Just play this for the first time on PC.
Why does it look... Soulless. Are there any fixes to it? Its the steam version

You should downgrade to version 1.1 (I think), it adds back in the music that was removed
Also get the widescreen and resolution fixes and possbly a controller mod

>Why does it look... Soulless.
I mean, you're spending most of the start in a run down hood. Try exploring a bit. Also it was a huge map for the time so you're going to see a lot of places that look somewhat similar.

It was ported by retards and they axed a lot of graphical effects
Get SkyGFX mod to restore a bunch of PS2 effects

look into silent patch. the steam version is a terrible terrible port

He means the look of the game doofus. PC version is bonked compared to the console version.

Thanks everyone for tge suggestions ill go look into some of the patches like skygfx

>PC version is bonked compared to the console version.
I've played both versions and if anything it looks way better on PC and you don't have to deal with pop ins. Unless there was some update I don't know about the PC there isn't much of a difference let alone any "bonked" factor going on.

The PS2 effects were something the console itself added, no other version came with them.

>there isn't much of a difference
For starter, take a look for the colors in PS2 version compared to PC

overview of the features that the downgrader has

You need to install the PS2 shaders and filters mod. For some reason they removed a lot of things that made this game beautiful in the PC port.

That's a retarded claim. PS2 version has a special post processing effect but it's not because of the console itself.

Get mod/patch that adds ORANGE atmosphere

Are the other ps2 gta ports this butchered?

to varying degrees

Yes it did, you could apply them to PS1 games if you played them on the PS2. It was a selling point at the time, GTA:SA and MGS 2 + 3 are the only games that really made use of them.

Game gets more based as you progress
Don't be fooled
And ignore the idiots shitting on it
The online is meh but its not unplayable

he's talking about this retard, check the colors

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 87K)

Not as bad as SA but all of them are pretty awful. The only GTA with outstanding PC port is V (1&2 is PC games first and foremost).

Is there a source for this claim?

>The online is meh but its not unplayable
What's wrong with SAMP?

It's so mild I have never even noticed it and I've replayed both version probably 3 times now. Mild differences in lighting aren't that big of a deal.

I know this. I was mainly referring to the orange sky

>it's so mild
That's just one of the many problems from the port boyo

get your eyes checked

its not mild at all, its extremely dramatic and noticeable.

PS2 version looks like fucking shit and if you prefer it you haven't been laid in the past 5 years

Do go on then faggot because once again I haven't noticed anything crazy.

My eyes are great, fun fact is that a staggering amount of males suffer from some sort of color blindness so maybe you need to get yours checked.

>muh orange glow
Yeah, side by side sure it's noticeable but otherwise not so much. I obviously didn't miss it if I never noticed it was gone.

>I've replayed both version probably 3 times
How the fuck did you replayed them with no eyes bitchnigga?

Downgrade the version, then install the silent patch, there should be a version of the Silent Patch that has everything included (including the controller mod, widescreen, and the GFX patch that makes it look more like the PS2 version). You'll have a way better experience and you'll get MTA and SAMP too.

What's kinda amusing is that I like both the "souless" non-GFX version and the soul GFX version. The original PC one has a nice looking blue sky and at certain points of the day there's this purplish sky in the desert that I adore. But on the other hand the Modded/PS2 version does give it more atmosphere and makes it feel more like California. I really can't pick which one I prefer more, they are both so good. So on multiple playthroughs I switch between which one I like at the moment that I play it.

fuck man, bringing back the ps2 memories

> Cars are always dirty (partially fixed in subsequent patches).
>Moon displays no phases.
>Trucks like the Roadtrain and Yosemite no longer have dual rear wheels.
>Incorrect lighting of the environment, causing everything to look darker than it is.
>Parachute object animation is displayed incorrectly, making it look static no matter how the player moves.
>The decals on many vehicles like the Sandking and Bloodring Banger do not display correctly.
>Sun lens flare effect not appearing with AMD/Intel graphics cards
>Cars doesn't have unique numberplates
>Cars are still shiny after it exploded
Among other things

So, THE way to play SA is with a piss filter?

Attached: anime question 3.png (720x672, 401K)

yes
because it HAS SOUL
you DON'T want a SOULLESS game?

The only time I've seen a comfy piss filter was in DE:HR. Everywhere else it looks like shit.

wasn't ported by retard, the port was gimped because sony payed them to do it

>San Andreas
>soulless
I know it's bait but still, drink bleach.

Don't forget missing decorative meshes in all the cities. What the fuck was up with that?

Not saying you are wrong, but GTA VC is much better and we don't have to play as a nigga. Not sure why Yea Forums dislike GTA VC right now or names it as s()y/sjw game

ps2 version has an even more intense purple desert sky

how is vc better

i think its good in SA. it can be REALLY intense especially in the desert, but it gives the game its own unique look

VC really only has it's map going for it and the reason why the map was so good is because it was tiny so every bit had a lot more detail and was easier to memorize. I can't get anywhere in GTA V without a map but VC takes maybe 5 minutes to have the whole place memorized and it's a lot better for it

VC map is shit tho

The biggest problem I ever had in SA on the PS2 was that the driving camera wasn't tilted low enough so during dawn or dusk you were driving towards the sun with the camera staring at the ass of your car instead of the road ahead, and the rest of the screen was bathed in that shitty post-processing orange dehydrated hangover piss. I never realized why I preferred the PC version so much but now I know. Thanks.

It's not though, it actually has plenty of detail and fun shortcuts everywhere.

Well I'll be, I never properly finished the GFX version, so maybe I should do that just to see it, still I do like the non-GFX version at times because it's cheap look reminds me of skyboxes like Half-Life and some early Doom mods, still, I'll replay it full in GFX
