Mission accomplished
Mika Eye Lasers?
The buff she needs
So when do I give up?
My connection seems iffy tonight
When you fail to make any significant progress in a year
I'm glad there's actually kind of a metric for this.
It's only been a few months for you, huo. Don't take it too hard but do make note of it in your mind that you need to put in that work.
Especially since he is playing Yuzu.
I get the feeling it's not normal to fail 421's this often after months. It's like I committed some grave sin, and my punishment is the inability to play fighting games.
Also, hot damn is this Nanase mirror tense.
It seems you aren't alone
I had a hard time with teleports too at first. I only learned how to TK teleport relatively recently as well
I was watching some Battle Arena uploads and I really need to get in that TK assault fakeout going on. Is it just back-jump and assault?
Just know in the Nanase MU you have complete control in neutral. Get a life lead and just bully her with your slashes and she will have to work hard to succeed.
My net cut out right as I was searching for the lobby before, and we flew so high during the Nanase mirror I think we reached the moon.
It's gonna be one of those nights...
Full lobby I presume? Suppose I'll practice some combos in the meantime.
Actually nevermind, I'll get back to Trails in the Sky. Thanks again for the recommendation, really feeling good about the combat so far.
Also, the battle theme is great.
Construction is going on in my area so my connection might also be off tonight.
You can teamkill in this?
Woah there pal, if you're really desperate I'd dip out into a second lobby.
there will be space soon. I need to dip after this round
Nah it's all good. I've been wanting to get some other games in since lately all I've been playing is UNIST and CS for games (along with Mana Collection that came out recently).
>Battle Theme is great
Get a feeling so Sophisticated
I get that feeling. I keep forgetting about other games since 10:30 is the Unist hour.
kw: pclobby. never gona let this one die. Not gonna play though as I have to go in early for work so you all can play in the lobby.
We already lost one. ;_;7
GGs all I have an essay to finish in the morning
GGs
Don't forget to proofread it.
Unfortunately I gotta leave early tonight so ggs lads.
Someone tell me how the fuck that little flip is an overhead. She doesn't even reach up that much. Damn it.
Ended up having to take a nap right before jumping into the lobby, but I should be good tonight. Still up for a FT10, Icey? I can make a new room once I warm up after I get a rotation in the lobby.
more like boobie on down lmao
I just woke up as well so I'm also doing a warm up
GGs
How did I even win that match
Does this game have an anti-quitting feature? I'm thinking of ways to protect my green.
Your name becomes red.
I've only seen it on one guy though
I've only ever seen one person with the red name of rage quitting, so it would be quite impressive in a way if you become the second
Yes, your name will turn red if you rage quit too much. I've seen two or three people with it, and as expected they ragequit on me.
So I get to be kinda special?
Oh shit it looks kinda cool...
Not really, people just won't play with you.
But I get to stay at least a mid-bottom rank. What's really important here?
You get to be special alright...
Dia upgrading himself to jikangire's color
Anyone got a short tutorial on how to search for images of characters on twitter?
I've read that alot of people have moved on from pixiv to just post on twitter.
Just follow the official twitter and then keep up with the artists that get retweeted.
1. Type character name and/or #UNIST in search
2. Pray
Arc/FB PR won't be retweeting the hentai artists though
I hate that I care about these squares at all. I wish there was a way to just stop showing them, so I never know when I hit blue. It's such a dumb thing to care about, but I know that blue is gonna hurt.
Before we do the FT10 dia I'll be right back
But Blue's the best color.
Squares were a fucking mistake. Arcsys needs to stop shoehorning rankings into casual lobbies.
I've stopped doing the first one because it just gets me dumb object labeling memes and terrible photoshop shit. Following artist directly helps me avoid the garbage.
You're not missing out, nobody good draws porn for this series aside from blackheart
I think red and light blue look the best. Is Dark blue the lowest?
Light Blue is the lowest.
Oh shit, I might just go for it then.
It's not a bad idea in theory. If you reach purple you're probably pretty good at the game. People just have a hard time accepting that it's okay to fall to a low color because then that proves that they're bad
I-I'm not bad, I just lose every game!
I always saw it like this. It's not about being bad, it's just not being good enough
What a tragic first match.
I don't care about my color but I never want to fall into blue Square again it's so hard to get out off.
