i've got a feeling this will last for a while
also based
you're indeed based, but i feel like it will never happen sadly
it's usually shit like this that makes miracles happen
godspeed user, godspeed
Based OP
Don't give up user.
The director at plat still is a big metal gear fan, the writer at Konami seem to still be here, and the producer of MGRR is now the new MG producer in general. (and he really love MGRR since it was the first game he produced, he even added some MGRR weapons in survive, but only those that were mass produced or not taken by Raiden.)
Not saying i don't want this to happen, but what would you even do with the story?
The ending of MGR felt resolute in wraping up any kind of major story involvment from Raiden in the MG universe.
Thoughts Anons?
Fun fact about Rising and Survive
Survive also probably took the nanomachine zombies idea of the Kojima made MGR2 (since he saw that MGRR was a success without him, he wanted to make the second one...maybe by jealousy) that was refused by the plat guys back then (he wanted nanomachines zombies in it, but the platinum director didn't wanted that.), at least the zombie idea is now done and won't be made again.
So yeah, Kojima almost killed MGR by making it a zombie spin off, Survive really was the better alternative...now that everything is clear, Kino can happen again.
Did you listened to the codec? Raiden want to become a weird mix of The Boss or Solidus.
If we play Raiden, have him hunted by everyone and let him fight a cyborg version of The Boss.
But there's also some high chance we don't play as Raiden, beside maybe in the prologue taking place during the after credit scene (i've checked, and the cyborgs in it are completely unique, not from Desperado, they look like Skull soldiers strangely.), we could play as an adult george, or even his son, asked to hunt him down. this could even mirror Raiden vs Solidus.
Or they could reused the concept of pic related.Chico would be as old as gray fox in MGS1, so still able to fight.
>story
a magical elephant killer everyone except raiden and he also revived sam
together they go on an anime adventure to kill god
i couldn't give a shit about the story, give me more slashy slashy vudya
God I hope this happens. Based and armstrongpilled.
AND IT WILL COME
LIKE A FLOOD OF RAIN
the story of MGRR unironically is more Metal Gear than MGSV.
Sam probably won't return, as based is he. his death unlocked the sword.
user, i don't care
just give me good gameplay
MGR2 should have a coop mode with coop missions with the other player playing as wolf, and also some wolf mission in single player. he really was an interesting character.
POURING DOWN ON ME
I wish Chico survived.
Kojima scrapped him for more Quiet, who was supposed to be Paz at first, both Chico and Paz were XOF agents.
Fucking Godspeed, unto glory and victory!
Welp. Time to replay.
DIIIIEEEEEEE
Just thinking about how much better The Phantom Pain could have been.
MGR2 is the new DMC5
DMC bros, give us the strength so that MGR2 can be revealed at Gamescom, the game awards or E3 next year.
Pure based
I hate to say it but
almost nothing of the game was scrapped contrary to popular saying, chapter 3 was an unused title card for disarmement, KoF was DLC from the start and canceled quite early on, battle gear was actually made but removed for "balance issues"...It's like Kojima wanted to sabotage the game for the "phantom pain feeling" as a PR stun, but since there was the news of his departure, it actually saved his ass..
I'd rather a Gray Fox game set between MG2 and MGS1
YOUR POWER SHALL BE ABSOLUTE
Gonna need source on this one user
user gray fox did almost nothing, he died, got experienced on, he got mad, killed Clark, then got to shadow moses, that's it.
and Gray fox is far less advanced, his game would be more like a solid game. and even then, a game with gray fox would be better with him in the 80s saving Naomie and encountering big boss again.
for kof, the video literally said only 30% of the CUTSCENE (so the first thing done.) was done. nothing of the gameplay was made. battle gear was in an interview i think, and i forgot where for chapter 3 but it just make sense since the title is peace.
V was in developement for 5 years anyway, he had no excuses
>but the fox engin-
fox engine started in 2008 soon after MGS4, and was already used by the canceled MGS:R, it was fully completed in 2011, and it's confirmed V already started back in 2010, it's even because of that MGS:R never happened. (but we got MGRR that was a masterpiece, so everything is good.)
