>no thermal scope
But how do you fight regenerators?

grenades?

chad 6th sense, you wouldnt understand

>red9
I used to play on easy mode too.
New playthrough and not at that part yet.

TMPlets, when will they ever learn?

He doesn't know about the knife trick....
Also if you just pump enough ammo into them, they die.

>He doesn't flip all the guns upside-down for the secret bonus damage

Attached: 51zb.jpg (604x380, 58K)

>L-Leon, they put something in my neck!
>You have to eat all the eggs.

>mine thrower
I think in the hundres of hours I've played re4 I only ever tried that one once and never got any ammo for it. What's even the point.
I like the TMP but no point in having it when I already have a pistol. When I use it I just use it instead of a pistol.

Attached: 20190628111544_1.jpg (3840x2160, 1.18M)

No...You lie..theres no way that is true.

that case must smell so awful

>2 handguns
Why?

Minethrower is only viable if it's the only weapon you have besides the pistol.
The way the game weights ammo drops means you will barely ever get any for it unless there's nothing else you'd want.

RE4 Remake fucking when

>I like the TMP but no point in having it when I already have a pistol.
I found the TMP to be a solid all-around weapon. Kneecapping mooks then suplexing them saved me enough ammo to just spray into larger enemies and bosses without too much concern about running out.

not until 2026 at the very least

Personally, I'd want the RE4make to be RE3.5 with the hook man and shit.
RE4 is already perfect, so it'd give classicfags an opportunity to get a version of the game they won't sperg out over.

Still smells better than Ashley...

What are some re4 tricks that most people probably don't know? Like if you go backwards in pic related, the enemies don't appear.

Attached: 20190627090757_1.jpg (1920x1080, 434K)

All your post made me think about is that RE4 parody series. Man, that shit's nostalgic.

No tricks, but I do know the only two doors you can open facing away from them are the door after Salazar and the zone door in the Ashley segment (Between the opening area and the armor area).

You can shoot locks off doors from the wrong side with the TMP so long as you're close enough and aren't using the stock.
It's possible to skip a few chapters doing this, but there isn't much use for it outside of speedrunning.

>It's possible to skip a few chapters doing this
Yeah, you can skip the hedge maze by shooting the door that leads to the dining room, right? I think they patched that out of the HD version, though.

But that's basically The Evil Within

The smg and sniper rifles should've been replaced by assault rifle.
>d-dat'd be overpowered!
It was in all the good resident evils like 3.

The should have made the Chicago Typewriter not a one shot kill weapon. That could have been fun.

its good for weapons to have limitations and drawbacks, an assault rifle would have almost none

its better to keep them out, or just make them weak like they were in 5

>chad
Not buying anything.

Based no merchant run chad

This is why you are not a playtester and eat paste in the corner.

When I first played RE4 I didn't buy any new weaponry, because I thought I'd be wasting all the money I already spent on upgrading my existing guns, so I just stuck with all the defaults.

That pistol is pretty good. Shame the shotgun only gets good range.

>opening the briefcase at all

Is a "no pause button" run a thing? Cause that'd be fucking awesome.
>Only use herbs/first aid sprays when you pick them up
>Only have the pistol and knife
>Keys can be used by interacting with the door
You're forced to enter the attache case after the Ashley segment, but that's pretty fucking sick, actually. I wanna try this.

>striker and not riot gun

So close

Blow their legs then knife them to death its ez

>He doesn't keep the Striker simply for Ditman
Shiggy

Attached: 1546501017003.jpg (149x157, 8K)

the Chad loadout in RE4 is picking weapons based on style and aesthetic, regardless of whether or not they're the objectively best.

For me it's the standard shotgun and hunting rifle and the red mauser. Never bothered with any revolvers because lolnoammo

The real chad loadout
>Chicago Typewriter
>PRL
>Infinite Launcher
>Handcannon
>Only healing items are eggs and fish
Prove me wrong.

I legit don't know if im the only one who knows this but right after the minecart section theres money hidden in a wall it's not much tho

The real Chad answer is red9, riot gun, auto rifle, broken butterfly, and tmp to activate switches and for boss fights, skip the mine thrower.

The second chainsaw guy in the opening village that drops a ruby. Surprise how few people know about him.

The bolt action rifle is the most Chad of all. Those animations still give me a stiffy.

Don't forget he only shows up before you enter the house, after that he's gone.
>minecart section
Speaking of. I always found it fucking weird that the entrance to that section and the exit are a few meters apart.

Lots of people know Krauser is weak to knifing, but they don't know that Saddler (in Separate Ways) is also weak to it, which is good cause that fight fucking sucks.

Is it true that Mendez is weak to flame grenades? I've been using that tactic for ages now but was never sure if it was true or I was just imagining things. Even on pro 5 flames grenades is all it takes to kill him.

The game works in a way in that "rare" ammo for special weapons only drop if you actually have the weapon, and only if you have less than a certain amount.

You probably did what most people do and hoard ammo for it and instantly go over that amount and then never use it because "the game never gives any ammo for it" creating a self fulfilling prophecy of its ammo being super scarce.

I love using the mine thrower, and trust me, if you actually use it and magnum ammo the game will give you more.
If you just let the ammo rot in your inventory, well... it's your own fault.

>Separate Ways
That mode in general sucks.

