Even more soul
Holy fuck i can't handle all this SOUL
I love the trio but 1 is the best, soul in it's purest form, from the music to the graphics, truly timeless
What happened to all the soul, bros?
Ape Escape back when?
1 is souller than 2.
I stole it
>Ape Escape 4:
>The professor's new time travel tech has been stolen by Spector! You have to recover it.
>The monkeys and the player character have time control powers like stop, rewind, king crimson, slowing time, etc, used for puzzles as well as combat and platforming
Would you play it?
Only if there's a Blinx reference/cameo
Baser
That's an Xbox character
>tfw you'll never relive the moment you used the analog sticks in Ape Escape for the first time
They'd parody or reference Blinx, Braid, JoJo, Back to the Future, Super Hot, PoP Sands of Time, Groundhog Day, and the 500 Million Years Button. There'd also be levels where the graphics get reverted back to the PS1/PS2 games.
Another Ape Escape thread is about to die. Time to initiate the CiS protocol
This is my favorite image. It speaks to me in some deep and meaningful way.
Okay
I kind of want Ape Escape 4 to center itself around game parodies like how AE3 is about movie parodies, but man I hate attempts like Matt Hazard and the Simpsons game. I don't know if it's possible to execute the concept well.
What if it was about the apes invading other PlayStation first party titles?
Sony's 1st party titles don't really have iconic settings to set them apart and make interesting levels.
They have the variety, just not star power
If Sony actually bothered to remind people they have more than just movie games, maybe the idea wouldn't be so bad
I want a remaster trilogy so fucking bad bros
>A yellow shorts slaps kratos to the ground
>PAL Ape Escape
>soul
Yeah sure thing Buzz
>he doesn't know about the Ape Escape 4 teaser last week
Got the itch to play through ape eacape on my vita last month. I really love the concept of a collectathon where the collectibles fight back
>it's a VR game
If anything it'll be a trilogy remaster, Sony doesn't make new games anymore
The way the coin pickups multiply if you combo picking them up is also very cool
If they do make a 4th one I just wamt them to add an option to manually leave the level after I've caught the required amount of apes. I hate getting forced out.
>Sony doesn't make new games anymore
?
You retarded?
No, I'm just confused by where you're coming from when you say things that are objectively not correct like that. Did you mean not enough cartoony stuff?
Locoroco, Patapon, Astro bot cross over would be great. I am still wondering why there wasn't a ape escape easter egg in Astrobot if they are teasing a new game.
I mean what I said, no new games. It's either remasters of old games or non-game movie faggotry. The argument is always made that these remasters will lead to new games in the series down the line, but that has yet to happen.
What's a "non-game movie"?
Why bother user?
I want to bump the thread. I know there's no changing these retards' minds that every game they haven't played = Dragon's Lair
Games that are made to imitate the structure and interactivity of movies. Ever seen a movie before?
To what degree do you mean? At some point nearly all games imitate a movie's interaction if there's a cutscene.
The interactivity is a movie is only visual you dipshit. Here for your use
>more soul than 1
>no Soichi Terada
the US dub is the definition of souless and only nostalgia can tell you otherwise
There's a point where the need to be a movie jeopardizes the gameplay, and Sony has long since crossed that point.
Exactly, there's no interesting gameplay, it's all a visual circle-jerk, like a movie. Thank you for agreeing with me.
same. with all the teases they've been doing lately, the urge to replay them has fired up
What do you mean? Can you please elaborate? You're being too vague.
Good game: gameplay >= cinematics
Sony game: gameplay
Yumi is cute and funny
Can you expand on what you mean?
Jake's Nake and Fake (formerly Buzz's)
Sorry, I don't have any alphabet fridge magnets to bring the conversation down to your level of comprehension. If your next response does not contain some form of argument to the contrary of my statements, it will be considered as an apology from you, which I will gladly accept.
I can never tell whether or not Yea Forums loves this game ironically but fuck that Ape Escape is the king of soul
I want Ape Escape 4 ;-;
>releases "remasters" of AE1 soundtrack
>they sound like shit
Wouldn't be surprised if this got the remake treatment after
- Crash Bandicoot (and CTR)
- Spyro
- MediEvil
Seems like the next logical one to do
I see what they're trying to say.
They're saying that Sony games are more spectacle than substance and feels more like you're playing a movie rather than a game. Just a lot of QTE or Dialog Trees and maybe a taste of gameplay every now and then. Other than that, not much. Much more effort is put into its visuals.
I would've hopped on them myself if I hadn't just 100% them all a few months ago. Can still listen to the music though

I can't argue against nothing. You have to at least try to say something like "Sony game [x] is movie-like because of [y] and [z]".
It's easy to assume this if you haven't played any of them. Games like Uncharted 4 and God of War 2018 have the least amount of QTEs in their series and no dialogues trees at all, so what are you talking about?
Ape Escape's never been as popular as those, I think. It's always felt really niche and only cared about in japan. That's what worries me.
Name a more kino level than Specter Land. you can’t
Really? I always thought it was quite popular in the west, at least as much as MediEvil anyway. I could be wrong, but I always just assumed
Being an Ape Escape thread, post your favorite:

And least favorite shit too.

>You have to at least try to say something like "Sony game [x] is movie-like because of [y] and [z]".
I said that multiple times, you refuse to acknowledge it because you can't refute it.
>the least amount of QTEs in their series and no dialogues trees at all
QTEs and dialogue trees are not the sole attributes of movie games, and they can even contribute to interesting gameplay if utilized properly (Asura's Wrath, Fallout: New Vegas). Recent Sony games are movie games because they have no solid/interesting gameplay backbone for these tropes to supplement. The majority of those games are spent regurgitating story at you either through cutscenes or slow scripted "gameplay" sequences, there's nothing fun or interesting to see or do, you just have to sit and listen. And once you've listened enough, the game will maybe reward you with a short gameplay sequence where you get to hide behind cover and shoot a few guys or beat up a few enemies. They prioritize being a movie first, and a game second, and for that they're irredeemable garbage.
what are you talking about? Originape Soundtracks is great
some tracks have questionable differences like the lack of piano melody in primordial ooze
Gravity Rush crossover when?
What the fuck happened to sony?
Ah ok, I can see what you mean. Personally I really like how smooth a listen it is especially considering how each track goes into the next one.
Peak Point Matrix best song
how did this even work
they became a money laundering front for their parent company
Spike does half the work by spinning it like a baton
Wait till the year 2500
Is that the year AE takes place?
Ape Escape 1 is about time travel. It takes place in many years.
>Recent Sony games are movie games because they have no solid/interesting gameplay backbone
I dunno I found the axe from god of war pretty dang fun. It made me think "damn why hasn't Kamiya thought of something like this".
