fuck that shit scared me good at least twice

Mommy Meridia is the best Prince.

Tired as fuck of it.

Because I can't be fucked to spend 10 hours modding it again just for it to be ok

I wish I could forget everything about it, so that I could relive those 2k hours on it. I just can't do it anymore, I remember every character, every quest and every location of the game.

There are better open world games and I've long since exhausted worthwhile content nor am I willing to mod it more.

Because it hurts ole toddos feelings that they did not monetize it better.

because it's garbage

Because it sucks

every questline is too short and the scaling quest rewards are a way of telling the player that he is shit while NPCs scale ad infinitum with their low level weapons and armor

i seriously was gonna re-dl from a pirate site on PC earlier tonight but said fuck it because i still have it on an x360 thats still hooked up to my tv. convince me to dl the SE pc version on a 980 plz. i dont need to lose another 300+ hours in my early 30's.

i already modded the shit out of it and got tired of making hot girls getting fucked by horses.
in briefly did the same for hot guys but wasn't the same.

Continuing my last-year save atm, playing Project AHO; gonna continue with Carved Brink

Hopefully this winter we'll get Apotheosis as well.

I am actually. I'm playing it in PSVR.

The scale of the world is pretty cool in this.

I've been playing it on Switch. It's a genuinely good port, and it's a good game for a portable system. Appearently you can mod it on Switch too, but you can only have about 9-10 mods installed, and you need to hack the Switch first. I just want to mod it with some basic stuff, like whips or something, or more magic

I want to finish this current Morrowind playthrough before I give it another one.
Probably my most played series if you don't count the thousands of hours I have in FFXIV.

i'm unironically tempted to replay it. on release i played it on console cus i was close to broke and couldn't do better. is there a list of recommended / essential mods?

I want to FUCK Meridia

tesgeneral.com/essential-se

I thought that quest was okay.

What's wrong with it

I never know which version to play. I just want a vanilla experience with bugfixes and some QoL improvements, as well as something to make melee combat more interesting, like tktk's dodge mod.

Attached: 1551538881209.png (788x872, 1.23M)

I'm waiting for Apotheosis, Glenmoril, Inigo 3.0 and maybe Lordbound to come out first.

Play Enderal.

because every fucking daedra deserves to be clapped until they whimper and azura should get a fucking whipping that stupid bitch

Because it gets boring around 10 - 15 hours. On every playthroughs.
I'm just waiting for a little longer to forget that I did got bored with Skyrim. Then the cycle will begins anew.

Okay first of all
>Playing any elder scrolls on console
Second, skyrim is dirt cheap on consoles, just get a new one.

The water looks better. That's about it.

It's more how the quest starts, with finding it in a random chest and getting the A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON. Quest itself is alright, and you get a decent sword at the end.

user PUT THE FUCKING BOW DOWN
YOU SAID YOU WERE MAKING A BARBARIAN THIS TIME

>already decided my next character is going to be a default class Scout from Morrowind/Oblivion
whoops

I do actually. Tried out the SkyRe. Magic is fucking broken in this mod.

>2019
>playing skyrim unmodded

come on son, vanilla perk trees are trash. Go get yourself ordinator+apocalypse and then try to tell me a mage build isn't fun and varied.
But I do remember playing skyrim at launch and wanting to spec into a battlemage, and then being completely disappointed when all destruction magic was "red pewpew, blue pewpew, or purple pewpew" and they were all weak as fuck, used way too much magicka unless you used enchantments to get cost to zero, and even then it was still only viable if you used the dual-wield stunlock tactic, which was boring and tedious as fuck.

Clout ruler temple

>want to replay oblivion since i never got around to play the dlc
>just don't have the will to mod it
I wish there would be some complete package to download or something.

