It's the most P2W MMO in history because the P2W is literally unlimited and it DOES give you an advantage the more you spend. People have spent tens of thousands and they're still not max gear.
Also, the new loli class is censored. 0 reason to play until the loli class gets actual outfits and mods to uncensor her.

It's a decent game some good eye candy. I'm sure it's amazing if like like ERP.

the amount of money you have to spend to even get a decent experience is immense. like 100 bucks. This is becasue you always AOE grind but looting is done corpse by corpse, so you need to buy pets that autoloot for you. then there is other shit like P2W and P2avoid insane grind from the shop.

Fun gameplay with some good mechanics both in and out of combat COMPLETELY marred by it's cash shop shenanigans. And P2W here doesn't mean pay to not grind, at least not in any reasonable scale.
Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING in this game is designed as a money sink, both fake and real money. The game is heavily designed around economics, which would be fine if it was just game money, but that's where the P2W comes in.
Every time you repair a piece of gear, it's max durability PERMANENTLY drops, unless you apply costly cash shop items to restore piddling amounts.
You could technically buy them with in game money of the player auction house, however, inflation is so huge, you'll have to farm like a madman.
Now farming in this game involves rapidly killing mass amounts of enemies. However, you have to pick up EVERY ITEM DROP INDIVIDUALLY. And they drop like crazy. But, is there an autopickup method? Yes, if you by pets from the cash shop with real money. You can have up to FOUR active at a time, and you'll need at least 2 or 3 to comfortably pick up everything on average.
This game is mobile gacha levels of time and money sink and absolutely not worth it. You know what the end game is? More grinding against a softcapped level system.

combat and graphics are amazing
the grind is FUCKING HORRIBLE and there's no endgame outside of PVP

been about 2 years since I played, but I got sick to death of having the fight people to farm sausans, and having my kzarka weapon fail to upgrade AGAIN meaning I have to go fishing for hours on end to hope for memory fragments to fix the fucking thing

BD2 is about doing anything except only if you pay money or spend huge amounts of time grinding

Even getting the best gear isn't worth it because PVP is a miniscule part of the gameplay
I started playing it because I thought I could start a business that could grow hugely but it's surprisingly manual because you have to manage every worker all the time and grind until your worker is just a little bit decent
Also your business can't be that large because you have to micromanage so fucking much which means every production type business is outclassed profit-wise by trading where you have to pay close attention to every item in the game and also grind for good horses and a carriage which, you guessed it, takes forever

This game needed more roleplaying enforcement and more crazy freedom, but they'll never do that

Took awhile to get used to the controller interface but it seems ok and the game even has HDR support and looks amazing. I've only had 1 play session I think I'm level 14.

It's P2W as all hell. BUT! It's also the best mmo on the fucking planet when it comes combat, visuals and depth of the economy. It's actually insane how many ways of making money there are in the game. Think of any realistic profession a person in a fantasy world could make their job and it probably exists within the game. Ever felt like becoming a intercontinental trader that controls their own miniature economical empire? Go for it. Wanna fucking breed horses? Here, 1,5 billion silver for one tier 8. Enjoy your goddamn stay. BDO is not an mmo, it's a fantasy money making simulator. Is all of it viable though? Absolutely fucking now. Also, playing on official servers is for retards, find a comfy private server and stick to it until it dies.

If you play it how you want to play then it could be fun. If you play it how the game wants you to play (grinding braindead mobs 16h a day) then you might end up hating the game.

Its only worth it for the character customization and taking pictures of your character sitting or standing around in pretty landscapes. Combat is fun but not rewarding in any way, grinding is horrible and the game feels dead as fuck because everyone is afk letting their p2w pets do their job for them. PvP is shit because of p2w too, you can buy broken armour that makes you invisible.

bought it, played it, masturbated to it, uninstalled it. Suggest you do the same.

You will sort of enjoy the progress up to Level 50. Very little will every really challenge you, but you unlock a bunch of cool moves on the way up.
Then you hit the cap. You either choose to stay at 50, or decide to activate PvP and level up further which is an obscenely retardedly autistically slow grind for which you have no real new content except a corner of the map with slightly higher level enemies. And of course "open PvP" just means that some P2W fuckers or a rapegang will sweep on by and gank you for no reason.

The grind to level up beyond 50 is ridiculous and absolute shit.
The grind to make your gear stronger is utterly absurd and should not exist on this earth.
What you should do is make a character for each Class, replay the main story up to 50, then go to another Class. You'll be bored by the time you get through one or several characters (unless you find one that is just your style) and you will have avoided the horrifying P2W grind.

Legitimately fun and good way to fill 12 hours a day if you can immediately and indifferently drop 1000-3000$ on """(((Convenience)))""" items from the pearl shop. In which case you should get a pre-owned account from player auctions. Best combat of any mmo currently out. Rest of the gamer is pure time sink and econ.

Unless you're prepared to literally devote the entire rest of your life ( and money ) to this game it's not worth playing, you get absolutely nowhere, I've played this on and off since it was released in Europe and I've gotten fucking nowhere in terms of end-game stuff because the grind is a fucking nightmare that requires you to just keep playing day after day for years if you wanna get anywhere close to the top.

it's fun when you just do comfy stuff, travel, maybe do some quest, enjoy fun combat. Don't grind, don't go pvp, don't try to enchant above tri, don't waste money in shop. Don't play as koreans in general. Also you can shitpost on chat all day long there is no moderation unless you spam or something.

You're just shit at optimizing and using the tools at your disposal. Join a guild, setup a trading empire, afk fish while you browse Yea Forums, do guild hunts, participate in events where they literally give away free TRI accessories.

Now with Shai it's easier than ever to maximize life skilling, swap between your main character and her depending on what you feel like doing life skill / combat.
