What is the Gravity's Rainbow of video games?
What is the Gravity's Rainbow of video games?
A game that people act is well made but no one really enjoys playing it?
Gone Home
A pseud-magnet, you mean? Look no further than Undertale.
not sure that there's a game as bad as gravity's rainbow
dwarf fortress's source code is probably pretty close by now
I personally love this book, and while, yes it's incredibly challenging to read, if you do enough prep/research, like you would in Dark Souls or other classically difficult games, the reward is actually a pretty fulfilling/rewarding experience, at least in small bursts and in hindsight view of the whole.

Yea Forums is full of children, who knew?
It's a general reliving the traumas of war through a witch's demonic pavlovian ritual to control his military wing.
It's actually kinda cool in context (if youre not stupid anyway).
It’s LITERALLY a guy EATING SHIT
>t. brainlet
Yeah, but it's a metaphor and he's mentally deranged. It is part of a witch's ritual, the path way to this room was lined with symbols representing the stages of hell, some of which are very esoteric.
He's being given what he wants.
ascent to God's throne in kabbalistic tradition.*
lmao people have tricked you into thinking you're smart for reading about people eating shit. I bet you love modern art too

>It’s LITERALLY a guy EATING SHIT
This book is Yea Forums incarnate. You can't come here and unironically say that you hate it
joyce is also a terrible writer that stupid people pretend to like because his writing is awful
oh no user im afraid that you aren't going to make it
Killer 7, probably. Even referenced it.
My toilet runneth over.
BioShock games
MGS2 is the equivalent in terms of eminent pomo example of its medium
MGS series MGS2 specifically.
>This book is Yea Forums incarnate.
God, no. Not even when Yea Forums was good. The book is insightful, critical of the Military Industrial complex and unironically woke as hell, even from a modern perspective. Current Yea Forums is more like Fahrenheit 451, only endorsing the society it depicts rather than warning from it.
it's also very cute and funny!
>The smallest things give me a great cockstand- a whorish movement of your mouth, a little brown stain on the seat of your white drawers, a sudden dirty word spluttered out by your wet lips, a sudden immodest noise made by you behind and then a bad smell slowly curling up out of your backside.
>At every fuck I gave you your shameless tongue come bursting out through your lips and if I gave you a bigger stronger fuck than usual fat dirty farts came spluttering out of your backside. You had an arse full of farts that night, darling, and I fucked them out of you, big fat fellows, long windy ones, quick little merry cracks and a lot of tiny little naughty farties ending in a long gush from your hole. It is wonderful to fuck a farting woman when every fuck drives one out of her. I think I would know Nora’s fart anywhere. I think I could pick hers out in a roomful of farting women. It is a rather girlish noise not like the wet windy fart which I imagine fat wives have. It is sudden and dry and dirty like what a bold girl would let off in fun in a school dormitory at night. I hope Nora will let off no end of her farts in my face so that I may know their smell also.
holy BASED!!! the original brapposter
>“Mr Leopold Bloom ate with relish the inner organs of beasts and fowls. He liked thick giblet soup, nutty gizzards, a stuffed roast heart, liverslices fried with crustcrumbs, fried hencods' roes. Most of all he liked grilled mutton kidneys which gave to his palate a fine tang of faintly scented urine.”
>Yea Forums advocates a censorious hellscape where the elite dictate every single thing you're allowed to know
this is one of the few large sites that don't follow the twitter standard of only banning people that don't agree with the site lead's politics, user, how do we want to be the censors?
there is a very convenient overlap in pseuds that extol both joyce and pynchon
a very useful filter can built from these
Is Inherent Vice any good?
The novel specifically
The best part of Gravity's Rainbow is Byron the Lightbulb. You cannot disprove this.
Overall it's his weakest book. And I don't even mind his shorter, less ambitious works but even in that regard I preferred Bleeding Edge and Vineland. But it's still fine, I guess.
Alright thanks.
La-Mulana
What the FUCK is that scene with the old sailor on his bed in Lot 49 supposed to mean?
He's boring, but he was one of the first writers to showcase how a newly unveiled technique in writing fiction could peel back layers of the human soul. Dubliners and Portrait are works of very fragile construction, but Ulysses was revolutionary and deserves its reputation.
Psuedo faggots just pretend to like shit like Gravity's Rainbow because they think it will make them appear smart
see
No, I actually enjoyed it a lot. It was about a whole lot of stuff I find interesting.
I at least read it. Can you say the same, faggot?

>Comparing a masterpiece to vidya
that's right you're smart about loving reading passages about people eating shit
>t. brainlet
MGS 2 maybe?
I kinda wonder if Kojima ever read Gravity's Rainbow. Parts of the MGS series seen sort of inspired by it.
Uniconically Mario 64. Though nothing is really as fun as Gravity's Rainbow. But 64 is the most fun vidya I played so there you go.
Maybe not. But Pynchon included Kojima in a book so Pynchon probably has played MGS2.
I kind of doubt it, Kojima talked a lot about his influences and is really open about them. Probably would have mentioned him at some point.
Pynchon on the other hand definitely knows of Kojima and mentions him in one of his books.
I know! I really liked Bleeding Edge.
Bleeding Edge
Has nothing on the antagonist of Tony White's Road Rage.
Pynchons my fav writer for sure because my fav thing in books is goofs, gags, jokes and rambunctious behavior, and his books are full to the brim of it. Every novel is like one of those novelty snake cans, you open the book & POP you get a face fulla snakes and you fall back cackling. The mad mind, the crack genius, to do it! and then you think hmmm whats he gonna do next, this trickster, and you pick the book back up and BZZZZZZZZZZ you get a shock and Hahahahahah you've been pranked again by the old pynchmeister, that card. "Did that Pynch?" he says, laughing yukyukyukyuk. Watch him as he shoves a pair of plastic buck teeth right up into his mouth and displays em for you- left, right, center- "you like dese? Do i look handsome???" Pulls out a mirror. "Ah!" Hand to naughty mouth. And you're on your ass again laughing as he snaps his suspenders, exits stage right, and appears again hauling a huge golden gong.
absolutely based. why cant comedians be like this
Joyce uses rather crazy techniques in Finnegans Wake. His craft as puzzlemaker/poet in FW is really remarkable and worth trying to figure out; too bad I do not care about the stories he wishes to tell.
Jokes are supposed to be funny, you know. I'll take someone like RA Wilson over Pynchon any time.
Killer7 is more like Stuart Home's books.
Dark Souls
>Even referenced it.
where?
Ulmeyda masturbating in front of a concert hall right before it's hit by a rocket.
