How can people muster the strenght to 100% each game of this franchise? I usually stop playing after the story and half of the side missions, am i missing anything? Also 3-4-5 when

Is the pc one worthy of pirating?
there are 3 on pc right now, if you're not a zoomer you'll like it, start with 0.
You're only missing out if you actually enjoy doing the side content, so you're fine.
>How can people muster the strenght to 100% each game of this franchise?
Autism. I don't even think that would be considered shitposting.
Kiwami 1 is the only one I played and I platinumed it
it was fun
I always think about it during my playthroughs but then I encounter some devilish fucking shit like Puyo-Puyo, Mahjong, 5kk in Outrun or god knows what else and all the desire to grind this bullshit vanishes immediately.
I really don't think I'll ever 100% any of them
this is the mindset that stops me 100%ing them. i'll do all the stuff i enjoy or think i can do, like cabaret, taxi, most substories, but as soon as the game asks me to learn the rules of some overcomplicated chinese board game then i'm going straight past it
i didn't even do the Amon fights in kiwami 2 because they were probably going to be absolute bullshit judging how cheap some of the story fights were
>Puyo-Puyo
They brought this back in Judgment. I pretty much gave up on any notions of ever hundred percenting that game after seeing it again.
I enjoy it when it's good, it's all in the "side content" category but it could vary between good writing and
>oi teme you just bumped into me give me 10k yen
>no
>beat the shit out of him mission complete gg
i'm afraid i'm missing out on legit good content like the sick kid or stuff with majima
Reminds me of when i played mgs4 as a teen without having played the previous ones, you might have missed 70% of each character's development and story.
I at least do all the substories for the secret boss in every game.
I tried 100%ing 0 entirely but the lack of cheat items for gambling put that shit on a glacial pace.
Also seriously fuck the JCC
>Reminds me of when i played mgs4 as a teen without having played the previous ones, you might have missed 70% of each character's development and story.
Completely wrong, stop bullshitting him. Kiwami 1 is as legit of a place to start as Y0.
>outrun
what? how is outrun hard? the game only requires you to get like 5 mil in, you never even have to finish the race. how is outrun hard?
>tfw the AI double riichis consistently
>and never discards tiles that have 4 left in play
And it keeps giving me shit hands and tiles I could have used 2 discards ago.
Not him but K1 stood well for itself for me. The original 1 didn't have the prequel, either.
I'm playing K2 now and it seems more apparent that I should've played 0 this game, atleast. They're referencing 0 events a lot more in this one.
should've played 0 before this game*
Probably to promote thst new puyo esports title. I like that Moto Raid game. Never heard of it prior but i like it alot
Is that the fight club? I just bet like 50k on the police girl and I usually win AND make bank. If you need a win, just bet the minimum and keep choosing the attack that defeats their strongest and blocks their 2nd strongest. and hope they don't revive and instant kill you at the end.
fuck no. For zero, completing every side story and the main story got you 65%. The rest was weapons and cards.
If the cards we're actually porn I would of tho
they want to be japanese or live in Japan
Im well aware of how to do it.
It just takes so fucking long compared to losing at mahjong or other stuff.
I think I bet a high amount once on the outcome of the tournament and won so I think I missed 80% of the frustration.
Yakuza 0 is really good. 11/10 story and 12/10 soundtrack, the combat is repetitive but there's a system in place for avoiding most non-story encounters, side quests range from really cool and memorable to low effort filler. Shitloads of minigames, too.
I'm playing through Kiwami now, it's basically more of the same but the tone seems to be considerably darker and heavier, which I'm not really crazy about.
>try to 100% any yakuza game
>fall asleep from boredom within the first 10 minutes
this is gonna be harder than I thought
Should I start with 0 or Kiwami or emulate the PS2 game?
Emulate the PS2 games first. That way you'll appreciate the changes in the later games more.
Start with 0 or Kiwami. Either is fine really. Atleast try the ps2 original because the english dub.
>inb4 the release order only autist shows up
a single mistake and it's all over
you don't have time for this shitjust play kiwami
I would tell you to emulate the original PS2 version of Yakuza 1 and play through the series in release order, but it seems as though that's a designated shitposting opinion now for some reason. Otherwise, I'd recommend starting with 0 over Kiwami.
