What was the year that Gaming started to decline?
What was the year that Gaming started to decline?
When was Mario Odyssey released? It's set a dangerous precedent to appeal only to children and nostalgia.
>It's set a dangerous precedent to appeal only to children
But that precedent was started when video games started, as this whole hobby is for children
pic unrelated because it was going down hill way before that
>as this whole hobby is for children
And this mentality is why the industry is so bad right now. We've got Sony trying to make mature "movie" games, Nintendo for a long time tried to never be daring with their games or content and developers trying so hard to be edgy/shocking/memeing to appeal to anyone above the age of 13. Fuck you and that inane "age rating" dickheads like you gave to video games.
2007-2008 when casualization began to appeal to the widest potential audience for maximum profit by dumbing down the games for casuals and nongamers.
~2005
mid to late 2000s due to casualization and the rapid increase in movie games
Videogames have always tried to appeal to the masses. Or you really think they wanted money from a couple of nerds? LOL
>t. hasn't even played the game
and odyssey is really the most appealing to nostalgia? Really? Either you're underage, or you've been living under a rock so much not to see all the pixel indie shit that's come out in the 2010s, not to mention the attempts at reviving dead (or at least unpopular) genres
Odyssey isn't even that oriented to children. It's pretty much around the same difficulty as Galaxy
2006. The year Oblivion’s horse armor released.
Still, I think better and better games come out every year
When Skyrim released. Also Mass Effect 3
>Almost finished it
>lol u havent played it because muh reviewers say 10/10 and your not agreeing!!!
>It's pretty much around the same difficulty as Galaxy
>Sit down next to guy on bench
>Earn moon
>Throw hat at some flowers
>Earn moon
>Talk to Captain Toad in mildly out of the way spot
>Earn star
>Jump over a skipping rope 30 times
>Earn star
Let's not forget to mention the broken hat mechanics which make sequencing breaking really fucking easy so you can avoid most challenges/levels. What a fucking insult to Galaxy 1 & 2's legacy to say it's as easy as Odyssey.
>>Almost finished it
yeah youre done
What did I expect from a Odyssey supporter. A rational argument? Nah, just a petty comeback. I ask you this, have YOU played the game? If you have and weren't below the age of 8, you'd see how stupidly easy, childish and nostalgia-bait the game is.
youre donskie
unfortunately you woerent enough or my blade
I blame Halo.
To think that people have nostalgia for it.
Video games used to appeal almost exclusively to children
Now they appeal almost exclusively to manchildren
Post a pic of your game with today's date so we know you aren't absolutely full of shit.
2006-2008 when garbage like Twilight Princess & Fallout 3 won GOTY
gaming is better now than it's ever been, you've just been paying attention to triple A garbage games, imagine if you only watched movies made by disney, then you'd think all modern movies are bad.
>he follows the predetermined route
>gets the predetermined moons
>zomg guys it's too easy
You are either retarded and don't understand the mechanics of 3D Mario or you didn't play the game.
>Predetermined route
>Captain Toad
>Skipping rope
>Bench buddies
>Predetermined route
The "predetermined route" are the pseudo-missions you do to advance until the boss fight, you stupid fuck. Anything outside of that is considered sidecontent (content you need to do to gain enough moons regardless so they're mandatory). Not to mention I already talked about the piss-easy sequence breaking because Cappy is broken as fuck.
>bench buddies
Why is it always this moon? Why do you retards always bring out the most cryptic moon there is? All of this shit comes from a video right? There's 900 moons and you always shitpost about the same crap.
>Why do you bring up the most outrageous and horrible example of a "challenge" when talking about a game being stupid and dumbed-down
Oh sorry, how about those memorisation pipes, or the Goomba stack for some female Goomba that appears MULTIPLE TIMES (even twice in the same level sometimes). How about those seeds you need to plant? How about the ~100 moons you can BUY WITH COINS.
What about those? They are gameplay, and you clearly don't understand 3D Mario mechanics, you watched a video and parrot the same opinion every other retard says. There's no point in arguing with someone that just bitches.
>you watched a video and parrot the same opinion every other retard says
No, I PLAYED THE GAME and realised what he said was actually correct. The CHALLENGE is getting through the slog of repetitive content that's so easy and diluted for a MARIO GAME OF ALL THINGS. Only to be rewarded for doing next to nothing. Fucking LEGO City Undercover was a better Mario Odyssey and the LEGO games are criticised constantly for exactly what Mario Odyssey does.
Then you are confirming you are retarded, 3D Mario has always been about finding your way to the objective using the movement options, I'm sorry you are so stupid you take the easiest predetermined route and then complain the game doesn't offer a challenge.
What a shame that I was talking about the stupid and boring SIDE CONTENT, rather than the pseudo-missions. But of course I'm arguing with a Mario Odyslag.
So you don't even know how to read.
2007
And what exact kind of movement could I do to ace say, a skipping rope challenge other than jumping. How about possessing a Goomba and stacking them with only a single JUMP button and barely any obstacles. What about secret moons that require finding a ledge to climb across (that have no other challenge than noticing it). The most challenging level to explore was Bowser's castle and that's an exception, not the rule. The rest are so fucking easy and have next to no real rewards, only "notice abnormality or door and receive reward".
Why do you keep replying with the same shit from a video? Seriously nerd, get a life.
>Why are you replying with correct observations you have experienced firsthand that I'm blissfully ignoring because that requires acknowledging Mario Odyssey was mediocre
>correct observations
user, you are just parroting what you saw in a video.
