Banjo is a honey bear and the guys in DKC3 are grizzlies.

If they ever make a Banjo game that returns to the series roots, this guy should totally cameo. His head could be a busted, banged up old monitor resting on a tattered, torn purple tablecloth (his robe).

The bears aren't even that much taller then Dixie.

Banjo is very polite and friendly. He likes to make friends with everyone he meets if he can, and he'll stop whatever he's doing to help anyone out. Banjo likes Gnawty and Gnawty likes Banjo. The Kongs are a lot more selfish. They only look out for each other and their immediate allies. They don't care about Gnawty and Gnawty doesn't care about them.
Banjo is still cool with the Kongs though. He made friends with Diddy somehow and Dixie gave him her Rare pin.

Actually I think either the instruction book or official guide for DKR states that Banjo and Kazooie are together at the time, she stayed at their house while he went to Timber's Island ("He'll certainly have quite a tale to tell Kazooie when he gets back!").

How come in Smash Bros, Banjo and Kazooie are the only Rare characters that get go keep their voices? Donkey Kong makes generic gorilla sounds, Diddy Kong makes generic Monkey sounds, K. Rool makes generic monster sounds. Banjo isn't just making generic bear sounds and Kazooie isn't just making generic bird sounds. Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and K. Rool had great voices in Donkey Kong 64.

Third party privilege, and Banjo is too humanoid, too cutesy and too short compared to DK and K. Rool so a feral voice wouldn't fit him at all compared to them. It's the same reason why Yoshi and Bowser Jr. retain their canon voices despite Bowser having a different one.
