Pirate's Curse was a legitimate good game.

Half a Minute Pirate wasn't and they seriously need to get better level design that what we got in that game. Especially when you have transformations that cpompletely break the game like the harpy.

Transformations are fun, they just need to be implemented better. Dancing back and forth between forms is repetitive, but they're part of Shantae's character.

Nah, Shantae is solely for lonely and horny kids. She's just too boring of a character to have anything going on but sex appeal in the package of the wynx club art style. It's just unpleasant from start to finish. The WB/MW/MB series offers far better design, game play, music, characters, and a better sense of humor. It doesn't rely on cheap T&A and an expensive game boy color game to have any sort of claim to fame, but entirely on what matters. Shanty games are lowest common denominator and unacceptable for any MW fan.

Pirate's Curse is a solid game with good level design and mechanics that facilitate speed running once you've played through, and a mode that offers all abilities at the start after you've beaten it once. It's a fun speed run game.

The other games' transformation and spell mechanics really, really slow the flow of gameplay, and makes it feel like you're playing short episodes of different games strung along in a barely cohesive set piece.

No one buys the games for gameplay, and outside of Pirate's Curse, they don't really have it.

I came for the games and stayed for the smut, but still play the games. Idk honestly. The Shantae games are a mixed bag. They’re usually really mediocre, with some high points here and there, but Pirate’s Curse was exceptionally good. Half Genie Hero was really fun, but it just felt like something was off about it. I didn’t really like the level design and backtracking, plus I haven’t played the extra content released since launch.

There's a upgrade to speed up the dance. Dancing isn't really a problem to the pacing, you just can't do much if the level design in your game is shit.

Now that you mention it a full dress up feature cold be implemented to dress up Shantae as you like but having importance in gameplay. Twintails for example decrease ATK DMGbut give Atk speed,that dress cuts HP but gives MP mix and match until you have your Shantae that moves how you like, or go fuck ti and make the one that looks the best!

It's not just the dancing, which really doesn't help the flow of the gameplay having to stop all of a sudden, but the actual transformations, which are just different enough from Shantae's regular gameplay that you're not really able to use the skills you used from playing as her, but they're also not really used for real puzzle solving, so it just feels like you're playing a slightly different game every time you switch - it'd be like, in the middle of playing as Sonic in an Adventure 2 level, you take a 30 second break to watch him breakdance, and then play as Knuckles to find one emerald shard, and then you're back to Sonic.
