations
Anyone who isn't a die-hard fan which for most franchises would be the overwhelming majority.
Yakuza is still super niche despite Y0's smashing success so all of us are obviously playing in japanese which once again wouldn't be the case if the series was more popular.
This whole thing further exacerbates Judgment's weird state where as a game it's even more niche than Yakuza but also has english voices which I'm sure cost Sega a pretty penny, meanwhile the marketing campaign was such a failure that there are plenty of people that don't even know the game came out at all.
The saddest thing about it is that Judgment is actually REALLY fucking good as far as RGG games go. If you loved Yakuza you're in for a treat with this one.
probably the best yakuza game since 0 honestly, it's everything that 6 should've been and more
only downer is that there's a lack of side shit to do but the main story definitely makes up for it
0 was a weird anomaly. the franchise has slowly returned to niche/cult status with a small, but loyal fanbase.
You know despite being a long time fan, i have never looked at how many copies these games sell, any info?
>Yakuza fans have literally played the same game 7 or 8 times
you seem upset
>Yakuza fans play games
will this game nuke my slim ps4
I finished Sana's side case, how long do I have to wait before she wants to fuck?
>Tokyo is a hellhole
Complete nonesense, while Osaka is much better Tokyo is still quite clean and well maintained. Kabukicho is a small part of Shinjuku, I've been there and it's very uninteresting if you're not into the nightlife. The niggers are also a non-issue mostly, I just ignored them for the most part and they stopped bothering me.
>slim
I think you mean "PS4 amatuer" bro.
She's Japanese so probably pretty quick. She will probably say some shit like "i guess it cant be helped" and suck half hartedly your tip for 20 secs before you nut all over her face or something. Thats Japanese right?
They need to either expand the map or add more accessible areas within Kamurocho. Jumping between rooftops near the batting center makes me wish more buildings could be explored like that.
I sure hope you enjoy playing action games at 24fps
Wait I thought it wasn't out yet? Did I accidentally crawl under a rock?
Expanding the map is actually kinda difficult since Kabukicho is fairly self-contained irl. Adding another map, maybe another Tokyo location, would be better imo.
>t. some idiot who said yes
Nah, Sega just forgot to do marketing.
champion district... home
desu what bothers me is how loud it gets
Barely playable pc port when
Portfags need to fucking die
like hanging at tranny bars huh?
thats tight, i'll be moving to Osaka in a year for one or two years. care to hook an user up with some protips?
When I went to Shinjuku alone to watch the Robot show I was first stopped when walking to get my ticket, some Japanese guy who asked me what I was doing tonight, after I told him I was going to watch the robot show he said ok and walked off.
After the show it was darker and the instant I walked out and towards the main street I was stopped by another Japanese guy, but I said I was just going home so he let off.
But at the main street some nigger approached me and I read about this before coming so I knew that these were infamous Nigerian scammers.
He was a lot more persistent than the Japanese guys, I had to tell him that I was just on my way back to the hotel to sleep at least four or so times while walking away to eventually get him to stop trying.
He was asking me if I wanted to try "Real Japanese girls for a special price".
Even if I hadn't read about this beforehand I can't imagine how people fall for scammers like this, it was immediately obvious he went specifically for me because of how much of a Gaijin I looked like.
I used to actually work around that area (across the street from golden gai). Playing yakuza always feels nostalgic as fuck because of that.
this, i got goosebumps playing the game for the first time after having been there
What's the scam?
I'm not sure exactly how they scam you or if they just mug your ass but when someone comes up to you speaking perfect English and talking about giving (you) as special price, just for (you).
Then you know you are being scammed.
They promise japanese ladies, lots of sex and shit. They drag you into a club, overprice you to hell and back, booze you up (hundreds of dollars a bottle) and charge you badly. Worst part? No sex.
you are lured into a bar and are coerced to pay for drinks costing up to $50 per glass. if you refuse they might beat you up. that's the best case scenario.
worst case is you get drugged and taken for all the money you might have on your bank account
The worst part? It got so bad that the fucking US Embassy told tourists to avoid niggers. Seriously.
