Half way into Justice for all I deadlocked myself and had to restart the case
Asher Howard
When I first played through Big Top at the end when Edgeworth is shown, I was physically shocked and so I hit the power switch and so had to replay the final trial of that case
Also JFA is one of the most perfect sequels ever made.
Joshua Gray
Replaying the second game now. Holy shit the models look like crusty ass, but at least the music and writing holds up. I'm a little scared, as I'll soon be facing the circus case. I'm adamant this is the weakest game in the series by a wide margin, but I can't really skip it.
Owen Carter
NO way...
Landon Gutierrez
JFA's the best one tf are you talking about.
Henry Morgan
Magic isn't real
Carson Martinez
Watching game grumps has got me motivated to finally go finish the games i havent played.
I love the simplicity of the old ones, so I'm worried I'll hate the 3D models and voice acting
Brandon Green
No, that would be Trials and Tribulations. Listen, I respect your opinion, but on this day you were simply wrong.
Noah Baker
The 3D models are actually great and the voice acting is only in some (fortunately few) anime cutscenes.
Ayden Gonzalez
You keep telling yourself that, Anooooooooooon. Where do you think all these shitposts come from? Do you reeeeaaaalllly believe humans are capable of shitting up a board to this magnitude?
Brayden Barnes
>magically updates your autopsy report
Brayden Bailey
Wait a sec...is that? Holy shit!
Hudson Lewis
I respect that people prefer T&T, I see why. BUt what if I told you that T&T would be complete shit without all of the character development and, side-plots, and characters introduced in JFA.
People ignore that JFA introduced more moral complexity, themes, and character developement than any other game in the series. ANd people forget that, because of the terrible third case, The cases in JFA were all really fucking solid. More so than any game after the trilogy and AA1.
Just how JFA added the Magmatama an the evidence/profile rework would have been enough to make AA1 (and 4, 5, and 6) feel archaic, but JFA also perfected the pacing of the mysteries as well solidifying not only a great game and sequel, but a great base for new entries to build apon
Zachary Russell
Yeah I've played all of them. Big fan, keep up the good work Phoenix.
Jose Myers
>I was physically shocked and so I hit the power switch
Ah yes, as anyone would.
Hudson Torres
3>2=1
Owen Ramirez
>The cases in JFA were all really fucking solid. More so than any game after the trilogy and AA1.
I agree with 2-2, it's a solid case. But 2-1 and 2-3 are legitimately awful. The overarching story of AA2 in general is fairly weak and that brings the game down. They make brief mentions (literally single instances of dialog) to Edgeworth before 2-4 and that's it. Yeah the game is supposed to be the second of a trilogy and it does set things up well for AA3, but it's independent story is still weak as a whole.
2-4 is fucking fantastic of course.
Cooper Reyes
I recently got into these games. I beat the trilogy on switch and now I’m playing Apollo Justice on 3ds. Gotta admit its a lot less comfy than playing on the tv.
Connor Young
On the DS lite the off switch is right by where one of your hands rest, so when I jolted my hand slid the switch and turned it off (the DS's power and volume switch are very easy to move and my old unit is more worn into so it can turn off with just a small hand movement)
Austin Kelly
I know how a ds works ya dingus
Hudson Martinez
2-1 is fine. It has memorable moments and, like 1, it gives the player an intense feeling of satisfaction for solving simple contradictions. It also sets up the darker tone and themes of JFA perfectly, and foreshadows Phoenix's arc of re-learning what it means to be a lawyer by giving Phoenix amnesia.
People often through out all of 2-1 just because they think amnesia is an overused trope, ignoring the thematic importance it has to the plot. Other than that the only problem of the perfectly fine case is the plot hole of how Dustin Prince died of a snapped neck but still somehow managed to survive enough to write a message, which I give you, is a big fault.
also 2-2 is more than solid, it's the best second case in the series hands down, it's fantastic.
Matthew Kelly
Well.. yeah, I can't really argue with that.
Asher Sullivan
I agree 2-1 was pretty good and I even enjoyed 2-3. All the circus people were pretty funny to me
Evan Campbell
You didn't seem too
Jordan Cook
I love it, I'm only on 2-3 of the second game, but it feels good when things click and you can rapid fire out those objections.
Cameron Anderson
Ace Attorney is on many platforms. You can’t expect me to assume you were playing on a ds lite
Elijah Foster
You’re in for a wild ride when you get to 2-4. I only recently beat the trilogy but I wish I could erase my memory and replay that case

