How is BELOW?
I watched the trailer but i'm not sure.
This was my buy list. Trying to beat them one by one and not crossplay.
Immortal Redneck is great.
I recommend Slay the Spire, and The Binding of Isaac.
Nuclear Throne pretty good
Crypt of the Necrodancer the best
Isaac is absolute dogshit with tons of rng
Gungeon is tedious as hell but still something you gotta try
If you somehow don't have One Way Heroics yet, go get it.
Seriously, how do you not have One Way Heroics yet?
Anyone got some local 4 player roguelites?
What's the deal with Spelunky? I keep seeing it, but the game looks like a webgame from the screenshots.
Isaac
ETG
Dead Cells
are top3
>Gungeon is tedious as hell
I thought it was just me.
Legitimately bad
Tedious how?
hackmund just release the fucking dlc for this shitty game, ab+ is so fucking trash
Got Immortal Redneck, Monolith, and Heart & Slash, of these I feel Monolith's the best, light on content but what little content there is feels like it's been chosen perfectly and nothing feels purposeless. As a whole the game feels like an upgraded NES game in tone and aesthetic. Make sure to turn off interpolation if you get it, no clue why it's on by default.
Heart and Slash is cute and fun though it's pretty brainless, fun though, especially with it's good variety of weapons and armors. I'd recommend it since it's only about 2.50 during the sale.
Immortal Redneck is very nice, I wish it had more advanced movement options since there's no B-hopping or rocket jumping, doesn't stop it from being fun though, it has an upgrade system like Rogue Legacy's but it feels nowhere near as grindy as RL did, since the upgrades cost less and are more effective, looks much nicer too. Main complaint I have is how enemies don't have clear enough death animations, specifically the frogs and snakes, who I'll sometimes keep shooting at more than I need to since they still look alive. Great game either way, been loving it.
It's fun and was one of the first popular roguelites, the steam version is the Remaster that uses drawn images instead of spritework, I'd recommend trying the original out, it's available on the game's site last I checked and I personally think the sprite graphics look much nicer than the rerelease's.
IIRC Spelunky and Risk of Rain have that, though I'm not sure if RoR supports more than 2 players locally.
I waited 5 years and was disappointed with it, style over substance, and style isn't even good. Better play Unexplored for dungeon crawls and Rain World for lonely mysterious exploration.
Play Monolith you faggotrons. It's better than Enter the Snoozefest, I can guarantee that much at least.
>le ancient era scroll shooter with literal bullet hell
Yikes. Fuck off granny.
>Actually invested entire years into all of those games
600 hours in isaac and 400 in etg
I've got so many hours in the web browser isaac from high school and about 300 in gungeon. love it.
Play Monolith
Sweet gap
I love slay the spire but i'm so pissed at it's success because nearly every new roguelite coming out is card game based.
>good
Spelunky
Nuclear throne
>shit/boring
Rogue legacy
Gungeon
Boi
Moonlighter
Wizard of legend
>want to try
Dead cells
Is it a roguelite?
anything good for 5 and under?
I was thinking dark souls remastered, but a lot of anons here warned me that I shouldn't
Pixel dungeon is pretty fun
It's a procedurally generated randomizer-like
Synthetik, Dead Cells and Immortal Redneck are prob the top 3 roguelites I'd recommend. Synthetik in particular flew way under most peoples radar.
Don't buy BoI, it's not good.
Death road to canada is a fun oregon trail/beatemup zombie roguelite. Wont last as long as the other games mentioned tho
sleeping dogs
baldurs gate 1 and 2 are 5 burgers, so are most of the other dnd crpgs
Wizard of Legend is fun though? You just need to play random mode instead of abusing same OP combo.
Got Unexplored on Switch with my coins. Visuals are on the jank side, but it seems to be pretty fucking good. Need to play it a little more to rate it.
Is c:/raft worth it?
It looks interesting.
I did, but now I can't beat hard mode.
How is this? Worth getting or wait for more updates?
I hurt my self today
to see if i still bleed
Got this game from their roguelike sale section yesterday.
I do have fun playing it, as it's similar to a Serious Sam lite or something but as far as being a roguelike goes though... it just doesn't feel like one. It has a skill tree which is pretty much copied from Rogue Legacy but there's no real itemization and the modifers you get as you play don't have the same impact as stuff you normally get in roguelikes.
i want to get rain world but i have a backlog and instead of working on it i've been making a fucking minecraft modpack for the last few days
Roguelites dont have to be RPG. Sounds like you prefer the ones that are though.
Any thoughts of Mothergunship? I play Tower of Guns for maybe a half hour and it seemed decent.
RoR does. Kind of hard to keep track of everyone on one screen, but it functions.
>anime
>anime
How's Mothergunship? Strafe?
Nope. I far prefer action. Redneck though, the rogue feeling though just doesn't feel like it's there for some reason. No matter what, it just feels like I'm playing an easier version of Serious Sam with only one life.
