I don't understand how there were so many pc gamers in the 90's and early 00's. Our family got our first computer 2006, i had no understanding of computers prior to that.

Home computers have existed since the late 70s, and were 'mainstream' since the mid/late 80s.
You were either extremely young, poor, a minority/immigrant, or some combination thereof.
We had a computer since like 1995. As far as I remember that was common.
that boy looks so fuckable
no h-homo
>not understanding that PCs have been around for almost four decades
>not understanding that people have occupied time and space before your family, therefore bought PCs
I had an Amiga growing up and played games like prehistoric, but that shit was wack, before 2000 it was all about the consoles, PC obsetion started around 2005+
catholicpilled
it was, we got ours in 1997 cause it took me ages to convince my dad we needed a computer. we were like the only house in my neighborhood without a computer.
shit sounds like your family's retarded
Parents of that time spoiled their kids because when they were kids they had nothing.
PC gaming was damn expensive in the 90s, but at least pirating was a common thing so kids didnt need to buy games.
In some european countries, when you didnt had a pc you had some version of Amiga which meant boxes, boxes full of floppy disks for parts of games and games in general
>In some european countries, when you didnt had a pc you had some version of Amiga which meant boxes, boxes full of floppy disks for parts of games and games in general
Kek this. We had literal tons of pirated floppy disks with probably all the games ever released for Amiga. Dont know where we got them.
actually, while being only the 4%, non religious gay people are the 60% of pedophiles.
My Dad worked in refineries/plants and he always took home the leftover/spare computer parts. I imagine that's how he got our computer in the 90s. He still does it to this day.
My father was really fucking geeky in the 90s, of course he had a PC. The early internet (usenet I think) was where he got all his info on video games and anime and he let me play on an ancient SNES emulator full of untranslated Japanese games.
while only being 4% of Yea Forums, 90% of retarded posts come from /pol/
Ah, good times playing MS-Dos games...
Opposite for me dude
My mom had a pc in the house in the late 90s, and eventually we had a couple of them in the early 00s and we were pretty fucking poor. Of course it wasn't my pc it was a family pc, but still.
On the other hand my first game console was a ps2 when I was nine and it wasn't even bought by anyone in my family, it was a gift from my godfather.
I mean computers had utility especially in the late 90s, but consoles are a straight up expensive luxury item.
>retro shota
kek, seething tranny
The Pc market was completely different back then with tons of exclusives that could only work on Pc. Now it’s just console port machine with all these fucking meme spouting casuals ruining everything.
try something original for once
we got a computer in 97 i think, they were pretty common back then, even in the small hick town i lived in. pretty sure my elementary school had several.
it came with a game called XS. the store had forgotten to install the mouse driver on the computer, so my dad had to drive back to the store and pick up the floppy disk with the driver. different era.
for a tranny? nah, keep protecting your gay pedos.
it wasn't like EVERYONE had them like everyone has a smartphone now, but they weren't ridiculously rare. I'd say about half of my friends had one. My dad was a computer engineer so I had my own in my bedroom which was one of his old ones and when my friends came round we'd hook up the family one in the main room and mine through a giant fucking cable that went out the window and play command and conquer against each other from opposite sides of the house.
You're not white is probably the reason.
I will. You however should consider that you will never be considered white enough to be in your ethnostate. You will lose that dick measuring contest.
I had a computer and internet since like 95. For several years I was the only one with both and everyone came to my house to use shit like Encarta or watch porn... Mostly pictures since at the time all Real Player did was buffering for 10 minutes just to play a choppy and really low res 2 mins clip of Pamela Anderson sucking on his husband dick on a boat.
Turns out not everybody is you.
This is the earliest PC game that I remember playing.
my cousin used to get me a bunch of pirated games in the late 90s. no idea how he got them, probably usenet. he got me half-life and later helped me so i could play cs online.
died of lung cancer a few years back, that sucked.
Oh yeah I was in a similar boat. I only met him when I was 15, and he introduced me to PC gaming. Died because he had some extreme intestine bullshit and overdosed on the pain medication. Honestly I'm kind of glad he's free from the pain. He couldn't eat solid foods.
i remember when i was a kid gaming in the 2000s, i was playing age of empires 1/2, the sims, red faction, half life, quake 1/2/3, there was plenty of people gaming on pc.
i ended up getting my own pc because my dad knew alot about them and gave me one.
My senpai got one some time in the early 90s.
I'd play a lot of games that came on multiple floppy discs or came with the computer.
>3D Pinball
>Ski-Free
>Chip's Challenge
>Mario Teaches Typing
>Commander Keen
>We're Back a Dinosaur Story
>Treasure Cove
>Treasure Mountain
>Sim City 2000
>Quake
>Doom
>Castle Wallenstein
Eventually we got a CD drive and had shit like
>Time Commando
>Battle Beast
>Shogo
>Septera Core
>Phantasmagoria
>7th Guest
>11th Hour
But I never got into the RTS or Isometric games that so many seem to shower with accolades still to this day.
I typed f a m and it changed it to senpai?
its called a wordfilter senpai
>Summer Yea Forums isn't re-
Take that shit to /trash/ user
>half life logo looks like 入
>they changed it to its antonym 出
the fucking madmen
MODS GET THIS FILTH
We had a PC since 1993. Most kids in my age group had one before 1998. And I live in eastern fucking Europe.
>This nigga didn't have a Windows 3.1 PC with all those sweet 200kb games on it
lmao
I remember using one of those chairs. My ass did not appreciate it.
it was the next big purchase since it was the dawn of the commercial pc industry
Why did people stop putting the PC tower underneath the monitor like that?
Multiple monitors.
It was cool and useful to own one. Now people have switched over to tablets and mobile phones. A lot of households have ditched the desktops in favor of those.
Nowadays desktops are only used for work or as meme gayming things.
I feel like being a "PC gamer" in the 90s was vastly different to what it means today. Like in the 90s all I played was shit like doom, warcraft, or starcraft and played everything else on consoles. Now PC gamer just means you play 98% of games on a PC.
I still got one, not using it for sitting but if anyone needs a steel chair I can hook them up.
woah, that's alot of projecting