I finished the trilogy collection a few days ago and the circus case is in my top 3, what's so bad about that?
Cameron Reed
One of my favorite moments from the whole series is when that guy flips his hair back and gets that evil grin on his face. I couldn’t stop saying “Ohshitohshitohshit” and I knew I was experiencing kino
Austin Hill
I'm figuring that has to do with the whole reactions Phoenix is having when Edgeworth is mentioned, so I'm excited to get to those last two.
>Thought my switch froze the first time he was on screen

Currently playing through this
Not done yet so I can't really comment on the overall quality, but just from what I've played, it's EASILY the best of the 3DS Ace Attorney games. way more soul than 5 and 6 combined.
Maybe not as good as the first three, hard to say just yet. But they're clearly actually *trying* in this one. Makes me sad we had to wait until a fan-translation to see it.

JFA only has 4 cases. Of those 4 cases, 2 are some of the worst in the entire franchise. T&T doesn't have a single bad case. You can't give a game bonus points for introducing shit, otherwise AA1 would be the best for introducing everything.
Jayden Richardson
Guys, in 3-1, why did Mia slap Grossberg when Phoenix was talking about Dollie on the stand?

3-3 is definitely the weakest case in T&T, but that just shows how fucking amazing the game is, because that case has a lot of humor and is actually pretty decent.

Of course it is, it's what links Ema to Phoenix in Apollo.
Jaxon Rogers
3-2 is literally an S tier case, I don't know what you're talking about.
Honestly, of all the cases in the trilogy, I probably think of 2-4, 3-2, and 3-5 the most.
Jason Lewis
It’s definitely canon and gets brought up a bit in Apollo Justice. It’s a great case anyway, albeit a bit long
Jack Lee
It's been ages since I've played 2-1 but I remember thinking it was mediocre. The "he wrote the killer's name in blood!" is another terrible troupe compounded with the amnesia. It's also just not that memorable and retreads the same ground 1-1 did just because they wanted a tutorial case.
>and foreshadows Phoenix's arc of re-learning what it means to be a lawyer by giving Phoenix amnesia.
Think you're reaching.
>also 2-2 is more than solid, it's the best second case in the series hands down, it's fantastic.
I'd rank 3-2, 6-2, and maybe 1-2 above it. It's definitely not one of the best cases in the series, always felt like it was the most "middle of the road" case in the entire series.
Carson Hughes
It fucks with the continuity (Phoenix says in JFA that Edgeworth never set foot in the courtroom again after 1-4), but it's canon because Ema
Michael Lewis
it is.
characters from it are important in Apollo justice
Thomas Cooper
How exactly does one put it on a 3ds?
Zachary Sanders
It's a great case, you should play it. It's very long though, like the other user said.

AA3's plot was corney as shit. Was this a game series about lawyers or a shunon anime? 3-1 has an interesting premise but is boring as shit to go through, same with 3-4. 3-3 is only mediocre and I've already explained why 2-1 is solid for a tutorial
Easton Gomez
I’m gonna have to press this statement and ask what exactly you meant by gloves
Caleb Robinson
1-5's fucking shit as long as fuck.
Grayson Campbell
install the jap cia, then use cfw to launch the patch payload. then you just play the game. the english translation acts as DLC. your 3DS is hacked...right?
Jose Parker
Is it bad I heard HOLD IT before reading this post?
Evan Sanders
What did Capcom mean by this?
Sebastian Wood
It's just so fucking long.
John Robinson
No objections
Jordan Brooks
I finally pirated the great ace attorney and I have to say it's by far one of the best in the series. I hope AA7 is more like DGS instead of SoJ.
John Powell
The point of having Phoenix getting amnesia was explicitly to showcase JFA's more complex take on the role of lawyers. There are literal lines that Phoenix says about being a lawyer that support this.
And you definitely need to replay 2-2 again because it knocks 3-2 out of the park.

Also, 3-1 is a way better intro case than 2-1. It manages to set up the overall plot, let us play as Mia, and function as a tutorial. 3-4 is great, there's no investigation and doesn't overstay its welcome.
>Was this a game series about lawyers or a shunon anime?
Both.
Zachary Scott
It's the only three day court case in the entire series. It's long and enjoyable.