Given how getting demoted works light blues are bad players who are trying to stick it out. I forget the exact numbers, but you have to get blown up at least 30 times to even leave white square. Most scrubs don't even do that.
Light Blue is a different kind of curse because fat chance you'll run into another blue square that hasn't quit yet to pull yourself out of it.
I've mentioned this several times by now, but me, Sai, and Blues all were stuck in blue hell for the longest time, and we all managed to eventually climb out.
If anything, blue is kind of nice since people have 0 expectations for you. It's always nice to show up a higher ranked person for underestimating you
I like bbtag should I get this game?
What about bbtag did you like
It's extremely different, but if you like fighting games sure
>blue is kind of nice since people have 0 expectations for you. It's always nice to show up a higher ranked person for underestimating you
that's if they don't just cancel the incoming match when they see the square...
I got caught in battle while brushing my teeth, and somehow end up doing better than usual. What the hell?
Also, it's incredible/appalling how well you all turn ANYTHING into combos. I swear it's dumb little jabs out of the sky that hit me, and the next thing I've taken 4000 damage.
>blue vs. sai's "get met out of blue death match"
That was a fun stream to watch
Why on earth would someone do that?
>all turn ANYTHING into combos
Adjustments and combo theory. Sooner or later, it clicks when you can do what and where.
I was also stuck in blue for 3 months but once I got out I shot up to an orange square in about a week.
At what point do you just enter another plane of existence? This shit's magic no matter how you look at it.
Everything sometimes I wish supers weren't so good though
EU?
I mostly got into it when I learned multiple combo routes, optimization, and seeing how others play the character. It's mostly about condensing and refining a lot of information into something streamlined and sensible to you depending on the situation. It comes with just playing a lot.
You gotta be more specific than that. Have you played any other fighter before? Or are you the type who benefited from Tag's relatively simple controls, how good were you at it?
Do get it if:
You like the design of the characters
You like fighting games in general or want to try out a non team based fighter
Don't get it if:
You expect a good online experience
You want another crazy team based Fighter
You need to have air dashes in your fighting games.
Gonna make step out for a bit and then make the room for the FT10, Icey.
Razzy whyyyy
Lately, the lobbies have been making an exception to have EU players hop in with Mike. Why not hop in too if there's space?
If you're EU just quit the game already, it's for japanese and american people only.
I hate to reveal more of my dumbassery, but what's an FT10? Googling it brings up medical equipment?
I'll play you in another lobby, if you want to deal with a half-globe's worth of lag.
>exception
More like he's the one braving the frames to play with us because he's got no one else.
Save a replay of a match. Load up the replay and take note of the first hit that you get where you fail to convert it into damage. Recreate the situation in training mode and practice converting that hit into a full combo. Do it until you can repeat it 10 times in a row without a mistake, then switch sides and do it until you can repeat it 10 times facing the other direction without a mistake, then do it 10 times in a row while switching direction between each repetition.
Then go repeat the same process with another conversion/situation.
First to 10.
eU should leave
K
That's true I suppose. I'm surprised he's able to do any combos at all playing a charge character with 8-10 frames. Maybe he's conditioned himself for it.
please don't encourage eus to join na lobbies...
>EU
Not really, connections won't spare it
>Sanic
Please stop
Fuck you Vatista
>You need to have air dashes in your fighting games.
It doesn't have air dashes?
I wouldn't say I'm amazing but I do win more matches than I loss
I've played p4 arena, blazblue skull girls and most of the vs series
You couldn't even being to possibly understand my complex gameplan.
Hey atic is here. The last time I played you gave me and Icy a list of easy mode Orie combos. I forgot to write them down and they are now lost forever. Do you happen to remember what they were?
That sounds like the way to do it. Damn I'm gonna have to start playing this workdays at a time.
Having said that, I'm dipping to go play weebgarbage. I'll come back later.
You seem right.
I bought the game on sale, but I'm gonna refund it and get Guilty Gear instead because I was told its actually played in EU.
If you played al of that, then yeah, this shouldn't be all that hard to grasp.
Man you really messed up hippie. Why did you let me parry you 3 times?
All according to my calculations
Because there's no way that parry is 17 frames of start-up
Just join the NA Lobbies, user. Guilty Gear is awful, don't buy it.
