>not a single TECHNOLOGY thread for the most detail and TECHNOLOGY focused game in history
If you knock something off a counter while picking it up Arthur catches it in air. Horse testicles shrink. 2010 Yea Forums would have lost their fucking mind over this game. What happened?

yeah thats cool and all but have you tried talking about trannies 24/7? its much more fulfilling
Rockstar doesn't fit into the culture this board wants to praise. In order to fit that criteria you need to be Japanese made game, a plus is having anime art, a switch exclusive makes it even better, or you need have PC release that feels like the true "definitive" version.
If there isnt someone jerkingoff to your thread there isnt someone keeping it alive
yeah talking about trannies is cool and all, but have you tried crying about how Tifa being a DD instead of her entire torso being 2 polygon titties is white genocide?
Well that and a good portion of the games content sucked. I havent met anyone who didnt drop the oine almost immediately, while the story and overall possibility of discovery lead to this odd form of conversation where you realized all of you escaped the story around the same time and ran into the same "random chances"
Its not really to say that it wasnt quality, more that all the game had to really offer you was more murder, the rewards you got for it was more money to murder more, and the combat scenarios didnt help the fearless ai always willing to throw their lives away

This game's like the ultimate example for "less is more" immersion. Just imagine how much of your life you've lost because you can't skip the several second long canned animations for actions as simple as looting a body or an animal.
>Just imagine how much of your life you've lost because you were playing a video game with animations
Woah, we really do live in a society.
>Well that and
Holy shit really? So basically you're admitting if you fix what he says, like making it Japanese made game, switch exclusive or unique to PC it becomes better? Holy fuck this place is trash.
>hand slips into pc
>hear the fan kick on
>fingertips brush along the motherboard, then the ram
>the fan starts spinning faster
>about to bust
>begins to moan into the USB port
>ram ejects and then the computer dies
what exactly is technologically ground breaking in RDR2?
Certainly not the console graphics where fps drops to 15 in towns.
All I can name is the shrinking horse testicles. Nothing else that I can think of off the top of my head that hasn't been shown in other games.
I play games to pass time, not to save time
You really can't think for yourself?
it didn't really innovate in any particular area, but just iterated on previously explored concepts and brought them all together in a polished package. Mainly smooth animations and character interaction with the world
no, please show me what hasn't ever been done in any other game
List a game that done things more impressive in the last idk 5 years?
That poster is just going to say "ive seen this all before in other games!!!"
Yea Forums doesn't play video games.
This is not an impressive technology game. Almost everything is scripted.
Everything in a video game is scripted you fucking cretin
>TECHNOLOGY thread
>dumbass comes in whining about graphics
Proving OP's point.
Works on my xbox one x
>one of the best stories ever told in video games
>unbelievable amount of detail
>boring combat consisting of eating food and drinking booze way too much during combat
>boring as shit collecting crafting material
>auto-aim is insane
>realize no auto-aim is ridiculous with a controller
>Red Dead Online was fucking horrid
>no PC release
Own all the current consoles but I've never been the "why no PC release?" guy until this game came out.
This was the first video game that I actually gave a shit about the entire cast.
Arthur Morgan's story was so fucking good.
when we get a game of this detail set in the modern world or future I'll never leave my house. maybe cyberpunk 2077 will do that for me. I put probably 250 hours in to red dead, only stopping because it was interrupting my life and have other games to play.
no one cares because it's a boring snooze fest you can shove it up your ass
Because some people start getting petty when certain games get acknowledged for having TECHNOLOGY. It suddenly stops being about little details, like it always was, and starts being about some other shit.
Its mostly games that are not on pc that are not allowed to have TECHNOLOGY it seems.
RDO wasn't horrid though PChads just can't cope that people are enjoying a game without their precious KBM controls
technology games need the game part too be good too
if all you have is technology its boring
Good thing it's the best gameplay in a R* game to date!
>R* game to date!
that REALY doesnt mean much, rockstart games play like ass, they aways had
hot take
that part of the sentence was sarcastic retard
not really
>WAAAAAAHHHH WHY DON U TALK BOUT DIS
so talk about you actual retard. do some talking instead of whining.
maybe next time. deuces, pussy
>Creates TECHNOLOGY thread
>Doesn't post .gifs or WEBMs of TECHNOLOGY in the game
That's the whole point of these threads.
>MGS2 has shrinking block of ice
TECHNOLOGY
>RDR2 has realtime growing facial hair that you can customize
Somehow not TECHNOLOGY anymore because reasons.
TECHNOLOGY has always been about small details, but you guys keep changing its definition to the literal meaning of "technology" when you feel like hating on the game.
I've never liked Rockstar games, they've always controlled like shit and their open worlds are boring as hell, they're fucking mundane cities and towns not some fucking fantasy world where you don't know what you are going to find around the next bend, you know exactly what is going to be there before you go there so exploration which is the key concept in a open world game fails on that regard.
