Game ends on cliffhanger

>game ends on cliffhanger
>never gets a sequel despite the series having had two more games since then

The fuck?

I was sure we'd have X2 announced at E3 and they'd just alternate back and forth but apparently fucking not.

Port it

>mobs can hit you with attacks from extremely large distances

This was probably thing single most annoying thing in this game. I could overlook pretty much any other issue, except this. It pissed me off so much and almost ruined the combat for me.

Still a fun game, but I prefer the other two Blade games.

Difficult to do in a nice way considering how XCX integrated with the pad's touchscreen.

They seem to be mainly working on a new IP right now. I do expect X2 to be the next Xenoblade project.

I ordered the physical soundtrack
Loved this game

Considering how fuckhuge these game are, I wouldn't be surprised if we wouldn't get the next Xeno game until Nintendo releases their next console after the Switch.

Even if it gets a sequel I don't expect it to explain shit. Will probably be about entirely different people and 100 years later or some shit like that.

>no x port on Switch

That would be a first for Monolith. Even when they didn't have time and money to finish games the way they originally planned it with Xenogears and Xenosaga, they made sure to cram the entire story in even if it meant having hour-long cutscenes and endless walls of text and encyclopedias to explain things.

>They seem to be mainly working on a new IP right now.
Takahashi has expressed anger in a recent interview that Nintendo seems to be only approving Xenoblade-related ideas.

It could still happen

What?

Source please?

Chronicles 2 and torna

>Takes place hundreds of years after the first game, so it's not a direct sequel.

>Main city is called Second Jerusalem. It will be divided into several sectors and the player will not be able to explore everything.

>First game's continents are back, with 3 more added: Miragia, Stellium and Asyre.

>Some characters from the first game return. They showed only Elma, Lin and Lao though.

>Lao is apparently a the head of, or a higher-up in a criminal (terrorist?) organization

>New characters revealed so far are: Alice Sakuraba (the protagonist) and Sezz (blue-haired swordsman, Alice's childhood friend). There's also a green-haired young girl.

>Alice fights a sword that she summons, kinda like the characters from Nier Automata. She likes to spin the sword around in her idle animation, it's pretty cool desu

>The battle system stays the same, though with several improvements.

>You can now explore underwater with the Skells, ocean exploration is the main focus

>Release is projected to be late 2021

A short standalone DLC doesn't count as a whole new game.

I think it will happen at one point, game was a moderate success so porting the first one to switch seems like a good idea.
Also I'd rather wait how many years devs needs to develop these games, they're pretty big and require time. Asking for constant releases will only turn them into Pokémon-like franchises.

>current day Motoi Sakuraba
That's going to be a yikes from me, dawg. I'd rather stick strictly to based Sawano drops.

It's a blurry photo so it's real

Torna was sold as both DLC and as a separate game, and while it's short for JRPG standards it's still a 30-40 hour experience. I'd say it counts.

>30-40 hour
What the fuck, not even 100% takes anywhere near this long. It's a tiny adventure with half the map being recycled from the base game.

>Torna is a full game
What a fucking retard

Pre-sixth gen JRPGs are not full games because they're shorter than Torna.

Very few old jrpgs are shorter than 20 hours.

Why go through the trouble of making this shit bait?

I can bear some additional menuing. Dealt with mercenaries and core opening just fine in XC2 after all.

I could've believed you if not for the blurry "photo"

They're still working in a new fantasy IP, that's been confirmed for a while. But yeah, it seems Nintendo wants the Xeno team to focus on Xenostuff while the new hires help around other EAD teams.

Monolith's next game will be a plotless surfing game but the surfboards are shaped like Zohars and open up a goldmine for Xeno lore speculation

I'd pay $15 for a surfing game with KOS-MOS.

After Alvis/Ontos fucked off from the world of Xenoblade 1, he started a surfboarding enterprise on the beautiful beaches of Mira, using bullshit conduit fuckery to bring the entire Xeno cast from the various games to compete in Monolith's new surfboarding hit, Xenoblade Party, which includes various other beach-themed minigames.

I'll take comfy fishing with Reyn.

You say that like a joke but that would sell very well to a certain audience and then we'd have another Persona on our hands.
Don't get me wrong I still like Persona but the constant milking with all the dance nonsense has definitely lessened my respect towards the franchise.

>Don't get me wrong I still like Persona but the constant milking with all the dance nonsense has definitely lessened my respect towards the franchise.
No, I agree.
As much as I like Xenoblade 2, I'm really afraid Monolith might try to milk it like they initially tried milking Xenosaga. I'm glad they haven't yet but still.