I just got Ryan Acosta, does he actually just show up for all my street brawls at this point because it kind of seems like that
Damn, do they work for the yakuza or something?
i got him a few hours ago too and he doesn't show up for every single one but you can count on him showing up to most of them
IRL Kabukicho is so fucking trash, especially in the middle of the night after everyone has gone home for the most part. i wanted to go to the 7/11 right by the entrance to Kabukicho and that was a 5 minute walk at worst. about 4 prostitutes and 1 drug dealer approached me in the span of going to grab a pack of cigs and coming back. 0/10
Probably some, but this is literally immigrants who showed up as labor. They have a bad image because of bullshit like this.
the word on the street is that they work for them, yeah. but there is a lot of lone criminals roaming the streets as well
I want to play it really badly but don't want to fall into shitty framerates again as I have an original ps4. I'm holding out for a PC release so I can play at a stable framerate.
What parts of Tokyo should I be avoiding when I visit next year? Is Kabukicho too much of a shithole in real life to bother with?
Remember how they skipped over 6 though? Anything could or could not happen with PC. By then its too late and you didn't support it
Wonder how much they spent on the dub though. It seems really amateurish compared to usual video game dubs.
I thought they changed it pretty heavily each game.
Honestly there is no place I'd say you should definitely avoid.
Shinjuku at night can get you approached by the aforementioned niggers or just regular Japanese tellers who want you into their hostess club, but as long as you firmly say you aren't interested and walk away you will be fine, it is only when you enter their businesses you are in a shit position.
Its the same town, but it updates with the times. New business open, others close. There aren't any phone boxes anymore in 2018.
it's not so much that it's dangerous or a shithole or anything, it's more than apart from the robot cafe, the cinema and the sony, i think, center there is not a lot to do. it's mostly a lot of bars, places to eat, brothels (most of which you won't be allowed to enter btw), titty bars and that's it really. if you want to get your dick sucked you can go to Happy Hinomaru, they allow foreigners in. it's quite expensive though, i would not recommend it. you might aswell go to any other place in tokyo where people get together to drink, kabukicho is not that special. shinjuku has much more to offer in terms of fun(tm)
I agree completely. I have bought the same game (and remakes and remasters) almost 10 times over by now. I want to keep doing this forever. I don't like that Judgement has a new main character. I want Kaz back for another 10 games in the same location and with the same gameplay.
there are yakuza games being released every month now. the "support yakuza in the west" meme is dead. if anything they're milking it too much.
> I want Kaz back
Why though, his story is done and it's clear the writers have no idea what to do with him anymore, his latest appearances do more bad than good for his character at this point (and before Majimafags start you guys are even worse, Zero Majima was just a bunch of reused old Kiryu plotlines executed worse)
Going with a new MC is fine, Judgement's MC is a little bland but Ichiban seems like an Akiyama/Shinada type except with ties to the yakuza which potentially seems good. He should be Omi instead of Tojo again really but whatever.
Yakuza's shit writing doesn't suit a detective game. There's no fun doing actual detective work or even thinking about clues or what's happening when everything can be undone at any moment because of bullshit twists and melodrama
No, the changes are minimal. Small surface level touches.
Anyone else finding a lot of the actions during combat to be frustratingly inconsistent? Namely the Tiger style charge attacks and wall run. Seems more often than not, Tak just rubs himself against the wall while a group of thugs violate him from behind.
>HURR why isn't the combat good
fuck off retard
Yes they do, Yakuza state that they "recruit" (more likely blackmail them) Nigerians because they appear much scarier than japaneses so other japaneses and foreigners are less likely to refuse them favors.
> the marketing campaign was such a failure that there are plenty of people that don't even know the game came out at all
Guilty as charged. I think they overestimated their brand awareness and put the budget on the voices.
Also, fuck the rename. Judge eyes was perfect. They should know that "judgement" plays really shitty with search engines. Seriously, try googling for "judgement release date".
