I heard the first two seasons of TNG are pretty rough, are there any episodes I should skip?

Everyone remember when STO came out and it created major butthurt because the game was hyped as some complicated style of game, but then turned out to be a simpleton MMO?

Heh. How delightful.

COMPUTER, END PROGRAM

Attached: hollowpursuits021.jpg (694x530, 91K)

All of them.

STO was in dev hell for a decade and sold off to cryptic to cover the original creators going bankrupt.

No one with a brain expected anything more than city of heros trek, which is exactly what they got.

I LIKE SCIENCE

Don't skip anything, that's for plebs

I just want a valkyrie chronicles 2 type star trek game where I join star fleet to train on going on away missions, preferably not to die, and seduce alien women.

That's all I want.

If Riker doesn't have a beard then skip it

>valkyrie chronicles 2

Attached: yuck.png (1600x1068, 1.56M)

Don't skip. They're definitely not the best part of the series but they're entertaining enough to watch and they set a foundation for the characters and relationships. Also, part of why people dislike it so much is that there's a few "politically incorrect" episodes so if that doesn't bother you then you'll be fine.

Since CBS are faggots, shitting out one woke fucked up series after another, I'm sure we can expect to never see a good star trek game again. I've been learning code for a while. If I were to make a simple game that gives a star trek feel, what would best for gameplay?

skip any episode focusing on wesley

do NOT watch code of honor

What?
It was a good high school setting to get to know your platoon. Those mechanics would work well for a space cadet working through the ranks of star fleet.

Computer.

Re-create a 20th century Earth based American restaurant by the name of Golden Coral. Occupy the restaurant with diners so that it looks like an average Friday night for the time. Also, I want a copy of one Diana Troi, as my server for the evening. Not an exact copy mind you. Add say.....30 lbs out extra mass to her buttocks, thighs and breasts. Engage door locks, authorization code "Riker-28740 GAMMA", and disable comms. I am not to be disturbed.

Oh, and Computer.....set fried chicken and gravy to unlimited, and disengage all safety protocols.

Ferengi economic sim

Star trek is all about wits and character moments

Something like a cross between xcom and character interactions would be tailor fit for star trek.

>mfw no one picked science in STO
i can understand not picking engineer but science was hella fun and absolutely broken to the point you could disable other players and taunt them till they unplugged their routers just to end it all.

Notable episodes from Season 1:

>Encounter at Farpoint: First episode in general. It's shit btw
>The Naked Now: Data has sex with Tasha. Also shit.
>Code of Honor: Solid contender for the absolute worst episode in TNG.
>The Last Outpost: Introduces the Ferengi as a villain and everyone IRL laughs at how silly the idea is.
>Hide and Q: More Q but sadly not good.
>Datalore: Introduces Lore. Kinda ok but also not very good.
>Conspiracy: Weird aliens infest Starfleet Command. Ok episode but has basically no consequences at all. Notable for being surprisingly gory.
>The Neutral Zone: Season finale but not very good.

You won't find much good in season 1.

Attached: rikerzoom.gif (250x250, 1.95M)

>>Code of Honor: Solid contender for the absolute worst episode in TNG.
I hear this a lot, what exactly makes it so bad?

>Don't watch Tasha's one actual episode before Skin of Evil
Not that watching it's a great time. But this is a bad idea.

Computer, create a two-to-one scaled copy of Deanna Troi, including all normal life functions and otherwise identical to a normal person. Give this copy a severe lactose intolerance, and simulate her having eaten several extra large chocolate sundaes several hours prior. Create an ordinary chair, tall enough for her to be seated on, and replace the center of the seat with a face cutout fit to one Reginald Barclay. Lock Holodeck doors and disengage safety protocols.

>>Code of Honor: Solid contender for the absolute worst episode in TNG.
Not the Season 7 stinkers?

>If I were to make a simple game that gives a star trek feel, what would best for gameplay?
Point and click adventure game with heavy focus on quality character writing. aka 25th Anniversary.

>yfw Guest Starring: John de Lancie as Q

Attached: 1540247531005.png (420x464, 159K)

It's actually not bad, it gets hated because the casting director was retarded and cast all black actors for the alien race when the writer had imagined some non-descript lizard people, so a bog standard "aliens have weird alien customs" story turned into "unga bunga blacks are all tribal savages" episode.