Last time I played I made a conjurer character that wasn't allowed to carry any weapons, got the idea from wheel of time

Shit was fun.

the reason stealth-archer is such a meme is because melee combat in skyrim is absolutely terrible, and destruction magic is completely nerfed to shit for no reason (presumably as some sort of attempt to make up for oblivion, IDK). And stealth is desired because of how clunky the combat/animations/etc are, so killing everyone not openly but by stealth at least allows you to bypass a bit of the problem, sort of like how in FO3/NV VATS is used to compensate for how terrible the combat is.

That said my go-to is illusion magick +/- conjuration. Frenzying all the barbarians, spawning a flame atronach, and then sneaking up behind the final enemy with poisoned daggers

I want to play Morrowind but the combat is putting me to sleep. Is it possible to fix this?

>fucking with a man's children
>"DADDY, THAT FAT SMELLY MAN THAT LIVES WITH HIS MOM GAVE ME ROCKS COVERED IN CHOCOLATE AND I BROKE MY TOOTH ON IT"

Enjoy getting murdered by a raging dad just because you didn't see a shitty walmart mask with a black sheet, ya dumbfuck spiteful autist

People like this honestly deserve to be beaten to an inch of their worthless life

Because I played too much already and am too lazy to mod it enough for it to feel different.

bruh that kid's gonna have to go on a quest to stop a necromantic ritual if he gets this shit

> illusion magick +/- conjuration. Frenzying all the barbarians, spawning a flame atronach, and then sneaking up behind the final enemy with poisoned daggers
Kek I actually did it and it sucked. There's basically no gameplay left with that build. You just sit there and wait when game plays itself. I had more fun just fucking up everyone with two handed weapons.

Someone post the races list with the description

>want to play higher difficulty
>can't survive without conjuration
I feel like trash for sucking at a Bethesda game

>a bunch of pixels on a computer screen is going to break a kids tooth

In vanilla, sure. It's a lot more interesting with mods like apocaylpse, where you can do shit like take control over an NPCs mind and then steer them yourself against their comrades.

>remove unofficial patch
>enchant gear with fortify alchemy
>drink fortify restoration potion
>unequip/reequip gear
>make and drink fortify restoration potion
>repeat as desired (300% -> 750% -> 13,000% -> 250,000%, etc).
>make several fortify enchanting potions
>also fortify [school] potions if your a wizard
Have fun with 600k hp and 1M hp/s hp regen, etc.

one thing I noticed when playing SkyrimVR was that I found myself looking at the ceilings of buildings more, so strange how I never thought to do that in the pancake version

>unofficial patch breaks the serial killer quest in Windhelm
>Cant check the house for clues
>Have to disable the unofficial patch to fix it

How the fuck.

I need more content.

You know at that point you might as well just give yourself a 10,000 damage sword via console commands or something
Both are still cheating, one's just more honest about it.

Attached: 1561120072060.png (1080x1331, 619K)

I probably would if quest mods were any good.
I don't know why they don't do it for me. It's like that with all of these games. It's not like the original content is that inspired or anything.

What's the mechanical explanation for why Fortify Restoration potions somehow improve your enchanting/alchemy? The alchemy-to-enchantment-to-alchemy loop makes sense, but I never understsood this one.

Also it's bullshit how the unofficial patch """"fixes"""" things like the Necromage perk for vampires. That's literally the only decent thing about being a vampire in Skyrim, and they took it away. So with the unofficial patch, the only way to make being a vampire desirable is if you get yet another mod like Sacrosanct to overhaul vampires completely.

>I don't know why they don't do it for me.
Because they're basically all "go clear out this draugr dungeon and report back to me" fetchquests.
And then the few times they do something interesting and different (Blood on the Ice, Forsworn Conspiracy, Cidhna Mine) the quests are buggy as fuck and you're lucky to be able to complete them without breaking the fucking quest, because Bethesda are shit-tier programmers and their scripting is ass.

Why couldnt you have a fighters guild and werewolf special clan at the same time. Skyrin would be full of mercs and yiffers can still have their special quests. WHY TODD?

Lmao. This would make an excellent mod.

