No, its collapse is very clearly outlined within the game. ADAM was just a tool, not the root cause. The root was that objectivist philosophy entirely requires that A. All people participating do so in good faith and B. The "losers" accept the dominion of the winners and don't just seek other means to undermine them. So it's basically untenable when applied to real people. Ryan was only happy with it when he was on top, and once he fell behind he ignored the laws he'd forced everyone else to play by, sparking the unrest that Fontaine blew into a social revolution. No magic goo required, most of the main actors didn't even use ADAM.

Except the magic goo's discovery and application only happened through unchecked scientific research that broke all sense of ethics. Only possible in the unique situation that rapture was in by Ryan's design.
It's a plot element, not the plot itself, can't just discard the whole story because of it, especially since we're discussing a fantasy game.

Just because Bioshock is heavier on the shooting and Prey is heavier on the RPG elements doesn't mean the games are dissimilar, dude. They're both FPS/RPG hybrids but with different ratios of those two ingredients. That coupled with everything else I've listed definitely makes these games similar.

The games never suggested any of that. You're thinking in far too simplistic political terms. Rapture worked for 10 years just fine under Ryan's original principles, and only started failing when Ryan violated his capitalistic ideals. Fontaine came to power by smuggling, which is only possible if there are illegal goods/services to smuggle. McDonagh affirms at one point that when Ryan nationalized Fontaine Futurisitics he guaranteed war.
The point of the games is that any time people adopt absolute utopian worldviews that align with ANY political spectrum. They make their models into their only guiding principle. Call it ideological blindness, or closed-mindedness, if you prefer. But that's what Levine was criticizing.
It's the same in SS2. The issue isn't that community or independence (The Many vs. SHODAN) are inherently bad. But they've become something terrible in their own rights by ignoring all else and setting up this single thing as their false god.

That's the problem, Infinite doesnt really say anything about anything. Say what you will about Bioshock but at least it had a thesis and explored the issue from a lot of angles (What would a purely Objectivist society look like? What are the pros and cons? What would eventually cause its downfall?). Infinite doesnt do any of that. It kinda hints at it in the very first level that it might do something similar with a hyper-conservative religious theocracy built around American mythology but other than the simple Disney land carnival ride you go through in the beginning (Oh, it looks nice and friendly but it sucks for black people!) the topic is barely ever addressed outside of using it for iconography. It's all surface level visual stuff, like Finkton. Finkton doesnt really make a point, it's just Sinclair's The Jungle but with more over the top steampunk crap. It's not saying anything that wasnt said a 100+ years ago in more depth. And then the dimension hopping starts and completely bungles the revolution plotline by firmly insisting that since ANYTHING can happen nothing really matters and it all falls apart. Any lesson, observation, or moral is completely lost in the effort to make things completely focused on Booker and Elizabeth.
The DLCs were better but they were strictly character focused and benefitted heavily on getting to ride the coattails of Bioshock 1 and 2.

What the fuck kind of argument is this? The game establishes a pretty clear-cut way of determining what is extremist and what isn't by being set in a time period whose political climate is still well known to this day. In a vaccum, yes, you can say it's completely relative, but Bioshock and many other political arguments have a context that gives you ways to better gauge how in the extreme something lies in more absolute terms. You say it yourself:

Bioshock is fortunately pretty friendly when it comes to plotting out the backstory, all the audio logs you find happen in roughly chronological order in regards to the topic/character they are about.
