When was Mario Odyssey released? It's set a dangerous precedent to appeal only to children and nostalgia.

>It's set a dangerous precedent to appeal only to children
But that precedent was started when video games started, as this whole hobby is for children

pic unrelated because it was going down hill way before that

>as this whole hobby is for children
And this mentality is why the industry is so bad right now. We've got Sony trying to make mature "movie" games, Nintendo for a long time tried to never be daring with their games or content and developers trying so hard to be edgy/shocking/memeing to appeal to anyone above the age of 13. Fuck you and that inane "age rating" dickheads like you gave to video games.

2007-2008 when casualization began to appeal to the widest potential audience for maximum profit by dumbing down the games for casuals and nongamers.

~2005

mid to late 2000s due to casualization and the rapid increase in movie games

Videogames have always tried to appeal to the masses. Or you really think they wanted money from a couple of nerds? LOL

>t. hasn't even played the game
and odyssey is really the most appealing to nostalgia? Really? Either you're underage, or you've been living under a rock so much not to see all the pixel indie shit that's come out in the 2010s, not to mention the attempts at reviving dead (or at least unpopular) genres
Odyssey isn't even that oriented to children. It's pretty much around the same difficulty as Galaxy