I just watched them all. What, like I don't have an extra 20 minutes to waste on a few bad episodes out of hundreds? Might as well just let it play for consistency in the story if nothing else.

I'd say the contenders for worst TNG are Code of Honor for basically being an episode written by /pol/, Shades of Gray for being a clip show because the writers were on strike and Outragous Okana for being a """""""comedy""""""" episode featuring an extremely shitty version of Han Solo who is still getting shilled by the characters.

Corral, not coral.

>mfw guest appearance by Q in other show

Attached: q.jpg (182x268, 11K)

It's boring, unlike something like Wesley Trips Over Flowers where everything is so retarded you can kinda laugh at it. Though I'd argue the episode with the guy in the horrible old man makeup is more boring.

You mean like Discord?

Attached: 1470453003487.jpg (228x228, 6K)

No Crusher ghost sex? No Wesley becomes a literal fucking god? That is the only episode I couldn't force myself to get through and that's saying something.

Season 7 was more tired than anything.
>Data's -wait let me check the family tree... ... Mother!
>Troi's Mom has ladyproblems
>Planet of undeveloped people discover Star Fleet personnel. It's Data this time.
>An ancient relic traps the ship. It's Picard that fixes it this time.
>Let's have the kids come back and make them all rebellious and crap.

Belay that order.
>Computer, simulate Ensign Ro

Is the Discovery-themed content on Star Treck Online the best thing in the whole Discovery series? And why are they still pushing it?

>Crusher ghost sex
This is the winner of worst episode to me.

You wouldn't believe how some of the non-leading-name cast gets around. Reg Barclay- better known to most as Murdock in the original A-team- is also Chef Mung, Harman Smith in Killer7, various voices in the Crash series including Papu Papu for several games running, Navigator Pressley in ME1, fucking Deathshead in Wolfenstein TNO, the list goes on.

You're only saying that 'cause she was hot. Kira had a rockin' body too, and didn't fucking throw everything away to die like a retard like Ro did.

I mean it's definitely the best of Janeway's victorian romance holonovels.

I'm talking about out of tng

Elite Force and Bridge Commander

Most episodes in season 2 are worth watching. It has some of the best episodes even, like Measure of a Man or Q Who. There are some stinkers tho:

>The Outrageous Okona: Extremely unfunny comedy episode
>The Royale: The characters get trapped in some bad novel story. Just watch the clip on youtube with Data playing in a Casino. It's the only good part.
>Shades of Gray: Riker is dying and in sickbay! Now he is reliving his memories while on a bed in sickbay aka it's a clipshow they hastily put together because of a writer strike.

Scumbag Ferengi

>Not disengaging safety protocols

I love that so much of the main cast and Q were voices in XCOM2 WotC

It's fun watching the actors get a feel for the characters they are playing and slowly settle into the roles we all know and love.

>The Outrageous Okona
The data subplot was awful, anything with Guinan is. But I thought the main plot with the escaped rogue was interesting at least

Don't forget The Neutral Zone, which is basically just shitting on 21st century people constantly while reminding us how amazing and perfect and civilized the 24th is

Well that's fair but I'm sticking by my jeer unless you're personally Jeri Taylor if and can convince me there's any set or scene more similar to that episode than all of those "Victorian romance" scenes.

*Elite Force 2

Attached: red shirt thot blocker.jpg (1280x1024, 233K)

I'm reminded that I miss anthology shows.

Worst episode is "any episode featuring (and especially those focusing on) Worf's kid"

I used to think Vulcans were Space Elves before these fuckers.

computer, load program "bing bing wahoo beta gamma dash 3"

disengage safety protocols

They were from the 20th century fag boi. That's also a great episode. They didn't make fun of them, just showed whats different. Their reactions to everything was interesting.
Just wish the druggie songwriter had more screen time

But sometimes Worf's Kid episodes include Worf's Wife with Rockin' Titties or Worf's Rival Sister-Pair with Rockin' Titties.

Star Trek Online is probably going to shutter once Lootbox Laws go into effect.

watch them only to laugh at the worst character in the series getting killed off

then later be annoyed when she shows up again because of time travel bullshit

Wow user, that's a fucking respectable opinion you have there.
Out of curiosity, has anyone here watched the animated series? Wondering if it's worth a download.

