It's not so bad if you farm for Alchemic Bounty and dismantle bonus crafted items. If you have it as both a passive and a skill shard, it'll give you 5 items instead of 1, so you can easily regain rare materials.

A tip for this bit since everyone seems to have trouble here, make sure you explore every last bit of the towers to get what you need to get past this.

Any food you find in walls can be reverse engineered and then recooked to put it in the shop. You can do the same thing with gold.

I used Durandal around that point. The QCF technique is great since with white GS expertise it OHKOs if you gain speed with it. Especially the Haagentis since you need like 20 of their plumes and it's the one drop the game uses for all important shards like highjump and reflect.

You have to hit an enemy with a technique for it to be counted as learned. Mastering it actually doesn't affect the percentage.

You don't need to read them at all.

It counts it, that's why it brings up the menu prompt in the bottom right corner when you stumble upon a new move without the book telling you.

The palette swaps honestly arent all that bad, its more offputting that the game pulls a dark souls and is substantially weaker post hidden desert.

I think they were aiming to make Buer sort of the game's monster mascot since they are so abusable (only minions you can actually attack yourself), are both a familiar minion and an attack spell, and were one of the first monsters shown in that 2D mock-up picture during the initial kickstarter pitch.
