Everyone agrees that the game looks absolutely disgusting (see , ) and that it's an inferior offering in the genre compared to other titles like Hollow Knight. Add to that how the Switch version, the most important one, was delayed and ended being poorly made.

Protip: unreal engine isn't some kind of divine arrtifact that takes a game and makes it look good or run good with great graphics.
Even setting developer incompetence aside, look at Yoshi's Crafted World, made in UE4 looks much worse than what Nintendo develops with their in-house engines.

Saything that the games graphics are bad is one thing, but saying that they universally agree that the game is mediocre is retarded.

M2 made the Rebirth games on the Wii, including Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth. Konami had them make the recent Anniversary ports for Castlevania, Contra, and some of their arcade games.
They could always just ask M2 to make another Castlevania game.