O'brian had hard life

The worst part is that either of the two plots could have worked on their own and screwed up both.

if it's so great why did it only last one series?

I don't play VNs but I think a star trek one would be fun

I just started TNG after getting through about half of TOS. AMA.

Attached: picardtoast.jpg (480x360, 13K)

>worst character in the series
i think you mean wesley

shows shouldn't need more than one

Weren't the early 90s point and click ones good?
I also really liked the ps2 one.

FINISH TOS YOU KEK
I know the tribbles episode was bad but trust me there are pure kino episodes in all seasons

TAS is... interesting. The episode that Kirk defends Lucifer is pretty great.

Do you think Seth is going to get a game for his Star Trek series?

Attached: 1548271953-orville.jpg (700x467, 56K)

Its a really hard choice to make but yar made every single episode she was in a chore to watch. you could say that about wesley too but for me yar was much more of a pain to watch

but she fucked data

Attached: Tasha_Yar,_polywater_intoxication.jpg (1080x1080, 924K)

>Tasha is pretty bad and doesn't really do all that much
>even dies in a bad episode
>returns only to die again, except this time it's one of the best episodes of the entire series
>this leads to her child getting into the plot sometimes as an antagonist, played by the same actress, except her child is a bad character who never does anything good and just makes critical mistakes

Her poor actress could not catch a break.

Don't skip, just FF the part where wesley talks.

I will never understand why I love TNG so much, because I hate half the cast. I hate Worf. Wesley. Riker. Troi. Etc. I think I just love Picard and Data.

And she gave me my bulldyke fetish.

Shattered Universe is underrated

Mk2 romulan fighter is op as hell

like I said

worst character and physically painful to watch on screen

Its pretty short, so it's not a pain to watch. I'd say worth it if you want more Trek. The animation will make you miss the live actors, its just not the same

Billy... you ever seen a grown man naked?

I watched the first two episodes and found it boring as fuck. Does it pick up at some point?

First season is basically a reskin of the ToS in terms of plots and music.
Second season is where things pick up.

Her own damn fault. She chose to leave, she wasn't fired.

It's the silliest Star Trek show which may or may not be a good thing depending on what you want. At least watch Yesteryear, which is pretty much the best episode of TAS.

>not watching the superior show

Attached: sg1-cast01.jpg (800x600, 438K)

You forgot to be more specific.
>entire backstory is RAPE GANGS
>escapes rape gangs
>dies a stupid death on the Big D
>alternate self goes back in time and dies a proper, heroic death
>but she actually didn't die and just got raped by Romulans for a decade until getting shot dead at the behest of her own half-knifeear daughter

It got a lot better since Seth was able tone down the comedy portion of the show and get more into space drama like he originally wanted.

Also season 2 had one of the best space battles I've seen.

Shut up Ron. No one wants to watch your rebound.

I need a fucking good Star Trek MMO so I can join a Section 31 RP guild.

If the guild was true to form, you wouldn't know they existed and they'd come for you.

TNG is my second favorite Star Trek despite having the second worst crew (just behind Discovery).

Geordi, Troi, Wesley and Beverly are awful.
Riker, Picard, Pulaski and Yar are okay.
Worf and Data are 10/10.

That'd be awesome though. Guild interviews would have to be set up so that the unit finds you and brings the offer to you. Maybe in the middle of an emergency.

Starfleet Command 2 EAW and OP are both great
Bridge Commander is good
the 2 old adventure games are also good

>Nu31 hand out badges like candy and tell everyone how badass amd secret they are
What's the point of being a spy if you can't tell anyone?

Pulaski was top tier. Sure she's a rehash of Bones, but she's the one who shook up the character development and is the reason Worf and Data are 10/10.

Also, she's one of the few doctors that actually tried to save a red shirt's life instead of taking pulse and declaring them dead without doing anything.
I'm looking at you Crusher.

>body swap episode
>MC is a pervert in the girl's body

Attached: 1493436639866.png (545x459, 15K)

Is that from Discovery? I haven't bothered to watch that.

7 of 9 was a shit character, but her actress did a god tier job of acting like the EMH in that one episode.

It is. It's back when Section 31 was official and more open. Autists screech because it's not DS9 even though it never claimed to be in that time period. In fact the whole point was to show the origin story of how it became DS9's Section 31.