It was the perfect combination of being really good, having a long running franchise behind it, and being a prequel which made the story accessible. I hadn't played a yakuza game since 2 on the ps2 and zero just brought me back into the series.
cringe
so chapter 1 kinda dragged on a little, but chapter 2 and beyond has been an absolute blast. seriously I'm fucking loving this game, and the side quests have been amazing( ass catchem and the panty thieve)
I like that take on ingame-maps. You´ll get familiar with the city, see it and it´s people evolve over time and get to know it as if it´s your hometown. I take it over boring, soul-less, bloated maps that just strife to be bigger and not better.
>see pic related
>immediately google the list of girl available for Yagami to date
>her name is nowhere to be seen
into the trash it goes
the girls you can date are even cuter
As a very lonely person this is great news
What the fuck?
is this game really as good as yakuza 0
is it just me or is crane better overall?
you embarrassed yourself by suggesting yakuza combat could be improved. fuck off shitposter.
It's a falseflagging autist, don't reply to him.
I don't know what you're smoking but Amane is there only one that's even close, imo. Saori's model alone looks far better than any other female character in this game (and most other Yakuza games I can think of). By and large, the female faces and hair styles don't usually get the same level of polish as the male ones but Saori is the first real exception to that rule.
I actually find myself almost exclusively using tiger. I almost forgot crane exists. All the neat charge moves are in tiger and it doesn't seem to be much worse at dealing with crowds than crane.
>falseflagger defending someone who is shitting on yakuzas combat
You're so transparent
The combat is fine, you're fooling nobody
I'm waiting and hoping for a PC version. Not because of elitism or anything like that, it's just because the performance on vanilla PS4 is godawful. Until then I'll content myself with catching up on Yakuza.
At what point in the story does the Pervert King case show up? I've cleared out all the other ones but haven't gotten a prompt for it anywhere
I kind want to see Kaz in america getting into some tomfoolery or starting a clan there
youtube.com
Is any of the girlfriends as cute as Yuki-chan?
wow a black person talked to you. in public of all places. must have been so traumatic. japan has really gone down the tubes!
>shitting on yakuzas combat
Except that's not what I was doing. I rather enjoy the combat as a whole, I'm just finding that certain parts seem to have technical deficiencies and are not working properly.
I'd imagine most ecelebs are since most of their audience puts them on in the background on their phone
that's also where most of the game's exposure in the west will come from
when is it coming out for PC? no way the studio wants to lock this game to 30fps.
Retard, its been known for a long time what the release date would be. Was even in the public eye cause the Taki incident. Blame yourself.
PC release when?
what killed the Yakuza hype?
Reading all these horror stories about kabukicho made me grateful I didn't get memed into booking an airbnb/hotel in that area. I picked a comfy quiet district 15min away by metro instead.
>all these horror stories about kabukicho
What?
6 months until announcement I guess.
Can't wait to pirate it. I'm not dumb enough to spend money on this rehash.
Kek
>it's even more niche than Yakuza but also has english voices which I'm sure cost Sega a pretty penny
It's more extensive than that: there are separate subtitle tracks too, one for the English audio and one for the more "literally" translated Japanese audio. It's such an admirable effort and it's going to go to waste.
Going to America is basically going off the grid in this series, Kiryu should've just taken himself and the kids there ages ago if he wanted to escape the Tojo once and for all.
Tokyo is awesome. Kabukicho is just a small area.
Yeah, what kind of side stories he would get into in America? what location would they do if they would make another game?
More tranny sub stories
I like Tokyo a lot better than Osaka. Osaka was bland and boring.
You need casinos and getting ripped off by whores in a yakuza game so Vegas I guess?
the charm of the yakuza series is the glimpse into japanese life and culture. I play the series to escape from the american shithole i live in.
why are the localizations for these games so great?
>fighting mafioso Don and then taking over and running cabaret casino with Native babes,Gingers, and blondes
GOD YES