Keep in mind though, I guarantee 95% of the people who would tell you to start with 0 haven't played the old games and therefore have no frame of reference on what an appropriate way to play through the whole series would be.
0. Skip PS2 ones, they're made obsolete by Kiwami.
Is Kiryu's face based on a real japanese actor like other Yakuza characters?
Asking for a friend.
ye it's me :)
No, they didn't start basing characters on the VA
's likenesses until like Yakuza 3 or 4.
I started with 0 then Kiwami. Then i played 2-5 on ps2/3 before 6 released. Starting with 0 is fine.
0 was the first Yakuza game I played and it took me until halfway through the game to realize that the key story characters' models are based on real life Japanese actors and specifically that the Sunshine Cabaret hostesses are based off real-life JAV actresses
>Starting with 0 is fine.
Did I say it wasn't?
I guess that explains why Japan isn't run by a God-King that looks like Kazuma Kiryu then.
I played and beat all mainline Yakuza games and I only 100% Yakuza 2 on PS3.
I was incredibly sick at the time and got nothing else to play.
so? it's pretty hard to make a mistake, you'd have to purposefully drive off course
you don't have time for this shitjust play Judgment and then Shin RGG when that comes out
My question to you OP is: Why do you want to 100% these games? I would maybe understand doing all the substories, but these are some of the worst games to 100% because of how many different little minigames there are of which you are almost guaranteed not to like at least two or three of them.
>emulate the PS2 games first
>Skip PS2 ones, they're made obselete
So which is it?
there is very little point in playing both, which ever way you decide to go.
>tfw still gotta play Kiwami 2 and 6 before Judgment
Emulate if you have a decent ability to stomach the janky ps2 original game with an awkward dub. Not a shitpost as I actually do enjoy that kind of stuff. 2 is much better than one though and people saying kiwami 2 makes it obsolete is kinda harder to argue compared to 1 vs kiwami. Keep in mind we still have no idea when 3/4/5's remasters are coming out so you'd need a ps3 to play them until probably next year on ps4/PC.
If you wanna see a series evolve and then have a gap since 3-5 aren't on PC yet, emulate.
If you just wanna play yakuza at its arguable peak do 0 Kiwami.
I'd say emulate but I'm someone who had a ps3 to play 3-4-5.
And dreaming of 3-4-5 HD on pc
Play the PS2 games if you think you might want to go through the entire series and make an experience out of it.
Play 0 if you just want a fun Japanese beat em up with a good story, and then move on to K1 and K2 if afterwards you find yourself wanting more of that.
Dame Dame Me
I should just emulate Yak3. Apparently the HD remaster on PS4 isn't very different at all, even graphics/quality wise
When is the Kenzan translation patch gonna be done?
Just wait for the Kiwami remaster in 5 years destructoid.com
>it's real
>and it's from only three days ago
Holy shit, is there actually hope? Even Ishin was just a remote possibility, I didn't think there was ever any chance we could see Kenzan officially released in English.
Yup. Talked about it during the Yakuza 5 HD Chinese release when the interviewer brought up Kenzan.
>trying to platinum Judgment
>Puyo Puyo
>with sekiro out, it’s the perfect time to release a samurai game when there’s also the ghost one coming out
>not when 7th and 8th gen had few samurai games
>not when pre bloodborne ps4 was basically a no games machine and could’ve made ishin a small success with the few exclusives worth playing at the time
>Go into secret casino
>girls in skimpy outfits everywhere
wtf Yea Forums told me that snoy were the bad guys censoring everything?
Sega is retarded.
Anyone else playing Judgement or is the game basically a confirmed flop at this point?
currently playing 0, it's fun but no way I'm 100% shit like pool, bar games or board games. Already did karaoke 100% and trying to do all the disco mini games with the highest score. I will also do all the substories and real estate management but no way I'm doing every single thing in the game.
How are Kiwami 1 and 2?
>How are Kiwami 1 and 2?
Not as good.
kiwami 1 is kinda shitty but that's only because the original game was really rough around the edges to begin with, 2 is way better in comparison
kiwami 1 isn't that good but necessary for some character introductions. kiwami 2 is pretty enjoyable, but zero is peak.