The guns aren't creative enough, nor are the scrolls. The game also needs gear of some sort.
Fair enough. I liked it a lot but I can see what you mean. If you're fine with an isometric viewpoint, you might be interested in Synthetik. Has co-op too.
Reminder y'all should buy Nex Machina and throw roguelite shit in the trash where it belongs.
FTL is god tier.
Isaac is pretty good.
Risk of Rain is great.
Enter the Gungeon is boring.
Moonlighter is shit.
Rimworld might be great if you like these games, even though it's not a RL
You're allowed to like more than one thing. Why not get both?
It would make such a good phone game, I don't know how they didn't cash in on that shit already.
In Order
1. Nuclear Throne
2. Gungeon
3. Death Road To Canada
I think in the latest lost castle update they added 4 player support to local, not sure though.
>tfw Yea Forums says Nuclear Throne is shit, but it's also on sale and you want to try more roguelite but also not waste your time and money
I don't refund, so I do wonder.
I don't know when the latest update was, but I remember playing it with 4 player local the last time I played it.
Nuclear throne is really good. The devs are lazy niggers but homos here just hate them because of politics
Crawl is one of my favorite multiplayer games in recent memory.
Looks kind of interesting, shill it to me. How many players is it?
Any co-op games with good resurrection mechanics for bad players? Out of the ones I played Lost Castle is the only one that comes to mind, where you could just rez the downed player by touching them for a few secs.
Patrician choice Tier List
>inb4 reddit meme
Why doesn't Spike Chunsoft port the Shiren the Wanderer series to PC? It's a crime that Shiren 5 is trapped on the Vita
4 players (can include bots, which are competent)
1 person is alive, they try to gain levels, get equipment, and defeat a boss once they get to level 10.
Other 3 players are ghosts that can inhabit traps and monster portals. Whoever gets the last hit on the alive player becomes alive and they try to advance.
Lots of monsters and equipment plus randomly generated dungeon (though environment doesn't really change) keeps things fresh. And you unlock more monsters and equipment the more you play.
what's the last game in A tier?
Vagante
Devs are retards but the game is fun.
All style no substance trash tier, like OwlBoy and Iconoclast.
Stay away from it as much as you can.
RoR2 should be S tier once it’s out of (((early access)))
Fucking lol, not even close. Missing a bunch of names, terrible taste with half of what is there
Nuclear Throne is one of the best available, was pretty much all I played in 2015, Rami is just a retard but I don't let that stop me from enjoying how good the game is.
This, Synthetik is really fun
>Isaac is absolute dogshit with tons of rng
Just buy the base game and stay away from the DLCs.
That's it, RNG problem solved.
Iconoclasts is good. Not a roguelite by any stretch of imagination (nor a metroidvania) but that doesn't mean its not good. Owlboy is boring af though you got that right.
I HAVE $10 WHAT BUY
Need to add
Synthetik
Streets of Rogue
Steredenn
Space Beast Terror Fright
Sky Rogue
Hero Siege
Hive Jump
Dungeon of the Endless
Domina
Did they implement online multiplayer in Crawl yet?
Did SBTF ever go anywhere? I tried the demo a long time ago and it had the atmosphere down but the gameplay was pretty barebones.
I'm tempted to get into the breach
is it good
Maybe they got scared off from the reception MCOWH got.
I used it as example because the game put much more focus on graphics andstory that it's gamepaly, that is barebone. Even the crafting make no sense in that game and you whonder during all of it's lenght why they even put it into the game at all.
Iconoclast is just a bland 2D paltformer with no real appeal, even the story, the main focus of the game, is nothing special. It's not woth the time playing it.
Sounds fun. Might grab it while it's on sale then.
It's a puzzle game, but I like it.
even if you don't like the pacing or balancing of gungeon it objectively is not a bad game at all
Shiren's a much bigger name than One Way Heroics, though.
Its a bit too RNG heavy for me, though the patches did help a lot with that. And even without the patches, it's still noticeably better than BoI.
>dd is c teir
I just bought this wtf
Nope, I don't think it is coming to it either. Might be worth checking the steam discussions tho.
It isn't very complex but me and some friends got a few good nights of scares out of it. Personally I don't think it needs a lot of elements, just dark hallways and aliens.
No, but if you have friends that would be interested in a game like that it's very easy to set up online multiplayer up with a program called Parsec.
I'm gonna second Synthetik. One of my most played games this year
It's a good game. Each play through you have the ability to earn money for upgrades to your mechs and you can occasionally find new pilots along the way. If you complete a challenge in a level you earn points that you can use to unlock other teams. All the teams have their own unique mechanics that change how you fight monsters and the new pilots usually have their own abilities that change things in other ways. I'd say it has enough content to hold your attention for a few days. It's nowhere near as engrossing as FTL imo though.
i've had my eye on this for years... if it ever fully releases, i'll be surprised
