Specifically in America it's close between persona and final fantasy. In general though neither of those games hold a candle to dragon Quest simply because of how much Japan obsesses over that series

Final Fantasy says no.

sadly

Yes. FF is just sort of there for everyone to buy because of its legacy, but no one actually likes it all that much anymore:

No, it's still and will continue to be Pokémon

Only weebs like this shit
Real men play Dragon Quest

Final Fantasy still sells more.

More like Dragon Cringe lmao

P5 is the only jrpg i can play in front of friends without feeling like some weeaboo or faggot otaku

>Not having weeb friends
>Playing any single player game when your friends are over
>Having to try and put up a facade because you can't let your "friends" know what you like
Don't worry, your "friends" already know you're an autistic lost cause.

Yeah, a highschool anime dating simulator! no cringe there

so, the disc is not in the steelbook

that's not pokemon

>pre-order exclusive summons
sigh

No its like the kh3 collector, it has its own plastic box like the regular game, plus you have the empty steelbox.

Most people in the west who play dragon quest are weebs as well user

looooool

Not even close.
Persona 5 sold 2.8 million copies.
Final Fantasy XV sold 8 million copies.
Dragon Quest XI sold 4 million copies.
Kingdom Hearts 3 sold 5 million copies.
Pokemon sells how ever many billions of copies it sells.

Persona is probably in 5th place though.

I bet they're either useless or broken is fuck.
It's also weird considering the original game didn't give you summons until after Midgar (I think Choco/Mog is the earliest one).

Amazing how much staying power FF has despite everything that's happened. I guess it's because Square-Enix has insanely bloated marketing campaigns.

Pokemon is definitely the most popular. Persona 5 is probably the most favorably reviewed recent JRPG among critics, for whatever that is worth.

No? It's Final Fantasy.
I wish it was Persona though because Final Fantasy is pleb tier.
Then we could maybe get more Persona games instead of one every decade.

>Then we could maybe get more Persona games instead of one every decade.
That's some bizarre logic.
Mainline FF releases are notoriously slow. Persona gets plenty of spin-offs.

it gets by on brand name alone, much like pokemon.

No, just the most popular Chad simulator series.

>Real men play Dragon Quest
the target audience is children. The games have furigana to make them easier to read.

persona fants want more persona and not dancing queers or chibi shit for 3ds
