linear games that know they're linear are indeed generally better. I feel like open world devs are getting better at making a sandbox for people to have fun in, and integrating a linear narrative for people who want to see a story unfold. when that balance is finlly achieved, it'll be golden

Nice meme. X-2 is dumb in a lot of ways, but actually gives Yuna a small character arc of figuring out who she wants to be now that she's not a Summoner. There's good sidequest content, too.

Remaster also improved environment models, textures, etc. I also personally prefer the Remastered soundtrack but at least that's optional on current gen systems.

Tidus's fucked face is unfortunate but doesn't ruin the game and the other improvements are worth it.

It would be fun to see the game with the best graphics modern SE is capable of but it will most likely never happen. I'd love to see those spell effects that burn or freeze the entire area if you use them. Loved that in FFXV.

I finished it back in 2002 - and wish I hadn't. Such a waste of time.
I liked the FF series until FFX, but this made me stop playing the series altogeher. For me, FFX was the entry that made me realize I was getting too old for this shit.

They're not even that hard, you don't really need to strategise or anything. They're just locked behind a hundred hours of grinding first. I never bothered.

dak aeons are probably the worst example of jrpg superbosses, no strategy or specific party make up matters, its either you have maxed out stats by grinding for god knows how many tens of hours or you dont and cannot succeed.
