We think it's good but could have been much better.

I think I'm lost in all of these fucking editions. Silver, gold, upgrade to this shit, to that shit, expantion pass. Fuck that.

Eh.
Couldn't have hurt to let it cook for a couple more months.
The real offender are the unlocks, though. They suck outside of maybe the phone.

What were you expecting? The talk of being able to walk around the street used to appear a lot. Overall what is disappointing about the level? The sheer size?

Now that the sale is on, does anyone have the graphic that tells you which edition and which expansion pass does what?

I'm missing just one costume for Chameleon. Any idea what it could be? Wore the Bank Robber one already and both IT.
Probably some meme costume hidden somewhere.

Excellent atmosphere. Refreshing to have one target to deal with. Unlocks outside of the OP phone and sweet suit are kinda eh. Seems stupidly easy to break into the vault, in comparison to getting into Athena's office.

Attached: MoodyAssassin.jpg (1920x1080, 861K)

Listen, it's not that fucking hard. Silver gets you the game and the Expansion Pass 1, Gold gets you the game and Exp Passes 1 and 2

Is this your first time buying videogames or something?

Attached: Roadmap_2019_FINAL-1024x605.jpg (1024x605, 179K)

It's really easy, no bank robbery mission, very limited assassination opportunities.

Did you get the Applicant and the Fired Banker?

Is Hitman 2 on Linux yet?
I really want to play it but fuck the Microjew

What about that The Heist Opportunity? I have this stuff turned off so I don't know how it progresses outside of having located the robber outfit.

It has literally nothing to do with the bank robbers and is just a really slow way of getting a security outfit and security key card.

The guys working on the main floor count as a different banker disguise.

Yeah but now that I think about it. I mightve worn Applicant before the chameleon challenge came out. So it might not have registered.
Thanks buddy

Is the server down or something? I can't connect.

I think fuck off shill

You mean the guys in blue suits? Ive worn that already

Yeah

Attached: Hitmaintenance.png (1464x590, 86K)

>Is this your first time buying videogames or something?
You do realize that this is a game that was cut in half and the devs had to jury-rig inter-product connectivity to make both halves into one contiguous product? There's Hitman 2016, there's an expansion campaign for that, there's a legacy pack for 2, which you get if you own 2016 and 2. Then you have expansion passes and legacy expansion packs. And because of what kind of clustefuck the inter-product connectivity is, nothing seems to get crossed out in the store after you own any or all parts of it. So good luck finding what you need so you aren't buying something that is 75% stuff that you already have.

what did it mean by this?

Attached: D-C39BKUEAAc8mv.jpg (1920x1080, 110K)

Here is the entire "The Heist" story mission. It's really terrible and easy to fail by complete accident.

>walk up to the main glass security door that leads into the vault area
>Diana will randomly call you and tell you about how there is another security office 2 floors above you
>the game wants you to sneak up there and take out a high security guard for his outfit and keycard
>once you open the glass door leading to the vault area with it, the mission is complete
>if you enter the vault area in any way before doing all of that, the mission will instantly fail[

What the fuck is the standart edition then? What's the differece etween the legacy pack and legacy pack upgrade?

>SOSA Master in the new Mumbai mission on my first try by just leaving the new electro phone for the target to find

How long until it gets nerfed to be just a knockout instead of a perfect accident kill?

Wait, is that a new item? Is it just a phone that silently electocutes the one carrying it to death? That does sound overpowered.

Y J K

Well, that's a huge letdown. The name seems awfully misleading given the outfit and all, plus it's not like it's hard at all to get a high security disguise or get into the vault itself. I'm confused they'd give you such a roundabout way to go about it.

It might be their policy to not want to encourage the player to kill non targets.

>Turns something that was just a goofy thing to do to people in Watch Dogs 2 into a lethal weapon

It's the item you get for completing the story missions in the bank. It's basically the explosive phone except now it's an electricution accident at any time without even a water puddle.

reddit.com/r/HiTMAN/comments/c60ter/showing_off_how_powerful_the_ica_electrocution/

Since when do Hitman episodes have a "story" that you have to follow?
Did they fuck up Hitman 2?
Goddamn, how do you fuck something so simple up?

>Cut game in half
>Sell the first half of the game twice
>Cut the second half into two additional pieces
>One game is sold in four pieces with one of those pieces being sold twice
Genius

I’m amazed they didn’t see how OP this would be when designing it. It’s like having a tranq gun that shoots lethal poison darts.