I am.
It's alright but feels exactly the same as the other games except with a few piss easy investigative elements. They really should have called it Yakuza: Judgment or something just to ship a few extra copies. There's also series fatigue which I think is contributing to it (perhaps stop setting it in the same fucking area every fucking game then)
I like drone races, though.
whats bad about it? The core gameplay/combat and story? Or the available minigame? Substories and main story and the management activities are my favorite things so far
0 is the only actually good story in the series, the rest range from mediocre to pure shit.
I'm loving it so far. I only played Yakuza 5, though, so if it's similar to those games I can't really say. It's more grounded and serious in tone.
I couldn't even muster to get through the first mission in Kiwami.
>walking
>talking
>cutscenes
Fun game
alright i had a dream saying to me to make a yakuza thread but i made one and someone calledm e a retard and told me to check the catalog and i can't delete the thread now. To the point:
Yakuza didn't click to me. It has everything i like (manliness, over the top things, shitpost in videogame form, manly singing) but i just can't get past chapter 3
What is wrong with me? I listen to baka mitai daily
all bosses have a mechanic where you have to do a heat move or the boss heals, however these are upgrades you have to get and the final one is the dragon of dojima style finisher which needs you to max out the majima everywhere shit which is a time sink.
The story is also kind of meh, especially without the groundwork zero lays out to actually introduce the characters to you properly.
Judgement has no soul.
zero? the start is a bit slow storywise but chapter 4 onwards it picks up. I remember not caring about tachibana at all at first, but all the characters grow on you.
Judgement is great. The PR for West just really fucking flopped
Kiwami 1 isn't bad, overall it's just not as good as the rest. It's also very short compared to the rest. You'll find lots of people in Yakuza threads saying
>Kiwami just felt like Yakuza 0 DLC
kiwami 1 is the first game you fucking mongoloid
>three low-effort, obviously filler Dragon Engine games in a row
They better knock it out of the park with Ichiban's game.
might be hard to do when it's in Kamurocho again, and the MC and his backstory is actually Kiryu 2.0
alright, i'm going to give it another a go then when i finish persona 5
>KAMUROCHO
>ORPHAN
>YAKUZA FATHER
>FALSELY IMPRISONED
>BETRAYED OUT OF PRISON
CMON, RGG. WHAT ARE YOU DOIN?
i'm still salty about the shoddy performance on the base ps4, but aside from that it's pretty alright so far
way better than Y6, i can tell you that much
wew thats basically just kiryu at the start of yakuza 1
>shoddy performance on the base PS4
Color me surprised. RGG should just start doing multiplat PS4/PC game launches already. Playing the Yakuza games at below 60fps feels like ass.
It has obvious references to 0, even more if you count the substories, as i said, you lose a shit ton of character development and most of the things that happen, both good and bad, lose a lot of the meaning when you do not fully know the person, if you still want to start with 1 might as well start with the Ps2 one so you do not miss any of those and you get all the gameplay enhancements.
>not as good
that's like saying that 0 is a 9/10 while Kiwami is an 8, not as good, but pretty fucking good nonetheless.
>Hold on f-am let me just go and release my key witnesses' sister real quick
>My witness was a bit nervous in court that's why he said that stupid shit before the unusually long recess
Why the fuck didn't they just say that she was kidnapped by yakuza when both Yagami and the witnesses' sister can vouch for this?
>Playing the Yakuza games at below 60fps feels like ass.
Seriously. It's almost painful to play Judge Eyes dipping under 30fps.
The model’s expression is so fucking weak compared to the art
I would put Kiwami at like a 6.5/10 honestly. I didn't think the story was good at all, nearly every boss fight was ass, and the grindy Majima shit was horrendously irritating after a while.
God I fucking hate this character design so much
Why does he look like a fucking spic and why is his hair like a black womans
I agree. The afro hair is fucking horrendous. Already have a bad feeling about this MC.
That's just what Okinawans look like.
>posts anime as example
How dare you respond to me
jesus i'd rather play as haruka again
you're playing a fucking korean crime drama soap opera simulator, get a grip.
He looks like shit and I would have preferred to play as anybody else, get a grip.
