Anyone else tired of vidya overall? New ones aren't as good and are expensive. Why not play the retro ones? The old ones are less good than you remember ya know? Why are we even playing vidya anymore?

Yea Forums is a massive landfill - a dumping ground - for all the most negative opinions about gaming. Take it with a pinch of salt or sink
get a job
but I have one user.
Yea Forums didn't make me feel this way user, it's true.
take a break. my PC was old and my graphics card finally died. i didn't bother replacing it since i was bored with vidya. then after 2 weeks i got the desire to play again. i couldn't even wait to order parts for a new PC, i just went to best buy and bought a pre-built
when I’m playing vidya ALONE I feel like I’m wasting my time like I turn on the game play then it’s like
where’d all that time go?
if I’m playing with my friends irl it feels as fun as ever
I play Nintendo games, which are still developed with fun in mind.
I’m absolutely fine and have a mountain of vidya I wanna play. My issue is I have nowhere near the amount of time I want/need
probably this. I am actually working on finished my steam library, with maybe 15 games left. I estimate at my current rate that will be before Christmas. I usually stop at christmas to spend time with my family so maybe I will extend that into the new year. thanks user.
probs this. I am sick of the stuff I am playing desu.
wanna swap?
I play video games because I have no realistic hopes or dreams for the future and they are the one thing I can relatively enjoy
looking for sleeper hit games made me love gaming again, it's also fun talking about a game's lore in the few Yea Forums threads following a release
play furi, its a good game
When I first saw it I legit thought that the main guy was sniper from tf2 after some remodeling.
kino soundtrack tho
tfw vidya will never hit the same emotional highs as they did in the old days
I'm 22 and getting tired of games but it's because i take medication mostly
used to be a vidya addict and enjoyed every minute of it
this. the term "relatively enjoy" also resonated with me.
THIS, the reason I made my thread.
There are so many good games coming out on a monthly basis it's almost overwhelming, you just sound like a faggot
"AAA" games in the older days had at least more thought and heart put into them. They're all sterile and devoid of imagination now. The Soul meme has some substance to it.
Amateur devs and indies make far more lively and creative games these days its mindboggling.
>good games every month
which ones? so many of them are too short or too shallow or require too much time if they deep to invest. I haven't seen any I am excited about.
Btw, OP, try going back a generation. You might've overlooked some decent games you could consider playing. I have yet to even consider buying a current gen console or even consider a next-gen console for that matter. Everything in this current generation has to offer looks like a rerun so far.
The Outer Wilds is one of the best games I've ever played and it came out this month
Yeah. I still like the older games but I've played them to death. Modern games are way more concerned with wasting your time than actually being fun, I can't be bothered with open world skinner box after skinner box. After being disappointed with Kindgom Hearts 3 I actually haven't played a video game since then.
its why im stuck in a time capsule playing the same shit that is years-decades old, occasionally something refreshes my interest in gaming but lately, its just been a fucking slog/letdown.
The Golden Age is over, and it feels like silver age has died aswell.
probs yeah. I haven't tried too many newer games at all recently. wanted to maybe try rimworld soon after that crackin Sseth review. I got Stardew Valley recently and that was pretty comfy so maybe indie is the best way to go.
this I might do actually. I have such a steam backlog I am trying to get through though, and each time I open the client I cringe at the money I spent on that shit. I promised to buy nothing more till I got through the 15 or so I have left.
are you me?
spot on user, there really are times where things were better. I used to get laughed at by friends who thought I was some snob for claiming that the last good music came out in the 80s. All of them moral relativists and consumerists that couldn't wait for the next cheap or cynical shit to come along, it was good so long as it was edgy or transgressive. Things do decay though.
AAA games did in the old days have heart put into them, because it was a time when games were made by gamers for gamers. Suits have invaded and Money over substance has been prioritized (Not that there wasn't blatant cash grabs in the past, but now it feels like that's all there is).
If a game does not meet a certain profit margin when dealing with "Publishers" then it is axed, developers, to stop this have ended up manufacturing their games in a way that either entails mass market appeal or psychological tactics to keep their plays hooked and funding them after the initial purchase.
Indie devs at the moment seem the way to go, but with the amount of them developing there is a wide range of issues that can arise when dealing with them, such as games falling to either the curse of early access or outright shitty games.
Any hobby would get boring if you spent a disproportionate amount of time on it. Find some other interests beside vidya, user.
this is me right now
I think we will see a tonne of talented devs go and found their own companies soon, like we are now but 100x over.
