Desktop, better options for monitors and it doesn't overheat as easily
Also a lot easier to upgrade individual parts if you ever want to

That isnt even a question

Depends, if you care about portability then get a laptop. If you care about performance to dollar then get a desktop.

I got a gaming laptop and have been very happy with my purchase, however I would reccomend buying a mechanical keyboard for when you are at home, as even gaming laptop have shitty chicklet keyboards.

>gaming laptop
oh wow

If you get a portability then tuck your balls back as far as then will go and buy a Switch.

dunno man if you're asking that question i'd assume you'd probably wanna go for a desktop i have a laptop because i don't play much on PC and don't have a lot of space to live with

If you have to ask don't bother

A gaming desktop is always a better value for your money
Only get a laptop if you absolutely need portability (like if you're homeless and living out of a van or something)

Gaming laptop's are identical to desktops minus upgrading, but they're depreciation is equal to that of desktops so you can just sell your laptop at it's arbitrary value if you ever wanted to upgrade your laptop.

The only reason to get the laptop would be if you very regularly go to a friend's house to play games. If you have situations where you have some buddies sitting around playing games together in the same room, it's nice.

If not, there is absolutely no reason to get the laptop because they run hot, stutter, and breakdown easily whilst having no upgradability, being expensive and having lower performance.

most gayman laptops run on stunted hardware

Op here. Is this a good desktop?

>Gaming laptop's are identical to desktops minus upgrading
and cut down hardware, and massive thermal throttling, and a huge increase in price.

It's good for the price, I would look for one with more RAM and a better processor though to avoid having to upgrade soon
but it depends on what you wanna play ofc

A gaming console

Desktop.
t. only have a laptop as an option and the screen is starting to burn in in certain places like the taskbar.

It might sound like a hassle but you learn a lot by building one yourself and the chances of anything going wrong are minimal as long as you take your time and follow a guide

What's that thing growing out of its ass?

>voluntarily paying $60 dollars/game

Laptop if you move every month. Desktop if you don't.

nice ride i bet you get all the ladies ahah :^)

>considering the things you play on a PC games in the first place

Emma watson is old and busted. she was never beautiful

Really comes down to what you want to play, doesn't it?

Five years from now, you can put a new graphics card in the desktop, and it will play the newest power-hungry games for another handful of years.

The laptop won't do so very well even at the outset, and you won't be able to upgrade it without paying through the nose, particularly if you wait five years, at which point it will likely be falling apart from general wear anyway.

>game on console: 60 dollars
>game on PC: literally free
>these savings make back the price of a budget desktop over the course of about 8-10 games
>despite this, still prefers console

One of the most sold games of last year (monster hunter world) was $20 on psn and is $40 on steam...

The pc version is outdated and on September the ps4 version will get dlc

Eat a dick pc fag

Fuck you, she was HOT at thirteen.

Actually you're wrong. On PC it was $0.

Laptop only makes sense if you buy 1 pc and you need it mobile for uni or something.
Or if you're planning on moving out of a war torn country soon.

a 2060 in a laptop is more than enough to play whatever you want on a 17 inch screen.

>That isnt even a question
the obvious answer is a gaming tablet.

>Argues that you should consentrate on getting a good deal instead of playing the games you want to play.

>Argues that hardware is worth money, yet the challenges, the stories, the visuals, and the music that captivates you during your time with that hardware, aren't.

Besides, it's not like all games on console cost $60. And it's not like games on PC aren't often priced at $60 or more. And it's not like you can't pirate games on the consoles if you really want to.

I got both. It depends on what you want. If you want to play anything even slightly demanding, desktop. If you value portability and dont mind being tied down to less demanding games a laptop is fine.

i have both.
i use my laptop more.

>buy a Switch

But I want to play games at a stable 150+ fps on ultimate settings on the go...

And I see you want to look and sound like a dork while doing so.

Considering since 2016 there have been near full sized cards in laptops, I can't imagine why you would think this.

Paying $500-800 more for a laptop version of a 6700k/1080 that is a full sized cpu and gpu can be the best way to not sacrifice for gaming when you travel a ton.

Desktop hands-down

Of course, after you have that, if you want a laptop, by all means buy one.

I actually own a ps4, switch, 3ds, vita, and a desktop PC. I play the games I want to play. There are a few exclusives on PS4/Switch which were worth it. The point I was making is that if you can only have one, I assume because of money issues, a desktop PC is far and away the best choice because of piracy and value for money over time. Also the argument that PC has no games makes no sense because most console games get ported to PC anyway. This is so obvious and such old news that I dunno why it needs to be said.

as opposed to playing a switch on public? lmao,

Ive had my laptop for a while, it can play a lot of games pretty well but its age is starting to really show.

I'd say it depends. Unless you really care about the graphic or have limited budget (ok to good gaming laptops are expensive as fuck) buy a PC. If you care about portability, don't mind playing with medium settings buy a laptop. Easy as that.

>gaming laptop

How is this still a thing? It's 2019, guys. Time to wake up.

Consider your living situation.

Bump

>nincel delusions

No. Get a thinkpad or macbook and focus on your life. Stop playing games.

Just get an iPad for maximum portability.

I have a gaming laptop because my dad won't let me get a desktop. He says that desktops are worse than laptops since you can't move from one spot and thinks that upgrading a desktop solely for gaming is childish and retarded

>he's asking about it
ofcource get a laptop
