Just finished this?

Who was my favorite boss, and what did I think of it

Trying too hard.

Gen was your favorite boss because you have good taste. You thought Sekiro was an alright game, but the worst souls game. Because you have good taste.

I just bought it yesterday, good ass game

owl (both versions) was your favorite boss
genichiro was your favorite character
you thought it was the 2nd best souls game, behind bloodborne

this post ends with 9

I actually didn't like Genichiro more than Owl. Owl was an insane fight, more difficult for me than Isshin. I'm talking about Hirata estate Owl.

Definitely not the worst souls game, since it played better than Bloodborne.

This user almost got it right.

Imagine how legendary Isshin would be with a stage 3 that isn't total garbage.

why was he able to use Tomoe's techniques, anyway?
wasn't that a big part of Genichiro using any ability to save Ashina?

It's funny because his stage 3 is just suicide. He just keeps stunning himself over and over. Not that stage 2 is any better though for different reasons. I'd say his first phase is still the best.

He's a literal IP thief, stealing from every discipline.

Go to the nearest hospital, you probably might have a case of amnesia

My friend died to Genichiro about 50 times. Watching him overcome him was a spectacle.

For the Glory of Ashina...

watching normies play souls games makes me feel better about being worse than Yea Forums

Was I the only person who was let down by Isshin The Sword Saint? I got my ass kicked a ton at the beginning, I'll hand him that. Then I took a nap, and I beat him on my first try without even dying a single time, muscle memory I suppose. I had a lot more trouble with Genichiro atop Ashina castle.

I haven't done Shura yet, so I've yet to see if old man Isshin will pose a tougher challenge.

Genichiro is a fag and he failed his mission. He had to have gramps come in and do it for him.

old man isshin was harder for me, but i don't know if that's because I had half the resources or what

>revived Ashina
he succeeded in his mission, just in a different way

>replies to a post talking about how isshin basically suicides
>am I the only one who was let down by him?
Really, nigga? Really?

The lightning mechanic is super shit imo which really deflates the third phase. He's solid otherwise though.

>revived Ashina
Did he? I don't recall but wasn't Ashinia pretty much fucked at the end? The clan was invaded and they're getting their ass kicked by the second half of the game.

Ishiin founded the Ashina clan and was the only reason the lands weren't constantly subjugated
>he literally revived Ashina itself

>Genichiro
>good fight
He was a jobber bitch. Easiest moveset in the entire game

Okay so what you meant is he revived Isshin then. Isshin could then have revived Ashina, except he was killed right away meaning the clan just went into the garbage bin.

The thing about SS Isshin is that he's a perfect culmination of all of the lessons the game has been trying to teach you. If you didn't find him that difficult, that just means you were paying attention in class. Tbh it's what makes him such a well-designed fight.

im just saying ishiin essentially is Ashina
it was nothing without him

I can only hope Elden Ring has the same worldbuilding as this. I feel like GRRM writing is going to dial down the Shintoism themes present on all the Miyazaki games.

He was easy, but he was fun.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

DARK RING

Your favorite fight was Owl (Father) because it really forced you to go on the offensive and it felt like a real Shinobi fight where everything, no matter how unfair, should be used if it means achieving victory. You think it was a great game but can't help but feel it was lacking in enemy and environment variety and you're not a fan of the Japanese setting.

So wrong and yet so right

You thought that the last boss was bullshit
and that the game and all subsequent playthroughs become literally baby mode once you beat him.

Shura Isshin was harder for me because I still don't know how to counter the floor is lava thing. And he got some sick dodge moves that can caught you by surprise.

Bingo!

How was the last boss bullshit?

I struggled for a week with Owl (father) before even attempting SS Isshin and when i finally got to him i beat him on my second try because all my Owl grinding had made me actually good.

>fighting Owl 1
>he falls to his knees and begs you to stop

Be honest. Did you fall for it?

That's my opinion obviously, but i'm curious about yours, what am i wrong/right in?

lol I play with japanese voice so I have no idea what he said and just keep attacking.

he isnt writing anything in the actual game
he wrote the mythology

I beat the SS Isshin a few weeks, but haven't started NG+ yet. Can someone please tell me how the bead chains work? I missed a full 4 beads, am i gonna have to kill every boss again in the second run if i want that trophy?
Coolest boss was Lady Butterfly, that was the moment i knew the game was truly something memorable. Genichiro and Owl were the hardest; Ape Guardian was piss easy - no idea how people got stuck there.

too easy

I lunge stabbed him after a few seconds when I realized he was going to begin his second phase, then just as my sword was about to pierce him, he leaped backwards.

I still can't tell if he times the leap to await your attack, or if I just happened to attack him at just the right moment to add to the dramatic effect.

just go find the other beads if you want the trophy, resets every run

pretty sure i'm fucked then. i think at least 2 of them are in the 2nd memory area, which i didnt know existed and have to visit before a certain point in the game.
thats a real fucking downer, but the game is honestly worth putting in the effort to platinum. eventually.

How is too easy "bullshit"?

You can still revisit that area retard

You don't have to beat every boss again to get that trophy. You probably missed Owl 2nd, Double Ape, and Emma/Isshin.

>mfw I've been filtered by rape ape
I've never really considered myself pro at these From games but I certainly wasn't a shitter. I found all the Soulsborne games a cake walk and only found certain bosses like orphan or nameless king a bit tough but they were beaten within a reasonable time. I've been stuck on this fucking ape for 3 days straight. What the hell I'm I doing wrong in this game, what's not clicking for me in this fight?

Ape is less deflecting, more running and jumping. There is a combo that you need to deflect though. It's a long combo with a big slam at the end, which leaves the ape open.

Firecrackers are good against him, the spear is good for punishing the slam.

I missed 2nd Owl and Emma/isshin. I'll look into how to find them and scan the list for the other two i missed, thanks senpai

Each person seems to get stuck on a different boss, don't worry about it and keep trying. I was stuck on Shirafuji (wasn't supposed to be there for a long time, tho), Genichiro, and the last optional boss for about a week each; final boss took almost 2

I agree with this except for the cheese firecrackers, but then again, I just dislike this sort of stuff. The ape fight is a lot of movement, positioning and control. You can really only parry the one overhead slam that looks REALLY obvious which then breaks his mind for a good 5 seconds.