Yep, the reward for all the Mission Stories in the Bank.
Speaking of the new assignments, is anyone else disappointed at how lazy they are? I expected the maps to be modified like Landslide and The Icon.

You forgot:
>conveniently blame Steam because without any DRM at all, any and all expansions to any game would be trivial to install with no problems

It's what they renamed Opportunities to.
If you don't know, Opportunites are overall a way to easily handhold the player into a very easy, very safe Silent Assassin ranking.

I hope people don't think that those are a new thing. Now there are just more "opportunities" per mission and there are handholding indicators to guide you through them. The original Hitman 2:SA is full of extremely precise intended ways to kill the targets.

I doubt most anons here have played anything pre-Blood Money, honestly.
But it's funny how we went from a crouch speed that would make a turtle blush to being as fast as just running.

>Exp Passes 1 and 2
There are 2 expansion passes? Hooray! More useless sniper maps and gimped levels.

it's fucked, i hate it.

where the fuck is Kane and Lynch 3? it was already kinda teased in some Hitman level

youtube.com/watch?v=9K56SLOxwdQ

This isn't a teaser for anything. Any time people are playing a video game in a level they're playing that. There's even IT guys in the bank level playing it.

If they're going to make a kane and lynch 3 then they should do the hitman approach where you can prepare and plan heists. None of that linear, cinematic bullshit.

Except for that one guy in Sapienza that plays Hitman Sniper Challenge, that one is a contrarian.

He's not even playing it it's just on the main menu, and it's only Sniper Challenge because it's based on a guy who won a contest.

>because it's based on a guy who won a contest.
Oh, really? Like that one they held with Sniper Assassin to get your face in HITMAN 2?

It's honestly way too easy to get into the vault. The story mission that is supposed to be the "easy" way is actually more difficult than just gassing the security office with the chlorophorm that is just right next to the office, even on Master. Getting those 3 data discs is also much more difficult and takes longer. It reminds me a bit about how some ways are super easy to find the Maelstrom but at least the easiest way isn't something you will just find on your first try.

Hell, you can just disable the vault security from the IT room too, no keycard required. Why did they make entering the vault baby tier? If anything getting the 3 backups (both because of common sense and the way it's presented) should be the easy way.

hey bro, I like the "cinematic linear bullshit" okay? I liked Dog Days.

but I agree with one thing: the gameplay should follow the Hitman recent success approach. perhaps follow a little bit of GTA (at least when it comes to plan heists, make more details than GTA because why not bring something more realistic)

also, does IO Interactive have the rights to make a new Kane & Lynch?

I dont know about that one but yes Rocco is based on a contest winner.

ICA Electrocution Phone shouldn't be lethal. It should just be a free knockout.

I hope the resort level involves some goofy stuff like 47 being a tour guide

Don't worry, they're bound to change it soon enough.
Meanwhile items like the crystal ball are completely useless now that the muffins are a thing.

after playing bank, I just want it to be big and challenging

I think the most OP weapon they could design right now would either be a silenced sniper rifle with max zoom that shoots leathal poison darts or a poison dart version of that custom 5mm.

Given what they've given us with this plus the special assignments I wouldn't hold my hopes up.

shotgun is great, can be concealed

The suppressed shotgun is still the broken one, though. A lockpick for anything.

IOI doesn't own K&L, Square kept the ip.

Is Hitman 2 always online like the first one?

idgi. what are the expansion passes? what does expansion pass 2 offer over expansion pass 1? how do i gauge the value of just the standard game versus the standard game including pass 1 versus the standard game including pass 1 and 2? it doesn't seem obvious to me what the value of the different options are

Yes. You don't even get a rating if you play offline.

Guess I can't pirate it then.

base game has 6 locations and a sniper mission,
expansion 1 gives you an additional location and sniper map, same deal for expansion 2.

I guess you could use a trainer to unlock everything and dick around, you can't make any progress at all offline. No unlocks, challenges, nothing.

The thing is you can't buy the first pass anymore.Your only options are to either buy Hitman 2 without any DLC's or the Gold Edition with all the future DLC's, also you need to buy "GOTY Legacy Pack" DLC for Hitman 2 if you want access to 2016 content

It feels like getting the 3 harddrives is way more work than just breaking into the vault.

>harddrives
>have to locate and pacify 3 targets instead of 1 all while navigating the large multi-story bank

>vault server rack
>poison airconditioner/pick off guards with distractions
>immediately get the key to the card to swipe and open the vault
>can literally use card hackers too if you want
>key to the truck is right next to the security area so you can literally just leave
why would you ever go for the 3 harddrives?