I thought Fuku...Shima? Sama? left Konami?
Yeah, Kojima certainly gets away with a lot because of his overly devoted fanbase. I tend to come off as really hating him a lot, but I think it's more of me acting as a counterweight.
I was talking about the rising writer, he wasn't spotted anywhere since MGSV so it seem he's still at Konami.
as for the MG writer, there's still Murata who cowrited MG from 3 to V + was supposed to be Kojima successor for 4 before the fan attack.
I was a big Kojima fan back then, like, an extreme one, but now...i really don't like him, even if i like his games.
I will buy Deah Stranding,, but honestly i'm not expecting something as big as MG. Most of his team didn't even followed him...At least he still have Shinkawa.
Then again, technically, Shinkawa could return for MG, he was never a konami employes and always freelance.
And even then Konami actually have no problems getting old employees back as long they weren't fired and just left by themselves, they got in 2017 the main programmer of MGS1-2-3 back (he left during 4 to go to bandai, working on ace combat.), I wonder what is he doing since he wasn't in any game since his recruitement.
MGS1 remake is actually more likely than a lot of people think, with MGR2.
Don't forget Fukushima, really seems like the writing down a dive when he left after MGS3.
Phantom pain felt like an amalgamation of ideas that that were loose and not properly cemented into something solid, the only things that realy felt solid was the prologue and ""the Shining lights even in death segment, hope i didn't fuck up the spoiler ""
mgs3 was Koji + Fuku + Murata, it really was the dream team.
Murata is still at Konami...But Fukushima's departure is VERY weird, he was supposed to be on MGS4 (first by being with Murata, then assisting Kojima with Murata like MGS3) but just dissapeared in 2006, no news about his departure, nothing, only that after that, he only did some QA testing on niche vita games.
Maybe he had a big problem with Kojima. for real, Kojima situation at Konami was weird, we very likely don't know an huge part of why he was fired.
based. fuck i want this so bad
do I have to play rising after 4?
Ive never played any mgs
I sure hope we get something really good from Konami like a proper remake of one of the Metal Gear classics or a remake of an earlier Metal Gear Solid. It would be great to see them have a strong comeback and prove to people that the Metal Gear franchise can live on post-Kojima.
Totally agree with you on Kojima, perhaps not too extreme but certainly a big fan. However I was really turned away by him being given constant free passes by his own personal cultist fanbase. That and he really comes off as having a rather large ego, which has always been a big turn off for me.
Just play Rising
It's better, since it's taking place directly after 4 and still have a lot of links.
Highly based
based
Never really played any MGS, and I know that this one's a spinoff, but do I have to be a fan to enjoy this game?
It's still annoy me a lot of people actually think Kojima made ZoE (the zoe1 director is still at Konami, and it seem the same for Murata, kojima only produced rising, he didn't directed it.) or MGRR (he wasn't even the producer of MGRR, it was already Korekado.)
and even then, Kojima did a lot of douche moves that just got ignored by most people because of his "god of video games" statue.
Konami are far from good, (even if they actually did some alright things lately;) but Kojima is far from innocent.
Say no more friend
It's better to know the serie, but Rising story also can be enjoyed without knowing too much.
Both of those things and I'd also throw in Ground Zeroes for what it's worth. Getting past the fact that it was really only one proper mission, it was still an excellent setup for the main story and the Fox Engine in general. Furthermore even the Side Ops we got in Ground Zeroes were better than that which were in the main game. Quite frankly when it comes to chapter 2 of TPP some of the main missions were really just glorified side missions.
Also just the character of Skull Face in Ground Zeroes was awesome, someone that was a genuinely messed up individual being granted all this power and a personal connection to Big Boss. Really chilling and intimidating. Then TPP comes around and he's just a buffoon.
