What if I saw a giant ball of red fire

easily 1

Ok. I chose a number. What do they mean?

At first I got a 5 but then I tried harder and got the 6

it means you have homosexual tendencies

you are gay

mostly 1 but a bit of 2, and I hate it
how do we solve the aphantasia problem?

feels like I can't visualize "pictures". I had to create in a scene in my head of looking up at the night sky and seeing a red star.

6
Why are people choosing 1 and 2 the faded out star and the blank?

Only a really small amount of people actually have aphantasia. They cant imagine visual things.
Close your eyes and think about how your mother looks like. Try to describe her face. If you cant you have aphantasia.

this doesn't work because you see the red star in the image before reading it

Not sure I've ever been able to see more than 4. Are you actually supposed to be able to imagine colors when you close your eyes?

I'm wondering this too, now.

yes lol

None. Is it really meant to be that blurry?

This. All I see is the red star that I just lookes at.

I can visualize on the same level i see real stuff. Rotation and shit also np, lightning is a freebie.
Only thing vidya did is that now im imagining mario galaxy music behind it while small yellow stars sparkle as a 3d red star slowly rotates in a spotlight.

What if I'm just bad at describing things

You're supposed to be able to visualize shit in your head?
What?

yeah, its fucking easy to imagine photorealistic models in your head

Effortless 6. And it was ROTATING IN 3D

Is this real? There are human beings on this board right now with brains so fucking broken they can't even visualize a red star? Explains a lot about this board honestly.

I imagined a star, like
A REAL ASTAR

Attached: dfssdfwef.jpg (590x350, 39K)

6 without problems, but I think that the joke is that you havent to see the numbers before you imagine it

it helps if you visualize one or two other things of distinctly different colors in addition, like try visualizing a red star between a blue and green one

based 3d screensaver

if you see anything less than 5 you are an NPC.
you are made up in the simulation, only code.
no real thing is controlling you outside of the simulation.

Attached: devo.jpg (5096x2971, 3.87M)

I tried, but all I see is a pepe-faced man of colour BLACK'ing mai waifu

what does it mean, /vee/ - Have Sex?

Feels mostly like a 3 or 4.

I draw and it's always been like this for me when I imagine something. It's never super vivid or detailed, but always feels like a vague, blurry thing I'm interpreting.

Attached: 1561380834954.png (700x359, 197K)

Reminder that these people cant even imagine someone naked.

If you pretend to actually "see" anything with your eyes, you're a liar. "Seeing" with your mind's eye is very different.

Now I realize why everyone on here talks about being addicted to porn since they literally cannot have a sexual fantasy and need to be watching a video to be erotically stimulated.

This, I looked at the pic then read the text

1. The best I can do is trace the outline of a star with my mind's eye, but that's akin to moving a point with no trail around.

Doesn't really feel like I'm missing anything, honestly.

Nah doesnt matter people with aphantasia still cant do it.

I can’t “see” the star, but I can sort of picture it. I don’t really know how to describe it.

probably cancer

Is this why people enjoy shit games with good graphics?

Attached: serveimage.jpg (1000x557, 191K)

Genuinely 1

I though this as well, I'd imagine some people could say 5 if they felt more visually interested by the pink star, but it's still the same principle.

Are you all mentally handicapped?

can you even masturbate without porn with this condition?

I can't visualize it in front of me just because I closed my eyes. that's dumb.
I can clearly imagine it though, doesn't mean that the star will appear in the darkness if I close my eyes.

>Close your eyes and think about how your mother looks like. Try to describe her face. If you cant you have aphantasia.
I do that from memory, not from visualising her.

This. I can picture it in my head. I can move it around, change the color, mentally visualize a bear putting it on a T-shirt and putting the T-shirt on, but my eyes certainly don't "see" it. It's all mental visualization.

>if you can't see things that aren't there you have a problem

what?

once again, the >npc meme isn't a meme
some "humans" have disabled brains due to spending so much time on phones and in their safe little space

>Close your eyes and think about how your mother looks like. Try to describe her face. If you cant you have aphantasia.
I can't describe her face but I can certainly imagine what a red star fucking looks like.

I can't "visualise" anything, but I can imagine things just fine. I don't jerk off to my mind because it's kind of boring to come up with your own shit, but I've done it in the past.

Probably.

Attached: limmy.jpg (1036x1147, 98K)

6, only I made it switch colors and I put on a simple, white background like a decent human being.

theonion.com/study-human-imagination-capable-of-magnificent-things-1819574075

Well? Can you?

Attached: 87a.jpg (1140x1128, 1.1M)

The pseudoscience you niggers are spouting for 5+ years now to explain why you are still virgins at 30 is what's the meme here.
Every week it's another retarded trend with you faggots.

You mean like actually SEEING things via imagination?
Is that even possible?

>Close your eyes and imagine a red star
Your real eyes have absolutely nothing to do with visualising something with your mind's eye. People with vivid imaginations can picture objects regardless of their eyes being open or not.

Attached: 1560464850893.gif (480x270, 1.74M)

>Now I realize why everyone on here talks about being addicted to porn since they literally cannot have a sexual fantasy and need to be watching a video to be erotically stimulated.
This is why doujinchads and literoticagods exist.

what kind of mentally challenged retard can't picture a red star in their head?

Try this:
Picture a 3D equilateral triangle and it's mirror image underneath, Now merge the two so it looks like the star of david, have one rotate clockwise and the other anti clockwise with yourself in the middle

Its basically the same thing as with the star. You know how your mother looks like and can recognize her when you meet her, but cant imagine how the looks like without reference.
Its for the people who are not conviced that showing the star beforehand doesnt change the outcome since I dont have a picutre of your mother.