Why do I know this and can visualize it clearly even though I haven't played RE4 in like 12 years

Yeah, he's weak to fire. I think the wolves are, too. Iirc, one incendiary grenade wipes them out.

Fuck, I want to replay it now.

Should I buy the Steam release?

Yeah, that's true. I do like the bowgun, though.

Yeah. It's a pretty good release.

Is the steam version easier? I've been playing the wii version for years and i recently got the steam version and everything feels way easier maybe it's because I've played it a million times lol

>he doesn't exclusively use the mace in every single game that has them
>he plays games that don't have maces
What's your excuse? Flails are also acceptable

Attached: Flanged Mace.jpg (800x800, 38K)

If you go back up the path before the lake at night, you fight wolves and get an extra cutscene. You can kill them with the harpoons on the boat.

Another "secret" would be after you defeat the giant fish you can go back to where you came from and get a cutscene where the dogs first appear. Always found that weird. You can go to El gigante that way back but you still have to go the normal route since you don't get the medallion that opens the church. Always wondered what the point of that was.

cant believe so many faggots on Yea Forums are actually sleeping on the TMP

I dont really like 1 handed maces but if there's 2 handed hammers/maces I will always use them.

Cornillomind

Redpill me on the TMP, I've never used it on my playthroughs. Seems redundant when you have a pistol.

chad tier but warhammer is better

Not that user, but
>Excellent for crowd control (both spraying and stunning for melee)
>Don't have to reload often
>Great for parasites
>Great for miniboss ganado (Chainsaw and Chaingun) due to stunlock

that user. and yeah, this. he summed it up fairly well

It's the ultimate ammo conservation weapon.
>pick up tmp ammo
>50 shots
>a single shot to the leg stuns or trips most enemies
>proceed to knife spam

Get the HD mod as well

>Open door
>*youtube.com/watch?v=qBfsAUFifOo plays*
>Maximum comfy as you sell treasure and buy/upgrade weapons
God, I wish I could play this for the first time again.

Attached: 1544158994649.png (371x532, 281K)

It isnt a no pause run, as you can still pause by opening the options menu. But you just cant open the case. So you have pistol, knife, have to note down/memorize your ammo count, can only use healing items as you find them, dont pick up stuff you dont need, no merchant.

The biggest struggle is being unable to heal asley though.

Well, she gets healed between the Castle and Island, iirc, so you only have to deal with two stretches of worrying about her.

>Maximum comfy as you sell treasure and buy/upgrade weapons
Horror games are simply the best when it comes to comf. The contrast between safe zones and dangerous environments never fails to make you go "ahh, finally some rest" when you reach a home base of sorts. Games like RE and Stalker always bring out that feeling.
The most recent game to do this to me was Pathologic 2, even though it's not a horror game strictly speaking. Still, the feeling of coming back home where no plague or bandit can reach you is great. The music also helps, just like in RE

yeah but you need to conserve ammo for the forced fights you cant easily knife. So you want to run past as many enemies as possible and ashley has the habit of getting herself hurt when you try to do that

youtube.com/watch?v=RCJ8qeMiQac
Patrician save room music. Nothing will make you feel this safe ever in your life.

I prefer youtube.com/watch?v=3axDVOGGofs&t=130s

Kino taste, user. I suddenly want to replay the entire Silent Hill series now.

Fuck, now that I think about it, that does sound bad.
>Water room without healing Ashley
>Wrecking ball room without healing Ashley
>Regenerator hallway without healing Ashley and no rifle

Oh man, this track brings me back - I had a disc that came with a gaming magazine with the monthly theme being RE4 when it came out, so it had a bunch of wallpapers and stuff with this exact track playing in the background. I had no way to play the game back then, but I imagined all sorts of spooky shit when I listened to this music and browsed the screenshots.
Obviously, when I played it years later, it was basically as good as I imagined.

>sitting behind a closed door which I shot a hole in knifing a shitload of zombies
>magazine empty to encourage ammo drops
>notepad beside me to keep track of my ammo count
>after cutting zombies down for like an hour wonder what the fuck im doing iwth my life
also the cabin holdout is pretty rough, as you have to keep track of ammo in the back of your head while trying to stay alive

I mean that's not a comfy theme, but it IS the first song anyone thinks of when they think of RE4, or at least one of them.
For me, it's youtube.com/watch?v=DnAdETmepIY though

youtu.be/Zl89iEOqNxY?t=101

Cheapest ammo, so I always use it for places like the u3 door switches and spiked ceilings in the castle

>Just neckbreaking the chainsaw lady
Fuck, that's never gonna not be satisfying.

The patrician choice.

Reminder that Wesker's merc theme is the best.

>Obviously, when I played it years later, it was basically as good as I imagined.
Thank you for the wholesome finish user! That made me feel good!

Holy God that song

>It fucking pains me SO bad knowing we'll never get shit like this anymore but instead, 8bit chiptune music made by a tranny will be praised
Akira Yamaoka was one of a kind even back in the day, but I get your point.
As a sidenote, doesn't he do music for Suda51 games nowadays? In any case, I think nothing he does will reach the level of SOUL classic Silent Hill had.

>All those damn health sprays
caasssuaaal

>Has so many of them, meaning he doesn't get hit often enough to use them
Fool. He's making you THINK he's casual.

there was an assault rifle but it got cut, pic related, you can still see the model in some of the merchant areas. the typewriter was also supposed to be a normal weapon instead of a special unlock.
