There has never been an Indie game made after 2010 that is as good as Swat 4 from 2005. All of it serves to appeal to retro games fans, niche genre fans and nerds. The issue is by the time (YOU) have heard of the game it has become to mainstream and it's toy line is already being made in China. Indie games for some reason got some sorta counterculture anti AAA bullshit going on currently and that sucks cause I think games Rising Storm shit all over anything made by Ubisoft but most small devs push for their game to be 2D pixel art cause it's cheap then say it's "inspired by some old ass game"

They have been included steam codes instead of the game for almost 10 years now. Physical died everywhere for 3 reasons. 1 digital goods are in unlimited supply, copy the files. 2 they are cheaper to sell and produce at your own store than to outsource to a disk manufacturer then give a middle man their cut for selling it. 3 no one like them anymore

Supposedly Modhau has some according to people but I havent seen any. And then theres a game like Tarkov where I'm on the fence of getting it but have heard theres tons of cheaters. And in a game that sounds tense like that, having some fuck ruin it just sounds too unfun.