Technically there's an EU discord for the game so I wouldnt just drop it without giving it a small chance to see if you like it.
But if you're opposed to that don't let me stop you as I'm sure you'll have fun with GG too.
Exactly.
>Just join the NA Lobbies, user. Guilty Gear is awful, don't buy it.
>More 8 frame games
Look, I don't want to discourage the guy but that shit just isn't fun in the slightest. Why don't the EU people up at this hour just play together or some shit
No anime air dashes. Merkava has a 12 style air dash out of his fly though. This game has assaults which are more like a KoF short hop that launched you forward. No instant air dash cross ups on wake up. It's the same animation used in BBtag for the Unist characters air dashes though.
That doesn't really mean anything when you get to specific numbers. It's as fast as I want it to be in my mind and it usually comes out in the nick of time.
Don't want to use that tranny bot-net.
I couldn't find any rooms in UNIST by searching online, and I asked a friend who plays GG if it's any better in that and he said there were always rooms up in the after noon.
Considering that, it's kinda weird that people claim GG is dead and UNIST is at its peak of popularity.
Don't do anything is saying.
Room's up btw
Sounds good. I'm gonna stream it cause it will be fun with the added pressure.
At least for tournaments people have been coming to show up more often. Mr. Wizard cites that as the main reason it's getting main stage spotlight at EVO this year.
Found the post I made:
Day 1 easy bake oven combo: 5A > 5C > 2C > 4C > 214B > 2C > 4C > 214B (2228)
*2C > 4C > 214B danzai loops are a general autopilot route if you just need to end into something.
Non-A starter: 2C > 4C > j.B > j.C > j.214A > 623A > 5A > 5C > 214B > 2C > 4C > 214B (2962)
2A starter: 2A > 2C > 4C > 623A > 5A > 5C > 214B > 2C > 4C > 214B
5A starter: 5A > 5C > (2C) > 4C > 623A > 5A > 5C > 214B > 2C > 4C > 214B
*You can omit 2C if you want to brainlessly do the same thing for assault combo below without thinking.
Assault starter: Assault j.C > 2A or 5A starter combos above.
Overhead/Thanatos starter: (6B) > 214A~B > 236B (1999/2056)
Personally I think j.214B routes for A combos are easier than trying to juggle 623A > 2/5A in netplay but I'm on pad so that may differ.
Rooting for Dia in this one but best of luck to the both of you.
That's because GG has gone for at least 4 years and hasn't had official word of a new game.
UNI[st] is only 2 years old in comparison, and only now got the spotlight, while also having incoming news for a new addition to the game
spend less time on /vg/ it's rotting your brain
This bandaged thumb is becoming a nuisance
I actually should have tested my mic commentating this
Ahhhhh fuck why didn't you say this before. Now I can't set that shit up mid stream on ps4
Someone else Ft10 icey this week
>5 people watching
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
So I've actually been doing some research on this. FGC public narratives are all a shit show. From a tournament entrant perspective Guilty Gear is having a very comparable year to Unist. Though Guilty Gear's height popularity was front loaded at Evo Japan. Both games are more alive than either BlazBlue but smaller than Soul Calibur. SC theoretically should be alive and healthy for the next few years, but absolutely no one is talking about it.
Thanks. I promise I'll save it this time.
Well, that's not anything new. People treat DBFZ as a dead game now especially since it dropped off in comparison to its peak and because of the bad reception to its latest patches/current balance, but it still gets multiple times more regular players on Steam than any other anime fighter.
picking this up friday on PS4
how do i play akatsuki? how well does he transition from blitzkampf to unist?
>on Steam
So nothing?
>zero (0) bars with hippie suddenly
>no bars with Lamp again
Really?
A-at least I'll be able to play you at Evo?
mash A and do random 6Bs/214Bs/assaults
never stop mashing A
also he doesn't even say 'chesto' and his line sounds nothing like it, that meme is fucking retarded
Not many have played blitzkampf here so the distinction isn't easy to make, but you still got 22x as your DP so have fun.
And 214B is air unblockable and its vertical hitbox might as well reach the ceiling
Goddamn Sankt.
Then what does he say.