I love the way her hair settles on her face

She turns into Cousin It.

I think it was the same in the new ST series as awkward as it is

>Star Trek Thread
>Always TNG
What went right compared to the rest?

Its either TNG or DS9.
Nothing else comes close

1. Deep Space Nine
2. The Next Generation
3. Star Trek
4. Enterprise
5. Discovery
6. Voyager
7. The Animated Adventures

She looks like a gremlin. Butterface personified.

I would agree with this. I finished DS9 last week and then watched season 1 of Voyager. It's so bland compared to DS9. I have no desire to continue it. DS9 is peak Trek. Even though I haven't seen Enterprise or Discovery, I don't see how it could come close.

>tfw picked engineer
I wish I picked Science

I don't care for Picard. When he's not pontificating on the bridge, he tends to be dull and dry.

It's sad because Janeway is my favorite captain and the EMH is one of my favorite doctors.

Prepare your anus for the reddit brigade.

It's called acting and fucking around.
Funny story time.
During the first season, Patrick Stewart was miserable because he was a classically trained theater actor and expected everyone to be professional, and all they did was goof off. He then famously went off and declared 'We are not here to have fun!'

>Discovery
>not dead last
Oh come on son.

High quality relative to the rest of the franchise. Full seven seasons. Aired in syndication as opposed to being locked to one network, which meant highest popularity while airing and highest proliferation of reruns (TNG reruns on Spike TV in middle school is literally how I got introduced to Trek as a whole). Forms the general baseline of "this is what Trek is supposed to be" where everything else is a deviation, even TOS which was "campy 60s Trek" instead of the baseline.

He was Pressley? Didn't sound like him at all.

>*theme from V loops*
Anyone else used to cheat and btfo Borg cubes?

Attached: _resize.jpg (640x480, 76K)

I just looked it up. lmao that's awesome

>watched three episodes of the first season of discovery, decided it was shit and ignored it
>decided to give it another chance at season 2 because a bunch of people told me it managed to pick up
>the plot was batshit retarded from start to finish

He came around and wound up being the dread of the cast pulling off the most diabolical pranks after BOBW.

You have to give credit where credit is due. At least it tries to tell a story. Voyager has an amazing captain, doctor and premise but they did nothing of consequence of any of those thing.

He was ready to leave the show a couple of times. One of the triggers was a time where he walked onto the set only to find the local news station was using it to do the weather, and the weatherman was wearing his costume. He was pissed.
He eventually mellowed out.

The height of Discovery was Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad through to the season 1 finale.

It's good in short doses and some of its concepts were reused in TNG like the not-holodeck. Also, if you're a furry, you'll love it.

Neither does Mung or Deathshead. Troi was also Liara's veiny mommy but you already knew that because it's not like she can act.

Attached: file.png (623x47, 6K)

Star Trek Adversaries was an alright distraction. The voice lines were shoddy but nice to see and the 3d ship models were cool.
Ended up playing mostly like another Hearthstone but a Hearthstone with noobs and a small amount of relatively non-impactful cards. So fun for a bit, at least as much as any of those other card games.

Attached: adversaries.jpg (1280x747, 386K)

>everyone hates voyager

Attached: 1341180840171.jpg (572x507, 178K)

It gets pretty good the end of season 1. The only negative is that Seth's GF's character gets alot of episodes which is very transparent nepotism.

Geordi & Fem-Bones are awesome fuck off

>trolling Captain Picard
god I wish that were me

Biggest problem Voyager has is schizo writing. One episode Janeway is super kind and cares about a random planet, next episode she's cold hearted and doesn't give a shit

Maybe I'll go back and take a look some time, but season 2 left a bad taste in my mouth. The finale didn't even make any sense at all and it also felt like a cop-out that they didn't show any of the crew's time in the future, unless they're saving that adventure for season 3. Also the fact that they just outright skipped a couple signals.

Did you even watch Season 2? They can't even write a coherent story in the story focused series.

I love everything about Voyager except the actual show.

He's developed a superb sense of human. I saw him at a convention once and the way he could interact and banter was top tier. I wish Brent Spiner was there because he's notorious for crashing Stewarts panels.

Although he wanted $100 for his autograph and like 50 for a picture, fuck that.
