Top: overrated bad looking shit
Bottom: overrated good looking shit

Why was it that BotW was so much more satisfying to explore than RDRII? BotW felt smaller, less detailed, and didn't look nearly as good in terms of pure graphical fidelity, and yet I've sunk nearly 150 hours into it and counting, while I stopped playing RDRII at only around 80.

Basically the equivalent of sticking a HDMI cable into a 3DS, it’s still a portable console.

this again

Maybe they shouldn't have developed a giant open world game for a handheld.

Considering it performs best docked its more of a stationary console than a handheld. Sorry you’re just going to have to cope with the fact that Nintendo makes shit hardware and the games look like shit.

I am a big fan of Rockstar's games. I honestly think RDR2 is an extremely boring looking game. It seems to have no real style at all, it is so blandly photorealistic, more than basically any game I have ever played. I went back and played RDR1, and I think it looks a bit more distinctive, looks more like a classic spaghetti western with the colors and dried out look. RDR2's visual style just has no real character or identity to me, it's totally flat, it reminds me a lot of the Ubisoft look. That's why I find it hard to appreciate its beauty.

I feel the opposite because RDR2's map actually has cool and weird secrets to find. In BotW, you mostly just find koroks wherever you look and shrines.

Just a reminder that this game is not designed even for the Switch, it is a WiiU game.
A game made for a system with literally 6 times less memory than a regular console (or 3.5 times less memory than the switch), and a CPU that don't support basic shit found on any other CPU since 1999.
It's quite fucking obvious that cuts have to be made, and would be a shame for anyone to make an open world game designed for the switch that looks worse than it somehow.

>great gameplay vs shit gameplay

It had a mobile chipset retard it’s a portable system also what kind of fuckin caveman buys a switch which whole appeal is to be portable and stick it in a dock? I only ever dock my switch for smash so I can use a GameCube controller otherwise why not just play in portable and be comfortable

just a reminder Nintendo could produce much better hardware, but they don't, they cheap out in every aspect. I wonder why their games look like shit then? Most Switch games look very similar to Gamecube/Wii games.
Can the Switch actually achieve 1080p 30fps in any of its main franchise games while docked? I'll wait.

Bottom is objectively superior in every single way, but i'll still have to give it a pass because its not Zelda

All the games with mario on the name runs at 1080p/60.

easy for a mario game that looks like Mario Galaxies.
meanwhile Zelda gets 1080p 20 fps

The joycons aren't comfortable is why, dumbass.

Stop nitpicking not all areas in botw are like that. Many areas also had trees

if its a handheld why does it cost 300$ and its games 60$? Also why is it that massive and why does the battery die after 3 hours?

It runs mostly at 30 FPS now after nintendo patched and repatched and re-repatched the thing.
But it's not a very good example of what the switch can do because it's a freaking WiiU game, with all the compromises you have to do to make a WiiU game, such as never actually using the CPU for floating point, because even the fucking new 3DS have a better floating performance than the WiiU.
Also the awful blurry textures to fit on the GB of memory available for the developers on the WiiU. Nintendo could literally make a texture pack with textures with twice the resolution of everything easily with the 3.5GB of memory available for games on the switch and not lose a single frame per second of performance.

You look so superficial you probably judge games by their physical appearance.

>bump

That's because you're blind or retarded

Gameplay > Grahpics

So RDR2 wins both?

Red Dead had no reason to be open world, it's just filler, BOTW was based around the open world

Also Red Dead's physics make it absolutely fucking useless to explore unless your on a vehicle and even that is debateble

They are both good games on their own right but to compare graphics only is retard big brain

>muh gameplay
lol, Nintendo can afford to make good graphics, they choose not to because they know their fanbase will buy regardless.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4channel are always willing to help you clear this problem right up.

You appear to have saved and reposted an image from your mobile device without checking for if it has been compressed or not. Whoops! Did you know, phoneposting measurably reduces the quality and fidelty of images circulated across the Internet? This is because opening large images on a phone redirects to a resized image that is capped at x1024 and converted to .jpg! If the user downloads these images without checking the url, they will be getting the converted image, not the original! Once these inferior images are reposted by the phoneposter, and saved by another, they lose their m.jpg tag, which is a primary indicator of their origin and the malicious act perpetrated by the phoneposter!

Phoneposting is already poor form due to its pernicious effect on the post quality and culture of this imageboard. If you must phonepost, please check your image urls before downloading them! If you see the "m", remove it and launch the page. If you get a 404, replace ".jpg" with ".png" instead. It's foolproof!

Now, there's no need to thank me. I'm just doing my part in ensuring that the greater image pool on 4channel and the Internet is not being degraded!

>he didnt find the golf

BOTW is actually fun to play Red Dead isn't.
But yeah switch hardware is shit, we know.

We don't cotton to chomsky honks around theses parts, freak.

Let me tell you something OP, and I advice you to listen real close. Don't make a thread without a starting point for discussion. Just saying "discuss" isn't a good look.

why so hostile

ITT Nintenbronies absolutely coping over their mediocre ubishit clone

Soul vs Soulless

I bought both and enjoyed both for different reasons.

Are there literally people that don't buy every video game that they want to play? Is it because they're poor? I don't understand.

SO(N)Y BTFO’D ONCE AGAIN

RDR2 on pc when?

Attached: baku.png (728x541, 114K)

RDR2 honestly doesnt even look that good. The only thing that looks good are the vistas from afar. Most things up close merely look OK, and Rockstar has the worst character models in the business

Well, it sold pretty well and it's getting a sequel, so none of the hate-- justified or not-- amounts to anything.

As usual, complaining will be done by "STOP ENJOYING THINGS I DON'T LIKE" types.

Imaging being OP irl in a room full of friends talking shit comparing BotW with Red Dead.. wait OP is in Yea Forums, no wonder he has no friends, like all of us here.

photorealism trash is a disease of modern gaming

RDR2 was such a slog that even my normie GTA-slurping friends couldn't bear to play it to the end. BotW has its issues (FUCK the weapon durability system) but it was a lot more enjoyable and unique than RDR2 as a game. RDR2 just has graphics and presentation going for it, the game part is subpar.

What are you talking about? RDR2 has more vibrant colors than the first game

Having played both, RDR2 had way more effort put into it.
This is irrefutable.

>it is a WiiU game
So does that mean BOTW 2 will be on the Wii U also?

No, but unless nintendo changes the assets to actually fill in the extra memory, it will still not be a good example of what the switch can do.