I remember him actually saying chesto in Blitzkampf
>that spot dodge on the ex hien
Was pretty clean.
i once saw someone saw he's saying "jetto" but it always sounds closer to "chinbo" or something to me
He says it at the end of his B tatsu, what are you talking about
TELL ME THAT WASN'T SICK!
How much do they play? I've been shuffling thru fighters so much lately either of those two would destroy me.
Most entered at tournaments in 2019 as well. Third most played fighting game right now. Though will probably lose out to MK11 in the latter half of the year.
I know it's Steam, but the combined population on just PC would still probably be like triple of UNIST's total PC+PSN population.
youtu.be
There's no 's' or 't' sound in there, If anything he's saying chinpo because he's so gay
UNIST doesn't carry the DB fanbase so that is expected.
Well I know that Icy plays every lobby night except for Thursdays.
Dia took a small break recently but he's a regular otherwise.
They're both mostly here regularly. Not sure how much time they put into other fighters but in UNIST they've definitely have been around for a long time in these lobbies.
Get your ears checked
Yeah he's definitely saying Jetto no clue where people are getting the S from
user... you need to see an ear doctor
That's cool. I've only played with my friends a few times last year and we are scrubs at the game. I think it is kinda cool you anons play this regularly.
stop spewing your epic discord memes for 5 seconds and listen to the game if you've ever even played it
Why the FUCK would he be saying jetto, instead of chesto
The tides have turned.
Everyone laugh at the EOP
WHY
I fucking bet icey tried to 4B the IW
Not him but I really don't care what that electric ape is actually saying
I can feel my attempts at changing up my blockstrings fucking up catastrophically
I was in your shoes last year as well actually. Only played the game a few times as a fun casual time at launch of the NA release of [st].
Didn't only really get invested until either late Summer / Early Fall but after sticking it out for a good amount of time I was able to get a much better handle and eventually went from masher to being half-way decent at the game.
If you're interested and have free time, I'd recommend hopping in and putting in the time. I was definitely able to have more fun once I deep dived than just having a casual's eye view of the game (though the game can probably still be viewed as fun that way too).
Cheers!
>PS+ ran out
looks like I'm stuck on PC for now.
Can't stay focused so I'm just gonna sleep. GGs.
>Can't even spectate Atic
Guess I'll leave early as well. ggs
>lobby exploded
I was going to sleep soon anyway so I'll just end it early. I played some Samsho with Mag earlier tonight and while Samsho lobbies are even worse than UNIST's, this is really making me wish I played a fighter with good netcode.
ggs everyone
You should get back in now actually.
It's fine, been doing poorly lately so this is a good excuse
There goes my rematches
GGs
Fuck, my thumb is making it hell for me to get any sort of effective blockstrings down.
Might just end it early for myself and lobby 1
I don't wanna jinx it, but it looks like that small break at the lobby changed momentum quite abit in favor of Dia.
Fine by me, I've been barely awake the last few rotations
Yeah It really kill my momentum, though I think he was honestly fucking with me for the first 5 matches.
Good games man. It was obvious I was gonna lose but I think I did some good shit those matches
GGs
Not sure if it's my thumb, the lag, or just deterioration that's making me feel like my blockstrings are too shit right now.
Maybe I'm just tired with this week's work schedule.
Nice job to the both of you for showing off some pretty neat stuff on the stream.
Those were some nice FFs and cool combos from Dia and Icy did alot of great dodges and parries in the midst of those blockstrings and hard to predict attacks (like those fast ex hiens).
ggs. I just had to use the bathroom, so sorry about that. Didn't realize how long the countdown in the rematch screen was though.
For the most part, I just started adjusting to your game plan. Couldn't react to your assaults for shit and gave up my turn in some situations.
GGs guys
I decided to try out the C-grip since my pinky/ring finger were feeling cramped and I think I like it, though I need to adjust me left-facing quarter circles a bit since I've been dropping those all day as a result
Is Enkidu's parry just regular special-cancel rules when you use it in blockstrings like a frametrap or is there any special tricks it can do? I should probably just go learn what Enkidu's specials all look like so I can differentiate them from his normals while I'm defending
Also, you've gotten a lot more consistent with your combos. I was getting annoyed at all the confirms off stray hits. Even the Yuzu at my local lets me get away with badly timed dashblocks mre than that, and I pretty consistently lose to him.
