That the best you can do lil zoom?

The difficulty spike from after the main tower is fucking ridiculous, but it's so fun. No clue how to deal with dungeons that don't let you take items in outside of just getting lucky with drops.

In what ways beside the Sign is deluxe better than normal?

Anyone have any good recommendations for a rougelike? pretty new to the genre but i want something with a steeper learning curve to invest some free time in.

Well there's angband and it's derivatives or Nethack if you somehow haven't already played them.
If you're really new and want something easy/simple you could also try out DoomRL which is suprisingly fast paced despite being turn based.

This game has a nice ui although the art looks slightly gay

The version with no tileset is significantly more aesthetic, but not everyone can handle ASCII rougelikes.
Just get the free version. The only reason you'd pay for it is if you really want to give someone money for freeware or hate RNG stats in character gen.