You seriously can't see things in your head? I can play entire movies as I am typing this.

That one's way easier.

Most people on Yea Forums apparently

don't worry, keep taking your medicine, things will be better later

do you read books? Is there even any entertainment to be had when you cant imagine anything in them?

You should try taking yours buddy

Right, but you can't actually see the movie appear in front of you with your eyes. You see it in your mind's eye.

You don't literally SEE things in your mind's eye, it doens't appear anywhere in your field of vision. If you can mentally picture it and all its features though, thats what it means.

I wish there was a way to measure this. I easily pictured 6. I can easily picture a whole scene, color and all, like what shade of green I would choose for the grass in the background, light warm green or dark bluish green, and how the light reflects off the grass, how the dewdrops look if I was to zoom in some more, and so on.

But I'm not actually seeing anything so how could I possibly know if any of this is real? Maybe I just believe I can do that because I actually can't do that and have no idea what other people "see" or whether they see anything at all. Maybe I only think I can picture things so vividly because I can't picture anything at all and I've grown delusional.

Or maybe it's just a reflex from drawing or painting a lot, like I'm planning something but not actually picturing it before it's on paper. I've often struggled making art just the way I saw it, I don't know whether that's due to lack of skill and practice or just the fact that nothing existed in my head to begin with.

I've thought about this a lot at different stages in my life, it's always fucked with me

I can imagine what's going on just fine, I just don't "see" it.

>close your eyes
why? I can imagine a red star just fine without closing my eyes. Why is this a step?
easy.

Of course you see it in your head that the entire definition of imagining things.

I can imagine things and know in my mind how it looks

But I really don't think I'm supposed to actually be capable of seeing imaginary things with my actual eyes

>having to imagine things in easy mode
turn off ur hacks noob

I have a new question for you Yea Forums. Aphantasia doesn't just affect your ability to imagine/"see" things in your head while awake. It can also prevent you from seeing in your dream while asleep. It can also affect your ability to hear music in your head.

So my question is this:
>If you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
>If you can recall them, are they blurry or clear?
>If you can see the stars in the OP no problem, are your dreams just as clear?
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?

Attached: 1498584249470.jpg (604x453, 94K)

how the fuck do you manage to think without visualising what you're supposed to do / have ?
I'm not playing on the world "see" that imply the use of eyes, let's call it "visualize" or "imagine"
how is it possible to not just do that ?

user, the word "imagination" itself contains the word "image". You can't imagine for shit. What do you mean when you say that? Do you see the word "red star" popping up in your head?

i can only get to triangle guys
how do i make star?

Wait a fucking minute, are there really people on this Earth that can't just conjure up shit in their mind's eye? I thought we all had thousands of images racing through our head daily, things we've never seen but can create in our headspace. THIS ISN'T UNIVERSAL? HOW DO YOU PEOPLE LIVE?

THIS.

ARE YOU BROKEN?

Attached: 1557866029938.jpg (330x330, 18K)

>It can also affect your ability to hear music in your head
There are times when this would be a blessing. Christmas time in retail is hell

Easy

Attached: ez.jpg (1140x1128, 663K)

Attached: thank mr skeltal.jpg (499x499, 27K)

well yeah, because if it appeared in front, it would be a hallucination.

You aren't supposed to be able to recall your dreams, they are "wiped" something like 15 seconds after you wake up.
You only remember some parts of some dreams because of the impression it made when you woke up.

Is there a way to force youself to have this lack of imagination?

for me it's

>If you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
I cannot see any of the stars in OP. I am a 1. I can recall my dreams perfectly (until I forget them).
>If you can recall them, are they blurry or clear?
During the dream they are crystal clear as if I am living it.
>If you can see the stars in the OP no problem, are your dreams just as clear?
n/a
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
I can hear it perfectly.
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?
I can play a song at will at any point during the song in my head as if I was listening to it.

Attached: T34_85_Aberdeen_PG.jpg (908x642, 469K)

use the clone tool and make a translation+18rotation transformation 5 times.

because then it fucks with people into thinking you're supposed to actaully literally see a star in your vision, and then you get to watch people freak out or act smug like in this thread lol

You cant train to remember more parts of your dreams though.

>1
Uh oh.

Is this the reason I don't have dreams?

Attached: 1558860733778.jpg (3840x2160, 497K)

>I thought we all had thousands of images racing through our head daily
Kinda sounds like you're the one that's broken to be honest
I don't think your brain is supposed to do that

thank mr skeltal

wtf are you talking about. I remember every nightmare I've ever had since I was 4. I remember a good chunk of my dreams as well. All the details and the order of events.

Attached: fe.jpg (1140x1128, 625K)

congrats on being handicapped.

>Aphantasia doesn't just affect your ability to imagine/"see" things in your head while awake. It can also prevent you from seeing in your dream while asleep.
But it doesnt

>In the same paper, it was identified that aphantasia characterizes only voluntary visualizations; the aphantasiacs were still able to have involuntary visualizations (i.e.dreams).

you son of a bitch.

I’m pretty sure it’s something people are born with.

What’s interesting is that because it’s not something “real”, it’s just a function of how the brain operates, people who can’t do it go their whole lives essentially unaware that their brain is different from everyone else’s. They just assume that’s how all brains work, how all imagination works.

Sort of like people who can’t identify faces. It never occurs to them that this is not how everyone else sees people.

So is it 5+ years or is it something new every week, NPC?

Yes, be present all the time.
You can meditate too with great benefits.
It's not a lack of imagination but you can use it to stop daydreaming if you'd like to.

