The chance triggers whenever someone else crafts a badge for it, but it's really fucking low even when you're a higher level and get boosted chances(boosts are a percentage, so +40% chance of .05 percent or whatever the fuck it is doesn't exactly make them start raining)

Basically depending on your Steam level you get a chance to automagically receive a random booster pack (3 cards) for one of your games every other day. You either sell it as is or open it and try for holos (rare cards which are usually very expensive).

So should I now also try completing my other badges and try to aim for a higher level or is there a (((softcap))) for these packs

Saw this coming a mile away. Steam was committing fraud by changing the rules mid contest to favor one group over another. Their legal team probably got wind of it and chewed someone's asshole out till they reverted back to the original rules. They put in the team randomize to fix the imbalance, which they should have done in the first place instead of letting people pick.
