And you're a soulless faggot so kill yourself so the universe can be done with you

Whats more soulful than this?

N64 is the better console for when you have people over, there's a lot of great multiplayer games. PS1 is for when you're alone especially I'd you're playing an RPG, seriously it's a better RPG machine than the Super Famicom
Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest. Star Ocean, Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon. SaGa, Legend of Mana. What an awesome system

But nobody can actually play the games because those consoles don't excist anymore. STUPID.

Here is proof against that-

And that's just RPG's there's so many more action games like Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, RockMan, Tekken, Street Fighter Zero, Ace Combat, Time Crisis
I play them both daily, I just picked up a big stack of maybe 20 PS1 games from Japan and a couple N64 ones

ps1 had better mascot platformers with crash and spyro, as well as syphon filter, metal gear solid, ff7 and 9, chrono cross, dragon warrior VII

At least can we agree that PS1 and n64 were both more soulful than every gen afterwards?

>Ps1 had better mascot platformers

"No"

>tfw having both and living the best possible version of this debate

that abomination of a controller hindered gameplay immensely. mario is the only good one, vs the 6 good spyro and crash titles.

I love my N64 but no tomb raider, rayman, medievil, mdk, crash, spyro, tekken, RE1 & RE3, MGS, SF alpha, Oddworld, ridge racer, fear effect, silent hill, tomba, parasite eve, Final Fantasy, Grandia, Klanoa, soul reaver??? Get the fuck outta my face.

What's wrong with the N64 controller? It's pretty comfortable

saggy stick
>inb4 "mine never sagged!"

>that abomination of a controller hindered gameplay immensely
Why do zoomers make themselves so easy to identify?

Eh, I had one controller that got messed up and that's because I was a dumb kid and ruined it with smash bros

almost randomly decided button placement, and the stick being at the bottom of a giant spike for some odd reason splitting the d pad from the buttons. forces you to hold it at an awkward angle to get the stick and the buttons meaning you cant use the d pad for anything meaningful

But the SATURN was the most SOULFULL!!

H-HEY SATURN EXISTED TOO!!

SEGA SATURN IS THE BEST CONSOLE IN HISTORY!!! SALES DON'T MATTER!!

LOOK AT ME GIVE THE SATURN ATTENTION

sega consoles were always shit, edgy contrarians who want to be part of some elite club are the only people claiming otherwise

This but unironically.

>almost randomly decided button placement
I can understand why a zoomer might think this because they think gaming started with the SNES, but the N64 controller button layout follows the Saturn 6-button controller very closely.

The only difference is the position of the middle which adds a control stick and rear trigger to the Saturn controller layout. This was done so the controller could have three different holding positions as a backup for Nintendo if 3D failed to take off.

mario 64 is really the only one that was needed. I played that game for years. it was a masterpiece that no other platform from that era could touch and I say this as a crash fan

Nah, the stick placement is fine, you're not trying to hold it like a Super Famicom controller are you? I've seen kids try that before

do it right OP

Attached: soulsoulless.jpg (1259x503, 101K)

nah it sucked. very uncomfortable. had to come up with my own unorthodox way of holding it and I wasn't the only person in my group of friends who had to come up with their own styles because the standard way of holding it was so fucking unwieldy.

Yeah kiddo. You're the only one I ever met with that problem

ps2 design is brutalist kino

>had to come up with my own unorthodox way of holding it and I wasn't the only person in my group of friends who had to come up with their own styles
Was this the sub-80 IQ playgroup?

t. baby hands

Leave him alone, he took the short bus to school he can't help it

Why are you quoting me?

>What's wrong with the N64 controller?
I have normal sized hands so my knuckles would be rub and bump against each other.

Yeah mate, I've got larger than average sized hands and I have no problem maybe if you lost weight

you are a faggot

that is all

>I've got larger than average sized hands
lol ok lil Donnie

You guys are so obsessed with your seppo boyfriends you'd think it would kill you if you went a minute without posting about them

I'm still trying to figure that out, I was convinced by stuff on the internet for years that the N64 controller was horrible and had a terrible layout and ergonomics, then I bought one a couple months ago.
Second stick be damned, I love this stupid spaceship looking thing.

N64 is a fun console to collect for, there's not a lot in terms of quantity but there's just so many great games on it, and if you buy Japanese games aren't even very expensive, typically ¥1,000 to ¥2,000 CIB, if you just want loose carts than maybe ¥250 to ¥700

I'm gonna be honest with you, I bought this controller at Half Price Books and ordered a USB adapter online.

Other than Symphony of the Night I agree. And while Sotn will always be my favorite, it alone can't beat the sheer number of timeless classics on N64

USB? N64 doesn't have that, the only problem with buying used controllers is that a lot of the times the sticks are in bad shape, or people are selling third party controllers which are almost exact replicas as if they were first party ones.
Again, that's why you should stick with buying Japanese, I've bought stuff from the junk section of Book Off for 1/20 the price of EBay that to me look like they're on great shape, not mint but I mean there's no damage on the box of cartridge

N64 is the textbook example of a soulless console

crash and spyro are both better video games than mario 64, that's just a fact, the camera in m64 controls like a bus

Not a single N64 game has aged as well as SOTN. So no.

Games don't age

Ogre Battle 64

No no, I bought a USB adapter to plug my N64 controller into to use it on my computer.

Those shitty ass gen 5 3D games sure as fuck did.

Ew please don't tell me you're an Emucuck
Seppo games pre gen 6 are almost always garbage 3D Japanese games are just fine

That's bullshit though and you know it. SotN ages beautifully and only ever gets better, that part is right. Its why I love the game. But Smash 64 and F Zero X among others have also aged well in other ways. I can pop in F Zero X any day if the week and its ALWAYS fun.

fellate a shotgun

there's that buzzword again

>sheer number of timeless classics
the sheer number of PS1 classics vastly outshines the N64 classics and as a rule they also aged better

Nah, it's impossible to even have a library 20% as good as PS1, especially considering N64 literally had 20% of games compared to PS1's total. And no, not all of it was shovelware. For every 1 N64 soulful classic there are 5 PS1 soulful classics.
It just that your Bing Bing Wahoo brain can't process non-Nintendo games with very few exceptions (like GoldenEye)

Pic related still lacks a lot of good stuff.