RULES OF NATURE
Game awards seem more likely since MGRR was announced at the VGA2011 back then.
even if Kojima will be there, Geoff won't boycott Konami like that, and after all, Kojima did jackshit for MGRR.
nope
it's best treated as its own thing entirely
Honestly there's a small dark part of me that wants to see Death Stranding under perform. Not flat out fail, but disappoint a lot of people. I think it comes from the fact that I want to see an end to the deification of the man and I want to see people snap out of their Kojima induced trances.
GZ is a better MG than TPP, and it doesn't have any boss, ironic.
Then again, V had shit boss that barely felt like MG boss. Say what you want about Survive, but at least it had proper bosses and some old MG features back like the codec (even if it was only in cutscenes.)
and fuck, survive is a fucking minor spin off, how the hell does it have some classic mg features not in a main game?!
TPP literally don't feel like a metal gear game, as not a metal gear, it sure was good, but as a metal gear? no.
What character would make the most sense for a boss fight in GZ?
Sadly, even if it's bad, DS will be considered very good just for the "Kojima name" on it. everything with that is instantly good.
Let's pick metal gear survive for a funny example, personaly i think it was alright, but nothing big since it was an acid tier spin off, however, i think the hate it got was far from deserved.
we all damn knows that if the game was made between GZ and TPP, and had "exclusive producer : hideo kojima" in the credits, it would have been far less hated, similary to the MGA games (that also weren't done by Kojima.)or MGRR (even if it's a bigger spin off...and that a lot of people actually think it was done by Kojima.)
Yeah, Quiets boss battle was a worse version of the boss fight with The End from MGS3. That fight with Eli was pathetic, if you even want to call that a fight.
The Man on Fire didn't even really get one, which is a damn shame when you find out who he really is. Sahelanthropus was really the only one that did anything for me and I chalk that up more to the epic scale of it in my head than what was actually being played out on my screen.
It's not a proper Boss fight but the mission Shining Lights Even In Death felt like more of one. Granted a subversion, but still something.
Skull face?
or i don't know, a special xof agent? maybe a younger Quiet if the modelers were lazy?
A BRAAAAAVE
NEW WORLD RISES
He's not dead though, his name was seen in a 2014 or 2016 game, can't remember which.
Don't have a good source but the guy talks about it in this video
youtube.com
Shining felt better since it was linear again, like the old MG games. open world ruined V. (with other things.)
the next MGS shoudn't be open world, it should be a lot of zones like ground zeroes, linked to each other like the zones in MGS1-2-3. or if it's a mission based structure, just a lot of zones like GZ. (something more similar to PW but on a bigger scale.)
Nah, MGR saves Raiden's character from 4.
>beat this on hard no problem
>use the konami code and start revengeance mode
>get killed from enemies off screen everytime
>go back to very hard instead
Yeah, he was spotted in 2014 and 2016, but he was only a QA tester.
in parallel, he was the cowriter of MGS1-2 and 3, how the fuck do you retrograde from cowriter to QA tester? something strange must have happened.
What happens next???
revengeance give you the OP parries at least, Very hard doesn't have that.
MGRR raiden is the best version of Raiden, it take all the good of MGS2 and MGS4 Raiden.
he still have the cringy rippers moment, but it's some cringe kino.
I FINALLY FOUND WHAT
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII WAS LOOOOOOKING FOR
>how the fuck do you retrograde from cowriter to QA tester? something strange must have happened
It's called being demolished by the ego of your boss.
I support any good action game
Guess you could say "Fukushima"'s career... blew up
in a bad way
MGR is literally the most overrated game i have ever played, 5/10 at best.
>cringe kino
it's kino, user. he finally accepts what he is and its beautiful
the voice is a bit too much though, considering he goes to relatively normal after that
yeah the OP parries are nice, but its frustrating getting murked because enemies are relentless and its hard to keep track of them all the time.
Sam will never return, even for a sequel.
he was too kino for his own good, probably the most powerful MG character since he was still human.
Really make Big Boss seem like a different person, because a nobody like Sam is stronger than him, it's just Sam was a brazillian guy and so wasn't in any conflict beside crime shit.
Again I agree with you. I'm hoping it fails or at least some people break of from the Kojima cult but I doubt it.