Attached: 1543593333544.jpg (1200x1600, 989K)

>need to buy "GOTY Legacy Pack" DLC for Hitman 2 if you want access to 2016 content
If you own Hitman 1 you get that for free.

That too.

>What's the differece etween the legacy pack and legacy pack upgrade?
Legacy Pack is all of Hitman 1 and Hitman 1's dlc.
Legacy Pack upgrade is ONLY Hitman 1's DLC.

Why would you want to buy Hitman 1's DLC without Hitman 1's base content?
Because they had a promotion for people who owned Hitman 1, so the upgrade pack is for those old customers who never actually bought the DLC but did own the first game.

To this day I cannot understand how to play this game
>hints off
You wander around the area aimlessly until you stumble upon a clue.
>hints on
You just go to the arrow on a map.

Both are kind of shit aren't they. How do you play this?

I only did it once for the challenge and once when I did a "kill everyone" run later. There's even opportunities for it by poisoning certain drinks that the 2 roaming people will use but it still takes like 10 minutes longer that way.

Just been messing around with it so far, haven't even completed it. Wish there was more NPC's in the main foyer to bring it to life more.

Just bee yourself

they really need to move some shit around.
laser grind should needs a separate key do disable
the vault opening should alert the security chief
data core shouldn't be placeable into a suitcase

I tried mowing down everyone in the main foyer with an assault rifle.
was kind of disappointed hoe underwhelming their reactions were.

makes me glad i didnt buy hitman 2

You play however you want, that's the point.

>It feels like getting the 3 harddrives is way more work than just breaking into the vault.
Because it is, they must have screwed up somehow, getting into the vault is presented as a challenge but it's ridiculously easy.

I usually just play it as a stealth game and then just end up having a really janky shitty stealth game experience.

and why is that?

>data core shouldn't be placeable into a suitcase
wait what?
the data core is shaped the same and is throwable like a suitcase, are you telling me it can be placed inside a suitcase as well?
I thought the whole point is people raise the alarm if they see you with it, so you have to work to stay out of sight or use the truck getaway.
Are you telling me you can literally just put it in any case you bring into the mission?

Yeah but every way I try is shit... It's either too obvious or completely random, doesn't seem like there's a middle ground where you have to work things out through logic and the power of your brain.

yes, it's stupid. there's literally no point the core being illegal when you can put it in a case right away

>no meaningful improvements over hitman 1
still always online cancer
>reward structure is still complete shit, with the rewards being largely fucking useless and mostly cosmetic
>denuvo
>60€ for 5 fucking maps (what the actual fuck)
>expansions are literally 1 map each that isn't even good
>story got fucking butchered and turned into a generic anime-tier revenge plot, which is disappointing after the great set up and ending of Hitman 1

>denuvo
wrong

Yeah, there even is a suitcase in the little room with the 2 guards just upstairs.

they removed it after launch

They removed denuvo months ago.

that's your problem

just play around with the maps more and consider all your available items.
Sometimes it's fun to just walk into a room and punt an explosive baseball at the target.
Sometimes it's fun to empty the area using distractions, picking people off like the predator before getting a silent kill on the target without fear of being spotted.
Sometimes you can break a target's pathing to get them somewhere and do a kill that's not nearly as obvious.

The challenges are designed to make you think like this more, I highly recommend doing some of them to not feel like you're only doing the obvious story kills.
Doing suit only silent assains on master are extremely satisfying too and will make you think a lot more about how you play rather than just swapping through outfits until you can walk up to the target and do the prompt.

Great map imo, but yeah - the vault is stupid, it's so easy to get into, you shouldn't be able to disable the tripwires without a code from somewhere else in the building

Attached: 1560485128878.jpg (720x480, 80K)

>still always online cancer
online mode only gives you cheevos, you can still play the whole game offline.
>60€ for 5 fucking maps (what the actual fuck)
I got the gold edition for cheaper than that
>expansions are literally 1 map each that isn't even good
we don't know how good it will be yet, expansion 1 is decent.
The only problem is they waste their time on sniper maps which literally no one wants.
>>story got fucking butchered and turned into a generic anime-tier revenge plot, which is disappointing after the great set up and ending of Hitman 1
nu-hitman's story was always shit, I skip that shit.

I bought the Gold Edition for ps4 back when it came out. I get this level for free, right? How do I unlock it?

>nu-hitman's story was always shit, I skip that shit.
Hitman's stories were always shit.