Translation bros can already figure out the plot/backstory of Shin Yakuza. Yakuza Online can be downloaded, and the very first part shows what happened to Ichiban 20 years ago. youtube.com
>He looks like a fucking filthy wetback bean and cheese eating spic that we need to build a wall to prevent from getting in
>dude wtf get a grip lol
>He looks like a fucking filthy wetback bean and cheese eating spic that we need to build a wall to prevent from getting in
I didn't say that but I wholeheartedly agree, glad we can see eye to eye.
I'm only 3-4 hours into Judgment, but playing as someone who's different to Kiryu is such a breath of fresh air. Giving us not! Kiryu is a huge step backward and I'd rather just have Judgment 2.
>playing as someone who's different to Kiryu is such a breath of fresh air
And yet people complain endlessly about the most not-Kiryu protagonist the series has sever had.
Bought yakuza 0 on pc. Got bored very quickly.
Thanks for your worthless blogpost
I can already feel the court case behind Yagami's character falling apart honestly, it's a fantastic idea but it feels like they're gonna fall back into the classic IT WAS A SETUP MC MADE NO MISTAKES gig.
>IT WAS A SETUP MC MADE NO MISTAKES
I felt like this even when they showed the murderer's face in that intro fire scene. You wouldn't just humanise someone like that for the sake of it.
I got tired of Yakuza 0 because I couldn't beat the final 3 motherfuckers in the Mahjong tournament
so far I have finished 0 and kiwami 1 and left them around 60 % and I had a blast
playing kiwami 2 rn
too fucking bad the dragon engine removed the different styles
seething
Styles are kind of a shit addition though. They just felt like a step back compared to Kiryu's moveset in previous games. I'd much rather have a single fully-fleshed out fighting style than have moves arbitrarily pigeonholed into multiple less useful styles. This becomes very noticeable once you unlock Dragon of Dojima which is basically what Kiryu had all along in the previous games and doesn't have obvious weaknesses like the other styles.
>that feel when you build the perfect pocket racer
Pocket Racer sucks ass, it's one of the worst minigames in the series. I'd rather play a full game of Saejima's hunting than ever touch Pocket Racer again.
Shit taste
low iq
disgusting plebeian scum
t.got scrubbed on rookie course
they're both bad. Taxi racing is THE only good racing minigame
I think kiwami 2 was a shitty remake, it cut out content and the character expressions in cutscenes is shitty so it looses a lot of, well, character.
This.
PC versions are:
>Free
>60fps
>Native 4K
>Not snoy infested
Does judgment have any retard tier twists?
Don't need specifics just a yes or no.
Also what the fuck is the resolute counter?
>Does judgment have any retard tier twists?
it's a yakuza game. what do you think?
>I'd rather play a full game of Saejima's hunting than ever touch Pocket Racer again.
Got you covered mate
Christ PS3 Kiryu looks so dumb
How the fuck is judgment filler?
I just finished YK2 and found it easier to complete the CP list, it's quite lenient in this game. Not sure about getting 100% trophies though, I'm only halfway through the bouncer missions
>Saejima's hunting
My nigga, hunting is comfy as fuck and it had an interesting arc, you learn a lot about the people in a town on bumfuck nowhere and become part of their economy and culture, furthermore you fight a giant ass bear and save people from life-threatening situations.
Meanwhile pocket racer is just: throw money at the car until it becomes good
It's addictive, but not because it's specially fun or has any substance to it but because you want to get your investment back somehow.
>Why does he look like a fucking spic and why is his hair like a black womans
I wonder what the shitstorm will be like on here when they reveal that his father was a nigger stationed in the Okinawa military base?
i have only one achievement left to unlock to 100% kiwami 1
It's the master mister achievement and i'm stuck a the final billard challenge
Fuck Haruka
Get Yakuza 0. Do not start with Kiwami, the game is shit. 0 is great, Kiwami 2 is decent. Play Kiwami if you liked 0 and want to continue the story.
Kiwami 1 is literally the worst game in the entire series.
majima everywhere was fun though
I played 0, K1 and half of K2 on the PS4. Now sold the console and I wonder if it's worth it to get K2 on PC to finish it (and start from beginning)
Playing a Yakuza game for the first time and I'm about 12 hours in. Do the fights get more varied later on? Been playing for a while and it feels like it's the same two enemies each time and they don't really do anything, like they're waiting to be beaten up.