Special Cancel, Enkidu's normals just have a generous delay window.
Yeah I'm pretty pleased with myself. I honestly thought I wouldn't even take a match off him since he's blown way passed me in terms of skill.
Ah I see, this is why I went to the bathroom before hand so this would no arise. Also >Couldn't react to your assaults
You did nothing but that.
Anyway that was still really fun, I love our little matches since they always seem back to back. Though I guess this FT10 shows they aren't so back to back anymore.
I will say this though, getting the perfect after dodging that EX move linne does was the best feeling ever.
I wouldn't say I'm more consistent with my combos since I dropped so many of them during our matches. Though I think one thing I have improved at is connecting or recognizing a stray hit.
I started reacting to them after losing several matches. I started getting a sense of when you tended to do it after that though.
In general, I think you need to be more patient in defense. That's the biggest issue. You started holding back on the wakeup VOs, but you're better off using it in gaps of my pressure. Poking out of my pressure after rebeats is good too,.
Also, that dodge into perfect was terrible. I hate it. Please just get hit my my EX Hien.
You started being a lot less consistent in the later matches, but they were really on point early on.
Yeah my defense is still my worst aspect and it's probably the most important thing to be good at in this game!
But Linne(your Linne) honestly terrifies me since she can do so much in the corner and I can't help but panic and pray. I don't know how people do it.
Yeah I lost all my energy at some point, I should've eaten more strawberries and grapes so that I could've lasted longer.
My playstyle's just good at punishing people who too agressive try to take their turn. It's harder to deal with me in netplay, but that's why I end up getting stumped by people like Seijaku most of the time.
You're basically my kryptonite then since I can't handle anyone who's even remotely aggressive.
Sei has god tier defense, I don't know how I win some matches against him. Though your defense is also absurd when it comes to dash blocking. I don't know how you can keep moving and block that fast.
Dashing has a minimal distance, so it's not as hard as it seems. I literally just did drills in training mode last year. I actually overdo it since I don't wait for gaps in pressure and get punished for it.
I hate defending too, but it's just something you have to do. Part of the reason I turned it around was because I dialed back my aggression a bit in neutral.
You'll have to show me some tricks at EVO about defending when we all meet up.
I've switched to Cherry Blossom hand soap. I think this will elevate my Yuzu game to the next level.
I like the idea. Hope it works out for you!
Defense tip #1: play offline
So much stuff becomes far less reliably reactable at even 3 frame delay, which completely changes the flow of the game because pressure isn't reliant on the threat of throws anymore but also "lol they might just throw out an overhead and get a free combo"
I think it's just made my hands smell like old people. This has nothing on cucumber melon.
Is the lobby full or dead?
PS4 is dead but if someone wants to start a new one I'm down
I can't guarantee high stability, but you're welcome to come beat on me some.
Think I'll hop on too right now for abit. Got my fix outta the way earlier.
Tonight hasn't seemed like a good night for anyone's connection for some reason
Hot damn, I thought I had better than 6 frames. Sorry about this.
It's been 2 rounds and he's already a perfect Waldstein.
Dude I barely know one combo, I'm sure you'd crush me if you were playing your Yuzu
Also for the person/s that have knowledge on Kiseki, how am I doing? Made it to Bose and lost Olivier.
Pretty sure I'm still early in but having quite some fun!
Levels and stats don't really mean as much so as long as you're trying to do every quest and upgrading your weapon as you enter a new chapter.
What's more important is your quartz set up
Cool, thanks for the info. Looking forward into getting into all the sidequests and discovering the mechanics for sure.
Like they said, your quartz setup's probably the most important part, though you probably don't have many slots at this point. There's not much you can do wrong at the moment. It gets pretty fun later on tinkering with what spells you can use though.
I love how people go nuts when you get close to taking a round. It's always a humbling experience.
Do I buy this just for that girl? Twintails are perfection.
You could. She's fun and bubbly
>the grab spam in the corner
Now that was some dirty playing.
Estelle is quite the character so sure
Right. I'm down with RPGs that open up the more you play them for sure.
Estelle's pretty great.
>lobbies are so slow people have time to play and talk about RPGs inbetween their matches
This really needs to be fixed.
Shame it won't me.