>online mode only gives you cheevos, you can still play the whole game offline.
Except that the game doesn't track your performance in any way offline, thus not giving you a rating on your mission nor the ability to unlock items. You can also only play Campaign missions, no Escalations.
Try again, buster.

what gets me is it's literally the closest thing to the entrance, the guard at the lost and found is always timed to turn around by the time you walk over, the other guards are watching tv in a closed room, you can literally just v-line there without needing any tools and get the data core.
The fucking head of security doesn't even go past any of the security posts at any point in his pathing.

Should be downloadable as update

Nah, you need to go into the store and buy it for free.

>Crouch speed
Man, that shit was bonkers. What was its purpose? Even the slow walk was slower then the normal NPC walking.
I dont like feeling like a total ninja as in the new games but the stealth speed in 2:SA was just so slow, it really made fiber wire situations a weird conga line of two people that would take forever to end

stop living in the sticks

>Except that the game doesn't track your performance in any way offline, thus not giving you a rating on your mission nor the ability to unlock items
you unlock all the items for a mission almost immediately, you'd have to be pretty unlucky to be trying to unlock stuff during the literal 1 hour maintenance before the patch.
>You can also only play Campaign missions, no Escalations.
Escalations are shit and short anyway, you finish them in a sitting.

This is not an always online game, you get to enjoy the entire game without being online.

its a fun game but (((warner bros))))
when you see dlc, warn a brother.

>unlock gold bar
>go back to Mumbai to do some classic challenges
>all the street shitters reacting to its solid thunk from being thrown and then mindlessly bending over to pick it up
>literally get the sewer queen to walk outside alone to get my gold
it's a coin and a fish in one, I love it

Attached: 0.jpg (1873x651, 98K)

if it's so simple then why do you need a fucking chart to convey it
i'm not going to sit here researching what segments of the game i should and shouldn't buy. if you're not going to sell me a complete product then i'm not going to fucking buy it

What's special about the fish? What does it do?

just a knock-out throwable, but unlike the crowbar and such it doesn't bounce around as much after.
Also doesn't make a thunk sound but I don't know if that actually effects audible range or not.

As someone who loved 47, 2 (favourite), Contracts and Blood Money, and loathed Absolution, should I bother with the new games?

non-leathal and unbreakable throwable melee item that can pass frisks. In some spots you can also place the fish on a plate and turn it into sushi, like in Janus house if you use it instead of a muffin. Other than that the handyman wrench is technically just straight up better but it isn't floppy and slimy.

you can knock out people in close range to other and they won't notice

Absolutely yes.Get Hitman 2 Gold Edition and buy the GOTY Legacy Pack DLC and you are all set for 200+ hours of fun

>should I bother with the best Hitman games?

Yes, the games are much more like Blood Money than Absolution. There are no more "Get from point A to B while a helicopter shoots at you" levels, instead it's all "Explore this big location and find good ways to kill your targets."

I was in the same boat and I bought this game less than a week ago.
I have 46 hours played already.
It's fun.

I don't know what to tell you, I'm entirely unconvinced about these new entries. I feel the level design was hurt by forcing it to accommodate for SASO and it just lacks something, for some reason I don't find it as enjoyable as the older games.
And there being no gun collecting but instead unlocking the same gun 5 times with different accessories sucks too.

based

Attached: index.jpg (300x168, 10K)

whats the point of mastery when every game is just gonna have the same shit rehashed? what's next; lockpick, rifle, pistol mk3?

I want to say no so badly, but we all know that will be a thing.

I'll be frank with you: they're not as good as the Silent Assassin; Contracts; Blood Money trilogy. If you're expecting a repeat of those, you'll be disappointed. However if you like assassination and disguise in general, you'll enjoy the new games. They're fun games, each one is basically like 5 very big missions and you're expected to replay each mission several times. They're very good games in their own right, but if you're expecting a classic Hitman game, you'll be disappointed. It may just be my thick nostalgia-goggles talking.

I haven't played the new bank mission yet so I'll see how that is I suppose. Also, Absolution isn't even a Hitman game, skip that

Attached: IMG_7244.png (1251x1700, 594K)

I just see I can try the first mission, I'll give it a shot.

If it is not similar to Absolution, it's worth a try.

Lockpick but gray

>46 hours

You sure it wasn't 47 hours?

they need to make it so that the basic items stack and don't clog the inventory

>own Hitman 2016
>press promises I can play 2016 levels in 2
>buy 2
>can't download levels again without buying upgrade pack

fuck IOI for making me pay again to play levels I already paid for

The first mission is Hawkes bay, just keep in mind its way smaller than the others and feels more like a tutorial than a proper map.
If you want a bigger impression of what nu-Hitman is like, Paris is the free mission for Hitman 1 and that's a lot bigger.

