This meme need to die, the development of the remake was so fucking smooth compared to FF 12,13, 14 and 15, each FF in the last decade have gone through some serious shit but not the remake because they were very realistic about it from the start, it doesn't look amazing in-game and the battle system is exactly the same ever since the first trailer, yes it took them almost 5 years to release it but that only because they announced it too early with literally only the trailer being done.

user, the so-called remake is only covering Midgar. You won't get to see Aerith die.
Also, Nomura said he wanted of remake to be its own thing. So you can expect lot of stuff that wasn't even in the original, to be in the remake.
From shadow-clone-Jehova-witness thing, to Jessie being shoehorned because Roberto based her off of his wife, to tulpa Sephiroth that has KH personality because Nomura wants ebin rivalry between Sephiroth and Cloud that never existed before fucking AC.
As such, I wouldn't even be surprised if said Aerith lived this time around if certain [x] condition is met.

at this point cloud is the only one with more than two limits, seems like kills are required for more and that won't happen if I used aerith because I use tifa primarily for support/steal which is what she would have been

The best MP, Magic and Spirit stats of any character in the game for a start.

tifa heals way more than enough and MP is a non-issue in this game, spirit doesn't even matter. I'll gladly take the extra damage instead

btw tifa's dexterity is faster so the heals come out quicker

The point is, Aerith is much better for the role you're using Tifa as and Tifa arguably isn't even the third most useful damage dealer.

You knew Aerith was going to die so you had perfectly good justification not to use her and to use one of the least appropriate characters for her role instead, but don't pretend it was a logical choice for any reason other than the fact that at a certain point in the game any time put into Aerith is sacrificed.

Aerith's death was probably spoiled for most of the people who played the game at this point and I think Tifa's popularity was boosted by the fact lots of people are then more likely to avoid using/getting attached to Aerith.

Not saying Tifa wouldn't be more popular anyway but that plus being there for the whole game definitely widened the gap in her favour.

No it wasn't, they literally had to restart development in 2017 after 3 years of development because CC2 fucked up and at E32019 Nomura stated in interviews that they were constantly building and scrapping the game and only just recently decided on a direction, and also that they don't even know how big part 2 will be or what's even going to be in it.