>all those punches
looked like Aka was performing some kinda training there.
That was my impression of Ranked Akatsukis
God I hate this character
Damn, this is high praise.
I was laughing so hard I almost lost to that Akatsuki strat.
>lobbies are slow
Regular lobby times have been over since 30 minutes ago and we ended early to boot.
But yeah, they're not fixing the netcode either.
What
>Panic 2B which becomes whiffed 22B
>Mashing 2A
>Mashing 2A and then into 6B despite landing the hit
P.S. to be fair I think he's a cool character I just hate how strong he is when people mash A and Assault jB in 6 frame delay
I do want to try actually playing with him some time
I just wanted an excuse to use the auto-turbo function on my stick for once really
>Pick main in a for-fun match
>Still get dicked down
Who is the hottest girl in this game? I keep getting distracted by all the waifus so I'm having a hard time choosing a main.
Those beams really seem like a solid idea for dash block practice.
Lately I've been trying to incorporate Linne's FF dodge into rolling for getting in against Yuzu zoning. I wonder if that works against Vatista's beams well enough too.
think for yourself
Entirely subjective though the objective 1st character pick for most people is probably Yuzu so I'll just say her.
Forgot to throw in the disclaimer that most people don't stick with her since she is not beginner-friendly.
Chaos
chestwaaaa
It should work. It's pretty much a hard callout though, so you'll want to be conservative with it.
>Seth's FF
So what's the purpose of it besides chuuni pose?
What the hell kinda question is this anyway? Can't you just look at them and think "That's the one I want to dick down the most"?
If it's not Yuzu, you really oughta leave the closet. Orie's a close second.
apparently it buffs his orbs in some way
wiki.mizuumi.net
Like half of all FFs and vorpal traits for character in this game are pointless.
Orbs activate faster and are now unkillable
Holy shit, 7 frames. Gonna call it a night here since it's getting real late.
Makes his orbs unbreakable.
Mid bottom rank is red.
A guy I've never seen joins, and he's already a better Yuzu than me. How many times must this happen?
Neat. So do you put the orbs out first and then activate FF or is it an install of sorts?
FF then orb
4 hours late, but wouldn't that be mid-top?
this but unironically the real game starts at purple
If it's any consolation, like most Yuzu players, it's the only character he plays at high level IIRC.
Also, he migrated from PC so he's been here awhile.
Ah okay cool, thanks.
Also forgot to say this but GGs and have a good night!
I don't even understand how my character works. You gotta tell me how to get slashes out that fast.
>6 frames to sai
Man wtf is wrong with the internet tonight
Maybe it's just bad luck? How's the weather?
>that gamble
I was expecting a full on comeback there haha.
You gotta see that, it can't just be me. Something about almost losing to a green brings out the primal mind, and I just get gorilla fucked in the corner.
neutral IWEX is almost never worth it
>and I just get gorilla fucked in the corner.
Yuzu's a long-range zoner, she has to work hard to get out of the corner.
That's exactly why they don't expect it!
Man, watching good Mika players is a treat. I love watching that gremlin deliver beatdowns.
It's less that that bothers me, and more just that when the enemy hits yellow health, the food processor switches to liquidate. Like someone's just dragonball yelling over there, and they power up all hard.
GGs guys I'd better get some sleep before the sun comes up
Sayonara dude. It was fun.
GGs broski. Hopefully you can catch at least a few Zs before that happens.
Love that kick, hahaha.
Didn't know that 22C could chain like that. CS is a heck of an ability.
That was a heck of an Aka mirror.
If it's possible to CHESTWOOOO too much, I think we're nearing that point.
Would you guys be miffed if I ended this in 8 minutes?
>2 supers in the same round
Might have to retire after that one. Don't think I'll ever pull that off again.
Nah, it's fine by me. Thanks for keeping it up this late even!
But what about
Eltnam
>that dash through projectile to get the grab
How unexpected!
She's like 3rd.
The hottest is obviously Wagner.
Well boys, I think that's all 'tsuki wrote. Fun times, thanks for staying up this late with me.
I'm mad I didn't think of that first.
GGs bros and thanks for the late night hosting Huo. Had alot of fun letting out my inner unga in those Aka mirrors!
Ggs chesto lobby. Thanks for hosting so late.