>People with vivid imaginations can picture objects regardless of their eyes being open or not.
I'd imagine it suggests for your eyes to be closed so there isn't a "reference" to aid you. Like you can imagine where to hang a painting on a wall or similar with your eyes open more easily because you actually have a feel of the space in question

Wow imagine not getting to remember your dreams, I feel sorry for you man. Thats honestly fucked up. Dreams are some of the most amazing things you can see

1 I guess

According to my psychologist I visualize things to process information and I tested max scores from visualization and processing speed. Maybe I'm just a dumb dumb

i have no memories of dreaming since at least 10 years ago
i can see the red star in OP even with my eyes opened. it's not blurry either.
i can play songs in my head. even if i can't remember the lyrics the instruments all play perfectly

what does this mean

I've had my imagination bleed into my vision while on LSD. A sober person shouldn't get that unless they're mentally ill.

Then your brain isn't working correctly or like the average brain.
Are you more tired than other people?

>Wait a fucking minute, are there really people on this Earth that can't just conjure up shit in their mind's eye?
I think the OP image is very misleading. I can visualise the red star, I can properly imagine its color and shape, but it's not literally right there in front of my eyes. I can very easily trace its outline with my fingers despite the visual information being internal only.

fill out the questions in

>f you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
Nope.
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
Yes.
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?
As clearly as if I were listening to the actual song? Hell no. I'm not actually receiving the audio stimuli so how is that possible?

i can recall my dreams days and weeks after they happened and i can usually replay most of my dreams in my head but only for the first day. after that the memory fades.

Brainwashed. Who the fuck told you that’s how it should be? Take it easy on the fluoride there, hoss.

this. Its so you dont see the red star and have to acutally use your imagination.

>life is so miserable your brain shifted from reality watching to dream watching
I'm so sorry my dude

but I can see a star in my vision as well. I would classify this as being different to imagining a star; it's more like I'm forcibly hallucinating it.

This but red

Imagine not being able to grasp such a simple sentence.

Memory is largely reconstructive.

I had sex in my dreams and I will never forget it.

Either I'm creative and never realized it or you people have under-functioning brains, how could you not see thousands of images in your mind? That's just how the mind works, is your mind empty all day? What about your inner voice? Does it never speak either? Do you never imagine characters, or places, or scenes, or anything??

Attached: 1415998705870.gif (446x469, 1.17M)

I told you to take your pills bro

Not an "NPC", but it's difficult for me to visualize and I have to be practical about everything.
I can be "creative", but it has to be hands on etc.

no red giant?

I think people that can't imagine it are probably trying to imagine it on the back of their closed eyelids instead of their actual mind

its almost entirely reconstructive
fun fact, every time you remember something you are simply remembering the last time you remembered it, not the original event.

>If you can see the stars in the OP no problem, are your dreams just as clear?
Used to be that I'd have horrific nightmares growing up as a child. Nowadays I don't usually have dreams at all, which I consider to be better for me. The rare times that I do though they're still exceptionally vivid.
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?
Yes to both, kinda necessary as a musician.

I have a question, uh, why the FUCK would video games destroy your visualization abilities in the first place?

My brain is no less active than yours, it's just that I think in words, never images.
I dream in voices only.

The cognitive dissonance is high with this one

The music bit is a thing of its own, it's called amusia and it literally prevents you from remembering songs and/or recognizing when one is off key or tune

sounds like normal behavior to me, except that you should be able to clear your head if you wish so. Having random images popping up in your head is the sign you're losing control of your brain.

this

Attached: .jpg (480x360, 9K)

I don't understand this at all.

How the fuck are people able to get anything other than 6? This must be some kind of fucking meme.

You're just imagining seeing a star there.

>every time you remember something you are simply remembering the last time you remembered it
woah

Attached: woah.gif (233x173, 507K)

Use your brain

screens are bad for your eyes.

I imagined this.
What does it mean?

Attached: star.jpg (1280x720, 56K)

I have never been able to shut off my brain
its going all day every day no matter what I do.

Attached: TEST.jpg (1140x1128, 630K)

>You aren't supposed to be able to recall your dreams, they are "wiped" something like 15 seconds after you wake up.
Tell that to really horrendous fucking nightmares.

>In the back left seat of a car
>Two shadowy figures up in both front seats, just sitting there
>We're on a morphing road that seems to change shape constantly by the seaside
>We're heading into a tunnel
>Everything is pitch black except for the inside of this car
>Hear a voice upfront
Don't look to your right
>Feel something grasp my right shoulder
>Literally felt it
>Noise exactly like those ghosts from the Grudge starts creaking in my right ear, louder and louder
>Bolt the fuck out of bed in a cold sweat

Will never forget that shit. It was horrifying and I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. Pretty much every attempt to close my eyes gave a me an intensely detailed image of a face laughing at me.

Attached: 1554546235333.png (750x750, 307K)

>they are "wiped" something like 15 seconds after you wake up.
I had a hard time remembering any dreams whatsoever for years, then I read somewhere that the memories of your dreams are "overwritten" by your motor functions booting back up.
Now as long as I make an active effort to recall my dreams before I get out of bed, it works every time.

Attached: 1540872880702.jpg (249x203, 5K)

I just see blackness.

Attached: 1537087315915.gif (837x736, 249K)

I can't visualize the whole star in one go. I have to imagine it a point at a time and then apply the color.

I can do the music one, but no I don't remember dreams and can't picture anything I imagine.

>If you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
Not while I'm awake. I definitely see things while I'm asleep, and I can remember that I saw things, although maybe the things I saw were just "concepts"?

When I visualise something, it's like a flash of lightning illuminating something, and it falls through my mind like sand through a sieve. I can conjure up images of things I've seen, but I can't manipulate them or anything because they're gone the moment I picture them.

