Metal Mario.
Why do Nintendo games always look like shit ?
Soul.
Fucking shiny boi lmao
what is a soul?
>promotional material for N64 graphics
it's ok when Nintendo does it!
Bad 3d render = soul
Because the man wasn’t hired
I kind of get that argument. Making something look cartoony or stylized versus going for cutting edge realism arguably wont age as poorly. The cutting edge will only advance further and make the realistic shit look laughable while you can make a case that "oh cartoon soul blah blah" and say it holds up.
Looks like absolute ass
Looks like something you'd make in solidworks
>reflects the sky
>indoors
How do you know he's indoors? You can't see the roof. It could just be a very tall wall that's behind him
Hazemazecaze
It's obviously not Hazy Maze Cave in the render, though. A beta version, perhaps, or inspired by it, but that room isn't found anywhere in that level in the final game. It could have very well had an open roof at some point.
Just off the assets and the weird oil spread in the background air, I'd guess it was some sort of beta form of the stage. I actually vividly remember a lot of the Nintendo magazine stuff or adds being done in this smooth, shiny style back in the 90s and early 2000s. I don't think the games were ever intended to look like that in graphics or layout, and advertising was wild and lose back then. That said, they were always real fun to look at and never detracted from the games experience when I was a kid when the game didn't look like the promotional art.
When will graphics reach the level of early FMVs and 3D renders
Lmao they tried to pass this off as I game graphics and we barely got real time ray traced visuals 20 years later
I do remember n64 having better graphics due to aa and af filtering and perspective correction but fog was everywhere and texture sound and other stuff was pretty crap because of the small cartridges
I wish ssd/ram/expansion carts would come back now thelat they are cheap maybe that's what the gen 9 consoles will do since we've basically hit the limit of gpu/CPU power for the next decade with Zen and rt dxr type shit
These are the graphics we thought we would have in 2019 back then...
A miserable little pile of assets.
Because there are clearly walls retard
You dummy, there are walls outside
>It could just be a very tall wall that's behind him
Don't call others retards if you don't even know how to read.
The reflection is very clearly only reflecting the floor and not any of the surroundings you colossal retards
Metal Mario in smash ultimate would be like a super powerful version of mario (like akuma to ryu)
>shoots two blue fireballs instead of one
>side b is the mario 64 dive
>down b is the ground pound
>up be is a really powerful super jump punch
>his dash attack could be like king dedede's just tripping over his sheer weight on the opponent
>could even have smash 64 mario's old moves, like his old forward air and forward smash.
it'd be fucking awesome.
Not true. You can see the torch closest to him and part of the green wall reflected in both of his shoes and the glow from the torch around the rim of him.
Once again, there's nothing that says the room can't have an open roof in the direction he's facing.
call me soiboy all you want, you cant deny Metalchads are the best kind of chad.
>let's purposefully add a stronger version of a character already in the roster, that would be balanced, trust me
NINTENDO