Their games play like shit and their worlds are boring.
I'm not surprised they are so popular despite that, casuals love the familiar and safe, put in some high presentation values and MUH FEELS and they will proclaim something GOAT without ever considering gameplay.
>not some fucking fantasy world
Fucking nerd
>Their games play like shit
If this game with it's immersive world was a Japanese games with anime aesthetics it would be held on here as the second coming of Christ
le water is bretty good
>Yea Forums used to have daily TECHNOLOGY threads
Thats because nothing is really impressive anymore. When hardware gets to a point that you can do really anything visually then nothing is really impressive. Nothing in RDR2 was that particularly impressive either.
I care far more about style then technical anymore.
Are you 12?
>Retard with shit taste also doesn't know what TECHNOLOGY is and owns a shitty console
Shocking
kinda shit compared to resident evil 7
that water was the first time i got impressed with graphics since i jumped fromp ps1 to ps2 with that onimusha 3 opening
Definitely was not horrid but could of been a fantastic example of video games done right.
are you mad?
RE7 isn't an open world game
Do you seriously not understand the difference between a blatantly scripted interaction and one that is more emergent?
Fuck are you talking about? Plenty of Western games were in TECHNOLOGY threads, like Splinter Cell and Soldier of Fortune.
I honestly do not understand how RDR2 has technology. Details and technology are not the same thing. Nobody in this thread has really given good examples.
and its better
realy makes you think
thats the best facial hair i've ever seen on a john
The real answer is that Yea Forums is full of kids and redditniggers who would rather suck Nintendo's dick, make 16 different smash roster or e-celeb threads, falsefag shitpost in actual discussion threads, kill OC threads while posting pepe/wojak edit cancer, then talk about trannies, /pol/shit, and Twitter screencaps rather than discuss anything substantial
I happen to like both :)
Late post, but you are not funny my dude.
i was talking about the water
maybe NOT being open world is better for technology
cool
t. One Angry Incel
Is the online still dead? I wonder how Strauss Zelnick will react in a share holder meeting since he called GTA:O overly generous.
Maybe this is more of a personal thing, but somehow, RDR2 felt like one of the most lifeless and staged worlds I have ever played. It was kind of creepy, like I was walking through a play, or something, and things happened for me just because I was walking by. Something about it just doesn't feel like a real world to me that some other games do.
Pretty graphics is not TECHNOLOGY, sperg.
Explain it
Funny you say that because the movement, on a functional level, was horrible.
The word you're looking for isn't "polished", it's "cinematic" and it's not good.
>thats the best facial hair i've ever seen on a john
Hard to believe given you service a new John every night :^)
This
Realistic animations don't make for responsive, tight controls, GTA offended a little in this area too
>rdr2
>polished
I don't understand why so many people say this, the game actually feels very sloppy
I have a feeling that in a few years Yea Forums will praise the hell out of this game. RDR2 is one of the most polished and complete games (singleplayer) to come out in recent years. Very few games can rival its excellent storytelling, beautiful and detailed open world. Sure, the game has genuine flaws but general opinion on this game certainly shouldn't be negative. Yea Forums likes games like Dragons Dogma and Fallout NV both of which do some things exceptionally well but in other aspects are very shitty. RDR2 does arguably a lot more things exceptionally well but I guess people here can't appreciate it.
Its because nu-Sonyfags dont appreciate technology. Sonyfags today en masse are the kids that played the Wii, any old sony voices have been drowned out by teenagers.
Its pcfags and nintenfags mostly anyway that make technology threads, that kind of thing died down for Sony after the PS2.
there is SO MUCH more about this water than just graphics user
that's cool and all but is the game good and fun
i literally, honestly and truly could not give any less of a fuck about horse testicles in my video games
fuck rockstar and fuc kyou
Emergent gameplay is possible when there's a complex system that the player can interact with, for example the world AI in call of pripyat, or the various civilizations in dwarf fortress.
If everything that happens is just because you stepped foot on a marker that starts a mission, then that's scripted gameplay.
By the way, stop playing triple A garbage exclusively while acting like you're hot shit.
this ""game"" was worse than any movie-game I've ever played
fuck rockstart for ruining RDR
It is. Its actually a pretty good casual filter, you need to dedicate and immerse yourself in it. Its not like GTA lolrandom wacky, its more of a unique experience even compared to the first game.
thats a yikes from me babe
please stop posting now sweetheart.
There is nothing immersive about a game playing itself. You have no taste and inherently hate the medium.
okay but you were talking about TECHNOLOGY in general in that post, stop moving the goalposts
you walk forward and engage in shootouts after hearing a convo for 3 minutes
please stop
rdr2 was the most boring game i've played in over 10 years and this generation was a waste of time and money
When it comes out on PC and then releases on Switch 2 in 7 years all the shitposting will mysteriously go away.
if you ever post in this format on this website again i will snap your 'o'ring with my veiny mud-covered monster cock
>why is there so much shooting in my shooting game!!!
durrr.