>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
Not really? Everything is acapella, I only "hear" the words and notable instrumental pieces.

I wouldn't describe myself as tired. Also you would be correct about the brain thing as I am unironically autistic.

Here's something for you guys. In your peripheral vision do you still see color or is it in black and white. pic unrelated possibly

Attached: wowzers.png (800x519, 53K)

It is, OP's explanation is retarded on purpose and some niggers think they have to actually visualize a star appearing in front of them in the darkness instead of just imagining it clearly.

>Do you never imagine characters, or places, or scenes, or anything??
I didn't say I never do, but it sounds like you're describing brain activity that is beyond your control.

Whats it mean if I can only visualize with my eyes open?

Misunderstanding about "mind's eye" I suppose

The clear mind is a myth to me. I can stop the images with concentration but never my inner voice. It's always on no matter how hard I try to think it away. The act of trying to think my inner voice away only prompts it more.

Shouldn't it be both?

the answer is b

Yes, fluoride does affect your pineal gland. Yes, fluoride that’s in our water in toothpaste isn’t natural fluoride, but a byproduct of aluminum production. Yes, aluminum has been connected to mental disorders like Alzheimer’s. Yes, you are brainwashed.

That's bullshit, I've thought about things that I remembered before but in more detail at later times. I also don't remember anything else related to the time that I actually remembered something, just the memory itself.

> I'm not actually receiving the audio stimuli so how is that possible?
Good Memory + playing a song way to often. Literally makes no difference to me whether i use youtube or recall a song i heard thousand times.

I can't see the star at all, but I can easily trace the outline because I know how to draw a star.

>every time you remember something you are simply remembering the last time you remembered it, not the original event.
What about the first time you remember it

well then how did I remember it the first time?

This
Typically, having images from your imagination fill your head and take your focus when you’re actively doing something else is called “daydreaming”. It’s a sign that you’re checked out from reality, which may mean you’re extremely bored. If you aren’t bored all the time and you still find that your imagination is constantly encroaching into your mind when you aren’t wanting it to, you should honestly get evaluated for schizophrenia, your 20s is the typical age of onset for that.

>image clearly says "mind's eye"
anyone that thinks they're expected to visualize it appear before them is the retarded one

>the answer is b
user..?

Probably wants to fuck his mom too.

Attached: 220px-Sigmund_Freud,_by_Max_Halberstadt_(cropped).jpg (220x299, 12K)

you can imagine more detail, but that doesnt come form the original memory

This is great for fapping or porn text games.
Zoomers cant fap without a monitor.

This one funny. There is literally a spot right in the middle of your eye that cant see anything but your brain just makes shit up and fills the blind spot in real time.

your brain forms the memory, then you recall it and it is reformed, rinse and repeat

>What about your inner voice?
I mean I know this thread is all fucked about the definition of literally seeing imaginary shit and visualisation of the mind's eye, but I literally met someone who insisted they had no internal voice and that I was crazy. I tried my hardest to explain to them that it's just your voice but inside of your head, and showed them TVs and movies that demonstrate this concept, but they kept affirming it was horse shit that was made up.

Attached: 1551889485998.jpg (400x328, 27K)

Close your eyes, and imagine a frozen forest.

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar

No, I get that, what I meant is, are those images/inner voice contextually appropriate, or do you just have a random picture of a horse popping up in your head for no reason? I haven't shut down my inner voice since I can remember, but I always feel like I am the voice, not that I hear a voice.

And you remember that because it made an impression on you when you woke up.

I also remember a nightmare from when I was a kid, it was just a huge white void with a car in the middle.
Inside the car were some family friends, I got closer and the car was burning with them inside.
I still remember that they were charred but their faces were clearly distinguishable at which point I woke up.

>You remember dreams based on the impression they left on you
>I remember every nightmare I've ever had since I was 4
Now why do you think nightmares have their own classification?

>Yes, aluminum has been connected to mental disorders like Alzheimer’s
Fucking conspiracy wacko, there is ZERO consistent or compelling evidence for this and it's just as retarded as anti-vax autism link nonsense.

the screen is giving visual information to your brain all the time. that makes your brain's visualization weaker because it's not doing any work

I hear this youtube.com/watch?v=HctKcnHdkrU

>being a b-fag

>A sober person shouldn't get that unless they're mentally ill
Well shit, does it still count as a problem if I willingly see whatever fake thing I want?

>I can stop the images with concentration but never my inner voice. It's always on no matter how hard I try to think it away.
Are you saying that there's a voice in your head that's always speaking?

Not that you're just always thinking to yourself, but that there's an uncontrollable voice in your head?

user I think you might have a problem

>arguing with a mentally unstable person

Holy shit, is this why normies seem so basic? Do they not experience any sort of analysis or conflict with their inner voice? Are their really people who lack this?

nightmares used to mean sleep paralysis but now they just mean scary dreams
they're just easily more remembered because of the amount of attention payed to them compared to them

OKAY YOU FUKING NIGGERS
Looks like i have fuking mental problem or what?
Hwo the fuck can create a vivid image of something in his mind, most i can do is a 2 when im realy concentred,
dont tell me now that you can think in something realy hard and see it in the darkness of you closed eyes,
When i think in something i imagine it in the back of my mind, in my imagination, not in my fuking eyes, you cant represent a ``image`` of you imagination in a picture unless you are on acid and you brain makes you see shit,
I am a fuking writer, describing things is what i do most of the time, and i dont need a image in my mind to describe it, i can fuking imagine it,
DONT FUKING TELL ME THAT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHIT SUPERHUMAN ABILITIES THAT CAN SEE THINGS LIKE ``PICTURES`` IN THEIR MINDS,
GUYS??????????????????????????????????