I am more pissed off about how the main quest pushes the player into becoming a filthy thief.

It's mindboggling how enchanting on level 100 only gives you like 25% on fortify crafting enchantments, 40% on fortify melee/archery and about 60 points on either health/magicka ect. You find stronger amulets/robes just grinding caves.

"Fortify" has always been a Restoration skill, I think it's very easy to see the connection except when it comes to the equipment that then somehow scales with the restoration you have.

>Complete it on console
>Get it for PC
>Never complete it because the fucking mods kept crashing the game
Why bother?

Attached: 5FCDE4B0-7F3D-4A66-B8AC-A568A9815DF2.jpg (479x590, 20K)

>You know at that point you might as well just give yourself a 10,000 damage sword via console commands or something
That's not possible so far as I'm aware. The difference though is one uses in-game systems to go absurd (positive potion effects fall under the restoration school, hence their buff from fort resto) and the other is just admin'ing yourself to godhood.

Which kinda fits TES, I'll admit.

Thanks to Bethesda programming, all positive potion effects fall under the restoration school. Hence, fortifying restoration also improves potion effects. It has nothing to do with the enchantments in particular, but unequipping/reequipping repplies their effect (you get a massive boost even without the gear). So drink a fort resto to jump up a lot, then reapply your enchantments to multiply it.

The unofficial patch "fixes" this bug by making potion effects no longer fall under the resto school.

user OUT THE FUCKING MODS DOWN, YOU SAID YOU WERE ACTUALLY GOING TO PLAY THIS TIME NOT SPEND 5 HOURS INSTALLING MODS AND NOT PLAYING.

Why are you obsessed with furries and yiffing? Is there something you want to tell us?

The equipment bonus only applies when you equip it, so the boost from the potion is unaffected by your gear until you reequip it.

>tfw never done stealth archery
The only thing I use stealth for in Skyrim is stealing everything out of a person's house while they're in it.
Like a real man.

>mods kept crashing the game
git gud

Good, keep it that way. Once you try it, there is no going back.

So does this also mean that alchemy builds in vanilla skyrim were totally cucked if they didn't also focus on restoration?

This honestly

This right here is the fundamental problem with skyrim's leveling mechanics. It incentivizes players to STOP USING their main skills when they've leveled them up. And then when the next set of skills they decide to use also get leveled up, it's on to the next set of skills, etc etc until you've got everything maxed. The game's mechanics coerce all players into just becoming jack-of-all-trades builds, and everything just becomes the same after once you get to the midgame levels.

And for all the gameplay rebalance mods I've seen, I've never seen one that actually fixes this problem.

No. Alchemy is plenty strong without fortify restoration potions infinitely fortifying their own effects (+ the effects of all the other potions).

Without even touching that infinite loop, you could experience another by making a fort enchanting potion, using that to make stronger fort alch enchantments, use that for stronger fort enchanting potions, etc, but that one has quick diminishing returns so it doesn't go oo crazy.

Finally, skipping any sort of loop and enchanting entirely, alchemy is plenty strong by itself. Basic fortify smithing potions offer huge boosts to tempering, fortify school potions make the damage of your spells late-game viable, and you can have a lot of fun with the usual shennanigans like making potions that both heal you and make you invisible, or one that buffs your max hp, heals you, and also increases hp regen all at the same time.

The loops only make a good thing better.

A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BOSOM

Dropping classes was a mistake

>Assassins Blade + Shrouded Gloves
>30x the damage with daggers
>could go beyond 30x if combined with Berserker Rage

Attached: rogue.jpg (636x636, 27K)

>jack-of-all-trades builds
Worse, master-of-all-trades builds.

you can reset your maxed skills and get all your perk points spent in that skill back, the reset sets you back to (30)?, mostly useful for weapon/magic resets, never reset armor/smithing

You can do that if you buy dlc.

Tod Howard is forcing me to play this as I type this out. Send help I don’t know how long I have left

>buying the dlc

Cuz I'm playing Morrowind at the moment.

