fat if you plan on playing downloaded games off a harddrive. Otherwise slim is fine and less prone to failure simply due to there being less parts that can break.

Currently I use a slim (39001 model), but may move to a fat at some point.
Fat models have shitty disk drives that wear out, but there are a few games I can't play on my slim. I'll probably just use the slim and have a fat around for a backup if I play a game that doesn't work on slim, since I need a PSX around anyway for imports and the major drawback outside of the ~12 ps2 games that don't work on the slim is the iffy PSX game support. May as well save the space since I have like a dozen consoles hooked up to the TV.

They are like 20$, just buy one you tard.
If you need to line doubler/upscaler grab an OSSC for like 200$ and you're set until HDMI is replaced as a standard (aka decades).