Attached: 1553371647647.jpg (593x601, 44K)

Lol it’s really not a “conspiracy theory” at all

how do you know its every nightmare you ever had?

You are a fucking retard. He said for over 5 years now you idiots had a different hyperbole every other week.

nigga your eyes do that

So if I kiss my cousin and think back to it a few times, picturing his freckled face, those are just memories of memories?

So if I later on recall how my dad looked at me in the background, isn't that from the original memory and not a memory of a memory, as recalls #2-5 were about the cousin's appearance?

>close my eyes
>out of the darkness shapes form
>I have little to no control over them
>a naked woman, a twisting ball of snakes, a smile
>all appear in and instant and are gone in the next

Attached: 783446_krekk0v_floating-in-a-most-peculiar-way.jpg (1200x1200, 34K)

You now understand the NPC meme

>see it in the darkness of you closed eyes,
no you idiot you see it in your imagination

unironically get a better inner eye

diagnosis: autism

>When i think in something i imagine it in the back of my mind, in my imagination, not in my fuking eyes,
you work must be awful, because the image said "mind's eye" not "your eyes" fucko

wat

Sometimes it's me thinking to myself, sometimes it's me instructing myself, sometimes it's me arguing with myself, sometimes it's me disciplining myself, sometimes it's me telling myself a joke, sometimes it's me and sometimes it's an extra-me. Like back-up me, offering myself a second perspective while still being part of my own perspective. This is normal, right?

>no inner voice
That’s impossible. No fucking way.

Ask that person to solve a math problem without writing anything down. Something like 2x+4=9. I guarantee you they can solve it, which means they have an inner voice.

I imagined a bright, shiny red star. It was an object, like it was made of plastic or metal, and had edges on the front, kinda like Starmie.

I'm looking at the image and I feel really confused. My mind's eye is MUCH more vivid and detailed than that.

>and i dont need a image in my mind to describe it, i can fuking imagine it,
are you literally stupid?

Close your eyes and imagine an apple.

>over 5 years
>something new every week
Pick one, user. You probably couldn’t picture the star, could you?

not necessarily, you can remember parts of an event and that doesnt mean you recall the entire thing at once to remember that one detail

I wonder why filling it in is advantageous. Couldn't we just as easily have evolved to have a black spot there but it doesn't bother us?

I understand that. I was simply clarifying since this thread is filled with falseflagging and other nonsense.

>please, help me... I’m so thirsty
>I just need some.. wa’

>but I literally met someone who insisted they had no internal voice and that I was crazy
Like, how? That's as simple as just reading, is this person unable to read?

You're the one that has been visualizing shit, you tell us if it's a problem.

Feels like the first npc thread up in here.

Right now, as you’re reading this, is that voice reading the words of my post? Or is it a different voice from the voice you use to read these words?

>ignoring the rest
When I was younger my nightmares would follow me out of my dreams when I would wake up.
Imagine being six and awakening to thousands of trains flying around you, violently piecing your arms and legs. Oh wait, you can't imagine lol

Attached: 1552884549842.jpg (718x720, 53K)

I saw a video of this in YT. The girl was a artist.

thats normal
thats called thought

I't more like AR. you overlay the imagination in your visual field over what you really see. Isn't that kinda a basic skill for any craftsmen? How do you plan shit if you can't visualize it?

...I'm supposed to "see" anything at all when I'm "imagining" stuff? Wtf.

Dude, it’s bullshit pseudoscience that serves the nihilistic endgame. How would they go about verifying that?

I saw a red star in the night sky, twinkling.

>children/teenagers of today will never know the struggle of watching censored porn channels with that inverted color scale and having to fill in the gaps with your imagination

This shit forged your mind like nothing else, porn text games are great because it gives me just enough to imagine extremely elaborate sex scenes

Bro you're literally retarded.

I DONT SEE THE FUKING APPLE, I DONT SEE ANITHING, IT DOSNET MATTER IF YOU HAVE THE EYES CLOSED OR NOT, IS JUST DARKNESS, ALWAYS, WHEN I THINK IN AN APPLE I PERCIBE IT IN THE BACK OF MY MIND, I DONT SEE ANITHING

Tier levels

Visualizing a celebrity in a red dress > Visualizing a galaxy of stars > Visualizing a real star from the view point of a telescope > Visualizing the concept of a star > Visualizing the color red > Visualizing nothing

brain likes to fill in shit all the time, and usually it's not a problem because your eyes cover eachother's blind spots

anyone else have a female inner voice

I think it's just a memorization e.g. A-N-T together is ant, that may be why some people can't read through spelling mistakes

seething

you can comprehend words without hearing them
imagine reading book and just getting the basic info with no deeper thought beyond the words on the page. thats what they read.

Ok, that's normal. You're good.

Some girl on leddit saying her bf literally cannot imagine anything in his head. Really easy to connect it back to the npc meme.

>sometimes it's me and sometimes it's an extra-me
I'm not sure what this means

Everything up to this point is normal
But the fact that this is a constant thing you experience, that you never have a "clear mind" without some sort of voice going off, is worrying

Attached: 1536187535668.jpg (675x617, 73K)

I never felt like.

You see things you imagine overlayed onto your actual vision of the real world? That's not normal but I suppose it's only a problem if it's interfering with your life.

do you imagine the image of an apple?

It's both. It stops itself to read your post, then goes back to whatever it was doing. Sometimes the voice changes voices if I recognize the voice of the speaker. The voixe can be any voice, but as soon as I'm done reading, it's my own voice again and exists in tandem with my voice. It becomes one then splits back between me and my inner voice.

