This. You know usually in FF games even if they're lousy I can find at least one likable character in the cast. But for FF13? The villain sucks. The main lead? Unlikable cunt (just as unlikable as Beatrix from FF9). The other main characters from the group? All of them are either annoying or uninteresting. The black dude is not annoying, but he is rather boring and blatantly unnecessary in the story especially after his "Suicide GUN TO THE HEAD!!!....except he's alive even though we saw his corpse in a funeral casket." So yeah the whole cast was garbage.

Lightning was shit waifu material, let's be real. I only played FF13 and not the sequels, but her characterization was shit, her design was mediocre, and there was nothing to really make me care about her or her character arc, which revolved mainly around finding her little sister who was more attractive than she was. Militaristic waifus just aren't attractive.

FF8 is my favorite FF and Quistis is my favorite character, deal with it.

I enjoyed the story and battle system of 13. If only it was less linear had some towns to explore and some of the trash mob fights were adjusted to not take as long it could of been a 9/10 game but alas they fucked up.

13 postgame/missions only > 13-2 > 13's final chapter > LR > 13 everywhere else

SE at that time was riding the "we make the prettiest shit around" high so everything HAD to look pretty
never forget the barrel with 1000 unique textures.

First, look up the resolution, that was taken from the PC version.
Second, SE had the budget and the game is mainly corridors with little action over it, of course looks pretty.
Three, people forget that between 2007 and 2014 there were games that weren't generic brown and bloom shooters, so when they look a game like FFXIII their mind blow

FFXIII kind of sucked but I actually liked FFXIII-2.

imagine 13 if it had minigames and people and sidequests beyond killing monsters. and if they actually explained the story. and if lightning and hope weren't whiny/stubborn fucks. could've been great. as it stands, I still thinkk ff13 gets way too much hate, as it's a solid game on its own merits. postgame is really where it shines, with a bunch of difficult and challenging mission marks like two raktavijas. attacus was a lot of fun.

This. The hunts were fantastic and really showcased the strengths of the battle system. As much as I want to hate XIII, the postgame was too enjoyable for me to care about the poor writing and world development.

13 was meh, pretty at the time and some good designs, just poorly realized. Gran Pulse was fun however.

13-2 was vastly improved and was actually quite a bit of fun.

LR was fun gameplay wise, but everything else sucked.