Or you can be like me and pirate the entire 70GB game and then decide to pirate it after.

You need to put in the original disc

you get whatever you own from H1 for free.

You don't have to pay for them if you own all the Hitman 1 episodes, however,

ioi.dk/hitman-legacy-faq/
it says you need the full game or all the episodes.
Is that you?

I reinstalled the original game, and downloaded all six levels - still nothing

what platform are you on?
on PC you get a free DLC for H2, no need to install H1

This should be an unlock you get for 100% completion.

Is there ANY special interaction that becomes possible if you wear the bank robber disguise or is it just like the ninja outfit?

What missions has Hitman 2 got so far? It's just been sitting on my backlog and I've only played the race track mission so far.

Columbian jungle
Mumbai
suburban Vermont
small island with castle
New York bank

>New Zealand (late night home break-in)
>Miami (Race track)
>Columbia (cartel boss’ mansion+ jungle and a fishing village)
>Mumbai (slums+train yard + construction site)
>Whittleton Creek (US suburb)
>Sgail (old gothic castle with a Bohemian Grove style party going on)
>Bank (a Bank in NYC)

That’s it so far.

Does the New Zealand map have any alternate missions on it?

Not so far. If there’s any map that needs a bonus mission, it does.

>Bank in New York
>No Jewish people
Why?

Still waiting for my airport level IOI

Attached: 1543183055256.jpg (946x945, 918K)

Very good atmosphere, the level itself is somewhat reminicent of blood money, a single target kill was a refreshing change.
I'm just dissapointed that a providence bank has lower security than a random hotel in bangkok.

It will be made as a sniper level.

The phone is probably the best gadget in the game.

Did they fix the discover challenge for bank?

>loved hitman 1
>try to play hitman 2
>quit at 2nd mission every time
Is the magic gone?

Not yet

Just checked, it seems they have. It still showed 0, but beating the mission unlocked it for me.

Yeah I logged in and it shows as a completed task now, didn't even have to finish the level.

I’ve seen a lot of people suffer from burn out with the new games. It’s not happened for me because I love the formula, but it happens.

The scale can become overwhelming but once you learn the level, it doesn't feel so big anymore. I felt the same way as you on my first time through but it went away as I explored.

They look nice at least. Mumbai in the day looks pretty good.

Yeah the glitched out area discovery challenge unlocked for me after I just beat the level again (on PS4).

Any hopes for the resort lads?
I just hoping it's more challenging than the bank, SASO was far to easy to work out.

Attached: 47Bog.jpg (1440x810, 205K)

Yeah, I'm hoping it's at least decently sized. Bank was like half of the Paris mansion, but even without any surrounding territory.

Attached: 2 beers, please.jpg (3840x2160, 2.82M)

I hope they have creative kill opportunities to make up for the fact that a resort is a rather boring location.

Attached: 20190627032002_1[1].jpg (1920x1080, 364K)

So, we kill the partners at the resort, and then what?

Probably not the partners or at least all of them, we still have season 3 to go.

Probably one target and someone related to them on each map they release

Assuming each of the partners has one mission dedicated to them each in Season 3, what are the remaining 3 of the 6 total missions going to be about?

Kinda appreciated the smaller size of the level for once, doesn't take forever to go from one end to the other. But, eh, getting into the vault and evade the lasers inside is way too fucking easy

Subject 6 was evil all along, mission 4 is his remaining lieutenants, 5 is his hacker girl, and final mission is him.

>his remaining lieutenants
They all died over the course of Season 2. The Maelstrom was his second in command and only him and the hacker girl are left. If both of them are going to be killed, they’ll be two targets in the same mission.

I'm trying to get into the directors office as the IT guy but it says I'm tresspassing, I've disabed her WiFi so I'm not sure why I can't enter her office.
Am I missing a step of is this a bug?

The Constant is still alive and struck a deal with Diana, he's going to escape and 47 would have to clean the mess

I think you have to enter through the front door after talking to the secretary after he has made the call to the IT department. If you just sneak in it might be trespassing.

>Steam gets the bank update
>stuck at validating for a whole fucking day
>i get tired of this shit and uninstall the game entirely.

Attached: 281y3jkh69f01.jpg (1200x1159, 95K)

That was it, I had to wait for a call.
I was running up the the directors to quickly.