Autist Baseball Man is the best thing out of 5
You're preaching to the choir. I love Shinada and thought he was a great relief from the typical hardass characters in the series, but everyone complains that he's just a washed up loser.
combat is one of the easiest minigames in Yakuza
lol
no
welcome to yakuza
He feels different in the mobile game since he's less stoic than Kiryu and seems a bit cheeky (straight up forgets akiyamas name)
Also feels like he'd actually kill if there isn't someone with him. (Almost beats a man to death because a women said she wanted the guy to die, but is eventually stopped by said women)
The over world fights don't escalate or vary much. At most you'll get dudes with weapons.
There is however, a lot of variety in how you can approach fights, using different styles/moves/heat actions/weapons
Why do people keep playing this boring shovelware?
every fucking thread
It's on PC.
We won.
We play.
Fuck snoy.
Is he the coolest muthafucka in the whole Yakuza franchise?
It just occurred to me how silly it would look with Kiryu prancing around the karaoke bar, doing his rap.
Not even close
No. and this isn't even counting Ryuji, Ryusho, or Akiyama.
but if the enemies hardly do anything and are a cakewalk to take down no matter what you do, it's really uninteresting to experiment
changing styles and moves and weapons against enemies that don't attack you sounds like you're just trying to trick yourself into being interested
judgment is in no way low effort or filler
It's why they give you items to disable/reduce encounters towards the end of every game
>kamurocho again
>worse frame rate
>same combat system
>reusing dead souls assets
>same minigames
>no karaoke
>only novel addition is the drone
It most certainly is low effort.
weebs will eat up anything that a jap shits out. even fundamentally broken and shitty games will receive a pass for patented japanese "quirkiness" (read: retardation)
>>kamurocho again
I don't see it as a bad thing personally
>worse frame rate
agree
>same combat system
literally wrong
>reusing dead souls assets
Didn't see that, but I'm only 10 hours in
>same minigames
litterally wrong
>no karaoke
agree
>only novel addition is the drone
literally wrong
seems like a typical Yakuza sequel to me, still don't see how it's low effort compared to the rest
>he can't finish Outrun or Space Harrier
Absolute pleb.
yakuza 5 kiwami pc fuckin WHEN
youtube.com
So how exactly does a japanese company get away with making a game about yakuza?
woops forgot to quote
The yakuza bankroll the games
have you looked at the director ? There's a 99% chance he has ties with actual Yakuza
I love Yakuza but yeah this much is true. I mean you see it especially with fans of Yoko Taro's games, but Western games that have a few bugs are BLUNDER OF THE CENTURY LITERALLY UNPLAYABLE THE ABSOLUTE STATE. Meanwhile actually GOOD Japanese games tend to be shitposted into oblivion
The framerate isn't even worse than 6, it's roughly the same (Though it's a bit worse than K2), and if you're on a Pro there's literally no difference at all since all three games run at 1080 30.
In a decade probably considering they're not making Kiwamis of 3, 4, or 5. We'll have to wait until TGS or maybe even this July 10th thing to see what they say about 3, 4, and 5 PS4 getting localized.
Which Yakuza game should I try to stream 100% first? Zero, K1 or K2?
fuck off cheng
Where do people find the time to force themselves to 100% games when they aren't even enjoying the chore? There are already so many good games out there and not enough time to play them. I can't imagine spending hours on something annoying just to get a completely meaningless """trophy"""
All it stands for is a symbol to how much time you have to waste and how badly your life is going
Why not just play the parts you enjoy and be satisfied with that and then move on to the next enjoyable game?
SAY NO TO THE WORLD
SAY NO TO THE WORLD
have you legitimately never heard of autism
The honest answer is autism. It's thrown around here so much that it's easy to forget that a lot of people on Yea Forums are genuinely on the spectrum. Which only makes sense. Even if a lot of normies come here these days it's still a honey trap for people with social issues. So people like this being here should not surprise you.
Maybe there are people who intrinsically enjoy the act of completing checklists, so to speak?
Can't see myself personally doing it, but different strokes and all that.