Am currently hanging with Nords tho, in Dagon Fel heading to crawl Mzuleft.

>And for all the gameplay rebalance mods I've seen, I've never seen one that actually fixes this problem.
Because the difficulty slider already solves the problem. If you get too strong you put it on Legendary until you maxed out what you wanted.

If you find yourself getting clapped with a new skill you are trying to level because you are too inexperienced in it you can just go lower the difficulty.

>buy
there's mods that mimic the dlc, also they sell the game with all the dlc on it, legendary edition
whatever the house building dlc was, that sucked major ass, finishing any guilds main quest gave far superior rewards than finishing a house

The world is static, theres no way to roleplay, the gameplay is simple and not rewarding, the quests and writing is god awful, the graphics are vomit inducing.
Its a Bethesda game is where I am getting at.

The game is not forcing you to max out any of the other skills, you are just too pragmatic to let the experience go to waste, just have some self control.

At what? Modding games?
Listen, yeah. Half my play time on Skyrime PC is trying to get mods to work. If I wanted to drag and drop shit left and right and organise shit I'd go on Microsoft EXCEL. I play Skyrim for my fantasy mixed with Sci fi Lover's Lab Argonian/khajiit harem.
Now you're telling me I gotta look at text all day and "git gud" at placing the right text in the right order?
Actually suck 1000 echidna cocks, and 1000 more, you big fucking troggo.

Attached: 126012.jpg (620x413, 31K)

That's still a shitty work-around though.

And there doesn't even seem to be any mods that properly re-introduce the class system. Best I've seen are mods that just tweak your starting stats based on the class you pick/make. What there should be is a mod that rebalances leveling/perk attainment while also making it so ONLY your tagged skills contribute toward leveling. So you can go ahead and grind up alchemy or smithing or whatever, but crafting a bunch of shit isn't going to grant you a ton of extra levels unless that was one of your main skills.

How about instead of having a system that incentivizes boring master-of-all-trades builds, change the mechanics, since it's a fault of the game, not of the player.

>download SE version
>spend three days modding before playing
>it's still shit
How did they fuck it up so badly?

Because I'm not fucking eleven years old trying baby's first rpg.

david lunch lol

Block is the best perk tree in the game just for the slow time blocking power attack perk and the shield charge that turns enemies flying into ragdolls for a minuscule stamina cost

How does the game incentivize them? The more you level up, the more useless your skills become as the enemy scales to your level, effectively making the leather hide a bandit wears impenetrable to deadric weapons. If anything, you should choose how you level up with more care so that you can still play as you like while ignoring the "boring" parts.

Do Americans do this? Just give children chocolate without their cover paper?

You can re-wrap it you fucking mongoloid.

Yes, the chocolate kills most of the germs.

>Be me
>Playing through Skyrim for the 1000th time
>Do the golden claw quest but don't pick up the dragon stone
>TFW no dragons ever

Attached: based (2).png (465x351, 104K)

What's the point?

Because if you want to keep getting stat boosts and perks, just continuing to use your maxed-out skills does nothing to progress your character anymore.

because I'm playing Morrowind. It's sad a fan mod companion is comprehensively more well done than anything Bethesda has ever done in 20 years.

To trick children into biting into a daedric artifact.

are you fuckin new?

upvoated xD

>Want to play lewd modded Skyrim
>Computer is a potato
>All dose mods I'll probably never play
>All dat loli and big tiddes mods
Never

Yeah sure they wouldn't notice

There are mods that help deal with that, maybe not the way you would like, but make ways to get stronger without the need to level up, one of my favorites was a mod that let me make smithing and enchanting commissions so that I didn't have to bother with it while the other let me trade dragon souls or achievement points for perks or stats. There are work arounds. And I do agree that the game should better after all this time and all the feedback Bethesda has gotten, but looking at their track record things can only get worse.

