There are still people who legitimately think Arthas was in the wrong here

>there are still people who legitimately think Arthas was in the wrong here
is it just contrarianism, or retardation?

WoW painted him as Hitler the moment he purged.

Honestly to me it's a massive plot hole that blizzard included because they're social justice hacks and needed a reason to make the white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes the villian. Arthas literally did nothing wrong, the people he killed would have been begging to be killed given time for the disease to run its course.

the text book definition of dindu nuffin

The fact that there's discussion about it means it's at least in the gray area of morality.

Attached: 1559448266633.png (433x268, 163K)

careful with that definition. I can argue with you about the morality of just about any possible given action. given that, the sum total of human experience falls into a moral grey area

>Culling Stratholme was a right thing to do
>Going after Mal'Ganis because "m-muh vengance!" was not
Prove me wrong

It was a bad thing but it was the right choice. The choice was forced on him by the legion
Just like the camps, everyone always seems to argue the camps were 100% evil or 100% altruistic when it was simply the best of a bad situation.

The right thing to do would be to quarantine them and let them live out the remainder of their lives and make their own choice as to whether want to euthanize themselves

All the townsfolk turned into undead. He did the right thing.

How the fuck can anyone expect Uther to just shut up and commit genocide on command, with no explanation? On innocent civilians of his own country. Regardless of it being the right choice or not, you can't blame Uther for refusing it in that situation. There was no context for him to accept.

Furthermore, what was the point of disbanding the Knights of the Silver Hand? Arthas could have easily just sent everyone not on board home, but Arthas goes the extra step of shitting on a decades-old institution just because he was throwing a hissy fit.

and nobody would ever be correct
eventually maybe somebody would agree
or a group of people would agree against a persons morality but how is that not mob mentality hmmm.jpg

>guy argues that something was grey area
>threaten to argue that everything is grey area
Wow you sure showed him. Fucking nihilists.

Attached: 1530326310222.jpg (640x640, 47K)

Uther disoayed his future king and broke an oath uther prime figure in silver knights
uther respects arthas but morraly breaks an oath thats death penlty tier
arthas sees him as a traitor to his future king but still vastly repects him ie no death penalty
but a traitor cannot have a legion of knights at his back
>muhh muhh context
>u actualy had the context for that
>muuhh u cant spell]
>well observed shame you missed the cut-scene

>Arthas was right
Not really because the end result was the same. All the people that were killed ended up as Scourge fodder one way or another, and the city was lost to the Cult of the Damned who then proceeded to use it as a major bastion of power. It would be the primary base of operations in the area up until Naxxramas was constructed.

there's nothing nihilistic about what I wrote, dummy. I'm not nihilistic. I'm not claiming that everything *is* in a grey area. I'm just pointing out that if your definition of "moral grey area" is "people discuss the morality of it", then your definition of moral grey area is one that applies to basically everything.

The correct answer and what a paladin should've done, or at least quarantine them while searching for a treatment

Mal'Ganis was a terrorist and a threat to the State of Lordaeron. Chasing him to the ends of the Earth (sic) was only justified and in accord with the constitution of the Human Kingdoms. Any sane American would've done the same.

>because they're social justice hacks and needed a reason to make the white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes the villian.
have sex, holy shit.

>Blockage the city
>Kill Malganis until you can bring reinforcements in

>he people he killed would have been begging to be killed given time for the disease to run its course.
no, it's even worse, in the war 3 campaign the culling consist in destroying houses, when you destroy them, a pack of undead spawn from it.
Not only he did nothing wrong, but even if he wanted, he was already too late, thus Uther IS in the wrong with jaina

>broke an oath
Uther was paladin at heart and refuse to slaughter civilians. Even if Arthas was a king he probably would follow the same path. A true specimen of justice.

>There's no other way, Uther, I will manually destroy those city blocks with my hammer
How did blizzard get away with it?