What is with all the spinoffs having great songs for the OPs? First Kenzan, then Black Panther 2 (Not a big fan of Muppet and their hole in a bucket), then Ishin, now Judgment.
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
youtube.com
Kenzan's sword unsheathing to the song is always my favorite bits of it. Even Dead Souls' is alright but not as good as those other three.
This may apply to retarded collectathon shit like the ones forced into every GTA game, but side missions are real content.
>enjoy
But that's my point, I'm talking about people who are forcing themselves to play parts of games they don't enjoy for hours just to tick that box. Even if the tick is enjoyable, the hours and hours of tedium and frustration aren't. They're kidding themselves. it's not "worth it" or an achievement. It's not even overcoming a challenge, it's just timewasting. Like reading a giant pile of newspapers which are all the same edition cover to cover and feeling like you've overcome a challenge. It wasn't hard to do other than the frustration and boredom.
It's not really about challenge, it's more of a timekiller. For people with autism (like me) repetition so these games are very soothing. I loves Yakuza because it's mostly just busywork and repeated tasks and each game is the same, and never too difficult.
It's not even the cutscenes that bother me (even though there are a lot and they're quite slow) it's the hours of conversations you have to sit through while character models stand around staring at each other blankly. There is literally hours of this, it's what you spend most your time doing. And by the time you're fighting the last boss, less than 0.00001% of them actually mattered. Sometimes I feel like Yakuza games are more like timesinks for people with absolutely nothing to do instead of games. They could all be great if they stripped back the tedium but it seems what most people want is 100 hours of "content" even if only 10 of them are enjoyable.
I am only mildly autistic so I don't know how it feels for the really aspie guys but I like that Kiryu seems autistic himself. His reactions and thought processes are relateable in the main storyline, and then the side stories are like wish fulfillment for people like me who wish they weren't social retards. It's nice to imagine going to a club and dancing or doing karaoke well or having lots of girls want to have sex with you. It feels good to me.
So ADHD kid complaining about autists enjoying their games?
not him but there's nothing "ADHD" about getting bored of a repetitive and slow game that goes on for 100 hours
>Hey guys, make sure you force yourself to play that one game in the entire series with an English dub first, only to be forced to "scratch that" and switch to Japanese dub onwards, because that's oh so fun and there could be no better idea than suddenly changing voice languages, rather than keeping it the same from beginning to end!
>judgement is ten times better than the garbage that was Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2
>it's still slow and clunky and unresponsive
This engine just isn't capable of good combat, you can tell they really tried and Judgement is everything they've got.
>hours of conversations you have to sit through while character models stand around staring at each other blankly
Yeah, the VN bullshit. I love the series, but I seriously don't understand how japanese developers keep adding this garbage to their games.
Someone's really gotta tell them that greeks existed
>talk to NPC#1, read a bunch of poorly written inconsequential bullshit
>run to the other part of the city
>talk to NPC#2, read a bunch of poorly written inconsequential bullshit
>CHOTTO OMAE!!!
>run to the other part of the city
>talk to NPC#3, read a bunch of poorly written inconsequential bullshit
>cutscene
Look, I understand that it's impossible to make an open world game without some padding, but there's a billion of those that don't feel like a chore, why can't Yakuza be like them?
>adhd
That's a really dumb fallacy that only exposes you as a brainlet. I can and do sit through a fuckload of slow ass in-depth RPGs that absolutely dab on Yakuza it terms of its complexity and depth yet Yakuza is the one that makes me want to tear my hair out.
Take your meds.
maybe they could stop blowing the entire budget on "celebrity" faces, 90% of which are of people unknown outside japan, and spend some money to make an actual better game
but why bother when yakuzadrones will buy literally anything
Is this a counterpoint? sounds more like conceding to me
It's almost as if these games are made for a japanese audience.
The irony is if you're willing to sit through repetitive tasks for 100 hours (and almost 10 times over) then you're much more likely to have a mental disorder than someone who finds this dull
>HURR it's obvious, just make it better lol
We've got a fucking genius of management and game design in here lads
This
It's literally impossible to make the Yakuza games better so it's idiotic to suggest it.
Remember that Yakuza games are pretty much just VNs with sub-standard combat between the conversations
Just started Yakuza 0 as my first game. It's the perfect example of a 7/10, stopped just short of achieving greatness. I can say 100 good things about the game but also 100 bad things.