Like I said though, I haven't seen any mod out there that actually fits the bill. Ideally I'd want something like

>Playing Skyrim on hardcore mode my Xbone
>Get held up by a bandit whilst out exploring
>Don't want to pay up but he has two daedric daggers
>All of a sudden a wolf comes out of fucking nowhere
>It attacks the bandit and cancels out the conversation
>Lol my ass off and 360 out of there

One of my all time favorite Skyrim moments.

Attached: 1547473031379.jpg (1200x1000, 165K)

The only essential mod is killable children but I also recommend swearing mudcrabs

Been playing stealth+dagger+werewolf. Assassination quests are real good as werewolf also it's the best form of travel.

I've been having a lot of fun with Moonlight Tales, which overhauls Lycanthropy. Ended up catching the disease because of some random encounter with a werewolf. I'm playing a squishy dickass thief who can't take a hit, but then in a pinch I'll transform and go balls to the wall like that. And also I'll end up transforming unwillingly for an extended period of time during nights of the full moon, so you have to be paranoid about that and make sure you're away from civilization

die

become skilled

I don't know why they didn't fucking put it on the table right in front of the chest
If they were worried people might not notice it they could have found ways to make it more obvious

Because every single quest for every faction is 'Go to [dungeon that loops around on itself] and get [item] at the end of it'.

In vanilla, anyway. Do any of the xpacs change this?

Attached: g3668cc.png (629x494, 21K)

I never finished the main quest because it bugged out on my pirated copy when talking to that dude in the sewers because he wouldn't open the doors
I know I could have used console commands to skip to the next part of the quest but I didn't want to miss any dialouge
In hindsight I should have tried just deleting the door

Why does that khajit look like a dog

>The only essential mod is killable children

Attached: 1510713372833.jpg (480x106, 9K)

Sorry but some of us don't like censorship

I once found the perfect combination of mods and then made a mirror of my entire Skyrim setup (mod folder, config files, enb files) so I can just copy-paste it and have all the mods working perfectly.

Attached: 1557030164692.png (358x231, 48K)

Not sure if there are mods that change the dungeon design to make them more interesting, but there certainly aren't mods that fix the overarching design of vanilla quests, because quest design, NPC dialogue, etc is really the single thing that mods can never actually fix.
Only real compensation is that there are now a multitude of quest mods that actually do a solid job giving us quests that aren't just dungeon fetchquests.

And as far as dungeon linearity, considering bethesda's incompetence, thank god they just keep them linear to make them as painless as possible. Imagine if they designed dungeons like how they designed places in Dawnguard like Forgotten Vale and Soul Cairn where you're just mindlessly wandering across a giant bland expanse without even having a true map, trying to trace over every last inch of the area to make sure you didn't miss anything. Sweet jesus that was tedious.

>download hundreds of mods
>uninstall it because I can't make an attractive character

I'm lvl 35 and it feels like I'm hitting enemies with a wet noodle wearing armour made of tissue.

I've never played a TES before what's wrong

level scaling.

Level scaling is a bitch user, just lower the difficulty, it will only get worse as you level up.

what difficulty are you doing

LOL

Attached: comic241.png (650x1368, 329K)

Furfaggot did that picture.

Last time I played, the special edition was still new and had a shitty mod selection. Have things gotten better or should I stick with oldrim

Ooh. I'm on Expert.

Download Simply Balanced and True Armor

I'm in Switch

Are the motion controls worth it? Seems like it would be a bit more fun.

You're fucked then.

On expert, you deal .75 of your listed damage and take 1.5x more damage.

Add to that level scaling and a likely average build and you're gonna have a bad time.

Adept is 1x and 1x.
Apprentice is you deal 1.5, they deal .75

so on and so forth.

it got a lot better but it still has one massive fuckup which is partially bethesda's fault but mostly the fault of modders.
>skse depends on game version
>modders make their skse mods depend on skse version
>bethesda updates something
>skse breaks but gets updated quickly
>modders take forever to update mods if they even bother

The gyro controls are great for archery. I used the slashing controls for an hour and turned them off.