>Doesn't want to kill the guy who forced you to become a monster
Cuck.

they were turning into zombies right then, even if there was a treatment they didn't have time to look.

what game?

heavily disappointed in this game. it just looks so fucking stupid. started this goddamn WoW artstyle that infected every single release and is STILL infecting every art department. FUCK WARCRAFT.

I think that's dawn of war, an old PC RTS classic. serious street cred to anyone who remembers playing that one.

star craft: empire at war

It might have been the right thing to do, but it wasn't the paladin thing to do. Also he didn't even try to explain the situation to Uther.

Looks like an old Total War game

>we need to kill literally everybody!
>what the hell? Relax boy lets think about this. with my experience and resources we're sure to figure something out
>NO! FUCK YOU! MY DAD IS THE PRESIDENT OF NINTENDO DO AS I SAY YOU OLD BITCH OR I'LL HAVE YOU BANNED!
>shove it up your ass retard, im out of here.
>YOURE BBBAAAANNNNNEEEDDD!

really the tragic hero over here.

Arthas: Glad you could make it, Uther.
Uther: Watch your tone with me, boy. You may be the prince, but I'm still your superior as a paladin.
Arthas: As if I could forget. Listen, Uther, there's something about Yea Forums you should know. Oh no. It's too late. These people have all been infected. They may look fine now, but it's a matter of time before they turn into incels.
Uther: What?
Arthas: This entire board must have sex.
Uther: How can you even consider that? There's got to be some other way
Arthas: Damn it, Uther. As your future king, I order you to have sex.
Uther: You are not my king yet, boy. Nor would I obey that command if you were!
Arthas: Then I must consider this an act of treason.
Uther: Treason? Have you lost your mind, Arthas?
Arthas: Have I? Lord Uther, by my right of succession and sovereignity of my crown, I hereby relieve you from your command and suspend your paladins from service.
Jaina: Arthas, you can't just...
Arthas: It's done! Those of you who have the will to save this land, follow me. The rest of you... kys.
Uther: You've just crossed a terrible threshold, Arthas.
Arthas: Jaina?
Jaina: I'm sorry, Arthas. I can't watch you do this.

Based

>those people are as good as zombies and must therefore be treated as an enemy, I have personally gathered the intelligence that confirms the situation
>NUH UH WE WUZ PALADINS WE DUN NUT KILL PEEPL
>Uther, this is war time and you're disobeying the chain of command based on your personal feelings, I'm afraid I will have to remove you from command as your actions might endanger our efforts
>I DON'T CARE ABOUT ORDERS, FUCK ORDERS, YOU DON'T RUN MY LIFE, WE WUZ PAAAALADINS, I'M GONNA TELL ON YOU TO YOUR DAAAAAD

what a war hero, a true veteran of the war

>Also he didn't even try to explain the situation to Uther.

watch the cutscene again

Uther: Glad I could make it, Arthas.
Arthas: I watch my tone with you, old man. I may be the prince, but you're still my superior as a paladin.
Uther: As if you could forget. Yes Arthas, there's something about the plague I should know. ...Oh no, it's already begun. These people may look fine now, but it's only a matter of time before they turn into the Undead!
Arthas: What?!
Uther: This entire city must be purged.
Arthas: How can I even consider that? There's got to be some other way.
Uther: Damn it, Arthas! As my future king, order me to purge this city!
Arthas: I am not your king yet, old man. Nor should you obey that command even if I were.
Uther: Then you must consider this an act of treason.
Arthas: Treason?! Have I lost my mind, Uther?
Uther: Have you? Prince Arthas, by right of succession and the sovereignty of your crown, you must hereby relieve me of my command, and suspend my paladins from service.
Jaina: Uther! He can't just--
Uther: It's done! Those of you who have the will to save this land, follow him. The rest of you... get out of his sight.
Arthas: I've just crossed a terrible threshold, Uther.
Jaina: ...Arthas?
Arthas: I'm sorry, Jaina. You can't watch me do this.

Purging Stratholme was justified.
Burning the ships wasn't.

This made my head hurt...