2 ways.
first is expensive(approx $100) but simple.
Buy sky3ds+ and import games onto there.
2nd way means you need braincells and unfortunately I didn't have those at the time so I did it the first way.
You're going to have to look into it yourself, but I think it revolves around sim cards, using cubic ninja to get homebrew launcher, then throwing all your games onto the sim cards.
2nd method is much more conveinent overall as all your games will be on the 3ds at once. Also bypasses any region lock.Though the first method also has a way to bypass region lock if you install cubic ninja and install homebrew launcher that way as well.
Robert Perez
1-4 is three days
David Ramirez
Having only played the games on DS & 3DS it's where I find my highest comfy levels.
Noah Nelson
The banana gloves shit worked perfectly and was funny you're just mad that you didn't get it quickly.
Also 3-1 though good for the plot, was tremendously unsatisfying to go through and boring throughout.
Isaiah Ross
>there are "people" ITT who think 2-1 is a good case when it has this shit
Hunter Brooks
Ryder Long
Yeah the plot is crazy as fuck.
This is the same game series where Maya is accused of channeling a dead woman (who is actually alive and posing as her sister) to murder a man for revenge for her death.
Andrew Robinson
1-3 is three days
Samuel Barnes

Lucas Foster

Owen Scott
Okay I don't actually think T&T is shit, it's just not better than JFA
Julian Edwards
Pretty much anytime gumshoe showed up the first thing I would do is show him my badge
Brody Reyes
What exactly was the problem with it?
Andrew Sanchez
I disagree. I thought 3-1 was such a creative way to come up with an introductory case and all of the dialogue is great. Also introduces us to Dahlia, one of the most memorable characters in the series.
When I first played 3-1, I literally had a grin on my face the entire time.
2-1 is okay too, though. I think 3-1 is just better though.
Elijah Nelson
>Makes me sad we had to wait until a fan-translation to see it.
I haven't started up GAA yet, but that's exactly how I feel towards Investigations 2. I found it to be a really great romp up until the final case when I had to move my save to my PC to finish because my DS Lite's mic is broken.
Lucas Ortiz
Ace Attorney is always ahead of the curve, just look at Grossberg talking about the Harlem Shake during a case set in 2013
Jordan Howard
3-1 lacks the feeling of satisfaction that 1-1 or 2-1 gives off, because instead of destoring someone who is obviously guilty, you are dealing with a long protracted case that gives more a feeling of blue balls rather than any excitement. Was good in terms of being a regular case though, just not a great hook or tutorial.
Thomas Phillips
I think it’s because by the time the third game came around they knew that more than likely the people buying and playing the game were returning players instead of people who had never played an AA game before
Jose Mitchell
The mastermind was a fucking faggot
Jason Cook
I'll agree there. The case leaves a lot of questions that aren't answered until much later in the game. To be honest though, I also like that about it too.
Colton Bailey
true.
Liam Carter
It was the set-up for the over-arching story, and it was the first time they'd tried that.
I feel like, if you're going to start setting stuff up in the first case that won't pay off until the 5th, you have to be comfortable with your audience, and the third game in a series is the only time you can really do that. First case doesn't have to be amazing on its own, because everyone already knows what Phoenix Wright is about and how to play it.
Henry Lopez
It was okay but the last case felt pretty weak compared to the other games.
Lucas Jenkins
Fuck, I'm on the one set seven years ago in the courtroom at the moment. This game seems decent so far.
I played AAI2 first last week and loved it
Brandon Allen
This for me too desu.
Jackson Long
Dahlia is found guilty in 3-1 though, you don't know she'd play a larger role until 3-4.
Luis Turner
it's like 4-1, except there was an actual satisfying conclusion
Cooper Foster
We'll get a Switch Duology, right?
Aaron Rodriguez
still 3-1 is more open ended than the first two tutorial cases. It gets you more intrigued in the plot but it also doesn't make for a great starting off point in the series.
Aaron Price
I wish man. I don’t really wanna play the 2nd game on my laptop. I’m not a pc gamer

Yes pretty much everyone felt this way when they first played the game. Keep through it though, I think the payoff wrt 1st and last case is great. Really, the last case is just aces even if it has some dumb Jurist system shit

Don't worry. They roll him back in later games so you can forgot master planner of using fake evidence Phoenix ever existed.
