Why is it seemingly impossible to make a gacha game with good non-braindead gameplay?

Sorry I dont want little girls in bikinis running around swinging swords in my games, pedo. It's not like such things diminish a game with cheap thrills or anything.

Audience isn't interested in gameplay.

The sad part is that i played OPs game, which is like a year or 2 dead by now. It was literally just fire emblem but with guns instead of mages. It was fine but literally no one wants to spend the time of a whole FE mission on basicly story content, event stuff or simply farming, especially when your mobile.
Had some nice waifus too, but i guess you can only do so much with legendary weapon based units.

the only gacha games that have ever had any challenge i've played are rhythm games and even then I can 100% most songs on the highest difficulty in the first few tries

Oh hey! I remember that one. Its's one of the few Gacha games I played for any extended period of time, and may have been the absolute first one I've played.

I never spent anything on it, but I did grind a lot, and it was fun watching air units go to town on things.But alas, Social games are inherently temporary, and it was always doomed to disappear, even though its store pages can still be accessed.