Metal Gear Survive was pretty decent for me too, it wan't something I took too seriously and I found that from that I quite enjoyed it. Unfortunately it was absolutely dead on arrival. Killed by the gaming community as a whole in general, but really hit hard by popular fans of Kojima who had a personal distaste for Konami and a emotional investment in seeing it fail.
Most specifically for me was YongYea, was quite the fan of his following the build up to MGSV. But he started to lose me when he came down hard on the Kojima team. What really did it was his video on the MGS3 Pachinko machine, his rant just seemed so unnecessary and vitriolic. Same thing with Survive. Then he went on to do loot box this and loot box that, which he was very succesful for and good for him as far as I'm concerned. But I do know that a sizeable chunk of the MGS community was pretty pissed at him.
How have I not seen this?
Well time to set aside 3 hours!
Show me a good time, user!
It's probably the moment of madness that fucked up his voice. Raiden is on a dark path after his fight against Armstrong, he probably will die or be the antagonist of MGR2, maybe even both.
For me, Very hard is the true hard mode, Revengeance is a bonus one.
How on earth did you draw that conclusion? It ends with him setting out to fight his own war for his own ideals, there's an obvious follow-up to be had.
I nearly got every single achievement for that game expert for the VR challenges. The first and only time I have rage quit part of a game.
Are VR missions thta bad?
I wish Raidens PTSD was addressed more. Its a big part of who he is and the actions he takes but it never gets mentioned, or is only mentioned off hand to give him an excuse to go killing. The shit Raiden has seen and done should leave him a complete wreck and shell of a man, pun intended.
>I hope this game is bad because of my obsession with retarded e-drama
Turn off your computer/phone dude, or at least stop browsing Yea Forums
fuck wrong thread
>Yea Forums vs zoomer fight
do you even hear what you are saying?
what happened?
Is Survive really grindy?
getting gold medals can be tricky, it's probably the hardest thing in the game outside of Sam's DLC
Goddamn Raiden is fucking hot. I'll enjoy seeing this every day user.
I don't think they are really as bad as I think them to be, if you get a guide they would probably be alright.
The dlc VR missions were really the killers. Very much based on getting lucky with what attacks an enemy would do. Also the fact that if you want the achievements you have to get a gold for all of them, which means beating them with a certain time.
youtube.com
MY EARS ARE RINGING
Survive was dead on arrival, announcing it after the pachinko (i actuallly wasn't really angry about that, because pachinko aren't done by the video game guys...Pachinko are dead now anyways.) was a suicide move.
at least they got a game to hate, because now, fans want a new game more than before. (a true MGS, or MGR2;)
Yong became a joke in the community, something quite funny is that he admitted he liked Survive when he played it at E3 and the open beta, but he didn't bought the game just because "kojima woudn't have wanted this".
he also said some false things about the game that was considered true by the mass, like the "second save microtransaction" that is actually more similar to a second FOB and NOT a new save or the "you have to pay for the alternate ending if you miss it" that was actually fixed shortly after the release of the game with the adding of chapter replay. he then said he hated the game, not because of the gameplay
but only because of "the drama".
as for DS, i still hope the game will be good, because in the end, good video games is just what i want. but i don't think i will enjoy it like the other kojima games based on the trailer.
twitch / thefinalrumble
>very hard is the true mode
yeah I just beat the Ray fight and the 2nd phase took me a couple tries. I like the challenge here. Hard mode was relatively easy and Armstrong fight was the only where I died a lot cuz of the blade mode rock cuttings and the QTEs.
Point taken.
I hate it
I still think the Sam vs Armstrong fight is bullshit in very hard and Revengeance .
Khamsin from bladewolf DLC on the other hand was a big jobber...then again, getting beat up by basic Bladewolf probably mean you are a weakfag.
HOLY SHIT TODAY IS THE RUMBLE
>blade mode rock cuttings
i am the only guy who had no problems with that? playing with a controller.
I still wonder why MGRR got a Nvidia shield port and not a current gen port.
well technically it's playable on xbox one with retrocompatibility and PS4 with the PSnow...maybe it's because of that;
just play it on pc it can run on anything
Damn I remember Yong saying that he enjoyed it and then backtracking.