Yeah. Stuff like fapping to that half-breast you saw in the bus or sex scene with a girl in a sexy magazine are hard for people with Internet from the start.

>this thread is filled with falseflagging
wat

>female inner voice
Give me her number bro

Huh, I was somehow having a hard time imagining red despite the fact that I just literally saw it.

I can change it to be female
makes me feel weird

>imagine the JOI sessions

I think a lot of people misdiagnose themself with this thinking other people actually physically see things in their minds eye. Nobody hallucinates stuff in their minds eye. I dont see anything when i close my eyes but i have a very strong awareness of what a red star is and what it would look like. If you dream or have any kind of imagination or dont get lost on the way to the store you dont have aphantasia

I had this big stuffed polar bear toy I loved as a very, very young child, and we kept it in my closet while I wasn't playing with it. One day I had a nightmare that it opened the closet from within and it had glowing red eyes and started to come after me in my crib/bed (don't really remember which at that age). From then on I was scared of it and couldn't sleep with it in the room, so my folks got rid of it. I feel bad. By this time in life, I feel like I betrayed it and was being a little bitch (at like 2-4 years old or something, but still).

JUST BEND THE FUCKING SPOON NEO YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF

No wonder you guys can't deal with women, you haven't been training.

I can change to pretty much anyone I want, even Morgan Freeman if I concentrate.

see

WHAT THE FUCK, NO I DONT, I DONT VISUALIZE ANITHING, I JUST FEEL, THE SHAPE, THE FORM, AND THE COLORS
i mean, if you close you eyes, and youch for example a sbastica sculpture, you can recocnize the sbastica, you can feel the sbastica, but you cant see it, is just, perception,
please dont tell me tha ti have some sort of fuking aphantasia

I have the same thing
can never really turn it off, never have been able to.
it sometimes sucks

It's not alive you retard

g-guys its like you see it but not really r-right im not retarded....am i?

Just before you go to bed, does anyone else play out episodes of a tv show or game you've watched/played but insert yourself into it and play around as a side character or a villain?

Attached: 1561037253485.jpg (615x615, 60K)

/pol/ told me it's common in black people. Are you black?

the only dream I remember is one where I was in love with this cute girl and we hugged each other and kissed all the time

Question to my fellow ESL. Do you have your inner voice speaking in your native language? What happens when you spend a while out of the country? I switched to English a while back,

I have done that before
its a fucking weird feeling

if I want to feel cool ill have morgan freeman narrate stuff I see happening

Ok I thought it was normal

Only music can stop the voice, and not completely. The voice only really gets in the way when I try to sleep, I usually have to be physically exhausted to achieve sleep.

Same user. It really helps when reading books or playing games that have text that isn't voice acted

I do this but in another level.
When im doing stuff like walking the dog i imagine i have an huge and heavy armor.
I imagine the weight, the touch...My body starts to feel heavy and i feel i worked out a little.

>depression is so last year
>this years craze is not being able to imagine things!
your attention-whoring is getting out of hand

I can picture the stars just fine.
My dreams are clear, but fragmented and sometimes impossible to describe/record in an understandable and succinct way.
I can play melodies in my head clearly. The cadence and tone and etc of the lyrics absolutely, actual lyrics depending on if I actually know them. I need a reference point to start a song midway through - like a tone shift, verse start, etc

Partly bullshit, we use memory nodes which are interconnected with each other. You can literally memorize each of your sense and link it to an object, then you will have more points to reach source object. Almost like Wikipedia links, that's why most of the memorization techniques involves creating bunch of reference points, grouping it all together and linking successively.

Start thinking about strong emotion like regret and let your mind wander around, you will notice jumps from one point to another untill you reach your most regretful event of the past.

Attached: 1431650599962.gif (208x198, 129K)

I do that when the show is fuking awfull, while watching it obviusly

You're thinking of closed eye visuals
When people refer to minds eye it's nothing to do with your actual eyes, you can visualize with them open or closed.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Closed-eye_hallucination

congratulations, you are a psyker.

I used to switch back and forth, but I've stuck with English now despite living in Russia

Media and gaymes have fucked me on the aspect of keeping my inner voice in Russian

what if I can do it a lot more easily with my eyes open

Dude it's fine
Aphantasia isn't anything super serious, I know since I myself have it.
Rather, I pity color blind folks.
You think your situation is bad? Imagine not knowing what red looks like. We lucked out, man.

Attached: 1561340561930.jpg (1372x1952, 248K)

1 People that say they can 'see' stuff when they close their eyes are lying

you've been naughty

I'ts a woman!

I got pretty attached to Toy Story and The Brave Little Toaster. I feel bad throwing out shit, even when it doesn't work any more. I do it any way because I'm not a hoarder, but still.

>Only music can stop the voice, and not completely
Yeah
You might want to see a specialist about that, because that part isn't normal

Ben Carson supposedly had this issue in his childhood
But then apparently like half the shit in his autobiography was a lie so...

that's just someone unable to imagine what others feel, which is fitting when you think about it, because they are claiming their imagination isn't working.

Its called imaginary training.
Also, you can trick the body imagining you are lighter or stronger.

LAAAST CHRISTMAS I GAVE YOU MY HEART

Scandinavian ESL here. My inner language is dominated by English at this point and switching to my native language feels awkward (but only for a few seconds).

It's easier for me to do this with my eyes open, is that weird?

I don't know what an ESL is but I'm Greek and moved to Germany a while back, I started thinking in German because I was learning the language at the time.
I would constantly play out sentences in German in my mind etc.
That was something like 15 years ago, now that I'm back in Greece I no longer think in German.

