ESports prizepools

>someone, this August, is going to win between 27M and 30M from a fucking videogame tournament

How the fuck is this possible or fair?

You think that's bad, just look at pro sports where fuckheads get paid that same amount, regardless of whether they actually win or not.

at least those actually have to move and get up at 6am everyday to win something
these guys literally sit in a chair all day

It gets split between 5 people and tons of it goes to team staff members, advertisers, etc

don't think about it wagie, wasting your energy on getting mad is no way to go

Reading comprehension bruv, those sportsballers get $30M just for being on the team, even if the team loses. The guys winning the $30M in the Invitational have to beat out several dozen teams through double elimination, else they get jack squat for their efforts.

That they sit in chairs is immaterial.

The entire pot doesn't go to first place ya dingus

It's a prize POOL
First place doesn't get the entirety of it. (and then it's also split between 5+ people)

Sure, but it's not reaching people outside the top ranks. Point being, these people are competing for part of the pot while "legitimate" athletes get paid regardless of their actual performance.

The orgs find advertisers to pay the arg
Almost always the price money goes 18% per player and 10% for coach.

>getting mad at this when sportsball has done it before
lol. ur a tool

what the fuck is the arg

>video game coach
L M A O

You mean
>video game coach who makes millions of dollars
>laughing in poverty

Scam artists getting rich is nothing new.

I don't think you understand what a coach does
The game being played is not a part of it

It's pretty much important job, user.
You need to move lazy player asses(they are still manchildrens so they actually can't play in their "bad" days even if it's their job), also you need to take responsibility even if for not your decisions(but player ones), also you need to work with a lot of data to mindgame everyone else, and you have to communicate with other teams for training matches. It takes almost full time and it's very important.

And you need a phd level of understanding of the game itself to help with strategizing.

Golfers get paid based on how they do at tournaments. Same with tennis players. Team France's players won $38M for winning the world cup.

It's not a combat sport. You don't need some faggot nigger telling you what to do. It's entirely up to the player, unlike fighting, which has third party observers. Unless the coaches sit back and watch the other team play, they have no actual need to exist.

So I see you have absolutely no fucking clue what you're talking about, got it

What you're thinking of is a manager, not a coach. Use your brain.

No, I'm thinking of a coach. Stop pretending to be retarded.

No, you're describing a manager. Watch any real sport to see how wrong you are, brainlet.

While on the subject, why esports? Why does it have to be compared to actual sports, I love video games, but 'esports' is in no way comparable to an actual sport.

Concession accepted!

>fair
jeff bezos will cross 100 billion usd networth

Manager is more about HR+all paper work(getting visas/etc)+doing housework if there is no one else to do it.
Manager could be a casual player and still do his job fine.

Try not to hurt yourself thinking.

You laugh but teams with coaches do better than others.

A coach is essentially a trainer, especially in combat sports. They COACH the athletes in their gym in whatever aspect of the sport they focus on. They don't deal with management aspects, thus you're thinking of a manager.

"Construction workers should make more than CEOs because they move around more"
lol
Professional gamers work their assess off constantly

Fair to who, comrade? You can start practicing (or have a vagina) right now instead of shitposting.

Coaches deal with tactics and training. Managers deal with trades and signings.

its fucking hard to win TI. Try to win your 2k mmr pub first before u talk shot about derve

In other words, managers manage, trainers train, I.E, what you describe as a coach is much more similar to manager in this "sport."

coaches are needed at that level. just watch last ti. OG had a phenomenal coach who had a great insight with statistical datas for every matchup/ opponent.

In esports trainers called coaches.

How do top football playerd earn double digit millions a year for kicking a ball?

Same reason

So was this terminology developed by retarded yuros or retarded spics?

because the people that watch it decided to fund it
it's amazing what getting a little bit of money from a lot of people can do for your finances

so it's just going to be one of these threads eh

this is why huge prize pools are just a meme. real athletes make their money through contracts.