The mini-games are fun but not fun enough to keep doing. The side missions are mildly amusing but not very satisfying. Every time the plot makes you do something exciting the momentum gets killed by some boring shit like buying alcohol for homeless people. The cutscenes are great but bogged down by so much pointless unskippable shitty conversation that's a chore to sit through. The action gameplay is sort of fun but doesn't have any depth like a real action game like Devil May Cry, so fighting the same shitty fodder a thousand times and "press triangle for cool!" becomes a chore.
I really want to like this game but it's just a constant mix of fun and frustrating. There's so much content but the content is just average
>it's fine that they are still selling us PS2 games with slightly different skins over and over again
>why are you asking for them to improve the games? that's dumb. they should keep spending the money on celebrity faces instead.
I have never seen a post with "hurr" in it that wasn't retarded. Pretty ironic, really.
Only games I've platted are Dead Souls and 6. The rest have some absolutely tedious or bullshit requirements that stop me in some way and I just go nah fuck this and stop playing after doing all of the substories and as many completion events as I can be bothered with. Didn't even get that far with Lost Paradise because of the absolutely bullshit grind that is required to even finish all of the substories in that. Still don't know how I forced my way through Dead Souls.
I want to cum inside Makoto!
I felt like this even with Judgment's first chapter. I suspected the guy running away from the scuffle outside the club but the characters did fuck all about it for ages before going WAIT A MINUTE MAYBE THAT CUNT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT. Pissed me off.
sounds like you have ADHD if you don't want the story to play out as slowly as possible at every opportunity
God bless you all, downloading a repack of 0
If you start feeling bored, don't worry, that's just how Yakuza games are meant to be. And remember, 0 is EASILY the best one, so when you're finally near the end and you're completely sick of it, know that the others are worse.
Can use cheat engine on yakuza 0 to great success?
why would you want to use a cheat engine? the enemies in Y0 don't even attack you. there is no challenge whatsoever.
Buy the game faggot
severe autism and no life, how can you enjoy all those boring ass mini-games?
literally why?
there are yakuza games being released every month now. the "support yakuza in the west" meme is dead. if anything they're milking it too much.
As opposed to illegit good content?
Careful bro, we aren't allowed to criticize the dragon engine in these threads anymore. Keep it up and that one guy might call you a 0 secondary.
It's also free
Thank you for beta testing console tards paypigs
This post helps make clear why the yakuza games never improve
Improve the games? HURR fuck off retard!
Grind minigames
Is Kiryu supposed to be autistic or is he just written like an idiot?
t. someone who started playing 0 yesterday
It was the easiest overall for PC bros so far I feel. Don't worry bouncer missions are easy as fuck with full power Kiryu, even the fabled last 4.
He's written as a fantasy for autistic people who would love to be able to beat up a bunch of guys with ease and have every single beautiful woman melt at the sight of you no matter how little interest you show them.
he's just a regular japanese man (and a virgin)
the translation will never be finished
Yeah yeah he's a typical vessel protagonist in a game/story that's ultimately a power fantasy. I can put two and two together, unlike Kiryu. At least his autism is kind amusing.
He has plenty of character actually, it will become clear gradually.
He isn't even that stupid, just kinda naive and uneducated.
>you're right, I agree, but I don't like what you're saying so shut up
I didn't say he had no character.
>but I don't like what you're saying so shut up
I didn't say that either.
>if we were to create a ‘Kiwami’ version, we could possibly find new actors to contract and swap the models out."
hope you didn't like any of the characters in Kenzan, because they're gonna get replaced with more current day actors (and probably literal who's now because they're not going to give a big budget for kenzan)
As a former MMO addict I find these games chump change.
Marume and Itou would most likely be the only ones they swap out and even then Marume wouldn't need to be swapped out considering he looks the exact same now as when the game was made. Itou being Mario would be pretty silly to see considering he's the same model as Kawara. I believe Ukiyo was played by someone famous but I'm not 100% sure on that. Outside of that there's really only who? Kojiro was an actor I think, Sekishusai was OC I think, and then the rest are one-off characters like the priest who sends them out to perform the assassination or the Houzoin tournament runner.