Because you won't have to pay to watch the movie anymore.
WAIT FOR PC FAGGOT
>you need to dedicate and immerse yourself in it.
Immersion isn't something you actively decide to take part in, holy shit
I don't find RDR to be very immersive becuase I'm reminded I'm playing a game every time I have to sit through a lengthy animation I don't want to watch a hundredth time, some canned, scripted sequence or when the game just takes control away from me for some other reason.
So you're saying this board is full of basedfilled bitches.
>Immersion isn't something you actively decide to take part in, holy shit
uh it's called suspension of disbelief, holy shit.
I like those effects, aside from his hand going under the water, it just looks like they changed the opacity and called it a day -- just doesn't look right.
Graphics are a part of technology whether you want to admit it or not.
The story and ultimately the entire world are presented in such a revisionist leftist whitewashed way that you can't even take the game seriously. Fuck you. An entire gang of outlaws who are afraid of calling someone a nigger, including the big evil racist of the bunch, the wailing about the mistreatment of Indians from men who slaughter people to get to their pockets. It's just pathetic. I would agree with you though that the actual technology behind the game is impressive and looks great, especially the gore.
I started replaying my 2nd save again. My arthur was a full evil in CH2 collecting shit and goin a murderin. After a few months and coming back to it, i feel bad. I just wanna be nice to people and go fishing. I think I'm gonna start a new game, see how far I can get without fucking up and being a goodboy. And occasionally go full face mask and rob someone on the road.
And you don't CHOOSE to have it happen, it either happens on its own or it doesn't
no, TECHNOLOGY refers to more emergent things
>IMAGINARY IDENTITY POLITICS REEEEEEEEEEE
Seethe/cope/dilate/have sex
what are you talking about? Yes you do.
Literally this. Yea Forums died when the newfag invasion of /pol/ happened.
Being able to see through Nathan Drake's ears is TECHNOLOGY
Ray Tracing is TECHNOLOGY
Guess what those two have in common.
no
not anymore pcfags have become annoying when it comes to tech threads
RDR2 was a garbage VIDEO GAME.
It was great at being a fake movie though.
Oh boy, can't wait to have a required internet connection to stream RDR2 to my switch 2.
> 1800s
> racist outlaw is afraid to call the guy he's intentionally abusing a nigger
> durrrr you're just imagining things because you're on /pol/ all day!!!
The videogame wasnt created for /pol/tard stormfronters roleplaying as old women from the 1800s, it was made for a mass market.
And if you want to cry about MUH HISTORICAL ACCURACY, well maybe you shouldnt be playing videogames cause there isnt one that yet exists that is historically accurate to any relevant degree outside of some text.
2010 Yea Forums would have hated it as well.
Gameplay >>>> Graphics
Or maybe Rockstar doesn't want to sell a game that uses the word "nigger" over and over again
Its a video game, not a vehicle for your fucking stormfront power fantasy. Go bitch and moan about trannies elsewhere, I'm busy masturbating to them.
>RDR2 is one of the most polished and complete games (singleplayer) to come out in recent years.
I could not disagree more. Despite having a lot of content, RDR2 is very unpolished and reeks of cut content all over the place. For one thing, did you notice how the missions in chapter 1 offered different ways to proceed? How you could make a choice of which way to shoot from or how to approach, etc? This feature is almost entirely gone after the chapter, it pops up a few times but not again. This also applies with dialogue choices, the missions in chapter 1 have different choices but this feature again almost entirely disappears. It just feels like they spent work on making chapter 1 seem impressive with choice than abandoned it.
Not to mention, Valentine is more detailed than the others with its interiors, whereas the other towns have very few enterable interiors. The game is extremely front loaded and they loaded all the cool details up front but the rest of the game feels a lot more hollow. And there are the very poorly implemented honor and wanted systems, both which feel less polished than the first game. The cores also feel unpolished and superflous because of how easy they are to maintain, you just sleep, eating isn't even necessary. And other details, like houses with signs for sale that look like they were meant to be properties, the very barebones implementation of the railroad and timber companies that look like they were meant to be way more expansive.
Polished? Complete? Not even close.
>could not disagree more.
okay, you're wrong. Im pretty sure St. Denis and Blackwater are more detailed too
>RDR2 is one of the most polished and complete games (singleplayer) to come out in recent years
RDR2 had bugs up the ass so your standards must be extremely low or you don't play a lot of games
So i made it through to the first mission where you go to the barn and interrogate a guy, and i realized I really dont want to spare this guy. So im just gonna play my evil character and go fishing
st. denis is huge, it should not have a comparable amount of interiors to valentine. it should have way more. thats the point. in valentine its like you can enter every building but this isnt true for any other town. they obviously wanted the first town to seem really impressive.
