Oceania scene has had a revival over the last year and a lot of its players are leveling up. We'll have to see how they stack up against the longtime Japan locals.

Sounds like something is holding up the physical delivery. Skybound sent an e-mail to people who pre-ordered, saying they'll get a digital key first, which will probably be 6 weeks before whenever the items will be scheduled to ship. They're projecting that delivery for end of summer, which means they must be expecting to release the port digitally sometime in July.
To recap, the port is already done, and has been demo'd on the floor at PAX and Combo Breaker this year. LabZero wasn't working on the port. Switch runs the game at 60fps and what's been described as PS3 loading times. Joycons are a bad controller option for FG's, so try to find something with a better D-Pad. Some other animations from Mobile not in the current versions are reportedly in the game.