I don't think I've ever been able to do this. I think it's autism. I have no issue visualising objects with my eyes open, though.

My dude I can see stuff with my eyes open, like a drawing I don't have skill to recreate, animations I can't animate, 3D images I can't render, I can see it all and it's all the time. Do you not have a fucntioning mind's eye?

Does anyone else personify their computer as a person and talk to it sometimes?

Attached: 1557727616731.jpg (525x478, 18K)

I bet you don't believe in lucid dreams either

When I'm really tired I start to hear classical music and the muffled sound of people talking with each other, it's pretty cool.

its the same for me though
if I imagine an image or recall a song it stops while im doing that but comes right back when im done
if I feel like it I can have the voice and the music and the visualization if I try

Yeah is that what theyre called. I think some people wrongly assume other people get this and because when they close their eyes they see nothing something must be wrong with them . The minds eye is a weird and difficult thing to describe

Sorry user.

Same. It's mostly this place that keeps my inner voice from switching back to my native language in my case.

I do something similar. Usually just creating and playing out sci-fi scenarios, getting hung up on creative details until I pass out. Like daydreaming, but healthier.

I’m easily a 6 but it can only last for 2 or 3 seconds

that sounds cool as fuck.

thank mr skeltal

What? You didn't even read the dude's post. He was simply explaining that hallucinations are not the same as mental visualization.

I switched to english a while ago. I only really noticed it after I realized I started swearing in english.

Yeah most people seem to think they have to induce closed eye visualizations. which is totally possible if they took drugs or toyed with sleep hypnagogia but otherwise it's almost impossible when wide awake.

People talk to and grow attached to Roombas. I think it's just an inherent human thing to anthropomorphize literally everything

Sounds like some Baki shit.

>A zero.

Help me

>reach your most regretful event of the past.
pls no

its really not that bad. All of my colors are slightly 'washed out' as people described it. I can see the three colors but not as vibrant as normal people. It causes all like colors to sort of blend where i cant tell them apart.

Were you in the Detroit thread?

>If you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
i cant recall the images from my dreams but i remember imagining things if that makes sense i cant remember the image but i know i thought it
>If you can recall them, are they blurry or clear?
nothing at all
>If you can see the stars in the OP no problem, are your dreams just as clear?
i had never really dreamed at all until i got put on medication 2 years ago and now i dream i would say it is relatively clear
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
only when im on certain drugs
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?
if i am fully sober the closest thing i can think to actually music would just be my own inner voice acting out the sounds, when im on something though i can hear instruments

right.

like i can describe things i encounter or create in vivid detail but i can't actually _see_ them in my head.

like asking me to picture my own mother's face. i can describe it in detail because i've seen it almost daily for years at a time, but i can't picture her face in my head.

or like if i'm reading a book, i can't create actual pictures of events going on, or character descriptions, but i can internalize them just fine and tell you that "this character looks like this".

it's fucking weirding me out because i don't know if it's actually aphantasia or what

How did I do?

Attached: 1561891278799.jpg (1140x1128, 645K)

Im like a 10. My red star is crystal clear 4k and 200+fps and also ray traced

not being able to understand other people are not carbon copies of your psyche is a symptom of autism

No sir

I saw this when I closed my eyes. Is this reverse-Aphantasia?

Attached: Tiem to sleepa again.png (800x1491, 2.49M)

>my own inner voice acting out the sounds
like...
describe that, im curious

>shadowgate is a shit game

i'll fight you

Attached: bonyjackass.jpg (190x189, 10K)

>It can also prevent you from seeing in your dream while asleep
Stop spreading misinformation, you retard. People with aphantasia can still see dreams like normal people. I can't believe no other user pointed your bullshit out. Then again, I doubt there's many people on Yea Forums who actually have any knowledge related to medicine.

Attached: retard.png (1088x322, 38K)

>tfw only have aphantasia when trying to draw something but otherwise perfectly fine visualization skills

No because that's escapism

Wait, so your head can't just produce a piano? Or a guitar? Do you just do mind acapella? What the fuck?

youtube.com/watch?v=ewsGmhAjjjI

You have a reading comprehension problem

There was a study about this but Baki exagerate it.
>3 groups
>group a did weight training or lift for a time
>group b did nothing at all
>group c did imaginary training
>group c had positive results despite not lifting
I thing this shit is animal related, I mean, a monkey sure imagine himself running or climbing trees, this with training they can defeat most of humanity in a fight.

Can you imagine what was going on in this guy's head? Wouldn't want to be him.

I did

1. My imagination is all words and sounds. I can recall entire songs or piece together conversations that I haven't heard in years, but can't imagine a red star at all.

I tried that and I just keep getting the opening seconds of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band

Of course, it's the best way to settle down.

To aphantasia anons, can you imagine a perrson next to you?

I imagined the sun but red

I think that's just "not being able to draw."

Really depend on situation, my job involves high usage of English and my mother tongue is Russian.

Let me explain, there are some words and constructions in English that don't have analogs in my language, so I often catch myself thinking in English when I thinks about them. When I need to use English I thinking in it.
And sometimes I think in both languages without even breaking a flow of my thoughts. So, I guess that depends on which language is more convinient for my brain at the moment.

Attached: 1524831947450.gif (437x415, 271K)

like am i supposed to be seeing ACTUAL pictures? because i'm understanding the concept of the image you're trying to paint but i'm not seeing anything at all, just the darkness of my eyes being closed.

