This aged like shit.
This aged like shit
I disagree. I replayed HL2 and both episodes recently and they still hold up incredibly well both graphically and mechanically.
Wouldn’t aging like shit be a good thing, since it just dries and stops stinking and sticking to everything?
city-slicker OP has probably never even played cowpie frisbee
Somewhat agree. Episode One was something of a let down. It was basically just Half-Life 2 stream lined and with more AI co-op levels. Going back into the Citadel in particular was very contrived, both with regards to gameplay and plot. Yeah, we get it, you wanted to finish and release the Citadel maps that you had to cut from Half-Life 2 proper at the last minute, but it retroactively made Half-Life 2 worse by cheapening the impact of the supercharging moment.
On the up side, Episode One's finale boss was probably the best of the series. Half-Life 2 proper's two gunships was really underwhelming, Episode Two's strider marathon just got tedious after a while, and Episode Three's final shootout on the bridge was practically just a cut scene.
Episode Two was the best of the series over all. Exploring the Antlion tunnels was fun, and Hunters are easily the most fun enemies to play against ever. Episode One's zombines with their grenade pulling mechanic were annoying to fight against, and Episode Three's advisors object throwing mechanic was just glorified playing catch. Only downside of Episode Two was the car retrieval level.
Best Half-Life expansion coming through.

Am I missing something here?
a bit tarnished by the mere presence of randy but its still good
>episode 3
No he just wants a bunch of people to greentext that part of the post.