As I said it's a small part of me that wants Death Stranding to fail, I'm not buying into it that much because I think it's a shitty thing to feel/think.
I've actually avoided seeing or hearing anything related to Death Stranding because I want to experience it completely blind.
honestly I got my ass handed to me way harder by khamsin than armstrong
It was so satisfying killing Armstrong during my Revengeance mode playthrough though.
Don't hurt me like that.
i just sperg out and try to do it very fast and end up missing it. By the time I beat armstrong, i was doing it perfectly. Some of the Qte's were annoying but the final metal gear fight leading into the armstrong fight is one of the best boss ever
How the fuck did you achieved that user.
If we are lucky, maybe his moveset will be conserved with Raiden when using his sword, or maybe George will have it since he's partially a cyborg like him. (but not much.)
He probably would have more lore with Bladewolf if the codec return. the codec in rising actually was very good, i loved Boris, Doktor and Wolf. (Courtney was a little lackluster, and kev had some funny conversations but nothing very interesting.)
Isn't that, like, against the rules?
pure blade mode hell is trying to destroy all of the helicopters/APCs Monsoon throws at you on revengeance, took me forever to realize you should jump before slashing so that they can't immediately blow up upon touching the ground to give yourself more time to destroy them
It won't happen sadly, it'll happen happily!
op here.
It's kino, so the rules don't exist.
it's also a comfy MGR thread.
Please enjoy it, and give us the hype power.
I had Armstrong's moveset down pat thanks to my s rank rev run and Sam's dodge is godly so dodging him is easy.
In comparison I had no idea what to expect from Khamsin and wolf controls like a fucking tank.
>non-stop spamming this move
Made me wanna kill myself.
With Khamsim first time I beat him with little trouble. Second time, after not playing in a while, I was stuck for hours. Those two attacks with the same animation but different timings fucked me up over and over.
DIE YOU PIECE OF SHIT!
Making the mother of all omelettes here, Jack. Can't fret over every egg.

Kill me, Pete.

UNTIL THE END IS HERE
what difficulty do I play for the game to pose a challenge? I heard it was hard as shit so I chose normal and now I am at the airbase in pakistan or some shit and the game has been piss easy.
Also I am getting a feeling that the game's about to end, but I have literally been playing for 4-5 hours, but I think there's a bunch more levels left.
Which rules? Surely you don't mean the rules of...
whats this game bro
Risk of rain2
Yea Forums bros this game is 5 euros/dollars on steam right now. All of platinum's games are 5 on steam till july 9th. Go get them, They're all amaze.
what other PG games should i play bro
MEMORIES BROKEN
THE TRUTH GOES UNSPOKEN
It's never coming user...
I'VE EVEN FORGOTTEN MY NAAAAAAAME
people all says that, but why would it never come?
director is ok, producer is ok, writer is ok, and Konami actually seem to be moving again.
I DON'T KNOW THE SEASON OR WHAT IS THE REASON
Because MGS1 remake is next user, if there's a MGR2, it's for 2021 at best.
Playing this for the first time, any advice? Normal or hard?
Vanquish and Bayonetta bro. Do it. The pc versions look great and play with unlocked framerates.
hard
tfw my pc is a potato. Ill still get them because I plan to build another one. Mgs:r runs okay at 1080p tho
kinda funny since Armstrong literally is the contrary of trump in his ideology.
I really like how raiden looks in his civilian clothes.
>I heard it was hard as shit
The only people who ever said this are the retards who bumblefucked their way through the game never learning what Defensive-Offensive is and/or taking the poorly translated tutorial at face value and using parries wrong the entire time.
Based
I swear to FUCK they'd better have bosses as good as Desperado, but with even more buildup.
They should have Raiden become a big boss like figure, a living legend who is attempting to destroy the Patriots memes and truly liberate humanity. However in the process he becomes more and more bloodthirsty and starts to look less and less human
THE WAR STILL RAGES WITHIN!
