It's insane that even with 117 heroes, 90%+ of them are competitively viable every patch, with the incredibly majority of them being so uniquely designed that teams rely on players being a 'specialist' of the hero in order to hit its max potential (the major ones being difficult to play heroes like Meepo, Invoker, Techies, Visage, etc. etc.)

I've always liked competitive gaming. Competition lies at the very core of vidya, so it's only natural for there to spring up larger competitive scenes as the hobby itself grew to such a scale. It's fun to watch and participate in.

I'd argue being competitive is something people kind of fall into in an effort to find some way to boost their ego and self-confidence where they previously had none,or maybe competitive video games is just their chosen venue.