You can just read the paper yourself, it's fairly simple and easy to understand
eugencpopa.ro/wp-content/uploads/Afantazia-.pdf

I can draw just fine with reference images and such just fine

you can copy
you can't draw

come on user it's not that difficult

That was simple, the triangles were green btw. Anybody else get green?

i have a whole filler arc of bleach and hellsing in my head
complete with my powers, story and characters
i'm 26

you should have an image being projected behind your eyes. I see a white background (kinda like that scene in the matrix) and a gray triangle doing the transformations in 60 fps, clear as day.

imaginary training is a huge part in dexterity related tasks. Also race drivers and other athletes like alpine skiers go through the track often to visualice what they have to do.

>There are people right now on this thread who can't imagine and hear the Song of Storms in their mind

I gradually saw a grey star. Then it turned from yellow to bluish hue, and finally I got glances or red star, though the edges were more sharper. I couldn't maintain the image though. I am very certain porn has destroyed this ability of mine since I used to be able to very clearly fap to my imagination and keep a constant string of long events up and coherent, but now I can only get glances as if I'd "tab out" to another picture in my imagination. Maybe I should cut down on it.

FUCK user
I HAVE IT WITH BLEACH TOO

Bleach/One Piece and strangely Zatch Bell

>If you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
no. i can only recall ONE dream which has been a recurring nightmare since i was 12 or 13
>If you can recall them, are they blurry or clear?
that one dream i can recall is clear as day in concept, but i can't physically picture it
>If you can see the stars in the OP no problem, are your dreams just as clear?
when i dream it it's clear as day, but i can't picture it after the fact
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
yes, clear as day.
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?
not as clearly as if i was listening to it, but clear enough that i can pick out major points of it (lyrics, or specific elements like guitars, drums, leads, etc...)

what does it mean?

he didn't specify the color, so I defaulted to dark gray

This is infuriating. I can picture a whole animated scene but I honestly can't imagine this fucking static red star.

yeah exactly what you said it's just my mind doing acapella and the voice of the singer is just some form of variant of my voice with also me doing the instruments like a ding or tsk or whatever, even when i have a song stuck in my head it's just me doing it. I dont like to think about music much

I just imagined them as wireframes

I can imagine it but I can't picture it. Does that make sense?

My musical recall is 1000x my visual. I can play back entire 8 minute songs and probably get every instrument.

well then what's the connection between the image and your post? because it implies that you're giving an example of a shit game with "good" graphics

The window counting is pretty interesting

If you don't see anything, what exactly are you conjuring up in your mind?

I had to put an outline around it to get the red color.

On Battlefield with Captain Falcon's moveset?

Someone redpill me this image please, I know who the afro kid is, but who's the one at the chair and what the hell is he doing...

i don't see anything except the dark of my eyes being closed which apparently is it's own color called Eigengrau gray

what if I saw Saturn?

That shadowgate is a good game with "bad" graphics, i.e. it's mainly just 2D images

You see this shit? Try making a cube out of it, how would you do it? rotate it, change the background, the illumination, give it a color

I got this.
Can't visualize 2D, unless it's math related

Attached: 3d-red-star-animation7.gif (320x240, 185K)

...Sure

I created my entire universe in my imagination. Ironically, I'm not even a main character, the other characters have my good and bad traits. I can use them, if feel the need to self insert.

The whole thing grew a lot during last 6 years, maybe I will print it all down after retirement just for fun.

Doesn't make sense to name it something since it changes depending on light.

Did you see it with a control pad too?

he can 'understand/comprehend' the image but not see it

This is another meme where people are gonna write articles, reddit's gonna argue, and /pol/ is going to claim that everyone is an NPC, isn't it?

I have basically the same ability but I can also skip around tracks at will. The only thing that is limited for me is what I remember about the track. If I don't remember something I can't recall it (how about that). But all of the songs I've heard thousands of times I can hear the whole thing if I concentrate hard enough. But usually I will just have a section of a track stuck on repeat in my head until a new one pops in or if I force myself to change it.

I don't see a star. I know what it looks like, I know that it is red, but I don't literally see it. I think you niggers might be reaching due to that retarded Reddit post.

i can't see anything with my minds eye
nothing, its just black. I think I used to be able to but now there's nothing. I can still draw a red star and I can kind of see what my mom looks like, but that's without closing my eyes

Shit, forgot my pic

Attached: cube.png (191x264, 2K)

How do you draw shit, then? Say you want to doodle an action scene with a guy shooting at a guy jumping from a building in fire. How do you know what to draw as you are moving your hand on the paper?

The concept I suppose. My mind can 'get' the idea being communicated, but I can't actually see the image.

How often do you use wolfram to solve your homework for you?

I can see things vividly, hear music with precise detail, and often get songs stuck in my head that play over and over all day.

I'm really good at spelling, part f the reason s that I can see how words are supposed to look in my mind.

Jokes on you I have never had a minds eye
It means you are a fucking awesome dude.

All the time
I'm not solving triple integrals by myself, that's for sure

>I can see how words are supposed to look in my mind.
user...
everyone does that

>dude, I can totally literally see things I imagine
Yeah good one guys you sure got me there. What's next, the third eye and the astral realm are real?

>If you cannot see any of the stars in OP's picture, can you recall your dreams?
rarely
>If you can recall them, are they blurry or clear?
its a vague memory of what happened there is no visual
>after answering the above questions now I ask: can you hear music in your head?
no
>can you play a song at any point in your head and hear it clearly as if you were listening to it?
absolutely not

So how do these people problem solve? When I’m trying to figure something out, write something or remember a specific piece of information it’s pretty useful being able to bounce ideas and thoughts between myself with ‘voices’ in my head

Found the NPC

This is me as well, isn't it actually that you're a retard if you CAN see an actual image?