Playing 0 for the first time and I've just got Kiryu's new suit. How far into the game am I?
The story seems like it's just getting started but at the same time I feel like I've been playing forever
That's chapter 5 if I remember right. You still have roughly 10 chapters to go. The Kiryu chapters are more laid back in terms of their pacing while Majima's are more in-your-face which is why he feels slower than Majima's side.
Kiwami 1 then emulate Yakuza2 then 0
Starting with 0 is like starting with dessert
Kiwami 1 is better because they add more cutscenes that help with you getting a better story
I don't like the Dragon Engine so Kiwami 2 is worse than 2, plus they made a lot of artistic choices that ruined Kiwami 2 (the music comes to mind)
>mfw tried out the disco dancing minigame in 0 for the first time
I thought I could platinum this game but not anymore with this annoying piece of shit.
>The underground mall is only in 4
Can someone explain why this is the case?
At least close it off so it won't feel really weird that you can't go down there
Ishin better have access there and Kamurocho Hill
Fuck off retard
KOI NO DISCO QUEEN

KOWASEEEEEEEE
Don't try to go for super high combos, the vast majority of what you make should be in the range of 4-6 steps. There's also times where they do notes in succession so don't even bother doing steps because you'll never be fast enough, just go for the notes. Also, don't fall for the special dance, it's only worth it if you've just messed up, if your combo is higher than about 15 it's always worth it to ignore it because the dance only gets you 1000ish points and bypasses at least 6-15 notes depending on your difficulty but at a high combo you get that many points in like three or four notes.
Most importantly, stop paying attention to the lights and focus on the music, the music is always in-tune with the notes so just focus on where the notes are appearing and hit them to the beat of the song, not to the visual of the square enclosing it.
Fan dancing in Ishin is much much harder.
Its a fun mini-game once you get it, but it's a terrible fucking rythm game. Unlike a normal rythm game just focus on the outside square and try to ignore the rythm.
(Im gona make her mine is the most under-rated song, fact.)
I thought so too but now this is unironically my favorite mini-game in the entire series
But the notes are in-line with the rhythm. You hit them to the beat of the song, it's only on Hard and on either I'm Gonna Make Her Mine or Koi no Disco Queen where it's slightly off, but it's always on beat even with the notes in a sequence. The square is good to look at and judge but ultimately the beat of the song makes it much easier for you to hit the note, at least, that's how I do it.
The only game I 100% was Kiwami 2 just to experience the Amons and it was probably the most tedious shit ever, especially the cabaret club sidequests
The CP requirement for disco is achievable just by keeping the beat. The substory battles are much harder because the NPCs are good and building up combos.
yeah and guess what you have to beat the NPCs
Just try harder, I thought I was going to murder somebody for the batting cage in dragon engine, now it's one of my all time faves.
The only real fucker in 0 is the Catfight shit and having to win it 10 times for the trophy.
the worst part is having to watch unskippable cutscenes of the Osaka dancer guy dabbing on you every time you lose to him
It's okay, you'll show him up eventually in multiple ways.
He shows up Park in a number of ways.
I am so bad at rhythm minigames holy shit
it's easier in Dragon Engine to get 90+, but harder to get 100
>NPC text bubble in Judgment mentions going to karaoke
Cruel
>How can people muster the strenght to 100% each game of this franchise?
By waiting years before playing the next one.
It's not the sort of series you can marathon.
Somebody once said that yakuza was a better brawler than sleeping dogs. After playing most of Yakuza O before getting bored I can tell you he’s wrong. Sleeping dog is the superior game.
but which game was made in japan? checkmate, user
O? never seen that one, is it new?
Seriously though, I like these games for more than just the brawling, it's the whole weirdly selfaware package and I usually never learn how to properly utilise the movesets till I have to, in the post game challenges.
How is Sleeping Dogs though?
I know you can say O instead of Zero
>How is Sleeping Dogs though?
not japanese
>100%
Fuck this meme
Fucking hell judgment feels long as shit.
Nice but where's Kenzan?
pretty comfy, lads
Chances are high it get's a Kiwami overhaul since Sato thinks it's shi... err old
What are those "Information Booths" for in real-life? Just pics and adverts of nearby clubs?