Oh. What would you recommend? I didn't realise the difficulty options were so rigidly implemented, I thought there were more enemies, better loot, etc.

Are you joking? It is 100% bethesda's fault. They are running their paid mods store that fucks the game every time they add a war paint color.

The modders aren't magic, they can't know when Bethesda is gonna update their now 4 year old version of Skyrim.

Because I'm playing Oblivion with guns instead.
Fallout with magic sucks ass

Is there a fundamental reason why silverlock always makes his script extenders only work on a specific version of the game? I know there's nothing fundamentally different about the latest version of SSE because all it did was add some jewish creation club bullshit, so what gives. I'm sure this comes off naive because I know fuck-all about programming, but it's just really fucking annoying every time the game updates and then the script extender breaks and then everything else breaks too.

Thank god I just pirated SSE though. Learned my lesson after previous bethesda titles.

Nope, difficulty only affects damage. Not enemy spawns or loot.

I would recommend getting a mod to change the damage, set both you and NPCs to 3x and getting Death Alternative so you don't have loading screens every time you get shot by an arrow.

>Fallout with magic
I need to find this mod for the next time I play Fallout. Was it a mod for 3 or NV?

It locks to the version so that all the mods that depend on it also lock to that version. It keeps everything in order.

If they could not do it, they would have by now.

There are ways to prevent Skyrim from updating it's exe, and you can also do backups.

I can't use mods, I'm playing on Switch. I'll lower the difficulty though.

Just buy it again. Simple my friend.

Attached: 1507423139795.png (720x960, 186K)

akwardzombie is not a furfag

reminder that dual wield sword and mace + light armor is unbeatable in skyrim and the true easy mode

Adept is baseline experience. Start there, then adjust to suit your tastes if it's too easy/too difficult.

Sure, awkwy.

Modders aren't magic but they don't have to make their mods version dependent either. Every time a modder who doesn't release their source decides to not update their mod to the new version you're fucked.

artist kept getting complaints their khajits look like dogs so they went full ham on the nose

It's a fucking awful game and I can't believe Yea Forums has gotten to the state where there are actually zoomer fans of this trash. If I was going to play an elder scrolls game why would I want to play the worst one with no depth that just looks like an ES game on the surface? Game is so dumbed down it's just absolutely insulting and unplayable.

>add them to tracking so when i play skyrim next ill have lots of neat things to check out
>haven't played in maybe 4 years
Heh, someday though

Both magic and cowardice is shit and girly

Melee only and you will have fun on legendary, but fighting mods are obligatory
All perks for all weapons and blocking is also mandatory
What cant be reached, there is a shout, no other magic except for enchanting to amp up the weapon and armor use, but no enchanted weapons unless they are given by the daedra
Both kind of armors are needed too, since early game you get raped in light armor and later you can have whatever
Alchemy and enchantments
Gnords are the only race to play as that makes any sense in kyrim, as are romans for obliviot and gey fairies for morodor or whatever the fuck that shitty game was called, its unplayable unless you are doing life in solitary confinement and you have that game to play

nobody cares that you are a professional role player that takes his job seriously
especially not game creators, they dont care about you, they dont even like you
stick to dungeons and dragons or whatever you approve of, nothing will change for the better if you havent noticed
i too used to love RTS games and still do to an extent, still play them, but only the ones i like which are older than most of Yea Forums users

was dragonborn the only dlc with its own map?

Yes, although the dawnguard locations SHOULD HAVE had their own maps as well, because navigating soul cairn and forgotten vale was absolutely cancerous if you're trying to get all the side content like Jiub's notes.

I keep downloading new mods but am too lazy to properly install them.

Can't you multitask?

I'm busy with morrowind tho

What part of too lazy did you not read

Because I've never played that shit game, and I never will.

Woah funnyman

yep, sounds like something a useless goddess would do
